she has an entire skill tree based on coop so its unusable in solo(extremely bad game design) but other than that shes fun

only if you dont want to be able to play the high difficulty. on the same level as claptrap, but not as much fun because she doesnt actively annoy your co op buddies

As someone playing BL2 with the all the DLC for the first time, I can't see any reason to play someone besides Gaige and Krieg. Their skill trees are way more interesting and fun to play with than the original four.

I mostly agree, but I really like Salvador with Auto Loader and Money Shot. Its pretty geared towards solo play, so a lot less fun when my friends actually get on, but it is a blast to just run around never reloading anything.

I like the world, enemies, and writing more in 2, but TPS is a blast with double jumps and elemental slams. And I find the PC's to be much more enjoyable to build. I think every character has really fun builds. Wilhelm was my first and I had a blast with the two drones, but Nisha and Athena have amazing skills. Claptrap is a bit too RNG based for my taste, but not a bad characer at all.

The two DLC characters are pretty damn broken, just like in BL2.

TPS should have been Borderlands 2, it has a much better gameplay and playable characters. It doesn't have much content though, not a fan of dlc usually but the 4 big dlc in 2 were great. Amara looks like she has cool powers, and seemingly multiple action skills, but Moze got some of that mech action going on. Don't really know about FL4K yet, cool design but I don't really like pet classes where the pet just flies around like an AI and does some attacks once in a while.
Zane also seemingly has multiple action skills, the Decoy and the Drone.

Athena because she's just way more fun than Nisha.

Yeah the new Siren has been described as pummeling enemies with her powers like fists, seems like she has multiple action skills, or at least multiple ways to use her arms.
From what we've seen so far the action skill she has lets her go into an animation which summons six or so arms, and we've seen her use these arms to do different things. There's a phaselock like Maya has but we've also seen a shot of her ground pounding with all six arms.

How the sweet FUCK did the Goliath XP stacking work? Loading screen tip claimed it tripled the XP of enemies it killed. In practice it did nothing of the sort, often giving less XP than one of the enemies it killed, especially if you let it kill a high value target like a miniboss.

I’m replaying 2 right now and it’s honestly really tedious as well. The side quests are pure backtracking and the world feels completely dead when playing alone.
I hope 3 improves on this and have actual friendly NPCs out there in the world as dymanic encounters, more wild life and critters to make the world come alive etc.

Lady Hammerlock is good, solo. Her other two trees do some fun stuff with snipers. Like, there is a perk that gives you a bump to your stats if you shoot at a guy and then miss. It's called Warning Shot, and if you make the next shot it does a shitload of damage. But, since you had to shoot at a guy, and miss, making that next shot is pretty hard to do. so, its a lot like betting on how skillful you are. I think her other skill tree amps up her little ice thingie. its not as powerful as Deathtrap, but it is a little AI backup, since snipers are pretty weak on solo runs

I didn't have so much of an issue with this.
The post apoc setting made it so that things feeling dead was appropriate, the problem is they try to make it lively in certain places.
The backtracking sidequests are pretty ass though. I prefer the ones that take you to optional areas or that you do on your way through main questline.
But even then backtracking doesn't take too much time since you already know the route and can just ignore a lot of things on your way.

My main issue with BL is the obnoxious exponential scaling. After about level 25 guns start getting obsolete fast.
While it does provide a bit of a challenge and forces you to mix things up by constantly changing your arsenal it feels like I'm spending a lot of time grinding for better gear instead of focusing on grinding actual levels. I know they pretty much go hand in hand but it's a feeling I just can't shake off.

One more thing. I want an actual selection of guns.
This BILLIONS OF GUNS shit is total bait because it's just randomized numbers.
I feel like I'm using a brand over an actual gun and without certain talents a lot of their gimmicks just feel like ass.
I know there's a good handful of legendary guns available in the endgame with unique and strong/whacky effects but man I just want meaty, reliable guns so I end up just using a Jakobs 90% of the time.
Bandit guns are cool for when you're in the thick of the fight but without talents for fire rate/mag size/accuracy they can feel like shit at mid range.
I hope they bring back Atlas guns.

Everyone pretty much agree on the scaling being really bad. I hate finding and epic or legendary that turn into a complete peashooter after two levels while the enemies can kill you in a couple of hits late game. Some of the characters are also really tedious to play alone when you constantly get killed by bandits farting on you

I don't know, I remember all my playthroughs of BL2 as zero to be pretty damn silent. I feel like when you play him you never see his face emotes or hear him speak that much. One of the reasons I love the TPS so much, your characters actually feel like character because they talk.

No, I was one of the people who thought it was better than BL2 in almost EVERY way. I was completely shocked when the I saw the common opinion was that the game was trash.

Better gameplay, better story, more guns, more verticality, better character interactions. The only thing TPS is missing is level variety. But to be fair I never did super late game grinding for loot so if that had issues then I didn't see them.

The Jakobs guns look so much better in BL3. They were hideous, gaudy, and overdesigned in 2, which completely went against the company's foundation of "simple, reliable, old fashioned, and STRONK".

Nah, Athena was tricked into killing all of the assassins, which is the reason why she went rogue to begin with in the Knoxx DLC.

The rest of the Vault Hunters kill the remaining assassins as they were sent periodically across the DLC to kill you.

Athena is the last of the Crimson Lance Assassins and it'll stay that way unless Rhys manages to upstart them again.

I didn't like Hyperion weapons at first but they're really good depending on the situation
Insane hipfire accuracy makes them great in Fight for your Life or against fast moving bosses, but they really need large mag or a fast reload speed.
With certain talents they really shine but while leveling they're generally pretty bad.

Personally Dahl burst fire is a terrible gimmick. I'e picked up a fair share of rare Dahl guns that have improved fire rate/accuracy when firing from the hip rather than aiming. I guess it can be okay if you get an allegiance relic for Dahl to decrease time between burst shots but yeah otherwise I find it to be really underwhelming.

I didn't like Hyperion pistols until I got one with a vladof barrel. That thing shredded.
