Were there literally ANY good games for this thing?

Or was it just shitty NES ports?

>shitty NES ports
?

y'see zoomer, back then there weren't iphones n stoof, back then you wanted "shitty NES" ports to have on the go

>Asking that question while Warlocked exists

Things were different back then.

Time wasn't as important and technology wasn't under as much pressure as it is now.

It was okay to come out that far later on, to people then, if it played games then it played games, it was a singular function that wasn't complicated.
It was all pixel graphics, 2D interfaces and low res LCDs anyway, they didn't know they would ever get anything besides that.

I am jealous in a way, the technology was stagnant, but the art was close to perfected, you could have a system for 10 years and be content with knowing there wasn't anything better out there to worry about, you and your friends could play on the same system for your entire childhood and enjoy things together.

Not anymore.
Now everyone has to be segmented off, we have to have "exclusives" everywhere making sure that everyone is at odds with each other and no one can just go buy video games. You have to buy a whole buttfucking ecosystem that constantly tries to lock you in, and god forbid your friends bought something else, you might as well be fucked unless your some little shit who has rich parents who will buy them everything, then everyone just hates you.

>Hey man, have you played [Game]?
>Nah, I got [Console], so I can't play it
>Oh, well never mind
Should never be a real conversation

>Hey man, you got Super Mario Bros/Pokemon?
>Fuck yea dude, who hasn't played that
>Cool, let's go play it / talk about it

Fuck this stupid industry

Attached: download.jpg (226x223, 4K)

Pokemon pinball was pretty sweet.

Kirby's Dreamland is good

James Bond.

console exclusives existed in the 90s you stupid zoomer
most people had either a snes or genesis, and snes and genesis versions were often completely different games

We had over a decade of no console wars bullshit.

Take your zoomer shit elsewhere you faggot, if you don't remember the gaming industry crash then that's your fucking problem.

Go suck a dick and wash it down with some cucumber water you abrasive millennial trash.

Pokemon R/B/Y
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
Kirby's Dream Land
Pokemon G/S/C

Hard to argue that any of these games are bad.

The only games I had was 007 and Pokemon Blue.
I completely missed out on all hand helds after that until the 3DS.

I remember liking Tomb Raider on GBC

You missed the pinnacle of portable gaming that is GBA,PSP,DS, and Vita

How much of a zoomer do you have to be to even post something like this
-Pokemon R/B
-Pokemon G/S
-Super Mario Land
-Donkey Kong Land 1 -3
-Pokemon TCG
-Super Mario Land 2
-Metroid 2
-Tetis
-Warioland 1 through 4
-Kirby
-Bomberman
-Pokemon Pinball
-Links Awakening
-Oracle of Seasons/Ages

You're alright, dont go to school tomorrow.

Basically, yeah. The answer for asking for a hand held for anything was always a "no" and by the time I had money I basically forgot about hand held games and just kind of bought PC and console games.

How did we go nearly a decade with "now in color!" being the only innovation?

Attached: images.jpeg.jpg (429x343, 23K)

Any day now Pete.

I'm starting to question your resolve here man.

Shut up you goddamn retard, I suppose that everyone who bought a Lynx/Gamegear got "a system for 10 years and (was) content with knowing there wasn't anything better out there"
>Now everyone has to be segmented off with exclusives
Lmaoooooo

>PKMN
>cheap
>PKMN
>portable
>PKMN
>less battery use than competition
>PKMN

How did it take us thousands of years to say
>what if we grow food instead of praying to the sun God that we find it by traveling in one direction for a month?
Pete works in mysterious ways, user. Soon we will all meet him.

Games were so good, color wasn't even a thought.

Because for all of that time even high end cell phones had black and white screens

WE SHITTING ON GAME BOYS TODAY?

>1998 was the year nintendo stopped being relevant
this image explains the company

>I suppose that everyone who bought a Lynx/Gamegear got "a system for 10 years and (was) content with knowing there wasn't anything better out there"
Yes, the minute I bought Nintendo I 100% was.

What now you cock gobbling moron?

Attached: Momento.jpg (1152x864, 295K)

Link's Awakening felt like a real game and not just some shitty port.

Amen.
Six Golden Coins was great, too.

You can thank Pokemon for that.
There was going to be a Gameboy successor around 1996, and then Pokemon came out and Nintendo decided to just let it ride

The Gameboy Color actually had a processor twice as fast as the final version, (and the official version has CRAZY overclock potential as a result), until Pokemon came out and taught them they could make it cheaper and easier

>Hey man, have you played Sonic the Hedgehog?
>Nah, I got Super Nintendo, so I can't play it
>Oh, well never mind

>Hey man, you got Pokemon Go/Fortnite?
>Fuck yea dude, it's free and everyone has a phone
>Cool, let's go play it/talk about it

>no Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters

>Pokemon GO/Fortnight, both horrible P2W multiplayer focused games, are exactly the same quality and caliber as a single player Sonic the Hedgehog game from the 80's
I'm gonna invite you to Pokemon GO fuck yourself there m80

mario land 2

Yeah they only had another two consoles selling over 100 million units each (wii and ds). Totally no longer relevant.

You're so wrong it hurts.
Nintendo themselves released THREE home consoles while the gameboy was on sale.

The gameboy was popular and lasted for so many years because Nintendo's first priority was their home consoles, and the gameboy was doing way better than anyone expected, to the point where they were afraid to fuck it up.

Also Pokemon. Pokemon cannot be overstated.

Metal Gear Solid Ghost Babel was an underrated gem and was mechanically the closest thing western audiences got to playing Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake until it was added as a bonus feature on MGS3 Subsistence.

>to the point where they were afraid to fuck it up
>Also Pokemon. Pokemon cannot be overstated.
I do not disagree on either count and would in fact consider this to be an extremely important lesson to note.

I mean, now significantly smaller and now luminous are pretty good innovations

Agreed. It was my first experience with the series.

your arguement is weak. the console wars of the 90s basically sat right inbetween the collapse of the video game industry PRE 90s, and the ps2 domination of the 2000s.
