I legit think battle for middle earth 2 and its expansion too ofc were the greatest RTS games ever made. Had an excellent campaign. Amazing online and custom maps. The custom maps and story scenarios they made from them were so good, it had a lite-totalwar game mode too. Truly EA's best game.

I play a RTS-FPS hybrid.
When the commander starts going aesthetics autism that's a guaranteed sign of a win. No idea why, but the instant you start seeing senseless bullshit that looks pretty, you know victory will follow.
Austere functional autism is usually a good sign too so long as nobody pokes the sleeping autismobear by implying that "fun" is a valid reason for playing games.
Commander who tries to be halfway between looking good and being functional though is a guaranteed loss.
