I'm contemplating about buying this game and I've seen/read a lot of positive/hype things about this game, so now I would like to know all the bad things about it but except the negative reviews I don't know where else to see the critique.
Please list all the negatives/cons you can think of so I can form a complete picture or just talk about the game I suppose. Also did anyone played the Finland Winter War mod yet?
Shit's fun as fuck, though RO2 has better atmosphere. >Also did anyone played the Finland Winter War mod yet? Yeah, it's pretty much RO2 with RS2 enchantments. They reimplemented stamina and forced to deploy machine guns to aim.
Michael Sanchez
The little bit i played was ok, but i could never find any populated servers. It was probably just my area or shitternet or maybe its a dead game, but when all i can play is the training stuff alone, i refunded it.

>The little bit i played was ok, but i could never find any populated servers. Nigger what?

Complete shitfest on average public, even worse than Battlefield. Then a competent commander steps up with 3000 hours under his belt, perfectly coordinates his team and stomps the entire map within 15 minutes. its fun with the commander and ragequitting bad when being on the bad team.
red orchestra 2 was a hell of a lot better than rising storm 2 even with them leaving it in a buggy mess with the final "patch"
Aiden Parker
>pros good mix of realism and fun optimized (works on my machine) campaign mode holiday themed events and double XP events updates are somewhat common great sound design >cons players are retards players are retards players are retards If you like the veet-nam war as a setting then it's a game for you, just be willing to give up playing for an hour or two when you end up in a stinker team.
I like it, though I haven't played a lot in a while. Be aware it probably won't get supported much now that '83 is on the horizon.

RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE
Eli Sanders
It's fun imo but RO2 is still much better.
Kevin Thomas
Im pretty sure there wasnt ever a multiplayer shooter in which good teammates are a common thing
Wyatt Thompson
i havent played RO2 since it came out. The cover system and all the tank maps being garbage completely turned me off of that game and RS2 did everything so much better i never went back. has it changed significantly?
Henry Campbell
You're probably right, but I'm a hopeful person.
Cameron Garcia
players being retards are half of the fun
Samuel Martinez
>'83 is on the horizon.
What's the point of this? How will this be different than Insurgency but with Warsaw Pact weaponry and uniforms? There are already so many half arsed "realistic" shooters out there. What new or unique thing will 83 even offer apart from the timeline? Legit curious.
they glitched the tickets on most (possibly all) of the tank maps with one of their last patches and never fixed it tank maps were pretty fun if you had a reliable crew they were also a hell of a lot better before they decided to add so many unnecessary light tanks
Michael Hughes
83' is a fucking novelty project, and isn't even produced by Tripwire, the people who actually funded Antimatter's development of Rising Storm 2. There are things known as contracts which bind AMG to continue the development of RS2.

steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1711927130 If people want some RO2 type gameplay this just came out and his ran on a PBS EU server. It"s bretty good.
Gavin Baker
What happened to those mega servers, 64 vs 64 on those maps was fun as fuck and I don't care about any of that rank 99 shit because it didn't put me there
Ian Adams
The servers exploded and then got banned because their moderators were flipping out on the game's forums.
Aiden Young
It's pretty clear RS2 is at the very tail end of its development cycle... Which explains why they announced '83 and why the 1.3 is taking so long. It's most likely the last content update RS2 is gonna get so they make sure everything works right.
Xavier Martinez
my problems with the tank maps where that at the time they all restricted the tank to a specific area. so frustrating to get this hyped up super-realisticly modeled tank interior and then realizing youre pretty much a turret on rails. on launch they also only had one tank per side. sounds a lot better now but honestly i dont even like world war 2 as a setting
Gavin Cooper
In my opinion the two worst things about the game are the amount of shots it takes to kill someone (even with .30 cal weaponry and above) and the insane recoil of many of the weapons. It's like they're being fired by someone who's never held a gun before in their life which might be intentional honestly.
Pros? The shotgun isn't a useless piece of shit outside of five feet away from you. I was genuinely surprised to be making kills 20-50 meters away with well placed shots, so few games recognize how narrow the spread of a 12 gauge really is all things considered.
Lincoln Brown
Antimatter doesn't own RS2, Tripwire does, regardless of what happens in 83's development if Antimatter is still under contract, they will keep working on RS2, and when they are out of contract Tripwire will either find another studio, or take up the job themselves, to update the game and release the eventual Red Orchestra 3 expansion.
Connor Anderson
>Insane amount of shot You can 1 hit people with a pistol if you're close enough >recoil That's true, but I'm pretty sure they've toned it down before, and you should abuse the steadying system, resting against shit makes the recoil way more manageable
Brody Howard
picking helos out of the sky with an rpg is fun enough to buy this game
Jordan Anderson
>hopeful I lost that hope 1 month after playing mw2
Oliver Rogers
That's because you play shit like Call of Duty, and not good hopeful games made for hopeful people.
Brandon Scott
worth it alone for the winter war mod - but the base game is kino too
Lincoln Edwards
Any modded servers on RO2 to max level? I'm sick of not being able to use all the guns
Aiden Miller
bruh just buy the game and find out its like 30 bucks and even less on g2a
Wyatt Smith
You can kill anyone with one shot if you're that close, but why should an M14 take five or more rounds center mass to take someone down?
Ryder Young
It's fucking horse shit, everyone just plays it like CoD so it's more fast paced run and gun rather than be high stakes. Also the netcode/hit reg is awful, you can get multiple headshots along with the "ping" sound effect which are supposed to be one-shot kills but you never actually kill them
It was a problem during the beta and it's always been a problem even when they supposedly fix it
