I'll be honest, I hated the fact that as a strategy game, it was so bad that it drove me to cheese every level with orders. Once I became used to cheesing, and turned order combinations into a minigame of itself, and it became fun.

I never got his squad story but I was skimming through the personnel stuff in HQ and saw the "presents as feminine" part and got suspicious

Lancers are worthless in 4. I only use a lancer in the final mission. With demolition boost. And penetration.

All you need is a mortar though. One hit will kill the tank if you stack orders.

does grenadier intercept fire ever hit? for some reason the AI can sometimes hit me but I never see my own grenadiers land a shot

also that last part of chapter 4 where the game lets you place some squad members but they get one shot at the start, this game's evil

They should have tried the Fire Emblem approach and focus more on the waifu interactions. You cant do any JRPG without those features nowadays
