>98 Metascore Yea Forums?
nah becasue it doesn't exist, but GTAIV does

it was paid for by nintendo, dragon age inquisition is unironically a better game

It deserves a 0/100 because it's literal shit.

98?
It doesn't have that.
Have sex.

nope
overrated and there was nothing """"genre defining"""" about a generic open world with derivative puzzle dungeons

rockstar always wins, it's unfair

Should have been 100 desu, it's perfect.

No, Rockstar games are always terrible so GTA4 doesn’t deserve a 98 either. All of these games do deserve one though
> Perfect Dark
> Metroid Prime
> Super Mario 64
> Shadow Of The Colossus
> Super Metroid

No, it's one of the worst games I have ever played, a genuinely 1/10 game.

>No, Rockstar games are always terrible
sucks Nintendo can no longer compete with R*. Bu that''s been the case since 2001

Seeing as every journalist admitted that GTA4 is terrible, it’s clear that it’s score was blantantly paid off. SoulCalibur & Ocarina are the only games to earn a 98 or higher without paid reviews

Nintendo hasn’t made a good game since 2010, but the fact that nobody actually likes Rockstar games outside RDR1 proves that they are all paid off

>Seeing as every journalist admitted that GTA4 is terrible
none have though, many actually have shilled it years later

IGN came out an said that GTa4 was a overrated piece of shit, despite giving it a 10/10

nice lie bro

they shouldve made zelda brown

He isn’t lying, keep coping. They are admitting that they were paid to review these games highly. Meaning that all of their Metascores are invalidated now

On a technical level is there any game that challenges BOTW for achievement?

Why are people so angry about Breath of the Wild? It's a great game, deserving its score.

I have played over 400 games and I haven't played anything like it.

Nintendo made it & all of the acclaim people give Zelda makes people jealous & seethe with anger

That's one person's opinion and was also took from IGN's sister site geek.com retard

Why does Japan wanna be rockstar so fucking bad?

>a single opinion piece invalidates the entire editorial line of a 20 year old website
Ah, to be 14 and fucking idiotic again...

Dude what, there's nothing technically impressive about botw.

reminder, there's no Nier series without GTAIV

SEETHING

Based

It only scored so high because of the contrast to everything coming out these days. Everything is so fucking scripted leaving the player often feeling like they don't have any agency.

'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses, drivin' fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap

Why am I mad again? Because some anonymous kid can't read?

its pretty boring, i did the first guardian then stopped playing

because its a pretentious game
drones think it set the standard for open world games when in fact it was already clinging on the coattails of previously established open world tropes
host of problems like derivative puzzle design for all the 100+ shrines you visit in the game, the shallow combat, and the lack of any challenge
it's an okay exploration game, but nowhere near a 10/10

Is the game worth starting in master mode? Or should I do normal first?

I did play a decent chunk of the game, but I was finding it mind numbingly easy.

It's a shit game but I recommend going back and doing hyrule Castle, you don't actually have to beat all the beasts to enter and its decent fun.

All the interacting systems is extremely impressive. I don't think any game has as much going on dynamically that all works so well together (unlike e.g. Bathesda games where it just results in comical bugginess). Pretty much everything in BOTW is dynamic and systems based, where just about everything in every other game is pre-baked and 'fake'. That goes for superficially similar open world games like GTA, Horizon, Red Dead.

That it runs on the Wii U is doubly astounding.

>pretentious
It lacks any false pretense, it is what it is.
>it really didn't set the standard for open world games
Mention the game that did.
If it's same old semi linear restrictive scripted checkmark based collectathon crap then your opinion is invalid
>derivative puzzles
So puzzles that build atop themselves are bad because...? Also they are radically different, it's just the level design that's similar
L
>shallow combat
You can experiment with it, or you can mash Y and then complain
>lack of any challenge
Three heart runs can get intense.

RDR2 is the most technically impressive game out there though kiddo. Sakurai had to come out and say it's the standard Japan has to live up to now.

It might look cool and have cute fire animations but its design is restrictive and linear.

Master isn't worth playing imo, if you want it to be challenging do a 3 hearts run instead

No.

BotW is a 9/10 game, very good but has some annoying flaws such as the framerate, enemy pop-ins, weapon """"""durability""""" system

Still highly recommend it though. Definitely a must-own for the Switch

Red dead has nothing close to the systems BOTW does. It's entirely superficial gloss on a shallow restrictive engine.

>Red dead has nothing close to the systems BOTW does. It's entirely superficial gloss on a shallow restrictive engine.
doesn't change the fact a high up Nintendo dev came out and said it's standard setter anons

wccftech.com/ssb-creator-take-hat-off-spider-man-rdr2/

thanks, i will. maybe ill just rush all the beasts

And what does that change? Its design is still linear and scripted, it might be the gold standard for production values but that's not game design.

>it might be the gold standard for production values but that's not game design.
>There are several things, but one of them is realising how truly impressive recent games are. I’ve recently played games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man and Red Dead Redemption 2, and I have to take my hat off to the sheer scale and detail in these games. As someone who creates games myself, I really do understand the extraordinary amount of effort that is required to make them. It’s definitely difficult to create games like that here in Japan.

Fuck off

youtube.com/watch?v=UJ6JgyFtzhs

Read Dead has better ragdoll (that goes back to GTA4) but in every other way BOTW is doing a lot more in terms of physics/systems/AI.

not it's not

youtube.com/watch?v=ArlISS6C0Zs
youtube.com/watch?v=Dt4aiovANm4&t=

A lot more going in RDR2's sandbox and AI user. Most things shown off here aren't present in BotW especially the way random AI responds to the player.

BotW only has better player choice when it comes to approaching situations

No, it deserved a 100.

Yes

No, it deserves a 96.

>Does BOTW really deserve its 98 Metascore Yea Forums?

yes, factoring the 3D Zelda Bonus (15 points). 82 (real score) + 15 (Nintendo Bonus) = 97

The sliding rocks thing is seriously cool.

Also it'd be fun / incredibly disturbing to implement the slow-dying animals and vulture-pecked-corpses in BOTW.
