what are some actually good mobile games? they can be ports of console/PC games or whatever, i'm fine with anything as long as it's not a typical Google Store piece of shit with ads etc. currently I only have YuGiOh Duel Links installed. thinking of installing a PSP or DS emulator. is 3DS emulation possible on Android yet? thanks for any recommendations etc.

There are a lot of ports of old CRPGs like Baldurs Gate 1&2, Planescape Torment, KOTOR and stuff. Also Civ VI and Total War Rome if you're into that kinda stuff.
I also recommend PUBGmobile, it plays pretty well for a mobile TPS.

ICEY, Stardew Valley and Minecraft are on Android and work ok.
A lot of Squeenix's and Rockstars' older games have also been ported to Android and iOS, but most GTA games will run like ass on newer version of android at least and have a lot of visual glitches. There's also a pretty good conversion of Doom called Freedoom, it includes recreations of Doom 1 and 2 using their own designs of monsters and weapons but most importantly will allow you to run pretty much any .WAD on it, so you can just throw the actual games into it or Hexen/Heretic if that's more your style.
You should get a controller for your phone if you plan on actually playing anything, including emulation. Outside of turn based games nothing really works with a touch screen.

You absolutely can, yeah, but it's just not super practical for portability if you plan on taking shit on the go, which I guess I don't know is something that interests you. I got a cheap one for that, so that it's more comfortable to play on it and it doesn't take up much real estate in a bag or whatever. Plus if it brakes in there it's not such a big deal as if it were my behemoth of an xbone controller.
I would recommend you at least get a phone holder for your DS4 regardless. It really brings the whole experience to a whole other level in terms of comfort.
Also, I just remembered a few more games: Banner Saga 1 and 2, Titan Quest, Neverwinter Nights and Cultist Simulator. Mount and Blade Warband also has an Android port, but it was designed for the nvidia shield, so I don't know if it would work on normal phones. I think one or two Metal Gear Solid games are in that same situation.
