Power level your islands with absolutely no regard for anything but productivity, then go back and start reworking them once everything is established. It also helps if you play on a difficulty that lets you move buildings around for free.

>spending resources to industrialize before you have the worker class for it

y u do dis
stick to farmers until you get enough surplus to upgrade them, and then build the stuff that requires the now available builders
also use blueprints niggas, its in the bottom right of the controls panel, you can place things in advance and only build them for real later

what does this game do right? what does this game do wrong?

>minmaxing grids
>when the game rewards you for having green around for beauty

No need to masterplan grids now, just build naturally and enjoy your wonky town.
If anything, I wish I could have curved roads like in Cities Skylines.

>what does this game do right?
Grids.
>what does this game do wrong?
Grids.

>what does this game do right?
Comfy city building, laid back slow paced competition with AIs, hunting pokemanz for your zoo.
>what does this game do wrong?
Combat, actual skill based competitive strategies, giving you the "OH FUCK IT IM STARTING OVER" feeling five hours into your save game.

Basically Rimworld feels, except minus the RNG rage.

Beautifying is done by other means. You can build the way you want for your own enjoyment but beauty comes from advanced structures like the zoo and museum, which are incomparable in their beauty boosting abilities.

>what does this game do right?
Honestly, everything. It's a pretty well established formula that they've been refining for a long time now.
>what does this game do wrong?
Fails to satiate the blood lust of most Americans.

Thank you. I will begin my training immediately.

I love the fact that you must keep lower classes in you city to work on farms and factories.
you cant just have a city full of rich noble men, those people would never work on dirty factories.
A nice realism in this agme.

I actually fucked my colony by upgrading too many farmers to workers, and my agricultural production halted, and I got angry mobs. Had to hastily reverse a bunch of upgrades and throw farmer houses down.

>Fails to satiate the blood lust of most Americans.
this. i need combat in my sims. first skyrim mod i made was one where i could kill kids

Attached: 1548388473838.jpg (1024x1024, 170K)

It does a lot right. Everything I'd want from an Anno game and then some. Great OST, nice visuals, deep gameplay, lots to do.

The naval speed though can fuck off. That shit is way too slow. You get a 30-minute quest to get something on the other side of the map so you shave off 10 minutes from that because that's how long it's gonna take to get to the other side and then back again.

is it worth my $90 before it goes off steam??

It also makes it pretty satisfying to have islands that are 100% nobles then other islands that are 100% slave labour to support the nobles.

Check out the open beta and form your own opinion.

Isn't 1800 bit too early for industrial revolution?
What's the point of having the digits add up to 9? and Is it really that important?

>$90
Isn't it like 70 for the deluxe edition on uplay?

wait open beta? where?

Uplay

we talking AUD, its $90 for the base edition

Am American. Can confirm.
But really it's just the ships are beautiful and I want an Armada.

You can get it from Uplay for $70 my fellow Ausfalian.

Seriously though, if you like Anno 1404/2070, you'll love 1800. If you're unsure, grab the Open Beta from Uplay right now and spend the next few days playing and decide for yourself.

>What's the point of having the digits add up to 9
Devs do it since it's their lucky number. They did mention they will drop it if they run out of valid numbers.

Can't wait for my Collector's Edition to arrive in the mail. I have the 2070 one as well, skipped on 2250 one cause it looked horrible.

Newspaper mechanics are fucking based

Famers require little upkeep so make sure you build a bit of them on every island. On top of that there are items that grant fertility in vicinity of a trade union, use that to get potato fertility on some islands to avoid Schanpps transports.

It's the most important god damn thing in the history of gaming.

>squared cubed
absolutely disgusting

I heard you like grids.

Attached: SweetSweetGrids.jpg (873x999, 266K)

It's super fucking important.

I can't wait for my Anno 18 in Roman times and Anno 1170 during Crusade times, shit just make BC 540 about Greek colonization period and you will have all of my money forever, Blue Byte

There's physical copies? Does it still come with preorder bonuses?

The game and pre-order bonuses are delivered digitally so you can play Day 1 and the rest of the physical collectors stuff arrives when it arrives.

That's what my FLGS told me, that they will give me the DLC code when I pick it up. As far as I know there are in Europe with steelbook litographs, OST, sealed letter from your dad, artbook and first bits of DLC for free.

It's not as based as 1404 but Anno artbooks are some of the best ones out there.

I'm so happy bros, you really have no idea.

why do you link anno?

Nice.
Wait, what if I'm in NA? I checked Ubisoft and amazon but I don't see it. Will I have to import it?

The music, the art, the gameplay, it is quite literally the most polished, charming and downright enjoyable series ever made.

why didn't the bulls just kill the duck?

Well that was fun, I think I'll pre-order it now.

I was able to buy it off of Uplay here in Australia, if you can't buy it there than yeah you'll probably have to import it. But i'm not sure how the delivery of the digital content will work with that.

Most likely

Attached: Anno Collector's.jpg (1084x611, 180K)

Oh God it looks beautiful. I'm getting it Yea Forumsros. I can probably import it from amazon uk.

Holy shit the fucking restraint of that dog.

So does it matter what store I get it for? Why wouldn't I just buy it for Steam as long as I'm still able to?

Playing 1404 and what's the secret to advancing to noble status fast?

Nevermind, it's sold out.

Attached: 1550020027766.gif (400x279, 1.78M)

Not surprised. It's sold out everywhere here as well.

>So does it matter what store I get it for?
Nope, every version is the same, same updates, same servers, they all go through Uplay for MP etc
>Why wouldn't I just buy it for Steam as long as I'm still able to?
I was able to get it on Uplay cheaper than Steam so I went with that, but go with whatever is cheapest for you and makes you happy.

haha

Do you want it on Steam? I bought it for a decent discount at cdkeys (you can probably find it even cheaper at keysites though) and I'm just gonna play it through Uplay and apparently if you own it on Steam you'll have to play it through a ubisoft account anyway.

You splurge on collector's editions but your monitor is 4:3, 1280x1024 in 2019.

I have two monitors, lad. I just prefer playing on my 4:3.

Sure you do.

nice elitism

Cracktorrent when

Will they restock or was it a onetime thing?

I haven't had an optical drive of any kind in my machine for ages. I can't remember the last time I've even had to use a disc for anything. Nice box though.

it's a FREE OPEN BETA ffs.

>game is free
>"WHERE CAN I PIRATE THIS?"

black idiot.

I sure do.

How many animals actually exist? That zoo feature is actually very appealing to me.

What the difference between this new beta and the closed one that was like a month ago?

Attached: 1441120559383.webm (1280x720, 1.03M)

but why?

The absolute mad lad.

H*ck yeah

You're up to some weird things and I don't trust you.

The Zoo is fantastic.
And here's a list of the animals, I don't know if it's complete or if it only contains animals from the beta, but it's extremely large.

anno1800.fandom.com/wiki/Items_-_zoo

I've noticed a few changes. The trade unions work differently now and some of the structures have been remodeled.

Can you upgrade peasants in the beta? I have schnapps, clothes and fish production up and running.

so far it's fucking comfy as fuck, love the improvements to the production things, where you can place it more freely to better use the space, it also looks so much better on small islands. haven't gotten to any combat, but I assume it's 100% retarded as always?

I loved 1602 back in the day until anything resembling combat happened and I liked the different biomes of 1404 (turned off all enemies and pirates there)
Can I do comfy city building in this?
Also I just remembered these games have been made by Blue Byte since 1404, time to go play some Settlers 2

Did the last beta have MP/Campaign?

There's also a bunch of tweaks, new building models, lots of new ornamental stuff, new loading screen art, new music etc

First 3 pop stages are available in the beta. First 2 in the new world.

Yeah just click on their houses and upgrade them if they're ready for a life of pig farming, you have access to 3 tiers in the old world and I think 2 tiers in the new world.

it had multiplayer. Do you know if they added different models to production buildings? It looked retarded stacking them next to each other when they had the exact same models.

its already release?

This looks maximum comfy. Too bad I only have a 8 year old laptop. Well time to sink another 100 hours into 1404 I guess

Upgrading is forced manual this time around.

Tons of bugs fixed, now you can buy animals off the exotic goods lady, expeditions are easier

I've done my desktop publishing shit on 4:3 for 20 years now, have a tablet that is for 4:3 monitors and shit. It's hard to break a habit. Got the second monitor 2 years ago when I got myself a 1060 GTX and been using it to shit post on Yea Forums and play Stellaris while I work.

If I could would've still used my 17" Packard Bell CRT for work. LED Black is so off it hurts. This BenQ 4:3 monitor I have has a really good black that doesn't look like a washed out T-Shirt black.

Zoo works better than in the closed Beta. Now you can actually grab the animals for it without a fuss. I wish they would adjust some prices on the madlads you can get. 150k for a Seasoned pirate, wew.

just open beta until tomorrow

>haven't gotten to any combat, but I assume it's 100% retarded as always?
It's still pretty simple, but it's a lot better now, maneuvering so you can broadside them whilst not getting hit yourself gives you a massive advantage, there's also more military ship types and a lot of different items to go with them.

Yeah, I just noticed. I hope they change this, no way am I clicking on every house to upgrade it.

Attached: Anno1800 2019-04-13 17-03-23-26.jpg (3840x2160, 3.05M)

It's to make sure all of your workforce doesn't transition to next levels leaving your farms without farmhands. If you think about it - workforce tiers are more important than ever.

>1800
>grids

Y I K E S

you can use the upgrade thing and just drag it across whatever you want to upgrade

Someone in the earlier thread mentioned you can click and drag almost anything, including upgrading, so just "draw" over the houses you want to upgrade

You can drag click if that helps. I don't think they are ever going to do auto upgrade since upgrading technically gets rid of population this time around.

Who translated "Wuselfaktor as "Feedback Quality" ?

Attached: Anno 1800 Open Beta2019-4-13-17-4-37.jpg (2560x1440, 466K)

I wish there were some way to make the sky bluer.

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-12-21-11-43.jpg (1920x1080, 526K)

>tfw you're old enough to remember when Anno population just advanced the second they had the resources to and you had literally no manual control over it causing entire islands to spiral out of control and advance before you had the infrastructure to support it.

Good times.

The workforce thing is interesting. So you have to have a certain numbers of the lower classes to work in the industrial sector/on the farms? Do the higher classes have jobs only they can do, or do they just pay more taxes?

Ist das Spiel so gut wie 1404?

That's really a shitload. Would be cool if the animals could breed but I doubt the feature is this deep.

This is a funny problem in every anno game. Glad to see they're still using the same translators.

What so you're at least 12 years old? Good job, dude

Yeap, each tier has jobs only the can/will do so you either need a balance, or satellite islands full of slaves and trade routes to ship the goods in.

Good ol South Florida

>Anno 1404 Venice
>Inflitrate Noble house just as they advance
>Poison the wells, resulting in plague
>They can't build hospitals yet, not enough nobles
>Settlement dies out, regresses to peasant level
>Player can't keep paying the upkeep on all the buildings needed to get him to that level
>Bankrupt

I'm shit out of luck, aren't I?

>Anno 1503 was 16 years ago.
But sure, lets say i'm 12.

Keep checking ebay/amazon like a mad man and start googling around for smaller online distributors who might have a few copies that no ones snapped up yet.

Cool, a new mechanic to think about.
>satellite islands full of slaves and trade routes to ship the goods in
Honestly, that's how I played 1404 and 2070. I outsourced pretty much everything to other islands and shipped it all to the residential one. I anything, I had some factories portside to process domestically mined ore and raw goods shipped in if they didn't take up too much space.

Automatic pop upgrades definitely were in 1404

> Suddenly Executives in 2070
> WHERE IS GOLD
> WHERE ARE THE PHARMACIES
> WE'RE SO ANGERY WE'RE GONNA RIOT

Good times.

Workforce is essential for all tiers.
Farms need farmers so if you're thinking of making bread, all those wheat farms need farmers while mills and bakeries need workers.

For artisan stuff is even worse - lumberjacks are farmers, sand mine is workers, glass panel makers artisans and windowmakers artisans. So you have to have all three pops unless you transport stuff from other parts of your empire.

You need to look through game stores directly if Amazon is out.

Schwer zu sagen, aber sehr ähnlich.

>I outsourced pretty much everything to other islands and shipped it all to the residential one
Isn't that literally how the games are supposed to work?

You could turn it off if you were hoarding tools/stone/wood/glass.

I missed the small npcs on islands in 1404 like the friar you could buy stuff from, the bandit knight, the Arab university who needed dates and milk, etc. They also gave you quests iirc. Anything like that this time around?

You could toggle them in 1404, in 1503 and base 1701 you couldn't do shit about them.

Aside from paying more taxes but they also have their own jobs that only they can do.

>I missed the small npcs on islands in 1404 like the friar you could buy stuff from, the bandit knight, the Arab university who needed dates and milk, etc. They also gave you quests iirc. Anything like that this time around?

Yeap, lots of that this time around.

Attached: Anno 1800 Closed Beta2019-2-2-3-6-24.jpg (1920x1080, 454K)

Early game I produced cider/rice liquor/whatever on the main island, until you could build ships and tools to set up farms elsewhere. Domestic production of essential goods isn't a bad idea if you have threats to your shipping though.

Attached: Anno 1800 Closed Beta2019-2-4-20-17-11.jpg (1920x1080, 460K)

not on the same island as the player factions though

Those look like islands like Northburgh/Grand Vizier Al-Zaheer (I love how the name rhymes)/Garibaldi. I meant actual islands you could settle and there happens to be a building you connect to where a minor npc lives.

Sweet jesus that's a lot of animals, i've literally played zoo games with less animals.

1280x1024 is 5:4 moran
educate yourself

This game and others like it prove to me that art direction isn't a lost art in the west, and that the only good artists left in the world live in Japan.
The loading screens of this game and many others like it are absolutely goregous and a clear expression that western art is not a lost cause just yet.

Attached: memes carbonated yoghurt.jpg (900x1200, 177K)

Can you have slaves and cotton plantations in this game

This is my first Anno since it sounds like something I would like. How the fuck do I download the demo? I bought it on steam but it looks like some political bullshit is going on with their stores. Don't the stores just feed into Uplay anyway?

It's a game published by a major AAA publisher in 2019. What the fuck do you think?

Games from non english speaking countries are the only hope of the west. The US is a lost cause.

I got it through uplay, 18gb download.

Uplay. You will need that regardless of where you buy it so might aswell get it now.

Where's Anno made?

Open uPlay and there shoudl be a big advert to grab open beta.

Germany

Oh shit my bad, yeah I know what you mean and I haven't seen it in the beta yet.

Deutschland if i remember correctly

Dev's German but since they're owned by Ubisoft (French), I suspect they have as much say in what exactly they wanna develop as Bioware does

>Where's Anno made?
Where all the best city builders and village management games are made.
Germany. They've pretty much single handedly carried the genre for the last 20+ years, it's wild.

>Can you have slaves and cotton plantations in this game

Slavery was abolished in England long before US abolished it but yeah you can have plantations in the new world with underpaid mulatto workers.

In best germany

Attached: Anno1800 2019-04-13 17-24-53-23.jpg (3840x2160, 1.59M)

See if you can buy it from uplay or voidu for cheaper and refund it if that's the case.

What about Cities Skylines? Also, it's been 21 years but I'm still convinced turning the Settlers series into a regular-ass RTS by making units controllable was a bad idea

It looks like there is cotton ingame, but you need latinos to pick it. I guess I'll have to content myself with exploiting workers in Dickensian conditions this time around. Pumping oil, developing a nuclear arsenal and polluting the world was fun in 2070. What resource is needed to produce soap according to the German developers?

>Want to play beta.
>But already have the game preordered so I might as well play something else instead.
>but I REALLY want to play the beta.

I already have uPlay, and I don't see anywhere to download. Just news about the rewards.

if it were trully the case anno 2205 would have been the last entry, it's a niche game from a small studio it's low investment/low payoff on ubisoft part

There's a big banner in the news tab even after I downloaded the beta. Check there, user. Then again, maybe it's there for me because I've been playing 2070.

pigs.

And one of the NPCs will actively urge you to do so. So it's pretty based. Also you can censor the FUCK out of the press, which is great.

Try this: register.ubisoft.com/anno-1800/en-GB

Attached: Clipboard02.jpg (919x677, 65K)

There is also a higher up in Ubisoft that loves the Anno games.

>What about Cities Skylines?
Cities Skylines is garbage of the highest order, curved roads doesn't make up for the completely broken gameplay, total lack of art direction, garbage engine and all round pile of half assed, half finished soulless shit that it is.

Also Settlers is great, sure there's been a lot of experimentation, but i've legitimately enjoyed them all.

Cultures series is also great, and again, German.

Yeah it's not there. I just get entry level PC advice and free game listings.

>Latino class
>Needs regualr shipments of ponchos and tortillas
kek

>What about Cities Skylines?
Spurdo Sparde country

Agent limit is fucking disgusting and people asked it to be lifted/regulated and they're not listening.

There's like 3 mentions of the Beta in the News section. and Anno 1800 Open beta at the top of the window. How can you not notice it?

WTF, Mine looks like that but without the ANNO, or even the store option.

>Cultures
Wow that's a blast from the past
Port Royale and The Guild are also German IIRC

You actually can always see where exactly Ubisoft was involved with development. They always ruin only small aspects, the Anno team fucked up 2205 all on their own. This time Ubisoft didn't fuck over the core game at all, just the method of distribution.

Is it too early to say 2205 is better? I just like the superfuturism aspect/theme of it, this just looks like banished or every other city builder ever

Attached: 1521030998255.png (917x738, 573K)

There is no mention of the beta at the top. The news section only contains news, and has no links within it.

>2205 is a better Anno game because it's set in the future
Hey guys, I wonder what this guy's first Anno game was

Follow the arrows user.

Attached: Beta.jpg (1472x1034, 586K)

1800 is back to the 1404/2070 model so it's automatically better than 2205. They learnt lessons from it. Like how the different biomes are near instantaneous to travel between.

HALP

Attached: uplay.png (578x345, 17K)

2205 had a great theme ruined by extremely simplified/dumb down gameplay.

>Like how the different biomes are near instantaneous to travel between.
Yeah you win that one, moving between the moon and earth with a loading screen just because you got something you need on one planet on the other was bullshit

Ahahahaha
Start with uninstalling Siege, see if that helps.
Alternatively, I have no fucking idea, what country are you from? How do you buy games on Uplay normally?

are you russian

2205 streamlined so much shit that it was barrely providing any chalenge, I like the future as well, but anno 2205 went full casual
I would however say that 2205 is a good way to get into the anno series if you're not familiar with it I spent countless hours on tropico were the population is mostly a mean to get factories and farms to fonction so I can export stuff. Anno work the other way around because at first it's the population who gives you money and the factories who cost you, so 2205 was a big tutorial for me

What the fuck is wrong with your client?

Attached: Untitled.png (987x558, 463K)

No. I've lived in the USA my whole life. Haven't installed a VPN on this computer either.

Yeap both german, Patrician is another German good-un, Kalypso....although they've kinda gone down the shitter.

If the German games industry vanished i'd be a very sad man.

Jesus christ, this is the worst thing I have ever seen

Try restarting the Uplay client?
Has your Uplay account been banned or some shit?

Cope

Attached: Untitled.png (1251x176, 41K)

God bless German Lebensraum-autism becoming a creative tool for entertainment for the likes of us.

I never even knew Kalypso was German, neat
And I know we're talking about city buildan here but I can't help but mention that Piranha Bytes is the best developer in the world and the only ones who still know how to make proper open worlds

I have never been banned, and I have restarted. I'm gonna try reinstalling it.

What happens if you scroll down to the Free Games section under the Games tab?

Attached: Games.jpg (1689x847, 200K)

1404 was like that too.

>arab class
>needs large supply of goats and carpets

Keep uplay open, go to the ubi store (web browser) and select to participate in anno open beta somehwere in there.

Tried that. It just jumps the the activation code screen.

>bridges cost 20 wood
That is just out of order. Especially if you get stuck on a starting island where your only access to clay is across a river.

fuck anime and fuck low IQ weebs.

Attached: screenshot_2019-04-12-21-11-59.jpg (1920x1080, 726K)

Attached: uplay2.jpg (1680x1018, 271K)

So if you buy it on steam before it gets delisted can you end up playing it from there versus having to buy it on Epic?

Granted it's going to probably launch via uplay anyway. And I dont give a rat's ass about achievements or anything. So is steam still viable then?

This game is fun, fuck steam and fuck steam shills

Will it be possible to play the open beta after the game launches in a few days, or are they taking it down?

>goats and carpets
Heh, never thought of it that way. Thanks user, you made me laugh.
>Build Arab ghetto and mosque in western island
>Close it off with walls to keep the peace

Yes

Or just buy it on uplay and ignore both Steam and EGS? You need to use Uplay regardless, why buy it through an extra layer when you can cut out the middle man.

kek I was almost going to mention them, so now that we're busily sucking sweet sweet ubermensch cock Mimimi Productions deserve a massive shout out for Shadow Tactics as well, and they're making a new Desperados.

...which brings me to good old Jowood Entertainment, albeit Austrian, rather than German.

...oh and the X series.

Love Germans, which makes no sense given i'm an Australian, but 90% of my favourite stuff is German made.

Attached: Shadow Tactics.jpg (1920x1080, 462K)

Haha oh wow, you've been well and truly cock blocked.

I have no idea man, maybe go trawling through a support thread somewhere for someone with a similar issue.

Have you linked your Uplay account? Its a Uplay game, regardless of where you buy it from.
I originally had issues because I hadn't linked my account, I could see the game but it had an "Unavailable" button instead of download. Linking and "purchasing" the free open beta from Uplay got it into my Library in the Epic launcher.

Its very wonky and I hope they fix that shit, bad first impression for me as a newcomer to the software.

It'll get taken down.

I've never used the Epic store. Bought it on Steam and figured it wouldn't be a problem since it would all be managed by uPlay. I really didn't think uPlay would be this much of an issue.

>new Desperados
Holy fuck sign me up. Remember when the gaming industry showered us with Commandos clones? It really was the WW2 FPS of its time

It shouldn't have anything to do with Epic or Steam, if he fires up Uplay the Beta should be there.

Unless it's not a proper Uplay account and some weird Steam/Uplay portal thing?

Do you have a single game you've paid for? I only have the Division 1 and didn't link anything to my Ubi acc and I see the demo.

is multiplayer require for this game? Gonna pirate it but if muliplayer have lots of content then I'll need to buy it.

Robin Hood and Desperados were too good. Commandos 2 is still possibly one of my fav games ever. Absolute amazing.

I tried reinstalling from the uPlay website and I get the same thing.

I have all the games I've ever payed for still in my account.

Its a Uplay game, its on your Uplay account, you can link it with whatever store front, or play directly there I think.

Cool, thanks for that link

Dumb suggestion but you're not in offline mode are you?

>Sandor Clegane after S8

I hereby name you Anno-Less-user.

Nope.

It's very sad to be me right now.

It's Paul Bunyan.

At this point it sounds like a thing you should be bringing up to their support team

So I completed some quest and it was like BUY THE GAME FAG NOW QUIT TO MENU but I can still keep playing, is it just the main story I can't continue? Should I just stop playing otherwise I'll have tons of stuff the main story didn't expect me to have yet? I'm so confused

>It's very sad to be me right now.
To be Anno-less is the very definition of a miserable existence, but as the other user said, I think you need to go and shit up their support page or something, I think we've basic bitch troubleshooted it as much as we can.

It's probably that - the main story ends there for the beta but you can still keep playing in Sandbox mode

Just keep playing user, the campaign just turns into a regular sandbox game, or start a sandbox game from scratch.

You can keep playing until they take the beta offline.

Well I just noticed that my save is like an hour behind so fuck it, I already bought the game ill just wait until its out to continue

>to continue
Boy have I got some bad news for you.
Saves don't carry over from the beta to the full release.

I'm definitely not playing more then.

>implying you can't just copy paste the saves from their folders into the full game like you can with closed and open beta saves
rofl

I've used their support before and it is one of the most painful thing's I've ever done, but It's definitely looking more like a fucked up account issue. Their website shows me everything in brittish pounds despite being in the US, and everything in my account saying US and USD$.

You can't, the AI in the beta is specifically geared for three tiers, it will completely fuck your game.

Although it's gotta be worth doing it for a laugh.

>2019
>caring about GRIDS

What a fucking pleb.

I passed on Anno 2070 because a bunch of the reviews said it was unplayable after a few years due to DRM, what are the odds of the same shit happening with this game?

Attached: big dick is back in town.png (480x580, 359K)

Odyssey is a great game

Random tip, you can manually request quests from AI through the diplomacy screen, makes grinding rep easy as fuck to offset you telling them to go fuck themselves constantly.

Attached: Anno 1800 Open Beta2019-4-14-1-50-58.jpg (1920x1080, 361K)

>unplayable after a few years due to DRM
You can still play it, but it requires fucking a bit with the updater.exe. Won't happen this time as it isn't always-online. The beta is though.

You got duped cause you skipped out on a really good Anno.

As far as 1800 goes. Watch them remove the DRM in half a year.

Anno 2070 is 100% playable offline so those people are full of shit.

Also you missed out on a great Anno.

>implying i'm not playing a closed beta save right now

Attached: festival.jpg (479x984, 83K)

>I passed on Anno 2070 because a bunch of the reviews said it was unplayable after a few years due to DRM
Wait, what? I haven't had any problems in like 8 years.
Is this on Steam or Uplay?

Did you not read my post about the BETA AI being geared for the BETA tiers which are capped at 3, rather than 5 or something?

>is 100% playable offline
That's a lie. It's online only and all your ARC features in sp games don't work without online.

Yeah it was a pain in the ass to install anno 2070 like 6 months ago on my rig.
despite buying it directly through uplay i had to insert a keycode then launch an autopatcher that launched another autopatcher then finally when i was ingame it couldn't connect to ubisoft server.
Thought i had fucking up somewhere during the process, turns out ubi server were on downtime.

Last time I checked ARC features don't constitute the entire game.

make a new account and log into uplay and it will work, uplay prevents you from seeing the store if you only own games through steam and you have to buy a game from ubisoft's browser to make the shop tab appear in the app

That's already not 100% playable. And they can throw the same shit for 1800 on release.

is that the fourth worker type? how did you get those since i thought it was limited to three?

scientists

This is because you have not purchased a game on Uplay. Siege I am assuming was bought and activated thru Steam.

You can't access the store if you haven't claimed a game via Ubisoft code or physical purchase. Dumb as shit but it happened to my friend as he was trying to download it yesterday and he just ended up downloading it on Epic games launcher.

The UI at the top?
That's one of the new world worker types.

I really need to do something about my pirate situation, it's getting out of hand.

>Not befriending the pirate chick

I want to have snu-snu with pirate lady

Are expansions going to be free?I don't see a season pass. Will there be expansion?

Anno expansions are never free.

of course they are going to be free. they don't want to make profit and made the game purely for altruistic reasons

>Will there be expansion?
Speculation is that we'll get either an Africa/Orient biome and an Acrtic/North Atlantic biome as well in DLC/Expansion.

But nothings been announced at this stage.

First DLC is called "The Anarchist", so it will probably be some mechanic addition.

Sandbox mode (new name for continuous mode) is infinite play.

This guy right here, this poster , this is an incel right here. Big time and probably loves nintendo.

It's called population density or some such in most games.

1800, 1404 or 2070?

I'm sorry that my tip has offended you so deeply user, my apologies.

is this fun? I loved banish

Yes

Attached: Anno1800 2019-04-13 19-16-08-79.jpg (3840x2160, 1.98M)

Sadly not, it'd be amazing to.

This.

Realizing that you don't need to fully supply your population before advancing to the next stage and that you can cut the supply of goods to the previous population level once you've upgraded their houses. So for example, while you need to supply spices and linen to your citizens to upgrade them, once you upgraded your desired number of patricians you can cut the citizen's supply of spices and linen.

In practice, let's say for a city of 75 peasants, 75 citizens, 75 patricians and 50 nobles (in number of houses), while you would need 10 fish, 12 cider, 7 spices, 7 linen, 5 bread, 5 beer, 3 jacket, and 2 book chains to fully supply them, you can get away with only needing 10 fish, 8 cider, 4 spice, 4 linen, 2 bread, 2 beer, 1 jacket and 1 book. This is a huge amount of time saved in saving up money for building costs, setting ships for trade routes, and even just placing down building. This effect is even more pronounced for your oriental population (ie envoys). And since most of your income will be coming in from sale of coffee, carpets, and pearl necklaces, the amount of money you're losing on the extra taxes (which would partially be offset by the production cost of the goods anyway) is negligible.

I'm about to start 1404. Never played the series before. Anything I should know?

If you installed uplay through steam there's not a store for some reason you can log in directly on the ubsoft site then go to

register.ubisoft.com/anno-1800/en-US

and reopen uplay and it'll be on your account

Attached: 1535623960166.jpg (375x344, 64K)

Is the number of people in houses still tied to what goods your providing them? I always thought it was stupid in 2205 how a portion of your workers would suddenly just move out if you stopped giving them orange juice and immediately move back in once you started providing it again. 1404 was better in that if you didn't provide a good to your population they would just pay you less taxes rather than get up and leave.

oh ok, thanks, i really need to play more. i don't think i even exapdned into the new world during the closed beta. the campaign ends way too early as well, basically means you can't mine your own iron without buying it

I played through the limited campaign. How is the sandbox? Can you get past worker on the beta?

Not really, just get comfy and enjoy, come and ask questions/make a thread if you get stuck on anything.

Only 3 tiers still, I believe.

Yeah it goes up to the third tier, Artisans in the Beta for the Old World.

Is this still comfy despite industrialization?

Oh shit, AI is mad as fuck and doing full naval drive by shootings of other AI settlements.

yes

It's supremely comfy and it really doesn't feel *that* much more industrial than 1404.

What's the hotkey to disable the UI for screenshots?

Which?

any news about other future future DLC?
i was dying to see a Desert bione or artic biome in this game

Attached: anno.jpg (1024x577, 145K)

Just another AI to play against. Each AI has their own little quirks so wonder how he will be.

They haven't said anything about biome DLC, but it's pretty much a given that they will add them

7:10 - 9:15 is the best track from 1800. Change my mind. Even the festival orchestras play it.

Very much so. It's 1404 tier.

In closed beta I was really pissed off about how broken Expeditions were. Now that they're fixed, it's a total upgrade over the 2070 passive system

>bow before the goddesses

Attached: 1532936934908.gif (480x270, 266K)

What was broken in closed beta? I was too stupid to realise you could use a bunch of random stuff to buff my expeditions, but other than that they seemed ok.

Basically your ships never had basic stats they have now. It was impossibly hard to acquire NPCs to boost your chances and cargo had little effect on your expedition

I'm trying the beta and I really don't get how to make money. Why is every productive things costing money? I have too many pops doing nothing and when I try building stuff to give them jobs then I start losing money.

Oh shit lads, i've stumbled onto a village of aryans.

It's open beta dumbass literally anyone can get in, if you refuse to download uplay/epic then wait til the game is actually out

Is it out already? I thought it was in a few days from now

>Crack when?
Could be a bit of a wait user, but if you're quick you can play the Open Beta for a while before it ends.

You get all the yikes, mate.

Go to games folder and make sure it uses your gpu instead onboard intel gpu or something.

That's not even a tip. That's just how you play the game.

Yea I messed up, whatever I learned my lesson and had fun in the process.Have to buy it now f*ck.

It's like you've never bought an Anno game before.

Anno games have had Ubisoft fuckery and crazy DRM for like 15 years now mate, doesn't stop them being fucking awesome games.

I played one of the old ones like 15 years ago. Haven't heard anything good about Anno games since then

This is nothing. Once they had a DRM so hard, they would only let you install the game 3 times before it would self destruct.

>Haven't heard anything good about Anno games since then
LMFAO

No one really talks about anything past 1404.

Go and find me a single fucking Anno thread in the archive posted in the last four years that doesn't discuss Anno 1404, Anno 2070, and Anno 2025.

Beg your pardon? 2070 was just as popular. You could build shit UNDERWATER, user. And it had the best combat.

ree I want to keep my city, extend this beta to release ubisoft now

It's the worst fucking feeling but we have only ourselves to blame.

I don't know if I can wait those three damn days to get my copy. I want it now.

GIVE BROWN GF ALREADY

How long until denuvo gets cracked again? 3 days?

Go back and play some Anno 1404 and 2070 for a bit, it makes you appreciate all the little subtle refinements in 1800 that much more.

How the fuck do I make money in this game? I feel like I'm always in the red

Anno games tend to be a bit more complicated, so i'm wagering 2-4 weeks.

How is it bros? Is it 1404 tier or is it 2100 tier?

If you're in the red, you need more farmers/workers to pay tax.
It's as simple as that.

The complexity of the game doesn't matter, it's all about the version of denuvo

It's 1404 but oh so much sweeter tier.

>Protip:To kill the Cyberdemon, shoot at it until it dies.

noice

Attached: 1550928649908.png (550x550, 445K)

>Not coming back with an armada and taking them as sex slaves.

>The complexity of the game doesn't matter, it's all about the version of denuvo
But that's wrong, there are lots of games running versions of Denuvo that are now two years old and still haven't been cracked. (Battlefront 2, Burnout Paradise Remastered, Zone of the Enders, New Gundam Breaker etc)

In the case of Anno (much like those other games) you're not just cracking Denuvo, you're cracking all the online integration shit as well.

Go and have a look at the cracked versions of previous Anno games, they're an absolute shitshow, and that was prior to Denuvo.

Like I said, it's going to take 2-4 weeks to get a cracked version, and even then it's going to be painfully incomplete.

he isn't talking about the complexity of gameplay, have you ever played an anno game before retard

Attached: Violar las mujeres.jpg (3840x2160, 1.05M)

Thank GOD there have been no serious accidents at the construction site!

Should I buy the game or torrent it in 2 weeks? I am super cheap and I love getting things for free.

Attached: 1517711793242.jpg (250x250, 10K)

>buys 1t of wood
You got a good deal there!

Buy the game. BB needs the money.

I'm sure that the lustful intentions has a 0% chance of success all the time and there is actually no choice in this event

If you want to have a good time, buy a cheap key from somewhere in two weeks, if you want to have a bad time, torrent it in two weeks.

Buy it, companies like this need support.

Torrent, the online connectivity bullshit adds nothing.

>funding the inevitable takeover of BB by ubisoft.

Yea, I hate buying single player games unless it's a really promising indie game that will be getting a lot of updates.

>supporting denuvo

Doesn't it have denuvo? It's going to be 3-4 weeks until torrents.

>online connectivity bullshit adds nothing.

ah well guess i'll wait

Attached: Anno1800 2019-04-13 21-03-12-18.jpg (3840x2160, 2.61M)

...b-but everyone here says the online is shit and adds nothing of value.

Does this offer anything new, or is it the same re-skinned formula?

But then they have needs and I need to build more fisheries / clothes workshops / whatever so that they don't get angry and riot, and that costs upkeep which puts me back in the red

What's the cheapest way to get this game? CDKeys is pretty expensive for this one.

$50 USD on GreenManGaming.

Should I pull the trigger, anons?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!

And like 2070, adds nothing to actually making comfy cities. Its like Simcity 2013 where all the online junk is just there to sell the DRM and service while adding nothing to the actual fucking city building.

Tax is your bread and butter. Provide their needs and you'll get your costs and more back in tax money. Pays for itself.

can i get this on steam without using additional software ? or does it not matter and i can wait for a reviews first?

damn those screens are just so beautiful, i love those old houses style.

i hate the future setting in the past 2 Annos, everything there feels so lifeless

Same shit, better trees, better sim, better industry and trading, worse battles.

Anyone got a torrent yet? This shit isn't for sale on Steam.

Checked igg-games but nothing

No it doesn't user.
There is literally no reason you should ever be in the red past having a lumberjack, sawmill and fishery.

I'm not even memeing.

Either you're spending a fuck ton of money producing things you don't need, or you don't have enough people paying tax.

*ahem*

GERT
LUSH

Even the epic store launcher still installs Uplay addons.

Ironically, Uplay + 20% off with Uplay Points.

Full game hasn't been released, not even review copies.

I mean I might as well since every version requires Uplay anyway.

No matter where you buy it, it's still going to use Uplay.

$50 sounds pretty good.

Yes it is, and the game isn't even out yet faggot.
Literal double retard.

I can't be fucked to pay $60

Anyone have it at $30 yet?

I guess family sharing on Steam won't work for this?

>What's after tier 3? 4-5 is what? What's higher than Artisan?
Engineers and Investors.

>Also is a good idea to have cities with only Artisan and import everything else?
Makes my dick hard, and it's always my goal, but it's inherently inefficient but absolutely doable.

Anno scratches a very particular itch, if you like Anno games, especially 1404 or 2070 it's well worth it.

Nope.

Does the epic store have something similar?

I've been playing Anno 1404 for a decade now. I'll probably play Anno 1800 for another decade.
Shit yes it's worth $60.
But just go and play the Open Beta, it's free, decide for yourself.

>Makes my dick hard, and it's always my goal, but it's inherently inefficient but absolutely doable.
It's so satisfying late game though when you have a mega city being fed by half the map.

I already played 1404 and 2070. Those games are very similar.

Is this a reskin again?

Anyone know of a way to get ubisoft fun bux so I can get the 20% discount

I have like 50 coins but fuck if I know where I got em from

Industrial Revolution was happening in 1700s with textile factories buddy. In 1800 it was already in full motion.

Do achievements in game. That's how you get them. Look at the club rewards that give coins.

ANNO-less-annon here
FINALLY GOT IT.
uPlay turned off a lot of features since I only bought games through steam, and the uPlay store website reardedly automatically directed me to the UK website. Just forced to to the US one and was able to buy the game there. Have to refund the Steam copy unfortunately. Fuck ubisoft and their shitty launcher.

Each of your Uplay games will have Good Goy Challenges that reward Good Goy Points.

Most games have 100-200 points you can earn.

Attached: Challenges.jpg (1646x917, 75K)

Glad you got it sorted out user.

There isn't a steam copy though, just like there isn't an epic copy.

I can't find any statistics ingame.

its 1404 micro and trading with the best features from 2070 and 2205. i just hope they expand the world map to have more playable sectors.

Just voted for Eden to spite you.

2070 was such a charming game.

If the building that ferries people between islands doesn't actually have a ferry travel, this game will be shit. Even if the workers travel instantly and ferries crossing the island are just for looks it's fine.

The trains are bad enough, they better not fuck up ferries too

Man they had some advanced tech in 1800.

You pick silly things to get upset about.

>graphics are the most important part of a game
disgusting, please leave

Anno is home to all forms of Autism, great and small.

He's in luck though.

What the fuck, the open beta has been going on for days? God damn it. Now I barely have any time to try it.

It's out? I have a literal toaster of a pc. Kinda sad about missing this. Guess I'll re-install and re-play 1404 then or Banished. Have fun fellow Annobros.

If you can run 1404, you should be able to run 1800.
You've still got like a day to check out the Open Beta on Uplay, so give it a crack if you can spare the bandwidth.

I'm still mystified as to what role trains will play

You're on a fucking island and no one commutes anywhere, what's the point

Only been up for a day. But it's the same as the closed beta if you played that. They just changed a few building models and you can play the first bit of the campaign.

They ship oil from the oil fields to the oil harbour to the power plants.

Transporting oil between harbors and power plants. Thats it. They probably felt like they had to put trains in because MUH SYMBOL OF INDUSTRY

Should I get the futuristic ones?

no

Anno 2070, absolutely.
Anno 2025, absolutely fucking not.

2070 is pretty good. 2205 is trash and easily the worst title in the series.

How important is class tension in this one?

Thanks anons!

Funny enough if you read up on first trains, they were soley used for transporting stuff like coal or iron ore instead of using horse drawn carriages. The passenger use was not as common until mid-1800s

>Backyards

Jesus Christ how beautiful.

Also how the hell do I avoid grids when everything is built on a grid layout.

when you place houses just dont think about it. Throw them down randomly

Oh, really? IIRC my pc can't run 2070.Well it can, but runs like dogshit. I guess I'll try the open beta then and see how it goes. Thanks user.

So what do you do in this game once you've reached aristocratic society? I killed one of the pirates but it felt very underwhelming as combat is extremely basic. Don't feel like I made and progress after playing for 8 hours. Is this it? Am I finished with the game? Is it just maintining traderoutes and further expansion now?

Feel kind of lucky that I tried out the beta, Game is decent but not €60 decent.

ANYBODY GOT A TORRENT

based retard

shingeki no Lumber

Wanted to give this series a try some day but I fear the freedom of Cities: Skylines would make it impossible to get into.

DO YOU HAVE A TORRENT

2070 is a fututistic 1404. Not as amazing, but still very good.
2205 is a let down.

Go for it.

>called Anno 1800
>takes place in the 1880s

Yeah I know, le epic "= 9" meme, but that's still retarded af
When it comes to technology and architecture, the year 1800 looked closer from the year 1700 than from the year 1880.

I'm happy that a Anno thread can float in this shithole of a board, there is still hope for this place.

As interesting as the game is, what the fuck is up with the sensitivity

I click onto build something and want to hover over where I place it, but it immediately plops down 2 or 3 houses

>patching module spam
unforgivable

So what are the factions in this game? I assume Europe and the New World, but is there anything else?

2070 yes, especially with deep ocean. the interface as damn near perfect; nice and clean with all the info you need not taking up a lot of space.
2205 is very pretty game and sort of fun its just too easy and simplifies the trade micro. you'll still run routes and do chains but managing them is very simple because the game wants you spending less time microing and more time building and expanding. the military aspect gets tiresome and repetitive but you can turn it off. it lacks ornament variety but it brought some good stuff that carried over to 1800 to add some good layers of gameplay.

German 1800s, dope. Not American.

You can make a building work overtime now. I suspect they did not want to have both options available as it would be messy and confusing.

its a free beta you dip

Is it worth having to download the Epic Launcher? Or should I just wait for the time exclusivity to end?

get it on uplay you doofus. no silly extra launcher like steam or egs

Just get it directly through uPlay. There is literally no reason to get it through Epic

you can dl via uplay without ebik and you can do the same with steam until the 16th

I'd rather just not play it. Every time I've had anything with uPlay its always been a fucking nightmare.

you don't have a choice lad
if you get it on steam or ebin you still have to launch uplay

You do know that steam just launches uplay right

Pirating it is then.

2070 review on steam: mostly negative

Uhmmm...

Uplay isn't shit anymore.

Germany in the 1800s didn't look anywhere near Anno 1800.
It still had the tech and architecture of the 18th century (so no steamboats, no factories...etc) and had French troops occupying the place.

Read the reviews, half are complaining that it uses uplay and the other half are shitting on 1800 for leaving steam. None actually about the game

Ahhh thanks user. That makes sense now.

Can anyone tell me what this series is?
Is it city building? Grand strategy?
Campaign based? Freeform?
Whats the point of it?

but at least it opens it real quick and closes it, you dont even see it and dont have to login and remember a password for it

Because you cant launch it from the box anymore. It used securom originally, but removing it fucked the updater. There are workarounds of course.

City builder with a focus on production chains and trade routes

>epic launcher
>all the normies not buying it
>Yea Forums 3rd worlders, niggers and spiccs would have stolen it anyways (epic store as an excuse)

Is this game even paying of in the slightest?

City building/supply chain management

Small correction, it used Solidshield, not Securom. Same anal savagery for the customer though.

Mine was the same. In opened my browser and went to uplays site and bought the game then the store and cart appeared in my Uplay client. I had to do the same thing to make the beta appear. Try this clicking play beta now from here: ubisoft.com/en-ca/game/anno-1800/

On EPIC

congrats you're retarded

Hmm, how does it compare to Tropico, Sim City 4 or CitiesSkylines?

not at all like simcity nor CS. Closer to tropico but still much different. The beta's free. Just play it.

Play the beta. It's just a demo anyways

Attached: tomare.png (1266x715, 1.34M)

its free on uplay based retard. it being "on epic" is meaningless because just like if it was "on steam" it just launches uplay.

multiplayer in 1800 seems dope as fuck though

>1 day left
Shit guess I better DL quick.
Are there any tips for this series/beta to know about first? Or is it fairly easy to go in blind?

Turn on tutorials and you are fine.

Should I refund Sekiro for this?

Instead of AI players which may or may not cheat a bit, you now have up to 3 bros competing against you, fucking you over in new ways you didn't even considered possible. It's really fun if you can get a full lobby, but keep in mind a match will last several days.

there's a campaign that will show you everything if your new and you can turn help feedback to really detailed or just brief. after you finish the campaign you go into endless sandbox which is where these games really shine.

what's the best anno game to play while I wait for 1800?

1404

is 1404's multiplayer any good?

is it good?

How is 1502 or 1701?

godod goy points can be used for discounts (but only on things that isnt already discounted) so they are not 100% useless.

lol if you think you can get a refund by the 16th, yes.

most fun quest in the game goes to...

They riot if they don't have soap.

They riot if they dont have soap, you make them increase productivity by 50%, and you start running out of food

Is it worth buying on Steam store or should I just give into jew tactics and buy through uplay?

How do I raise morale on a ship after an expedition? Does it go up just by not being on one?

So long as it's not epic, you're golden.

It requires uPlay regardless.

Didn't enjoy 1701 personally, multiple things were just really strange in execution. For example, aristocrats would demand, one of four "exotic" goods, which you could only buy from the right exotic culture if you had a pact with them. Here's the catch: the amount you can buy is limited and the resupply rate fixed. It was impossible to get more than a certain number of aristocrats as you simply weren't able to supply all of them. Tax income is just constantly low the whole time, when suddenly exploding when getting the highest pop tier.
One thing I did like about 1701 were the research trees, where you did had to choose between buffs are covert actions, although 2070 did an even better job at making choices with the introduction of starting factions.

you need uplay no matter what dingus
why are you paying for double drm even before the epic shit started

it literally doesn't matter where you buy it

cheapest is prob a key website
