I just play the ol'emulators these days. Rather spend money and clothes, cars and drugs. Though I constantly follow industry news and trends. Maybe devs will make good games again some day. No one knows the future for sure.

I personally see it as an investment into the future of games that I like. Supporting the development of good games instead of just being a leech that still feels like he has a right to complain when it comes down to it.
It's like any hobby really. You can either cut corners and be a cunt in the process, or show some devotion every now and then. It's up to you.
