>Snek kills me
Geez, people will have fun with that part on no death runs

Fuck off to /vg/ already

Am i supposed to explore the sunken valley before Genichiro? Because the fucker seems impossible right now

Attached: 1547177200907.png (726x528, 546K)

can i leave the bell flashback mission and return once ive powered up a little? the boss is giving me shit

HOW DO YOU DODGE THIS FUCKERS JUMPING GRAB ATTACK?

>My dumbass clicked submit without posting pic

Attached: 1554819736344.png (1080x810, 466K)

>its a "Genichiro does 5 perilous attacks in a row" episode

Attached: 1469806901595.png (400x400, 358K)

So is there a point where you can't talk to Emma about curing dragonrot? I'm after Owl and she doesn't give me the option.

Sure. You can fast travel back later.
Jump. I also failed lots of times though. Shit's fucked.

There are much worse things in the valley, but it's fine to poke around until you hit a difficulty wall.

Sprint away and jump when you hear the "you're fucked" noise.

What's she currently saying?

Any tips for owl2?

When people say a boss has phases, do they mean lifebars?

Like Genichiro had 2 lifebars, then that third bit, so does that mean he had 3 phases?

>Because we dont need 5 threads abou the same game in the catalog
Tell that to the Smashers

Yes. They’re called phases because their movesets change between them.

>Owl 2 phase 2

Attached: 1513181249392.png (346x313, 132K)

So the immortal severance ending is basically the canon ending?

did i miss the firecracker arm somewhere?
i beat the cavalry guy a while ago and still havent seen it

I FUCKING DID IT HOLY SHIT.
I DEFEATED GENICHIRO JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
MY DICK IS SO FUCKING HARD RIGHT NOW

Attached: 1531179332234.jpg (910x1024, 72K)

Oh, alright. I kept seeing pictures of the fight with Isshin and people talking about his 4 phases and thought it'd be 4 phases with 3 lifebars each time.

Attached: 1536547137996.gif (244x262, 1.85M)

vendor on a mountain before the ogre. but now that you beat oniwa, you can buy it from the vendor on the other side of the battlefield

>What's she currently saying?
She's at Dilapidated temple next to the sculptor and I can only give her Gourd Seeds and talk. If talking: Master Wolf, I pray for your victory in battle.

I'm going for the second Owl fight maybe I need to beat him?

Attached: 1540643707620.png (300x343, 192K)

No, return is the only only where Kuro, rice loli and wolf all survive to go on a journey to the west style adventure

Its definitely the most kino ending followed by Purification. I think most people consider Return canon though.

>I DEFEATED GENICHIRO
Good for you.

The true Sekiro™ Shadows Die Twice starts here.

What determines what kind of apparitions you get? first like 12 playthroughs I always seemed to get Ashina samurai appearing in places like Senpou. This time I got some enemies that sort of look like the villagers from Mibu. is it an order of events thing?

Now that I think about it. The implication isn't, that sekiro is the sculptor? He just becomes the next one?

I don't know how to avoid Owl 2's attack, where he does a string of hits followed by a huge instakill fireworks slash attack.

I got behind him once, but that was more of a fluke.

Attached: 1543471565502.png (489x424, 129K)

you now have the skills to beat the rest of the game

Yeah he's not the sculptor we met but now shares the same fate. Do you think he raped Emma in frustration tho?

deflect and when you see the gunpowder flying just jump back.

Just beat Divine Dragon and was given the key, is Isshin up next or is there other stuff to do? I haven't done DoH but I heard if you do certain things you can't fight it or something.

Also Fountainhead Palace is the best location in the game.

I wish I could invade people that actually lure the big baby to Doujin

Attached: 1501091296930.png (184x184, 73K)

You mean he lets you completely destroy his posture five times in a row?

You only miss all this when you pick the Shura ending, DoH is where you fought horse guy. Story wise the final boss should be next

Watch his hands when he spreads the gunpowder and dodge forward-left or -right when he detonates it.

>Sekiro support thread
can you fags take this to /vg/? This game is dead and anyone who needs help has the internet.

>Playing in German for NG++ for giggles
It's not anywhere near as bad as expected though. I am still surprised they even bothered to implement anything but Japanese and English voices. Devs stopped doing that like 10 years ago.

t. ragequit

>too many white people
Are you implying that niggers can't get a medical degree?

>Singleplayer game is dead
Dumb zoomy zoom

You can play Bloodborne in German which is the best option in my opinion.

How do I get the timing right on the big jump slam on the fire demon boss? Am i supposed to not be close?

Either run away or just use fire umbrella

Just use Fire Umbrella.

Run away from him, you can smack him a few times when he lands

>Owl 2 tips
His firecracker slash is the major killer. If he ever shoulder checks you he’s about to do the slash, but you can use the fire umbrella to punish it

>kill snek asshole who attacked me minding my own business on a bridge
>go into some monkey area where they're firing guns and shit at me
>drop all the way to the bottom
>behind a crow merchant go down into some purple haze cave
>wall niggas stabbing me and geckos puking on me
>some snek fuck hanging around
>see some wooden shack at the end of it all and then a third snek appears who fucks me up as I run across to it

what the fuck is this section of the game

or just dodge through his swing after he tosses the powder, its pretty forgiving. he has the same ability in the first fight so people should know the timing

There are only two snakes.

>figure only "resurrecting" can cause dragonrot because the game says so and what would be the point of not resurrecting
>not resurrecting also causes dragonrot
so explain to me why the option of dying even exists? is it literally just to give up?

there's the snek who attacks you on the bridge, him I killed from the senpou cave place

then in the vape cave there's the body of a snek who doesn't attack you, but the one at the end of the cave who does attack seems to be totally separate from the one chilling

shhhhhhhhhh

Attached: 20190413165925_1.jpg (1920x1080, 302K)

>is it literally just to give up?
Pretty much, or if you don't want to spend your second/third resurrection charge.

Attached: 20190330212055_1.jpg (1920x1200, 290K)

Demon of Hatred is a huge cunt holy shit, my fault for not dodging and deflecting properly but I never had this much trouble since Jobichiron first real fight.

What kind of playstyle for Owl 1?
For some reason i can kill Owl 2 very easy but Owl 1 tear my asshole open.

get to his ass and run with him when he dashes away. there's some nuance to how close you are and what attack he'll do in accordance but you'll get it

Don't spam R1, you'll get stuck in an attack animation and won't be able to move/deflect when needed. Keep on his left foot (your right) and every swipe he does will miss. Jump as soon as he does his perilous charge. If you have trouble with his fire attacks when he's at range then use your flame umbrella.

How the fuck do i get the lightning block skill? I need that to kill the white thunder dragon

I mean lets be real dragonrot is irrelevant as well

why would you want to block it?

Finally got Owl 2 down after 30 minutes.

Resurrecting DOESN'T cause Dragonrot.
ONLY dying the final death causes Dragonrot.
Plus if you don't die often, like only every 20 minutes or so, then that might not cause Dragonrot at all. (Aside from the very first time every NG cycle, which is scripted so you could get the cure from Ema)

are you talking about lightning reversal? It's really blocking, you have to be in the air and press r1 as the lightning hit you, you won't get damage and if you aim well it will deflect it to the ennemy, you don't have to buy it

I thought I was supposed to deflect it back to the dragon.

dogen is mentioned million times in game. what's the chances he will be in the dlc alongside with tomoe?

The game should've been more clear between the differences of actually pressing the RESURRECT button and resurrecting in the games narrative.

no you always want to get hit by lightning while in the air, you can hit r1 to send it back at the enemy before you hit the ground. It can be tricky to time but against that boss you can't fuck it up

Yeah, I kinda agree. But using your metagaming knowledge and the common sense you can guess that using the game's core mechanic isn't something you will get punished for. While actually failing, despite having two lives is.

Genichiro 3rd phase is bullshit. Too much RNG involved. Dropped the game, the "gitgud" meme went too far this time.

Attached: 1546362348194.png (960x675, 826K)

When he does a shoulder charge, its the crackers+slash combo. When he throws the powder out, step back and wait for the slash, as soon as its out step forward and punish him for it. You could also step forward as soon as you deflect the slash after the shoulder charge, to get behind him, but I found that works half the time as I sometimes got hit by his slash while getting behind him. Also you can get 4-5 HP hits when he does the attack where he stands still with his katana high over him. You can get 2 in before he brings it down but you have to immediately dodge left or right, then you can get atleast 2 more hits to his hp before he hops away.

I "spirited him away" like he asked .. where uhh.. where'd he go? What do ya get for sending him to the surgeon?

Well kind of, the inclusion of the option of NOT resurrecting throws that logic off. The player has to wonder why the option of choosing death exists.

do you guys ever farm skill point xp?

I have so many to get, and I inevitably lose quite a bit if I keep just pushing on into new zones

Some people just wave their hand and write off an attempt at a boss as "unlucky" or something, and prefer to reset instead of trying their best to pull it off with the remaining life.

go back to the folding screen monkeys area

h-he's with the children now

Attached: 134112126324.jpg (480x360, 27K)

Only for the achievement. But you shouldn't farm for exp on NG. Skill point cost goes up to like 80k in the end, so it's only really feasible to farm the achievement at like NG+2 or +3.

I have a feeling its another translation goof.

> Dodging
> Not using the Iron Unbrella
Dohohoho

REEE KEEP FUCKING UP THE 3RD PHASE TO FIRE DEMON.

Got the first 2 patterned down but this shit tiring

i'm getting the hang of it too, I was out of heal by the end of it but the whistle is really a life saver her

how do I get a "strong" looking guy to help that merchant loot the battlefields?

I don't have the option for purp samurai or big baby

It's actually easier than the other ones, but most people usually get there when they're out of healing.

You can't really get them all in one playthrough because the exp escales way too much. But if you want to farm some anyways good places are
Ashina Depths - Hidden Village: two ghost warriors before the bonfire. +1200xp
After the second invade to the castle: Ashina Outskirts - Outskirts Wall Stairway: 5 backstabs, +2500xp

Attached: PATHETIC.jpg (2560x1440, 683K)

Kotaro is the only option.

and how do I get him to do it?

Just beat Lady Butterfly and the horse dude last night, got past the snek and stopped where the dude is giving the speech. Should I have found more than three Prosthetics by now? How far into the game am I?

Git Gud my guy.

Sorry that jumping for a highly telegraphed move and then mashing r1 to do 10 million damage is too hard for you, user.

His third phase is the easiest, user. Just fucking beat his ass.

Kotaro=Big Baby

If you gave him the white pinwheel or sent him to the dungeons, you can't do anything.

Otherwise you give Kotaro the Red-White Pinwheel and then tell him about the peddler

right at the start

3rd phase is the easiest, though I can understand it feels bullshit that you cant really train for it because of the first 2 phases taking so long. 3rd phase is designed so that you adapt to it on the go and wing it thats why his health is very low and his posture regen is pretty much non existent. this combined with him more or less killing himself by spamming thursts and lighting you can counter when you have those moves down.

Genichiro 3rd phase is weird case.
His moveset is kind of danger but his posture is non existent and way of jobber make thing super easy.

aww shit I gave him the white pinwheel

how come the red-white one would give you a completely different option?

Lady Butterfly is just called "SCHMETTERLING" and owl is translated to "Uhu" instead of "Eule".The voice acting is alright, but whoever translated the names didn't look much into it

Can you fight owl in hirata estate but still do the return ending?

What the fuck do I do against wall ghosts when there are two in a narrow corridor

I try baiting one into appearing but when I want to strike him after, dumbass sekiro slashes the wall below and gets impaled

Also against guardian ape, should I keep my spirits to use the umbrella in phase 2 rather than firecracking phase 1?

Yes.

Just fought him for the first time today on ng+. Jesus what a great fight once you start learning it (And I still fucked up so much on my successful run)

There is only one live snake in the cave.

Personally, I hopped away after he did the knockback and ran back in with a whirlwind slash when he was done swinging

Because he is specifically looking for a white pure flower, i.e. the white pinwheel, in a field of red-white flowers, i.e. the red-white pinwheels. He doesn't want the red-white one, and by doing so he can't reunite with the children. So with no purpose he gets the options of either remaining there, going to Anayama or going to the dungeons.

whats the use of Kuro charms? Just jumped to ng+ and I don't get what it is used for

Opens up the game's true difficulty. You've been playing easy mode all along.

I'm stuck in the fountainhead palace. There's two areas I can't get to. When climbing up the main roof area with volleyball ninjas, there an area on the left with a sculptors idol that I can't get to. Also, on the right side there's an area I can't jump to, past the lightning throwing guy on the great sakura tree. I beat the shichimen warrior down below, but not the double headless underwater

>wall ghost
ignore them
>guardian ape
firecracker phase 1, spear phase 2
You can outrun his terror scream with minimum health lost.

For the one with the idol, go to the house leading into the next area that you can unlock from the other side. You should notice a cave when looking back to where you came from.
For the other one, climb the roof of the gateway house and grapple from there to a branch

>What do ya get for sending him to the surgeon?
Pretty much fuckall, the guy is just going to rip his eyes out and turn him into a red eye monster you can fight. Or at least that is what happens when you send the other guy to the surgeon

Jumping is so op. I can beat most mobs and minibosses just by mashing jump to evade all attacks

Behind the two purple guys in that first area, there's a small building you can grapple to. That's how you progress.

What the fuck is the purpose of the armor stripping shit, it seems like a massive oversight. Does fuck all in the one fight it seems like it was designed for.

just jump lol

It's meant for ill-fitting armor. Like the one one of the drunkards wears or like several of the fatties wear.

>Uhu
My fucking sides

Some of the giant enemies wear armor that can be pulled off, and it's useful in 2 boss fights. Most of the prosthetics aren't very useful.

Is it possible to kill the second snek in the Sunken Valley poison pool?

I tried using it against the armoured dude on the bridge and it didn't even work lmao

he ended up falling off the bridge after he knocked some walls out anyway, but I have no idea how the spear pull is meant to work

>Any tips for owl2?
owl 2 is the only boss where I felt it's all about statistics. he's a damage sponge and he allows no more than 1 mistake from your side to 1 or 2-shot you. So in the beginning you're still learning his moves and you die a lot, but as you fight him more and more you become better so it's only a matter of time until you do a run where you make no mistakes. it's just that such a run has statistically less chance to happen, so you just gotta keep trying.

It’s only useful for the headless ape.

>Drops game at literally the final phase of the last boss

Faggot

Pretty much.

When you master Owl Father, SSI is something of a joke in comparison since he's way easier to outplay and posture break.

I can’t get corrupted monk down

Everyone says she’s easy but I can’t get the timing of the stun cheese right and I already used all my snap seeds and confetti

I’m struggling with her more than genichiro

>458403795
divine confetti

I don’t have anymore

What's the most effective xp farm? Once I finish my Shura run, I only need to max my skill trees for 100% but I know it's gonna suck.

Return ending is the best one because it sets up a sequel.

I've already gotten up there, gotten the sakura tree idol. But I can't get to the area past the sakura tree

For me, it’s either Fountainhead Palace or starting at Ashina Dojo during the Ashina under attack phase, and stealth killing all the lone shadows and Ashoka elites all the way down to the antechamber and then jumping down where the ogre is (was) and killing all the red armour guys all the way to the Ashina castle or Ashoka reservoir statues. For me, that run gets me like 20K xp between each rests.

Go farm the Blue Samurais after the Antechamber idol

*Ashina not Ashoka

Dumb Disney owned autocorrect. Who the fuck would want to talk about a Clone Wars bitch on their phone goddamn.

First fight? You're better off keeping your distance and waiting for her spin attack then punish and back off. She's a pain to fight the first time around.

At the end of NG+, just the skills achievement left.
I need a whopping 34 skill points to finish the Mushin tree.
Right now I'm getting 927*5 XP at the end of Ashina Outskirts.

How long would I have to grind here?

Get rid of Kuros charm to increase your XP gain by 20%, also Ashina Dojo/Antechamber are prob better because of the lone shadows and red samurai guys worth 1000xp each. Also I bet you wasted skill points on attack points. Attack points are a meme dude.

Nevermind I some how missed the giant carp in the lake

Attached: 490384093840342.png (701x498, 324K)

I just don’t feel like I’m making progress with her, I get her to half health then everything fucks up. Unlike Geni where I could see myself getting better and better.

[bite down intensifies]

Ara aras are so hot, if only they weren't inseparable from baby dick shotas.

>Crush the blue nostrum between the back teeth to die as often as one pleases.

>Could be useful in certain situations.

How do I give up the charm at the end game?

You can't. Last time you can give it away is the first sculptor conversation.

So basically I've learned that you should just wait it out and whittle them down with 1-3 hits after parry strings
but I always through that shit out the window because I'm greedy as hell and I die anyway

I had exactly the same problem. Considering smacking her doesn't do shit it's pretty frustrating to make zero progress in the fight. Running around was the only thing that worked for me though.

Help Emma!
strawpoll.me/17808863

Emma's shit and I was happy to put a blade through her throat

Doesn't he immediately thrust you if you drink your healing water? It's useful for baiting and mikiri-ing his ass desu.

while almost everything before and at that point in the game is best responded to with parrying, corrupted monk is straight up simple if you just run the fuck away and follow up only after the attack strings
otherwise she barely takes any posture damage and hits really hard with large aoe

Well, it's probably less time overall this way.
I did the math and I have to kill these 5 guys 415 times each, which works out to about 4 hours.

Stop being gay.

how are you supposed to be fighting lone shadows? dodging?

If you're at the endgame, I like getting the purple-robed shinobi right next to the Ashina Castle - Antechamber bonfire. You can backstab him and reset in about 20 seconds.

Parry the kicks, mikiri the final one.
Parrying one poison attack should be enough for you to figure out what he's doing, sidestep the next and punish

Ok, I’ll try this. I was trying to fight her like a normal boss and was confused why I couldn’t “get” her. This strategy seems boring but also like the only one that would work.

Rude

I'll definitely try it see how it looks.
Even if it's not as efficient it's nice to mix things up.

Bait out the unblockables, dodge the poison. Kick combo is four hits, then a thrust, sweep always comes after a jump kick.

trying to supercheez demon of hatred by making him fall off the cliff. I can get on top of the watchtower but the "delayed jump" to the temple seems impossible. ANy tips? Or a link to the korean video where he does it? mank thany

You have to sort of "fall off" partially before you make the leap. So basically, you jump a tiny moment after you fall, which is hard to mentally get your head around.

Also you generally do it from the halfway point of the slope you climb up, not the top/connecting of it.

>fall off the cliff
I've only seen a boss, or rather a mini-boss fall off a cliff once. That was the Snake Eye in the Sunken Valley, and after that happened, the player didn't get the prayer bead, and she respawned after he rested at the bonfire. Which I'm guessing happens with every boss that dies from a fall, and not from being killed properly. Which might be useful for speedrunners, but not if you want to actually get the reward from the boss.

Why does the dick matter to you exactly?

It's been 3 days and i can't beat ishin and at this point, im just bored.

korean guy got the rewards from this cheezstrat
that fkn delayed jump might be harder than beating DoH normally tho...

>that fkn delayed jump might be harder than beating DoH normally tho...
That's a very good point. DoH isn't even that hard, because you don't have to deal with Sekiro's new mechanics. You just fight him like in Souls, but with unlimited stamina.

user likes his shotas well hung, obviously

What a fucking gay. Small shota dicks are cute, also the only trannies that are not gay are the ones with feminine small dicks

I'm a shota but I have a massive penis

how do i git gud bros

Attached: 374836742483423.png (700x1156, 616K)

What boss?

What does it do to it? I beat it without using spear at all

After playing i think im done with "geting gud" type games, i wasn't even getting anything from the experience by the end, just boredom.

Unironically stand still and master deflecting. The game and people will tell you to always hold block, but that makes you build shitty habits. Let go of all buttons. Stand still. Block when you see them swinging and perfectly deflect shit every time. Back up and block to reduce your posture if it’s high, but then get back into the fight without blocking right after. Don’t move around too much and confuse yourself with items and running around (unless it’s a souls type boss like Demon or the Guardian Apes).

>We don't need 5 threads about the same game in the catalogue

Where were you when there was Smash Bros. threads clogging up the catalogue everyday? Not even discussing the game. No, discussing the speculation of what MIGHT be in the game. Name a more annoying and pathetic fan base.

Pro-Tip: Don't even try. It's a rhetorical question, because there isn't one. That's the top level Diamond Platinum Tier.

Attached: 1512625077006.jpg (720x720, 97K)

the game itself

Did you actually git gud tho? Because the game is really fun once you do. I’m on NG+3

Are you talking about the top boss of the game we call life? Damn. That's deep dude.

There is no better feeling than when you're struggling with a game's mechanics or combat, ready to quit because you think you've been lied to about the game being fun, and suddenly it's like the clouds part and you're Neo because you have a breakthrough that makes it all make sense. Judging by the trophy "get" rate, it doesn't seem like most people ever get to that point in games like that.

in what order should I visit the areas and beat bosses?
dont want to progress the story and miss out on half the quests and upgrades

Attached: 1446901185520.png (500x500, 168K)

I think im just done. Im not the type to replay games so i doubt ill get to NG+3, the stuff i like the most out of Miyazaki games is the exploration and weirdness and both Sekiro and Dark Souls 3 did not have that all that much, too linear. I hope his next game is more exploration focused like Dark Souls 1/Bloodborne.

I was excited when i heard Sekiro was SP only cause i never cared much for DS MP but i think this is my least favorite game of his after DS3 by now.

>support thread

Fucking why? It's a plain Japanese action game: Learn enemy patterns, don't get hit and hit enemy until it's dead. Really fucking easy.

The story progressing bosses are GnichiroOwl and Divine Dragon so consider finishing other things up before fighting them.

When he falls down you can stab and pull the centipede out for posture damage

Oooh cool. I was way overpowered by the time I got to it anyway.

Standing still isnt a bad idea user but you and other user should know that you can deflect more quickly by being in block, releasing the block button, and immediately repressing it. Compared to how long it takes Wolf to deflect from neutral, its significantly faster.

What's the best way to farm spirit symbols. It's fucking retarded that they are not easier to get. I get limiting them per run but limiting the overall ise itself is dumb.

>Back up and block to reduce your posture if it’s high
I think it's worth adding that your posture can never be broken on a perfect deflect even if it's maxed out. If you have enough confidence in your ability to deflect you never even need to worry about your posture.

>wish there was more exploration
Here, here

Big if true, ill have to try this out later

Just farm sen and buy them
Or just play the game, it throws so much money at you even if you ignore enemies

Is there a prosthetic thats half as useful as the firecracker? TIt seems downright broken in comparison to the others

Spirit emblems, what you use for your arm? You can buy them for pretty cheap so first off just buy them whenever you have extra money. About to go into a boss fight? Just spend all your money on them, you're gonna lose it probable anyway. So on that note just farm money and buy them if you need more. You can get extra money and drops from enemies if you have rung the bell at senpou temple (though this makes the game harder) and by using the golden fan prosthetic. The monks at Senpou temple would be especially good to farm because they are auto killed by being spirited away and the taro troop monks (the big guys) drop the balloons that increase spirit emblem drop rate so even if you don't have the fan yet you'll get something useful. If you didn't realize that was an item check your inventory because you might have some. Just pop them and any wealth balloons you have while farming to speed it up.

Yeah but im at ishin at every time i lose i get les spirit symbols. And if i have to stop attemtping him just to buy more spirit symbols that's just lost time.

Every enemy attack has one specific thing you should do to it for optimal performance. It doesn't mean you can't get lucky and dodge when you should deflect or something, but you need to learn how to telegraph moves most efficiently. Git gud at deflecting basic attacks, mikiri counters, and jumping over sweeps. If you can master these three moves you can handle every boss the game throws at you. Just like soulsborne, treat every death as a learning experience.

Crowfeather can hardcounter just about everything

Oh it's true, NG+ would be almost impossible otherwise with how slow your posture regen is.

I love flaming crow feather

If you're at the end of the game see if you have any materials you don't need anymore, you can sell them. I assume you have most of the upgrades.

Honestly if you know how to use them most of the tools are that way. Umbrella, Crow Feather, Flame Barrel (if you have oil or the last prosthetic tree upgrade), Firecrackers and Shuriken are useful on almost every boss and enemy in the game if you you how/when to use them.

Im not sure what you're trying to say but if you're at isshin you should be fucking loaded, i dont know how you managed to spend all that
If youre concerned about time go kill the two mist nobles by the flower viewing stage idol with a mibu fortune balloon instead of posting on Yea Forums

I literally cannot beat Seven Ashina Spears at the reservoir. Even Burning Bull didn't give me this much anguish.

Deflect his attacks, mikiri his thrusts, deflect his counters to your mikiri counters.

Holy FUCK do I love how From games teach you how to git gud. Just started rolling with NG+ and absolutely bodied Seven Ashina Spears on the first try.

Attached: ssdt14.jpg (255x383, 13K)

That's what that user is trying to break though. Holding it is a bad habit since you end up being more careless. It's ez once you can just deflect on command without needing the crutch of always blocking.

He's a boss that you really make it hard on yourself if you can't deflect his attacks. Miriki counters are good on him but keep in mind that after you Miriki he will usually do a quick counter attack that you need to deflect. If you do deflect it then he gets opened up to being hit. If you have the Ichimonji it's a good opportunity for it.

Me too
Im on ng+ but i didnt give kuro the charm because i assumed id be able to give it to him later so its been real easy so far even with bell demon

He's essentially a tutorial for the mikiri counter. Bait him into it and literally hold still and hit B, it's the fastest way to build his posture bar. If you're really struggling take the time to sneak up on him for the one free critical hit.

Once you learn that he counters your mikiri counter the boss becomes a lot easier.

Im fighting Saint Ishin. Unironically too hard, it's boring now.

No charm and bell was so hard. Against Owl the second time I needed to just perfectly counter and deflect everything. Also found out how great the High Monk skill is for countering sweeps. It's basically the Miriki counter for sweeps.

So what's the deal with the spear guys at the hirata place? Can you even mikiri their thrusty-grabby attack or are you just meant to dodge it?

>high monk for sweeps
Ooh sounds fun

You can mikiri it, the timing is just tricky

Attached: 1554905383817.webm (476x422, 2.13M)

I kind of struggled at the start but man I feel like some of the numbers people saying they attempted bosses is fucking absurd. My worst by far was either owl or genichiro and both were about five attempts each. Owl might have been 7.

Good for you

So you've obviously never played any of Froms games before or didn't pick up on the constant auto saving and lack of save slots.

You're a fucking retard.

You could have save scummed, but why would you want to be so lame?

thats what you get user
I appreciate you avoiding spoilers

It depends. I wasn't exploring at all on my first playthrough. You could miss out on Ashina Arts, Mushin Arts, hidden prayer beads.

For example I reached Isshin Ashina with 15 VIT and 10 ATT. You can reach him with 20 VIT and 13 ATT if you don't grind with the mask. Then you can also use rice, divine grass, pellets and a jizo statue making your chances of winning much higher. So I struggled a lot and played through the game again and beat him in 5 tries but in the first playthrough I couldn't do it.

>choose evil to see what funny cutscene it will show me
>bad ending route start
Except it doesn't. The game explicitly asks you a second time "are you REALLY sure?".

This, , a complete lack of awareness on your part doesn't mean From isn't "allowing you to continue the game."

Is the Shura ending easier than Sword Saint?

Yes, by far.

you played the game right and you deserve the shura ending.
>choose evil to see what funny cutscene it will show me
you chose to betray and kill those characters out of a whim. exactly what the shura ending symbolizes when sekiro kills owl out of a sudden.

Picking Shura on NG is its own punishment.
>fucks you over for progression
>no lapis lazuli or other upgrade mats
>NG to NG+ is the biggest enemy damage jump
>You have no option but to do all at least one more ending on the same run even if you savescum for the endings because you need the two remnants from the different Isshin fights in the same save to get the plat

That part makes no sense anyway. Sekiro is loyal to Kuro because of the Iron Code, then he breaks the Iron Code to follow Kuro when the only reason he was loyal to Kuro in the first place was because of said Iron Code.

>a dialogue choice in a From game has more repercussion than just a different cutscene at the end of the game
shit that never happened before

For anyone needing extremely easy XP in Mibu, the purple ninja can be farmed. Alert him then run away, grapple into the tree to the left of the crow merchant, then run past the houses and leggies sticking out of the ground. Then you can run back and he’ll be walking back to his spot, letting you sneak kill him.

When you see the warning icon, run away from him (not to the side, towards the camera) while locked on.

Thanks I want to attempt it tomorrow and then do the normal ending.

>farming XP
>farming for XP on NG
>farming a single enemy for XP on NG
If I wanted to farm 1 (one) purple dude, I'd just backstab the one in the dojo over and over.

I'm pretty sure the "Iron Code" is just following Owls orders to a T. Owl said to protect Kuro, you protect Kuro. Owl says to betray him, you're supposed to do it without thought.

See .
Backup your save before you do, or you'll have to go through NG+ for the normal one.
But you need to fight both on the same save file for Man Without Equal anyway.

Can't unsee Shizurin.

>get told multiple times to confirm your choice
>an user with a functioning brain would know that this means you're about to diverge down a different path
>you don't know how saves work in a fromsoft game
>"wahhh, I don't want to have to replay a game to see the other choices, it'll cut into my fortnite time!"
Yeah I'm having trouble believing you're not just an underage mongoloid electionfag. Go back.

Once you get all the sneak upgrades you can just backstab him

I already have a save file where I reached Isshin SS but I couldn't beat him

What's the prosthetic tier list? I've seen a few people say firecracker is the best

>the only reason he was loyal to Kuro in the first place was because of said Iron Code.
it's a turning point for sekiro's character. staying loyal to kuro makes him realize he is allowed to use individual judgement and his own morals to define loyalty instead of just being loyal because of hierarchical demand of the iron code. if you betray kuro over iron code there is no character development and sekiro's internal conflict with having to betray people he cares about while trying to maintain that hierarchy of iron code turns him into emotionless husk that invites shura.

Yeah but Owl's a power hungry cunt who stabbed his own adopted son in the back for immortality. At least Genichiro's reasons for taking Kuro are somewhat reasonable.
Fuck Owl.

Attached: 1554667713813.jpg (1132x800, 216K)

No shit, I cut the old man too. It's just what the iron code is tho.

lads, I'm going for the all upgrades trophy and all bosses, I'm on NG+ and I'm doing SHura now I believe, so Emma/Isshin should be the final bosses? On the first playthrough, I killed every single boss, mini boss, demon of hatred, etc. I assume I can get the lapis lazuli in ng ++? need two more upgrades kek but if you go shura ending you can't get those last ones, so I'll have to get it ng++

>tfw finally kicked granny butterfly's saggy old ass and didn't even need to resurrect on my last attempt
Feels fuckin good bros, I wish it showed how many attempts it took but I think it was around 9 or 10

Attached: 1553465874744.png (631x710, 1003K)

I never managed to backstab that dude. Always notices me first. And trying to get an air attack on him just alerted the dogs who then alerted him.

I cant pull it off with 100% consistency but you just gotta hug the cliff wall until youre directly behind him

>GET FUCKED BY BOSS AGAIN AND AGAIN
>GO TO SLEEP
>FIRST TRY WHEN YOU WAKE UP

eVERY TIME. Not just Sekiro, but all vidya bosses like it. WHy does that happen?

Attached: 130221984383.png (600x578, 333K)

If you're me, you tend to press or get frustrated more and more the longer you play. Hitting reset and going in with a clear mind after knowing the boss better from all the experience always helps.

How does one farm for fulminated mercury? I need a lot of it to upgrade prosthetics.

Attached: 1402098038167.gif (328x263, 294K)

>just got shura ending

so you just... kill everybody? what exactly is shura?

Literally all about focus. You naturally lose your focus after 3060 minutes or so. Walking away for a couple hours allows you to process what worked and what didn't on a subconscious level. And when you get back to the game, you're at 100% again.

I loved blasting through NG++ but quite honestly it was only so easy because I had 10 not-estus from the start

Why does headless ape never do the attack that lets me pull the centipede out. I’m standing right in front of him

You have to deflect stuff to trigger it

Red shinobi by stairway idol

I did it! I finally got that ishin motherfucker. Hut and run tatic, took me like 20 minutes but i got it AHHHHHHHH Suck my dick Miyazaki you cunt.

I’m seeing him do it in vids where people don’t deflect all the hits. He never does it for me

Everything that everyone else says is wrong. It is because sleep is when you actually learn shit. It also applies to real life. If you spend hours practicing an instrument, you will usually only see a small amount of the benefit immediately. After you sleep you will find the real improvement. Sleep is when your brain basically compiles the shit that you've learned in the day.

Shura is bloodlust, powerlust and everything else base that compels men to kill each other and keep the fires of war raging

When he does the thing where he stabs twice etc. it's enough to deflect one of these to trigger the move, it should happen most of the time

>Can't get Owl 2 to phase 2
Help.

Attached: 1535628540540.gif (208x200, 2.03M)

You gotta hit him in the apeless head a couple times first

Got the special ending. Kind of lame to be honest, such a short cutscene fits for Dark Souls because of how cryptic it is but for this game i expected something longer as the ending. Also the special ending can be considered a sequel hook which is stupid.

General tips? Reading through the thread now, came on after taking a break from getting stomped by the fat man in the memory that's on fire or whatever. My blue bro gets stomped too.

Guardian Ape and first Monk sure aren’t fun. They feel like letdowns after Genichiro and I’m stuck between them both.

I’ll get it eventually but I just feel frustrated unlike where I actually felt accomplished beating Genichiro.

Just to be clear, if you get the shura ending and then don't progress into NG, you can't go to fountainhead, right?

I literally can't stress how easy monk is

sprint around and just DO not go in for the attack until she does the stupid big 2h move, punish once, repeat, chip her down

also, when she does the swinging around aoe attack, she swings 4 times, so just go backwards for 4 swings, punish once, repeat

Thanks, user. Which stairway is this?

Nah because the reason for going there contradicts what you actually decided in the Shura ending

The game will get dramatically easier once you realize that blocking an attack is much better than dodging it.

Half the time she guards by the time I run back so it doesn’t do any damage. Feels lame to have to run around like a spastic instead of parrying like you’re “supposed to”. I’m going to just take a break and try later since it feels like a slog.

underrated post

the idol is literally called Ashina Outskirts- Stairway

How do I unlock the different endings?
Also, does my answer to Kuro regarding severing immortality lock me out of certain things? I seem to remember there being two separate dialogue choices in my first playthrough, but in NG+ I only got one.

>Talk to NPC
>Cockroach bites me, interrupts conversation
>Talk to NPC again
>Yet another cockroach appears, bites NPC
>Can't even lock on to these niggers
Sometimes I have to question Miyazaki's mental state

Attached: 1555077531235.png (350x410, 113K)

I thought after you ring the bell the monks become agressive enough that you can lead them all to him and he becomes overjoyed for you returning his friends to him

It's a colloquial Japanese way of saying Asura
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asura_(Buddhism)

if you try to say no to Kuro it just doesnt let you, Wolf says some bullshit to himself and you're looped back to the choice
I was disappointed myself

>yfw Isshin pulled the gat on you the first time

Attached: confused.jpg (243x207, 6K)

This is some "that one kid" nonsense

Why Genichiro want divine heir blood anyway? Dude already had centipede boy inside him.

Is it normal to die so much to the chained ogre? I've died like 120 times no lie, I can't even get one deathblow on him cause his tracking is too good and I always get grabbed or hit. Is this like the final boss or something come on

I guess Spear Rifle Saint wouldve been too wordy

>Can't even lock on to these niggers
You can't? I was always able to. If you really can't, try the whirlwind slash, that thing hits pretty much everything

Just reached Owl. Is there any idol closer to him than at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the actual castle?
I tried to jump into one of the windows and got ganked by two longshadows. Should I do them before I do Owl?

Yea Forums I just first playthrough, got all lapis lazuli, went to NG+ but got Shura ending, so got zero lapis lazuli, on ng++ will Demon of Hatred and the Headless drop the lazuli?

Why does nobody ever talk about the damn gunfort and that mother fucking giraffe spiderman monster. Pne of the douches bosses in the while game motherfucker keels a projectile attack in his moveset he never uses unless you really start to kick his ass. Ended up flawlessly defeating the first level when i did end up beating him

Hes pretty much the game trying to introduce you to your posture breaking

Dragonblood immortality is just better
Also when do you see a centipede in him? Jog my memory

Progress the same way you did the first time. The old idols are still there though you probably still want to kill the longshadow boss so you only have the non-boss one left

he's a kensei or "Blade Sage", it's a fucked translation

>You can skip Gyobu.

Gokan's sugar and just deflect his shit. EZ

>Giraffe
If you stand there and block/deflect everything, then jump on his head when he does his perilous, you can kill him in less than 30 seconds. You don’t have to hit him once.

>skips
>skips for an easy boss
I'm glad speedrunners are going to die out in one generation

Yes go through the castle and sneak kill one lone shadow and puppeteer him, there's an idol there and its the one you want
I dont see why they wouldnt
Early threads were full of anons bitching about the long arms but most of us got gud already
Same with the gunfort
>long arm is the game introducing you to posture breaking
You dont think the in game tutorial about posture breaking when you first get your sword was the introduction?

couter the slashes, when he trows fireworks run to the side of him and hit him a few times, that attack is actually a huge opening.

I’ve tried to mikiri Genichiro for two hours now. Does not work. Works fine at the dilapidated temple, works fine on minibosses and enemies but not Genichiro. Don’t get why. He always slices right through me and through half of my blocks. I give up.

I did the tutorial and I have a problem now: I dont want to save that retarded kid and I hope he gets daily ass raped by that other dude. is there even a point in playing?

Every time you die for real you ressurect at the bonfire

he's shorter than the average Guy we meet so about 5'6

I knew it was fucked, Activision dropped the ball on this shit

>slice
Are you trying to mikiri his sweeps? You idiot

Speed runners skip when they have to though, that’s kind of the point. It’s not “how fast can you beat the entire game”
It’s “how fast can you beat the game til it gives you the end screen.” They only fight bosses they HAVE to beat and there’s no feasible way to skip them.

Frankly that corrupt monk cheese was brilliant.

Speedrunning I’m 2019 isn’t autism. It’s the most normie casual shit there is. Back in the day speed running meant getting really good at the game. Nowadays it means using a cheat engine to find holes and glitches within the map to exploit and not actually have to play the game. All speed running is nowdays is “skips”. It’s boring as fuck. I want to watch a Sekiro speedrun if someone destroying every boss in one life and in under two minutes each. THATS autism and skill.

What is even the point of bite down?

Speedrunners aren't skipping stuff because it's difficult you numbskull

No.

They’re skipping stuff because it’s a culture of normie shitters, yes.

retarded trannies, missing the point
kill yourselves

On the first phase just git gud.
If you want to get trought the ape2 quickly, use pacyfing agent and when he screams run up to him and fuck him up. The actual screem does very little damage.

Pulling that trick is significantly harder than beating up poor Gyobu though.
I didn't even think you could climb those breakable towers.

It let's you rez without getting your remaining rez striked out
useful during boss fights

>It’s “how fast can you beat the game til it gives you the end screen.”
And that's gay.

You are the one who missed the point though?
This is faster than beating him so obviously a speedrunner chooses what is faster. Not that difficult to understand

Only thing I can think of
>almost dead and almost beating this boss
>all out of healing items
>have a resurrection node
>use bite down and resurrect with more health than I had
Other than that, no clue

I just wanted to say I just beat Guardian Ape and I feel like my dick is big

Attached: 1520182678389.jpg (614x800, 51K)

It’s time for Miyazaki to step down and stop making broken poorly optimized games.

Mikiri is easier than you think, you are probably trying to do it too late (thinking, that there's a small time window for it), you can press B as soon as you see Genichiro pulling the sword back.

Thrust attacks cannot be blocked, but can be deflected, the window to deflect is really small though, if you are not sure - just dodge to side.

Anyone?

No, the point of beating the game and watching speed running used to be about the spectacle of a specific game mechanism being mastered to the point where it could be beat quickly and spectacularly. Nowadays the “tranny point” of speed running is to try to find a way to skip everything, either by going out of bounds or finding some save/load glitch that takes you further into the game. Every speed run becomes the same thing. No skill, just cheese.

I enjoy seeing how people can break things myself. It’s cool to see how people can exploit the game and drop through the map or just fuck with a boss to make it kill itself like Gyobu, it’s funny and entertaining. If you want to speedrun in a different way no one is stopping you.

>skipping free dmg upgrade

Can you elaborate
Im slow

i fought the demon of whatever a few times then quit because it was such a shit fight

i havent played the game in 3 days now. please help

No one is stopping me from being healthy but when I’m surrounded by bacteria and scum it’s really hard not to feel sick.

Not that user but there were always multiple kinds of speedrunning with different rules you mong.

>item that kills you lets you rez
???

supposing you're talking about his thunder form, really just run around

Seems like it might be good against the nobles. "kills" you if you get caught in the enfeeblement so you can reset it.

post memes

If you think speedrunning wasnt always about sequence breaking youre a moron

Sekiro runs on literal calculators

More often then not when I've done it to early he hits me. You need to wait a second before doing it. I also don't do the pressing forward thing to help with the timing because it fucks me up completely. Another thing: sometimes when I've done it early (when he first winds up) if I mash the button it will work but I'm not 100% on that.

cope more trannies, exploiting glitches is not playing videogames
You are all going to die

Firecracker is the easiest to use, since it works on everyone and has good reach. Prosthetics are not that useful anyway, you can beat any boss without them, it's more of flavor thing.

if you have more than one rez icon and you die you can't rez more than once
If you have more than one rez icon and you use bite down you can rez twice without having to do a deathblow

nigger that was always the point of speedrunning and there are still plenty of games that don't have insane cheese and glitches

that said speedruns are dull as fuck after watching 1 gdq and i dont see it lasting

Just learn his pattern and treat him like a bb boss

t. My zoomer opinion of things matter because my 16 years of life have let me experience the objective way things should be done

What's the use for shit like this and bite down? I don't know if I ever came across a useful time to apply it.

Attached: 1554908426885.jpg (720x720, 103K)

>IF YOU'RE NOT PLAYING THE GAME LIKE I WANT YOU'RE A TRANNY
Kek, are you american or something?
>exploiting glitches
More like exploiting poor level planning since From apparently forgot that Sekiro has verticality you can use to bypass fog walls, unlike Souls.
But cope more my dude.

No that was not always the point of speedruns. Glitchless was the standard. Only reason it has a category now is because people who do skips have become the norm thanks to casual shitters and trannies who hate having to put effort into anything.

Seeliterally in the item description
>"resurrection is not limited after use"

If you're going to die anyway, dying like this bypass resurrection cooldown I believe
You can activate it from the pause menu too

come at me bitch

>You are all going to die
You aren't?

How to you counter the slow effect when fighting headless? I tried snap seeds and they didn't do shit, do you really just have to fight him in slowmo?

Everyone just disappears for me. That surgeon storyline never goes anywhere for me, even after I send someone to him.

Hey, If I buy the game right now on Steam, do I still get the digital artbook? Someone who bought the game recently pls confirm

use the parry function

They aren't in the cell?

Use the purple umbrella. You can basically cheese the entire fight by blocking with the umbrella and staying under it. Only come out when you know you can get some decent hits in.

This may be reaching

but you know the ROBERTTTTT dude, and he's in like medieval knight armor and looks sort of out of place in this time zone? like he's from dark souls Notice how he moves all slow, and clunky. Is Miyazaki trying to tell us something?

Attached: 1521944966539.jpg (720x439, 47K)

You need to properly parry his attacks and swing at him when he nothing personells you. Use the confetti and it'll go away pretty fast and if you don't hate yourself

Ah ok, I figured it had something to do with gaming the resurrections.

Yeah you just deal

>wanting sequels
Stop that.

I only get the surgeon who tells me thanks for bringing him and I get a red lump as a prize. And later when I visit the surgeon becomes a test subject himself and he just stays in his cell and cries. Then one it’s Ashina under attack, he’s just gone and there’s a note left behind that doesn’t really say much.

Mashing works, but it's not reliable. Pressing forward is counter intuitive, but trust me - it makes Mikiri's easier. Now I do Mikiri's 100% of the time (if I don't accidentaly jump, thinking that it was a sweeping attack). Anyhow, the best advice for tough bossfights - don't throw yourself at the boss until you win. If you died like 10 times, take a break, maybe explore other areas, or take an actual brake from the game. I guarantee you, when you will come back, you will be much more focused and ready to fight. I died on Genichiro like 30 times, ragequitted, booted up the game next day and killed him on the first try.

Attached: franku.jpg (289x192, 8K)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Arigato

He could have just come from Europe

I'd accept this reality, purely because of the insane blood borne arm prosthetics would be actual fucking god tier if they did it correctly

Id much rather prefer Sekiro 2 then to see Sekiro’s mechanics get whored out to other franchises.

Check the flooded passage

Go into the water close to the cell and they should both be there on the cloest island, as super tough enemies

Yeah none of them are there. They just disappear.

could be a bug. Safe to assume you've rebooted the game?

Even as a PS4 owner I'd take something brand new or Sekiro 2 before BB2.

I’m on NG+ now. Gonna try again and see if maybe I just didn’t get there in time and progressed the story too fast or something.

Does anyone have that lore guide that was posted here this week? Someone said that Kuro is thousands of years old, when does the game say that?

That's bullshit, the game never says that
Is Sekiro's version of Redditblood Moon out already to muddy the waters? Fuck the "lore" community, it died after Demon's Souls when the youtube hacks turned it into a cult.

I feel like I'm the only one that thought Owl 2 was easier than Owl 1.

It barely runs on PS4

>spoiler
Id imagine thats just nerds who got confused once Takeru entered the narrative

That's absolutely not true. Takeru was the divine heir before Kuro and his companion, Tomoe, was recent enough to train Genichiro.

I've finally gotten time to play this game.

Lady Butterfly's second phase hurts me.

I also decided to go another way and got stopped by the Burning Bull.

Life is hard.

Read the thread, thats the general consensus

Once you learn them they're about equal I'd say but owl 2 has more deadly moves imo

Dont give up sempai!

>Bull
Protip: Don't lock on. If you lock on, you'll attack the middle of the bull, and the attacks will often carry you towards its head, allowing its horns to hit you. If you don't lock on, you can aim your attacks at its but, and more easily avoid its horns.

>but
*butt

They hung out with Emma and Genichiro back in the day, now they're buried at the Old Grave. That fenced in pit is where the Everblossom grew before Owl killed it with his botched botany.

Like said, don't lock on when he's up close. You can deflect his initial charge, which a lot of anons don't feel right doing because it's against what soulsborne has taught you. Get in tight on his ass and just slash away at his hindquarters, he'll then do a side to side thrash with his head that will miss you most of the time, and this usually makes him stay put. Firecrackers make it extremely easy, too, but they are somewhat OP in the game and can become a crutch.

>finally got to phase 3 DoH after about 5 tries
>didn't know his move set at all
>failed to guard his giant swing but didn't get hit because he was standing on higher ground and Sekiro is a manlet
>literally grazed the multiple fireballs spam
>malcontent worked 2 out of 3 times
>all gourds used, res used.
>won
Shit was crazy yo.
I hated Owl 1 bomb spamming. Owl 2 was deadlier but at least he only used firecracker.

Fucking this, speedruns now are so cancer. Watching someone walking out of the map for 90% of the run is so damn boring.

pro tip: when he's doing the sweep attacks keep yourself at a distance until he swings straight down towards you at that point run towards him in a counter clockwise rotation, he Will miss 100% of the time and you can land at least three hits before retreating

Post your coolest webms.

>used all emblems, all gourds, all the pellets and a ress
There's still some gudgetting to do but it is great once you get into the zone

Letting the boss kill you disables being able to revive after doing so once. Biting Down doesn't do that. Instead, it lets you revive, and you're back to normal, except with only one revive left.

Return is the only one that has the potential to solve the immortality bullshit once and for all.

Didn't really need to use the emblems honestly. The only prosthetics I used during the fight was flinging a shuriken at him when he was leaping away from me.

I CAN'T EVEN BEAT Juzou the Drunkard WOWEE

>mfw I picked return because I thought it was the ending where kuro wouldn't have to die

are you sneak killing his gank squad?

yes, and I actually also just managed to pull it off. My blue robed bro died tho

Found this in the general

>I truly now understand what it means to git gud.
My FUCKING man. So nice to see all of the "soulless!" posters gone from these threads and now they're full of anons who have seen the light after persevering.

I got monkey-fucked today. It feels lime twenty times. His first-phase grab is still hard for me to deal with, and I don't really know what I'm doing in phase two.
It's when he lays down, with his stump out, that you can spear him, right? I keep getting pulled under him every time he falls like that.

you shouldn't use him, ge shows up later in the castle if you don't let him die

gj user
Dont feel bad for him, he wouldve died anyway iirc and as a Nogami hes probably proud to die defending Hirata Estate

Stop making shit up

kuro doesn't die in return, he is just absorbed by the divine child. He also doesn't die in the purification ending, but sekiro does.

>you shouldn't use him, ge shows up later in the castle if you don't let him die
wut
where
I've probably been farming his ass

I really didn't enjoy the 2 (I hope there's no more) snake eyes fights and the gun niggers in general

Attached: 1503096320260.jpg (509x625, 33K)

>kuro doesn't die in return
Right he's just sleeping...
Probably for the best eitherway, being deprived of your material form is probably deeply horrifying and I doubt that there's going to be a happy ending once they reach their destination.

>he doesn't know

I still can't beat them. Last thing I tried in the swamp was puppeteering the gun-ninja. He didn't help much.

Just cheese her with the poison water

It seems like it never does anything. How tedious could that be? Killing her would get me a fourth prayer bead, though...

This fucking game made me rage throw my controller like a fucking child today. I’ve never done that. Time to take a break before I have a stroke.

honestly fuck grab attacks in this game, why do they feel so inconsistent? Why do the enemy sometimes teleport onto me when I jump high up and to the side, and other times I barely jump and I avoid it somehow. And some times the grab animation lasts for a million years so you can just backstep away from it, while other times the same fucking grab attack just happens instantly and you don't get to react (Emma was especially bad when it came to this)

it take a minute, certainly. I wouldnt call it tedious though. You just stand on the hand of the buddha by the idol and she paces to and fro in the water, oblivious.

WHY ARE THERE NIGHTJAR APPARITIONS EVERYWHERE
THEY WHEREN'T THERE IN NG

I've got more of a technical problem.
Regardless of whether I change the settings to high or low, I get some stuttering every few seconds. This affects both gameplay and cutscenes.
I'm not quite sure how to solve this. Maybe someone here has experience with this problem and can offer some advice?

Attached: 1553680154707.jpg (400x400, 42K)

who even likes areas filled with deadly projectiles?

only time I ever did that was back when demon's souls came out, I threw it right into my tv cabinet that had glass doors. felt like a dumbass after

>keep seeing anons complaining about the 3 monkeys
>assume its a really tough fight
>its just a puzzle/stealth section
>mfw i accidentaly hit the fourth one while fighting a random mob

Attached: eI4HgKu_d.jpg (640x801, 51K)

because that's what shinobi would do. it's literally shinobi code, TO cheese. they win however they know. it's the cannon way to fight

Snake Eyes bossed are easy. Just control your pacing, wait for them to do a move that isn't a gunshot, close in quickly and punish. The later Snake Eyes bitch can be backstoobed to take out her first lifebar.

Attached: 1554406865966.jpg (827x691, 153K)

it becomes "hard" or tedious if you overthink it, you expect that you need to lure them into the various towers to stall them but that's just a waste of time

they're not hard but the second one can get annoying if you fuck up and the others start shooting at you.

also against the first one the fight can end up taking place on one of the sides of the platform where a couple of the regular enemies can shoot at you, so your only option is to back up which also lets snake eyes regain posture

I'm at the entrance to Ashina Castle, how the fuck do I get in? The fucking tengu or whatever they are are incredibly obnoxious and I can mostly manage to fight one but not with a billion shurikens flying into my face.

Too bad we can't hide in a toilet for hours and stab our target in the ass like real shinobi...

Why is deflect and jump so broken? The game is constantly dropping these even though I'm not tied up in an action.

>cheesing
If FromSoft can't or won't develop a countermeasure for a player strategy against a boss it's not ''cheesing'' it's simply a working strategy. They disabled cheese like resetting boss A.I to cheese them with stealth by making bosses regen their hp bars if you tried that so if they thought hit and run was a strat they did not want the player doing, they would've developed a countermeasure or prevented it. Like with the Headless, they prevent you from running. If you can kill a boss by executing a strategy it's legitimate. You made it happen. Own it. It's yours.

WHAT THE FUCK WHAT IS GOING ON!? WHY IS HE AN APPARATION NOW

I struggled with the one in the swamp but the one in Sunken Valley was fairly easy. Only time I'd advise to fight them like a dark souls boss, 2/3 hit>backaway, just to be sure that you don't get grab
maybe I was a bit to overpowered though I feel like I did a lot of damage in the Sunken Valley

Neither boss need to be fought in the range of other enemies unless you're some sort of spastic
Stop overthinking the fight, it's probably one of the most simplistic and predictable movesets in the game.

Is that a mod? Why is Sekiro bald?

Run like hell on the rooftops and try to find an open window.

I think i got lucky or whatever when i first encountered these because they have an odd weakness. They almost never attempt to attack back when they guard. So you can just literally keep moving towards them and keep attacking non-stop. I'm sure its not the best way to fight them, but it works so commonly. Only the ones with fire occasionally attack back.

>ignore all enemies
>swing over the rooftops until I get to a pool of water on the other side of the castle
>eavesdrop on two guys fishing
>get caught and just run past them
>kill a couple of monkeys and now at the "Great Serpent Shrine"
well okay

Attached: 20190413180928_1.jpg (1920x1080, 209K)

Lazy devs decided to reuse that miniboss. And that's not even the only time he gets reused.

nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/152

That's when you take out the enemies first if you don't feel like fighting them AND Snake Eyes. For the latter one you only really need to take out one of cannon guys with a stealth kill, then sneak up behind snek eyes and murderize her.

You need to find a window by circling behind the castle from the rooftops.

Attached: Dzt-wtmXgAAenZV.jpg (680x680, 69K)

i got knocked off the roof by one in my first playthrough and ended up at that same pool of water. It felt like a sequence break, but was just luck.

I know he gets reused but why is he an apparition now?

You can go all sneaky beaky like (aside from the part where you're forced to aggro two of them) or you can literally dash to the window in 15 seconds without taking a single hit

>Regular Isshin is somehow more difficult than super Isshin
Why and how

He's way harder for me aswell, I don't know why.

So how do I progress from here? One way goes to the Serpent Shrine, the other goes back to the broken bridge where I snuck past the snake. Is there no way back onto the roof?

Does the game get locked out after you beat Sword Saint? I missed a couple of things back in the other areas I'm sure.

You can just warp to the Ashina Castle idol and go back up to the roofs. You're looking for a window on the left side of Ashina Castle.

When you get the ending cutscene you get the option of either going back or starting ng+

It doesn't automatically start NG+ so you're free to go back and visit other areas.

What's the use of Vault Over?

I assume there's a way to still get to ng+ if I opt to go back to the other areas right?

let's you turn staggered enemies into puppets

yes just use an idol

Yep, you can start it at any time from an idol.

so I just got Dragon's Homecoming ending

what just happened? where did Kuro go?

Isshin just randomly super armors through most of my attacks. He also breaks the camera and combos me to death. This boss just isn't very good. He's VERY janky.

congratulations you just impregnated an immortal loli with your master

he's inside of loli now

Attached: 1554851705550.png (841x897, 519K)

It's hard to do damage to him, in his last two phases you need to slowly pare his health away so it gets low enough to affect his posture regen, then just build posture.
The camera is wonky on his leaps and gap closers, yeah. Try not to force his combos, most can be deflected and he often backs away from you, and you just have to avoid the seven hit one that ends in a mikiri counter so your posture doesn't get overloaded. (When I got this down, I would literally back away, wait for him to do his sweeping attacks, then step closer to counter his mikiri and cuckold him hard.) Stick with him, he's a bitch but oh so worth it and you'll find him less janky if you get him down pat.

Snake Eyes are probably the easiest minibosses imo, you literally just keep up pressure, parry their opening swing, and dodge backwards whenever they go for a grab
They have a total of 4 moves and the parry timing is easily predictable for all of them

>fighting the swordsman dudes in Ashina Castle
>step dodge instead of Mikiri every time
god dammit

Thanks user, this actually helps a lot. I'll focus more on his health than posture breaking.

The camera in this game is absolute horse shit and the worst thing about the game, by far. The combat is great, the level design is great, etc etc but the camera is like some trash from the 90s the way it randomly fails, gets stuck in walls, or otherwise fucks you over.
I'm having issues with the camera that I seriously haven't seen in games for a decade. For example, lets say I want to pick up an item off the ground or activate an object/talk to an NPC while looking behind me to make sure there are no enemies. Nope, not possible. For some reason, the item or object needs to be onscreen to activate it. In the Dark Souls games or most action games, as long as your character was adjacent to an activatable object and pressed the interact key, it would work. But in this game, the fucking camera needs to be centered.
That's just a minor gripe, but there are also a lot of problems where the camera just freaks out and makes it impossible to see what's happening if you get pushed back against a wall while parrying/blocking a long combo. Depending on the geography of the wall it can be even worse. In some cases the lock on will just randomly break once you get to some arbitrary distance too, which makes the camera fuck up. The low camera angle seems to be a cinematic choice but the result is just that the fucking camera keeps getting stuck on walls. It's better if the camera is a bit above so even if it gets stuck on a wall, it will look down on the fight. I've played every souls game extensively and I've never had issues like this, it's like the person who programmed the camera for Sekiro just didn't do any research into advances in camera programming in the past decade. Fuck.

Sekiro just needs a nice DLC. It already feels fairly complete.

>agro swamp snake eyes
>run away and hide behind buddah statue up on cliff
>he keeps getting poisoned by the swamp water as he tries to wander around and get an angle to shoot me
>only need to jump down and bap him twice for deathblows
The bosses in this game are too exploitable.

Attached: 1362966562898[1].jpg (500x376, 186K)

For the last two phases, yeah, you kind of have to slowly dwindle his health until it starts affectting his posture. If you get the right combo of moves you could focus on solely breaking his guard but I always found I'd get fucked by one of his 47 moves and that frustrated me when his posture went down incredibly fast.
His first phase is all posture though, such a fun dance of deflecting and mikiri countering his old ass.

Can anybody explain to me why the old guy was inside of his son? I thought he was dead. What the fuck even happened?

Is there a reason I shouldn't confront the memories?

Genichiro used the black Mortal Blade to open a portal inside himself to summon Isshin. The red blade is death, the black one life.

No, it's probably just optional so you can do challenge runs.

>fighting the Ashina Elite miniboss
>die
>resurrect
>before I regain control he's already killed me again
That's some bullshit.

You wont reach attack level 99 if you don't have a spare memory

His attacks are just so fucking awkward! They don't even look like actual swings! He just walks towards you and then suddenly you're eating shit!

Attached: 1526812422301.jpg (800x800, 153K)

H-HE'S FAST!

press the dodge button without any stick directional input. default dodge is forwards.

Attached: file.png (513x472, 262K)

This was was more satisfying than I thought it'd be.

Attached: RULES OF NATURE.webm (640x360, 2.94M)

Any tips for what I assume is the first Genichiro fight? Not the tutorial one.

i thought this was excessively brutal
felt bad for it even though i fucking hate snakes
honestly i kinda hoped it'd be a somewhat friendly antagonist like Grigori in Dragon's Dogma. I love that stuff.

when he tosses the delayed firecrackers, dodge around towards his right side and you'll be behind him when the firecrackers go off.

Where do you find that anyway

You should see what happens if you don't finish it off

Yes but it's hard. She can get poisoned but takes forever and you still have to risk yourself going in for a DB

You ain't wrong, friend. He's brutal, and your margin for error with him is super fucking tiny. I would often go from having my revive and full health to absolutely dicked in a few seconds because of his combos and how fucking quick he can close the gap. You just have to take your licks, but soon you'll be better at seeing what's coming and do better against him.

outside Isshin's room, on the balcony that leads to Kuro's room after Owl

Attached: file.png (1401x731, 748K)

I don't fucking understand this lightning counter. I'll be in the air, I'll get hit by it, I'll press R1, and it LOOKS like I'm about to counter it, but I'll just fucking die a second later. What the fuck am I doing wrong?

Just outside Isshin's room, but it's not available right away. I'm not sure when it first appears.

I think it's because you jumped a little too early, and hit the ground before you could throw the lightning. It messes with me, too.

Mash R1 if you get hit by it to deal with the input lag.

you can just manfight her, they're really not hard. you can also cheese her with the poison in the pool, or simply sneak up behind her from the left side of the area and deathblow.

you're probably jumping too early. YOU CAN'T HIT THE GROUND with the lightning on you.

Who here thought, he was going to go the opposite way? I thought he was going to dig his sword into his skull, and then grind DOWNARDS, all the way down his body to the tip, and then just the entire fucking corpse opens up spraying blood anime style. Instead he went upwards to the head. Still fucking neat.

Attached: 1537698750469.gif (235x240, 1.55M)

>corrupted monk
>snap seeds and confetti

Fucking what?

The purple one is damaged by snap seeds (Well, only 3 times per fight) and confetti attacks.

WOAH! WHERE CAN I DO THAT!? I didn't know you could kill him!

I am so fucking sick of Genichiro already, this would be enjoyable if he didn't fuck off to spam arrows whenever you got any momentum up

>have fought genichiro 4 times
>literally always deflected all his arrows
how are you people getting hit by them? they aren't even instant

It's not that they're a major source of damage, it's that you can be in the middle of a great parry chain or finally getting some decent hits in and he fucks off halfway across the arena to shoot arrows at you.

Use puppeteer on the short guy near the kite near the first idol in Senpou Temple, continue up the temple a bit until you reach a tall tree, jump from there to the kite.

Yup. I’ve fought him close to 50 times now. Got to his third phase twice and haven’t come close again. I quit.
