I have a 1920x1200 screen that scales pefectly with 4:3 resolutions so I dont need one.

Have an older lcd that looks very nice even with 16:9 stretching but I lost the remote so I cant set it back to 4:3

I have no fucking idea why people get so uppity about black bars. Almost all the good films I've watched have necessitated black bars because I don't live in Paris or New York or some posh place like that and I'm not complaining. It's not even the beginning of a nuissance.

Black levels actually have been improving for LCDs over the years. Also, CRTs don't have perfect black levels either.
