I played both, I left the gun for the B game, yes I got the key off him when I felt like it, yes I do and the ones in the break room hallway. Also the remake was absolute fire.

REmake 2 was great, and serves as a fun alternative way to experience the game alongside the orignal, not as a replacement.

Claire’s campaign should have been completely unique from Leon’s especially if they weren’t going to bother expanding on the zapping system, it’s complete shit how you have to fight all the same bosses twice and the campaigns don’t effect each other at all, giving you no sense of continuity. It’s honestly a 10/10 remake in so many ways that it’s sad they dropped the ball in certain areas. Where the fuck is EX Battle? I want to see RE1 Chris on the RE Engine.

I prefer playing Claire A first because it means Leon's arsenal for the tyrant and I prefer the storytelling with Leon and Ada here to Leon A (though Leon A is still p good when it comes to that)
They had the opportunity to create something that truly surpassed the original in every conceivable way, just like Resident Evil 2002 did. They didn't do it here with 2. They created something that appeals to the shallow minded modern gamer, the same ones that say Resident Evil 4 is the second coming of Christ. It's a shallow shitty game for shallow shitty people.

Only if you’re a shallow, shitty person who thinks better graphics=better game. It’s the same fucking game and the additions are minor, the only reason people fellate it so much is because the graphics are nice, even though they drained out all the colour which negatively effected the gameplay since colour was a large factor in memorising areas in the original, now everything is the same washed out shade of grey. RE2R has 1000% more effort poured into it than REmake and I respect it for that, I hope they end up remaking RE1 again in the same style.

I heard Capcom initially was going to design the game like this, but as soon as nostalgia blinded boomers started REEEEing they backpedaled and made the scenarios largely the same to mirror the scenarios in the original
