I barely even remember the plot to the game anymore other than becoming god's bootlicker the experience was that miserable for me. The epilogue chapter made me even angrier

I know holy dance is the meme, but I preferred running drain. Man, I should play this game again, it's the best Atlus game for sure. Not continuing the series in a similar style just shows their folly.

holy dance is a meme because the game was so badly lacking in difficulty that you kill everything with almighty damage and replenish your mp with demons or have enough to keep killing until you finish the chapter. If the game had a bit of challenge elemental spells and physical attacks would be far more important since they can do a lot more damage.

Is it a chore to get all the routes in this game? I did 3 playthrough for DeSu2 and even with the NG+ bonuses, shit felt like a chore

Amane and Naoya's route endings are exactly the same, except for your friends and the colour of your robes. That seems to be the point -- whether following or turning away from God, the earth is still ruled by you mostly out of fear of the demons you command.

Why would you try to get all the routes anyways? It just sounds tedious.

this, as a whole, the base game is a challenging experience, but if you know the trick, you can turn the end game bosses into paste effortlessly

you can also use extra savings if you want to mitigate costs, but it shouldn't be necessary
thing about DeSu is that it takes longer to break the game, DeSu 2 has many more options and they are available earlier, so its not quite as rough

The main story is pretty eh ( I started the apocalypse for the lulz/better summon our demon lord using my daughter as a sacrifice...whoops guess that was a bad idea) but everything in the middle part of the game where events change depending on how you fuck up is pretty genius.

2 is better for me too. From the music to the story to the gameplay, it generally does a better job. Triangulum introduced a good chunk of the better battle tracks (particularly Providence and Break the Record) but In The Devastated Town is the best menu theme in MegaTen.

There's literally no reason not to run both Holy Dance and Drain.

in his defense, the entire point was everyone spitballing for solutions on how to deal with the problem, he doesn't have a problem if you choose a different solution
fighting the stars themselves isn't practical, but if no one else had any other ideas, it was literally the only choice they would have
Ronaldo in general was far more chill in the Triangulum arc, I actually quite liked him, at least his character was consistent over the jumbled mess he was in the Septentrion arc

Overclocked makes Str more viable but there's no real argument that Record Breaker is much more Str friendly.

You'll usually get more use out of Holy Dance than Megadolaon in my experience, and it's a way better boss killer as well. Nothing stoping you from running all three I suppose, but you'll probably want your demons to cover healing unless you're already in NG+.
