Basically there’s only a few times you’ll actually give a shit about the “”””victim””””” and 5/6 times it’ll be maya merely pretending. But it has the same basic idea as dr so if you like solving mysteries you’ll likely enjoy it. You’ll still get breakdowns at least since most the murderers have a reason to kill.

I don't think that there's any other games that do all those things perfectly, since it's a bit niche.
I think that both Zero Escape and Steins;Gate do all of those pretty well, though. Zero Escape has the eerie atmosphere in spades (better than Danganronpa at that IMO).
Steins;Gate may seem like it's just a generic VN at the start, but around Chapter 3 it goes from "okay" to "incredible".
Ace Attorney has some suspense and trial breakdowns, but only sometimes do you see the characters beforehand.
If you like puzzle solving in general, the Professor Layton games are good.
Here are a few others I just found out about but haven't played. Seems like these are mainly murder mysteries.
Exile Election (takes some inspiration from DR), Corpse Party, Orwell, The Sexy Brutale, Shinrai, Kara no Shoujo, 428 Shibuya Scramble.
