Is Dusk worth buying now?
Is Dusk worth buying now?
Was it ever? I'd rather buy Quake if you haven't played it.
I got it yesterday and i am having a blast, the dev is also planning to add workshop support and co-op in an update.
>It's just a Quake clone xD
t. never played Dusk
But it is a Quake clone, a good one, but still. It's evidently emulating the look and feel of Quake and some other FPSes of the era. What the fuck even is your point, idiot?
That's like saying that Solitaire is a clone of Poker because they both use playing cards...
not him but it feels more like Blood
It is if you like blistered fingers from going 200mph while strafe hopping and killing crazy shit. They only downside to the game is the lack of enemy variety. There is like 7 enemies in total.
No, that's not like saying that at all, you dumb fuck.
Literally no arguments.
>Cultists
>Chainsaw cultists
>Homing cultists
>Scarecrows
>Scarecrow demons
>Goats
>Rats
>Soldiers
>Flamethrower soldiers
>Mad doctors
>Sentry turrets
>Flying totem things
> Fucked up bomb-shooting wheel ladies
>Giant floating skull-shooters
>Sword demon
>Giant mouth demon
>Probably more I’m forgetting
There’s more than 7 enemy types.
Yes, it's good timeline Blood 2. The only off putting thing is that no shareware means the first episode is actually the worst.
How long does it take to finish the game?
Oh, yeah, there’s also:
>Invisible demon
>Mini-Chompers
>Goat-dog thing with wheels
Have you even played the fucking game? It may look like quake but it doesn't feel like it in the slightest.
You could do it in one sitting probably like 8 hours if you are horrible and die a lot and search for the secrets.
>probably like 8 hours
Oh shit it's that long? I thought it was some tiny 2 hour game. I might just pick it up then, it looks very cool.
It's pretty fun just don't go into it with super high expectations. It's great for what it is.
Dusk is straight up better than Quake. At least in the level design department.
>buying games
>asking if it's worth it
if you want to give them your money then fucking do that, how the fuck are we supposed to know if you think that donation is worth it
It has multiplayer too. Depending on how much you miss quake 3 multiplayer, it could add lots of replay value.
Yes, it's great.
I think it's more the fact that the devs are only releasing small bits of the game at a time hence is it worth it now
it's worth playing, so just pirate it if you're worried about your money getting homesick
too bad it's dead
I really enjoyed this game.
It starts off start stronger, the second chapter meanders a little bit, but it picks up and goes even stronger in the third.
If anyone is worried about the second chapter, it's still fucking solid even thought I found it overall ehh.
>devs
I think it was just by one dude.
It has saturday playing nights where the servers fill up, join their discord
I've never tried it, but why would you play over Quake Live? Or Quake Champions whenever syncerror accidentally makes it good every 6 months.
>mfw the voice at the end
the absolute madlads actually did it
It was a great way to end the game. Good shit.
It was just some literally who, tho
:^)
The multiplayer maps are shit
If they put more effort into them i would actually play
Just wait till they release the SDK, they also said it would allow the same format for Quake maps so that would be huge
so is the full game out yet or is it still doing the episodic releases?
As far as i know it is done. according to they are working on MP now. The only problem is i don't think in the age of fortnite and Apex if there is really an audience for it anymore.
It's out but they plan to add these:
-Mac/Linux and DRM Free versions
-TDM, CTF and DUSKWorld content updates
-Language localizations
-The SDK + Steam Workshop Mods
-Co-Op
-MORE achievements
-New Game +
-Console Ports
