Souls has the implication of a particular style of combat, theming and tone.
Whereas metroidvanias, while similar, imply heavy backtracking and abilities-as-keys progression.
Dark Souls 1 is the closest to a Metroidvania, the others aren't really.

Roguelike = difficult with permadeath, with implications of gridbased old-school ASCII graphics dungeon crawling, in the vein of the game "Rogue"
Roguelite = the same as above, but with lessened restrictions and some variety of progression on failstates instead of every game being a tabula rasa.
