When did you realize that Final Fantasy VIII is the best game in the series?

How so? Seifer was all about muh knight with little to no motivation other than that. He also had way less screen time than Balthier and the same time had way more autisitc tantrums.

I think people got fixated on drawing and junctioning because of the horrendously dragged tutorials. On the flip-side GF abilities were kinda glossed over.

I don't care really, I replay it every year or two. I like it the way it is.

After I had played most of the other games. And realized every FF game has the same formula. Great starting premise and first act, then falls apart somewhere in the middle. Final Fantasy VIII is no different. But it has the best first half of any FF game.

However, it was later surpassed by this game. Turns out when you remove the bad story and break the series down to just its best parts, music, gameplay and character customization, Final Fantasy actually gets good.

my god, i need a fucking rpgmmo based on FVIII lore with Gardens and SEED and witches an all the shit and triple triad.

A remake would be good. But Square would fuck it up, like they have every previous FF remake. So no thanks.

Plus, there's just too much they'd have to change in the remake. They'd have to basically change the entire story to 1) Get rid of Rinoa and 2) Focus more on Laguna's story influencing time travel. And Square would never allow that. Their remakes are just graphical upgrades with all the same flaws the original game had.
