How is Remnants so popular compared to MAX? MAX's website is the first result for "S4 League private server" and is pretty much download and play while Remnants is way harder to get into and needs a phone verified discord account. Is it just because it's more up to date?

The fast paced gameplay and the soundtrack are the two main factors behind my love for this game. The relatively high skill ceiling + the animeish artstyle are great bonuses. There's also the lit as fuck announcer Words cannot really describe it, playing it is a better way to check what I'm saying.
