Rank them from best to worst Yea Forums
Zelda
Fuck you and your obsession with rankings.
I don't like Zelda in general honestly, even the critically acclaimed ones.
Then why did you enter this thread?
OOT>ALTTP>MM>WW>LA>TP>ALBW>BOTW>SS
twilight princess was so bad.
Of the ones I’ve played:
1. BOTW
Best: OOT, WW, MM
Worst: TP, SS, BOTW
To give my opinion. Which is what you were looking for.
Stop putting BOTW in these. It fucking sucks and is the epitome of bad game design.
I'm pretty sure OP was looking for the opinions of fans of the series and how they would rank them.
OOT≥MM>everything else
>Mixing 2D Zeldas with 3D Zeldas
No.
>fans of the series
Not only fans can rank these games.
TLOZ > ALBW > BOTW > WW. the rest are shit
if you're not a fan, and you "don't like zelda in general" why would you force yourself to play through them? If you have played through all of these, why? If you haven't, you can't rank them other than by cover
Majora’s
Ocarina
Wind Waker
dog doodoo
Twilight Princess
That’s all I’ve played.
TP a best
For the 3D games:
TP>OOT=MM>WW>>>>SS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a pile of dogshit shaped like link >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BOTW
The 2d games are too different to directly compare
TP HD > Seasons(fuck LA) > OoT > BotW > Squidward sword > MM > LttP > WW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LBW
First game was the original LoZ.
1. BOTW
2. MM
3. LA
4. ALTTP
5. OOT
6. ALBW
7. TWW (HD only)
8. TP
9. SS
Why the hate for LBW?
For what fucking reason could you possibly rank TP that high?
Dogshit taste tbqh.
I always thought it was cool how wildly different one person's opinions on Zelda games can be from another
you can talk to one person and they say Majora's Mask is their favorite, while a whole other dude says that their favorite is Twilight Princess, and it just differs so much but just shows that they're all favorites to someone, no matter how similar or different of Zelda games they are
>ugly
>piss easy
>item shop trivializes an already easy game
>just a retreading of LttP
>portrait mechanic is boring
>lumping 2D and 3D Zelda together
OOT, MM, LA, and ALTTP are the best of that pic
TP is okay
WW is unfinished and only held up due to its artstyle
ALBW is a rehash and not worth playing over ALTTP
SS ruined the series in more ways than one
BOTW is missing too many series mainstays for it to be considered a Zelda game and is essentially a tech demo that is guarnateed usurped by its sequel
Because other people seemed really sure they were good so I tried to give them a shot. The 2D ones are all right I guess but the 3D ones are trash.
I think you're missing a few
Soul. TP has a great atmosphere and depiction of Hyrule. It's one of the only 3d Zelda games where we actully get to see Hyrule in it's prime and not in some sort of destroyed state. Literally the only other game that does this is the first third of OOT. Minda is the beat sidekick in the series and actually plays a part in the story. Speaking of story, while it's never been Zelda's strong suit, TP is easily the best story in the series. Plus great dungeon design, especially in late game. Snowpeak Ruins, Temple of Time, and City in the Sky. And arguably the best graphics in the series if we're talking about TPHD.
MM>OoT>AlttP>BotW>MC>WW>TP>LA>AoL>LoZ>SS
Oracle of Ages=Oracle of Seasons>the rest.
> ugly
Matter of taste. I thought it looked fine for what it was
> piss easy
Applies to the majority of Zelda games
> item shop trivializes an already easy game
How does the item shop affect tbe difficulty?
> just a retreading of LttP
Well yeah, it's a remake
> portrait mechanic is boring
Agree to disagree, I liked it
fair enough, I liked the 2D ones a lot too, they're quite comfy.
Came to post this. Oracles are Zelda kino
>Soul
Not an argument.
>Story
Definitely not an argument. Why in the absolute fuck are you playing Zelda games for the story?
>dungeon design
SS did this better though, and I don't even like that game. TP's dungeon design is actually garbage because it uses the exact same progression layout almost every time.
>And arguably the best graphics in the series if we're talking about TPHD.
SS, BotW and even WW have better graphics than TP.
>BOTW is missing too many series mainstays for it to be considered a Zelda game
You are part of the problem. You are the reason this series has been so stagnant for so long.
no that has more to do with Aonuma lacking any idea of what to do with the series after WW didn't do so well. I'm fine with a return to non-linearity but not at the cost of an overarching narrative and an inferior form of dungeons
Excluding SS cause I havent played it but looking at gameplays of it already makes me think it'll be far better than BotW.
TP=WW=MM>OoT>LA>Oracles>BotW
> Story not an argument
But why? It adds to the game and makes it better. Also, adds some of that aforementioned soul that you're ignoring.
> Same progression layout
I'm not really sure what you're talking about here. If you mean the fact that you get an item then use the item to complete the rest of the dungeon, every Zelda from OOT through SS did that
> BOTW better graphics than TPHD
Lol. BOTW has some of the most soulless graphics I've ever seen with constant copy-pasted assets
9. SS
8. LBW
7. BoTW
6. TP
5. LA
4. WW
3. LTTP
2. OoT
1. MM
of the ones ive played to completion
3d: mm>oot>tp>ww>ss
2d:minish cap=alttp>awakening>fsa>seasons>albw>loz1>spirit tracks>phantom hourglass>zelda 2>tri force heroes
havent played botw yet
>Not an argument
t. zoomer. And I bet you think "nostalgia goggles" is an argument?
>Story not an argument
Now you have definitely lost credibility.
>Dungeon design was good in SS
Dungeon design in SS only got better during the last few dungeons
>SS has better graphics than WW TP
Ok. Now you're trolling.
1. Majora's Mask
2. Twilight Princess
3. Triforce of the Gods
4. Dreaming Island DX
5. The Mysterious Cap
6. Ocarina of Time
7. Skyward Sword
8. Chapter of Space-Time
9. Chapter of Earth
10. Whistle of the Earth
11. The Wind Waker
12. The Hyrule Fantasy
13. Four Swords Plus
14. Link's Adventure
15. Four Swords
16. Hourglass of Dreams
I don't acknowledge any of the games made after 2012.
Majora's Mask > Ocarina of Time > Breath of the Wild > Wind Waker > Oracles > Twilight Princess > Minish Cap > Link's Awakening > Link Between Worlds > Link to the Past
Majora's Mask isn't on the same level as BotW / OoT / WW and LbW isn't the same level as TP/TLLP. Never played Skyward Sword cause no Wii Motion Plus.
Also, I really like at least TP/LTTP the colors are more of a powergap they aren't close to the top 4.
the zoomer position
Twilight Princess > Breath of the Wild > Wind Waker > Ocarina of Time > Skyward Sword > Majora's Mask, A Link to the Past > Link's Awakening >A Link Between Worlds
Botw=Oot=la=Albw>mm=tp=altp>ww=ss
This is objectively correct.
not my fault OP's list didn't include the true best Zelda game
Are people still who dislike botw the ultimate contrarians? I cannot even imagine thinking it is a “bad” game.
>no Zelda 1
shit
5. BotW
4. OoT
3. MM
2. WW
1. Okami
>TP
>ALTTP
>MM
>WW
>OOT
>SS
>LA
>BOTW
>ALBW
It takes the premise of an openworld exploration game and tries to incorporate Zelda into it, but also wants the dungeons to be done in any possible order. In the end, the game has an amazing tutorial, but the next 6 hours after that is all you'll be seeing from the rest of the game, and it's only kind of good.
>Potential Fixes:
>Make enemy camps memorable. (I'd argue that's antithetical to their existence.)
>Make dungeons unique. (They look the same, act pretty much the same, and only one has anything remotely interesting about it.)
>Make shrine unique. (Literally the Zelda version of a phone game, not to mention look identical.)
>Debuff flurries. (Too easy to pull off and either win the fight on their own or do pretty much nothing.)
>Story is virtually nonexistence, uninteresting, and really out of the way. (I can understand not wanting to be told context without wanting it, especially when it's repeated, but at least have it more easily accessible. There was Impa's tale of the past, but everything else involves mental fragments and context clue, i.e. not much to chew on if you're not an autist theorist.)
>If not the shrines, at least make unique minidungeons that act like older Zelda dungeons. (The minidungeons present only use one gimmick and are usually not difficult if prepared.)
>Make the world more worth exploring. (At best, there are a dozen interesting characters outside of towns, and the rest of the world just feels like a barren sandbox populated by enemies.
>Make bosses more unique. (All can be killed by just swinging the sword. Might be exhausted at this point, but where's the fun in that? Only one boss makes you do something outside of that, and it's very minor. If all bosses merely require the same technique, barely anything is memorable about them.)
>FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ADD DARKNUTS! (An enemy of such complexity would have made this game a lot more interesting, but all the enemies just require a well-timed dodge and a flurry rush.)
>1. The one I grew up with
>2-9. The ones I didn't grow up with
Guaranteed that 50% of the replies will just be this.
While I agree these are all flaws, I only find a few of them to actually be major i.e dungeons feeling too samey, flurries being too easy to execute, lacking enemies that encourage experimentation like Darknuts, etc.
Story wasn't great but I also didn't think it was bad, just fairly serviceable, I feel like the real problem with bosses was just that there were so few of them, enemy camps and shrines are fine(yes I like shrines, but prefer more traditional dungeons)
>My List:
>The Order I Played Them In:
>WW (6 Years)
>ALTTP (6)
>LA (7)
>OOT (7)
>TP (8)
>MM (9)
>SS (11)
>ALBW (14)
>BOTW (17)
Switch around TP and LA and I agree.
While I don't disagree, I was mostly making the point that calling this a "bad" game is not something particularly hard to do, at least compared to something like Skyward Sword. You just need to be as autistic about the things it does poorly as I do. I think it's good, but highly overrated.
2>1>the rest
Based, and truly blessed to be graced by your presence.
>trivialize
The lack of items to acquire through conventional means makes the game feel like I already have access to the entirety of the world to the point where I find no reason to even explore it.
Do we rank everything giving preference to older titles for being ground breaking? Like, you know, how A New Hope really made a mark on the cultural landscape and began an entire franchise but it's clearly just an okay movie on its own rights. Like, taken on their own and in spite of their faults, the sequels are objectively better movies the the original trilogy. Same with LoZ. BotW is clearly the superior game compared with OoT, but OoT was groundbreaking in a way that BotW isn't.
Spotted the Snoyfag.
9/10+
>A Link to the Past
>Link's Awakening
>Alundra
8/10 to 9/10
>Ocarina of Time
>A Link Between Worlds
>Okami
7/10 to 8/10
>Majora's Mask
>The Wind Waker
>Twilight Princess
>Breath of the Wild
Skyward Sword
Number 1 is the game with this [pic]
>WW
>BotW
>OoT/MM
>TP
>LttP/LbW
>SS
>LA
Yes LA is the shittiest game of the bunch
>Implying visually better means objectively better.
OT was most famous for it's characters and the story that transpired between the characters, similar to the soap opera formula it's often compared to. Without that, it would been beyond cringe and impossible to get through. The sequels lack any well-written, or even likeable, characters, and the story is completely absurd compared to the OT, which is especially important since it can't contradict or invalidate anything from previous movies. A similar thing can be said about the Zelda franchise. While I don't think OoT is the best 3D Zelda game, it's certainly much better in terms of world than BotW ever was. Sure its world was big, but so was WW, and it managed to be a bigger slog to get through than Gamecube WW, even with all the redirecting and empty space. If you want to understand what I mean outside these perspectives, compare the OT to Solo.
Well then rank them and give reasons why. Otherwise get the fuck out the thread you moron.
