Pros and cons?

pros and cons?

i loved both system shocks

i mean apart from denuvo

Intro is literally a different game to the main game and I was hooked, less hooked afterwards

Game is basic and functional (random buzzwords i'm using).

Still gave me a good impression though

I cannot play games that have ugly women on them

It can be pretty damn tense if you don't savescum too much.

I've played for the first time in 2017 for like 8 hours and forgot about it. Got back to it last year with a fresh save and played it for 17 hours straight without breaks. If you like immersive sims then it's a must-have.

sounds good. i loved arx fatalis too

Did not like it. Really thought I would but no. Got so boring I couldn't even force myself to finish it. Everything in the game is so lame and made for redditors.

Pros:
Fun story, great exploration and freedom, top notch atmosphere

Cons:
Gets a bit too easy after the first 1/3rd, poor enemy variety

I really recommend it, though, what a fun game

>Pros
It is a real immersive sim. If you've been itching for one, this will definitely scratch it.
>Cons
It doesn't really push beyond the borders of System Shock 2.

This but put the ending as a con.

cons
the DUDE IT WAS ALL JUST A DREAM LMAO! ending
loading times
lots of tedious backtracking later in the game, said loading screens make it worse
denuvo
weapon variety is not great
poor enemy variety
everybody is lesbian/gay in the game
weak sound design/mixing

other than that I really liked it. level design is great and good atmosphere.

it's literally just a system shock successor with everything worse except for the animations and graphics, hard pass

Play on Hard and Survival, the first hours will be a nightmare to get through

I like it cause it didn’t come out of nowhere, you’re slowly realizing your true nature as the game goes along

Played the demo and it was terribly boring at first, started getting good around 6th hour and then it ended (ran out of content), so I'm on the fence
Enemies are dogshit

I played for only like 2 hours at launch, but I must say this game has one of the least intrusive and tedious crafting systems. Would've been better without crafting at all, but as it is it's not so bad.

Pros: Nonliner problem solving, interesting setting. Decently fun minute to minute.

Cons: enemy types are complete ass, few weapons, horrible ending.

I hated the demo, it made me not buy the game at launch. I bought it recently with the Mooncrash dlc and I thought it was one of the best games I played recently.

It's worth playing if you haven't played Bioshock 1/2/3.

It's just more of the same if you have.

>pros
>i loved both system shocks
IMO, it's the best "shock" game, sublime presentation and level design, greatly varied weapons and a great PC port to boot, it's also a very unique take on the idea of first contact with an alien species and without spoiling to much, the framing device for the story makes any playthrough 100% immersive and in-character no matter what you do, it's my personal GOTY 2017.

>cons
The beginning of the game is brutally difficult, everything besides the mimics can one or two shot you with little warning and the few weapons you have aren't the least bit effective, the exterior of Talos is not gated at all and it's very easy to put yourself in a no-win situation by getting the attention of a telepath or technopath with nowhere to hide, the audio mix is also still not 100% perfect and the volume of certain things can be a little overwhelming.

You'll probably enjoy it a lot, play it.

If you loved system shock you will like this

>pros
expansive levels that are rewarding to explore every inch of
actual useful environmental interactions
best implementation of vaulting since thief and lots of verticality to make it useful as well as the gloo gun
dynamic progression
zero g is amazing
unique interesting enemies if you let them do their thing
>cons
lot's of areas feel unfinished for example the medical area in the lobby was supposed to be it's own level altogether and others you never revisit like deep storage
weapon lineup isn't very interesting and caters more to bioshock crowd, I forget there were even grenades.
weapon upgrades are very generic
crafting some items kinda feels like more cut content
survival mechanics they re-added are still a bit shallow
It's unbelievably easy to become overpowered without even trying
enemies aren't effective enough to be a threat, you can get the drop on them 100% of the time this leads to brainlets saying they are generic or >poor enemy variety
buggy nightmare
didn't care for any characters or details of the story
Load times near the end where you are just going back and forth between several levels

I could think of more stuff but overall it's good, lots of replay value it's one of those games you find new stuff in every time you replay it
>just more bioshock
wrong

>enemies aren't effective enough to be a threat

my only problem with it is that the AI is kinda bad, Nightmare was buggy as fuck, would often get stuck in the environment or not follow you properly. He was supposed to be a threat like Nemesis, but it was really easy to circumvent him

pros is big maps with lots of ways to traverse them
cons is limited weapon and enemy variety with no ammo types

quit saying immersive sim. its makes you look really stupid

I wish the new weapons and shit added to Mooncrash were added to the main game...

Oh oh he said immer*ve s*m!!! Stoopd!

I like it but it's full of bugs, frozen 2 times already
