I tried replaying Andromeda IT'S SO BAD what really kills the game is the sandbox, and the uninspired locations. Once you get to the "Krogran settlement", it's like again? by that point. Dragon Age Inquisition had similar problems and to this day whenever I even try to playthrough DAI I never actually make it to the last dlc, to this day I have never played the main ending dlc that I bought.

I just finished up Feros right now and holy shit, I can't wait to get over ME1. The planet geometry is fucked on the planet exploration segments, the shotguns are the worst ones I've ever fired, the shooting in general is unsatisfying. I only enjoy using the sniper rifle. The powers are so janky, compared to later games and the overheat system is just a chore. Especially, if you get the overheat bug. These systems needed major reworkings that simply could not be fixed in the timeframe of ME2's development. It was a compromise, maybe, but it produced a better end result, faster. Except for the planet scanning.

Overall I like what ME2 did with weapons and combat, though I do miss how free and open ME1 combat was, rather than the game being segmented into combat and non/combat areas, in ME1 the game felt more seamless.

The Uncharted Worlds were a nice idea, but the problem was they weren't hand-crafted and didn't really have much point to them. They needed unique items and characters and quests to find and interact with. ME2 went too far in removing the free-roaming ones completely, though I do think having some side-missions be these smaller, instanced areas was a good idea.

Because you wouldn't visit the same patches of land over and over again and to handcraft the planets all over, it would take a ludicrous amount of time. As for the shooting, the game is on UE3. It was made for shooters.They worked on things they could, making the guns feel more unique from each other and carrying an appropriate amount of feedback and, well, the reloading mechanic was probably pre-built into the engine, so just scrape the overheat meter and use the default engine system, which works just as well.

Bioware is fullon purity faggotry when ever it is about aliens that aren't Asari and I always hated that bias to my guts. All you get when romancing them is one offscreen sex scene at one point of the games and that's it.
If they do a space game they should do it right and if they are too much pussies to do it they should rather stick to an Earth-only game, it's obvious that they aren't much of a fan of anyone that isn't a human or an Asari, regardless of how many fans Quarians and Turians have as well as other species probably too.

To be honest all romances felt stiff as shit to me. It's always out of nowhere and when you usually after you barely even talked with them. It would have been way better if they asked you if you want to go drinking with them a few times, things like these, and then you see these scenes and talk about different things with them. Some slow step by step development that might as well just be a developing friendship until you meet up with them at home or so and get the option to do more with them. Without a fade out of the scene, please.

Yeah, that bothers me too. A lot of games do that, but I think this was done mostly because Bioware seemed to hit a brick wall with the PS3 hardware that didn't allow them to do things the way they wanted to. In ME3 there isn't even a holster animation, because, as Chris Priestly had explain way back in the days BSN wasn't a complete shit hole, the holster animation took up 2 MB of PS3 system RAM that could be used elsewhere.

Like settling for a handful of handcrafted planets to roam around, instead of none. Yeah, I get that. Andromeda did that, as well. They had 3. It's the best game that it could have been, in the timeframe it was given. Could it be done better? Yeah, but with more time and money and perhaps a different publisher as well. So lets enjoy it for being good, because it was good and accomplishing what it did in the time it had, rather than shoot for the stars and get Andromeda instead.

Didn't they even have issues in ME1 like giving Saren his proper appearances that mutates over time? It's why everyone acts like a retard and nobody seems to notice or mention that he's basically a machine with cables everywhere and glowing parts.

I also disliked how stiff everything was. I still remember how much of a letdown the Benezia scene was. I got Liara with me when I fought her and expected some sad drama but all she did was moving a bit forward, stiffly like a puppet and sad something like "oh.. mother.." and just right after that the scene cuts to the usual game play and everyone spits out the same lines about "this planet" being "cold and snowy" and it always pissed me off for how anticlimactic everything was. Most of the game is like that, same with killing Dr. Heart and all that side mission shit, you just kill them and that's it despite that it seemed to be important earlier and some rather big thing. ME1 had a lot of great content but the execution was mostly retarded.

Played MW1 some time ago so I don't remember properly anymore but I know there were a lot of issues I even had with the main plot that made so sense or felt contrived, as if they had changed parts of the plot while the game was already long since in production.
