Hate to be that guy but I was at the point where it felt like every single time I died it was to a random crit I couldn't have accounted for. It just got too frustrating.

Meet your Match almost made me quit for good, I did take a 2 year break though.
I came back recently after realizing that there's no game out there quite as fun as TF2 for me and that at it's core, it's still the TF2 I loved.
The only game I played in those 2 years that I didn't leave out of disgust was Paladins.

scout is actually one of the best targets for uber and soldier is low tier.

I tried Paladins, and only temporarily found Pip somewhat tolerable to play, but ultimately it bored me to death. Guns do have the thing where they deal a fuckton of damage but they don't feel nearly as satisfying to use.

It is. But it feels like it should be more. The game modes are a paltry offering. And 5v5 kind of reduces the chaos but also really limits the amount of things that can happen in a match, compared to something like TF2.

There could be more game here, but there's not.

Demoman truly is the cancer of TF2. His "drunk" personality is boring and overused, and he's way too easy. Just take your sticky launcher and spam M1 and M2, that's it. And this stupid gimmick of the "Demoknight" is retarded. A bomb class that doesn't use bombs? How stupid. If Valve fixed or got rid of the Demoman, TF2 would be a better game.

It's a complete one of a kind game.
Nobody in today's games industry would have the balls to do it again. The characters actually feel human and well-written, whereas everyone just wants to make focus-grouped, safe and inoffensive characters with generic, bland gameplay.

I hate this recent trend in team shooters that keeps limiting the team size down to some incredibly small amount.

Soldier truly is the cancer of TF2. He's loud and repetitive and super easy to play. All you have to do is aim your rocket launcher in the general area of the enemy's feet, and you fucking win any fight. He's also way too OP, since he can rocket jump all over the place and make it super hard to hit him. Don't get me started on the black box/conch combo. If Valve fixed or got rid of the Soldier, TF2 would be a better game.

I don't mind if payload stays gone, that seems more TF2's speed since setting up defenses is less of a thing in Paladins. Even their "engineer" class is more of a skirmisher, with his sentries pecking at health, not outright killing anyone.

Fucking useless. Every flamethrower is easy to use and rewards being brain dead, the phlog is factually broken and the Scorch Shot removes any need for secondaries or melee.

Banners are a primary weapon, but now all banners have an extra attribute: doubling clips of any shotguns equipped. Also halving charge rate of all food equipped, but that's less important.

Matchmaking is unironically broken. If you do too well in casual for even a few games, you get thrown into blatantly losing matches like those. Glicko is fucked.

Not useless just REAL hard to use Effectively, if you're good enough with the Dragons Fury you dont even need a shotgun you can decimate and demolish single enemy targets while keeping one of the flares for groups and ranged. Melee is honestly personal preference. Keep in mind though when approaching multiples of the explosion based classes that your airblast is severely diminished and that you need to play smarter.

It has no splash damage ability, but it does retain the Flamethrower's ability to penetrate targets. It also has significantly more range, more reliable DPS, and it deletes sentries if they're close enough to corner-peek. It has buggy interaction with some other projectiles, causing it to become pretty much inert if it collides with rockets/syringes/arrows, also some world geometry will do this as well. Valve has no intention of fixing this.

Also you can juggle burning players by shooting their feet.

Not really, just change the default settings 'cause they're ass. Use a higher FOV, set autoreload, disable the zooming after firing as Sniper, and if you want, download a custom HUD. Personally, I'm fine and dandy with the default minhud, but it's down to preference.

Take your time to get acquaintanced with the stock weapons first, so that you'll get to grips with the basics of the class. As you do that, you should go unlocking some achievements, but if at a point you just want the Milestone weapons, sure, go for it.

The Machina is my favourite sniper primary but the huntsman is a highly respectable choice, especially for shutting down demoknights

Give spy a trans-locator.

If your connection is perfect then you can rely on the server to calculate everything and send it back to you, but interp adds a delay to some calculations so that your computer can do them locally in case your connection drops out for a few ticks.

I'm not an expert of payload maps but I'd say heavy. Pyro can work too, but he must have quite a bit of experience to not get blasted into the air like a leaf, and sometimes sentries conveniently placed just won't allow him to run very far.

It's a good thing that this idea isn't "on-demand minicrits" then. There's a red sea-tier different between something like the crit-a-cola or broken buffalo steak and building up 600 damage with no consumable health regen, the slowest movement speed in the game, and 2 direct counters in sniper and spy. It wouldn't be gamebreaking in the slightest.

I can search for a single map in EU and expect to get into a match in 30 seconds, the only thing I miss from the old days is arena. I really loved arena. Playing arena_watchtower and having those fights between the last couple of players was always fun. The few times where an engie was allowed to set up a level 3 on point and wondering if the other player was going to be able to kill them against all odds, C&D spies hiding the entire match and going apeshit in chat screaming "DON'T CAP", the 1% matches where one player brings it back against 4+ players.

TF2 and new Quake are the only FPS games I like nowadays. Every other FPS game I play means that some random cum-stain is going to directly influence your fun. In TF2, the people on my team don't matter. I can still find some way to have fun, even if it's a complete 1-sided stomp. In Quake I play Duel, losses feel good, wins feel good, learn something each time.

I tried Apex for a while, playing solo isn't fun. It's typical of every other team-based game where you'll occasionally get one of those matches where the game shows its true colours and you have fun, but 95% of the time it's just a chore.

There's a reason for that, you know.

Scream Fortress 2018 and Smissmas 2018 are the most players the game has ever had. While it's heyday is certainly over, you can still get into it and enjoy at least a good 4-5 years of a rock solid game.

The game runs normally (for a 4GB system at least) but after a few minutes the graphical driver crashes and returns, the ingame screen goes dark (it continues to run normally though, even the menus work).

I plan on doing a fresh install to see if the drivers get unfucked during installation so it's alright if you have no idea of what to do.

Drop randomly, but they're super easy to get. Get around 8 refined and you can attain all unique unlocks in the game.

Buy, trade, wait for the random drop, craft or through achievements.

most of the basic settings of the game are optimized for 2007 pcs (which were mostly cpu reliant) where 2019 pcs are mostly gpu reliant)
so it brings in nice optimization with no graphics cost, you can also pump the graphics up or down if your pc is really good/bad

also there's so much to learn even players with 5k+ hours learn new shit everyday, it'll be very overwhelming at first, but it's a part of the experience

Shotgun deals more damage than the flamethrower last I checked, so as long as you can aim I imagine it works just fine.

About 75% of the time it does. Styling on scrubs with pyro without W+m1'ing makes them so mad it's worth getting shit on by the comp tryhards who fear no shotgun.

TF2 is easily one of Valve's most successful games, and it could definitely benefit from a newer engine. But at the same time, Valve kinda doesn't do games any more.
What do you think a TF3 would really entail? Would it be mostly the same, and basically be an engine upgrade? Would it have new characters, even a new art style? What would a sequel to TF2 really even be?

Now, what I want and what I think we would get are two very different things.
But I'd just want a new engine, everything good rebuilt from the ground up. Then fix weapons, etc.
For everything else, I just want more Tf2. Sane artstyle, same characters, all weapons we currently have, etc. And you should be able to use your TF2 stuff in TF3, like your cosmetics. After the comics story ends, let's say Grey Mann actually had two children, and now they're fighting over their inheritance. Maybe a few character differences, like some aging and extra scars, but nothing serious.
TF2 is close to perfection and I just want more.

TF2 with a better engine and more dev support
Expectations:

You can go back to TF2 right before release and change the stock secondary on either Scout or Engie, as well as three out of the shotgun classes. Also the melees for all classes but Spy.
What would you change?

make some more unique secondaries and melees that revolve more around the demoman's core role rather than a gimmick combo that completely changes how he plays.
