Can it really be called the "original studio" when the people who made Ratchet left the company?
Was thieves in time really that bad? Ive only played the first 3, but i enjoyed watching the animated cutscenes for 4 on youtube. Was the gameplay worse or less intuitive?
Rachet and Clank is fun but just lacks content
The writing and dialogue is noticeably worse then the other games, the atmosphere is much less dark, and the main villain is weak and nonthreatening compared to Clockwork, Neyla, and Dr M
People shit on it way too fucking hard. It's better than 3 for what's it worth but worse than 1 and 2. People that act like 3 is good at all are delusional.
“Darkness” aside they added motion controls which sucked.
this is remake user....
and its fucking worse than original
>just lacks content
No, it also lacks the witty writing and character dynamic of the original
It feels like it's original identity has been sanitized to be more kid friendly and marketable
It wasn't the original studio, everyone who worked on Spyro/Ratchet just sits in on board room meetings and don't make games anymore.
3's only problem is too many minigames and gimmick characters everything else is great
People hate the story, but the set pieces and gameplay are decent and nothing offensive in terms of how Sly controls. People like these games for their story instead of the game part, and these are the people that shit on the fourth game all the time. I just think of it as a fun fangame honestly.
The PS4 game was a reboot, you nitwit
Sly 4 was fucking full of soul and the gameplay was solid, what are you on about? The only misstep it took was turning Penelope into an evil bitch for whatever reason.
Not sure about R&Cmake but from what I've seen it definitely doesn't look bad either. Probably even better than the Crash/Spyro remakes and I loved those (some criticisms aside).
Ratchet 2016 wasn't that bad
just kidding, fuck that game and fuck the fact that I'll never truly 100% it because of the fucking preorder bonus bouncer
Remake, reboot, either way it was shit
Which is more surprising?
>SOULFUL remake by the original studio
vs
>SOULFUL remake by another studio
>Probably even better than the Crash/Spyro remakes
It isn't. It changed too much to fit with the shitty movie tie in. It's a fine game on it's own, but a terrible retelling of the original.
(you)
Left one hit harder because the gameplay is actually worse than even the original game. The only real things Thieves in Time is guilty of is the weirdo graphics for the fur and the final boss being an underwhelming QTE section.
God, Rearmed is so good. How's Rearmed 2?

I don't see how any fan of the original can defend the remake
didn't play any of the sly games but ratchet 2016 was bad
this video kind of sucks, all that time and it doesn't really go into all that much detail about how the remake botches the gameplay. It gets the key points but doesn't go into any real detail there.
The Ratchet remake steps down a lot of the gameplay and fucks up a lot of the cutscenes so it's that sort of generic three-quarters face talking heads and it removed the booby bot from that shows up when you win the hoverboard race. Wrench is fucking terrible to use in this one.
I found it just as fun, if not more fun because the devs were free to open up the levels more rather than stick to the layouts of the original. I know a lot of people will whine about the changes to the controls. There were some slight tweaks to the grappling mechanics, and the addition of a jump button, but the new jump is so pitiful that you still 100% depend on swinging to traverse. The jump just gets you that little extra bit of height to reach far off platforms with your hook or jump off ledges that have nothing to swing on over you. It's a shame that the game will be forever trapped on PS3/360.
Holy shit, it's thegamingincelshow. Old good, new bad. Praise the sun my fellow hardc0re gamers. Now check out my berserk tattoo.
3 years... I haven't been forgotten.

Sly 4 felt like such a step back storywise, especially ending it with a QTE boss battle and cliffhanger
The villains after El Jefe were just underwhelming and the time travel gimmick got old really quick
The ancestors were also all incompetent and stupid and required Sly's help everytime, kinda ruining their legendary reputations in the other games
Nice argument
