Ducktales Remastered

>no gameplay changes, doesn't lower difficulty to satisfy casuals
>samepogojumpsoundeffect.nut
>soundtrack is remixed but not changed
>fixes boring parts of original game
>fully animated sprites by crew who worked on the original show, feels super kino
>fully voiced by cast from the original show
>given an actual story that would fit a ducktales episode
>collecting money actually has a purpose now and unlocks art from the game and show
>commonly less than $2 on sale, never more than $5 unless you buy it on Steam

is there a more based remaster?

It's souless.

>for soul it needs to be pixelshit

The mickey mouse illusionary castle. Ducktales remastered is mostly a lateral move, mickey mouse was an upgrade in every way.

It was apparently relisted later and there's a copy on Fanatical for $3.75, I'm just gonna buy it and support the devs. Sega deserves my schmeckles for a game like this, it looks good. Thanks for the recommend

>almost all SECRET areas were made MANDATORY to progress with a map system
What were they thinking?

Soul vs soulless zoomers can fuck off.

The fact that wayfoward went out of their way to get most of the original voice cast back including scrooge's who was in his fucking 90s to reprise their roles is more soul then was ever present in the original ducktales NES game. Not saying the NES game is devoid of it, but you have to be some extremely jaded contrarian who hates everything to think ducktales remastered was made as anything close to being "soulless".

>Brought in as much of the original cast that was still alive to reprise their roles
>The VA for Scrooge was in his goddamn 90s and still gave it his all

That is the complete opposite of Souless.

be aware pepu, is short as fuck.

2D sprites on giant 3D blocks looks fucking awful.

>"I cheated another gentile"
fuck off back to /pol/, we're trying to keep the thread comfy in here

Don't forget he was in the hospital when he was recording his lines. They also got June Foray back for Magica. RIP.
Unfortunately, also this.

Not to rain on your parade, but they're not getting shit at this point.

It kind of smooths out at 1440p but I have to agree it can feel grating in some parts

You're probably right user

that part was cool but everything else is pretty soulless, they went with a gross 2D sprites walking on 3D backgrounds approach which looks horrible, Kaufman's interpretation of the soundtrack(outside of one song) is disappointing as hell, and the sprite work at times is kind of bad(cool that it's actually animated, but they could've done better with a lot of these)

Voices in the game was never WayForward's original plan, but Disney was so supportive of the game that they themselves paid for all the VAs, including for Scrooge and Magica themselves.

oh.

>>fully voiced by cast from the original show
They really should have found sound-alikes for some of them. Scrooge sounded like he could barely breathe, since the actor is what, 90-something?

Either case, the injected story bits screwed the pacing of the game a little but other than that, was a solid handling of the original property.

>Scrooge sounded like he could barely breathe, since the actor is what, 90-something
>is
rip

As a fan of the show, I'm glad they put those scenes in. Sure it changed the pacing, but what a perfect excuse to enjoy one last run with the OG cast.

And moon theme for the credits was like a perfect sendoff. When it was over I kinda knew I wouldn't be hearing a lot of their voices again.

There's no probably, the studio was demolished a month after the game came out

>changes nothing but increases the FPS
Yes, the Xbox One Version of GTA IV is the most based remaster

This is what the new cartoon should've been like. Fuck that cheap, blocky animation and artstyle. And fuck the forced female characters. Give me Donald and Scrooge

>Scrooge sounded like he could barely breathe, since the actor is what, 90-something?
Also skipping chemo-therapy for this...

i was waiting for this

>tfw no World of Illusion remake

Too bad it's marred by WayForward's stupid fixation with cutscenes. Don't fucking interrupt me every time I get a fucking coin please, just let them talk in the background and save those cutscenes for important stuff like after boss battles.
