Is this a fun stand to start off with? I'm kinda bummed about its lack of personality, body, and lack of overworld interactions.

its decent. Not many combos and sometimes it'll feel like you're just mashing the same button over and over but the ability to play as literally every part 5 protagonist even wheelchair polnareff is fucking cool as hell

Cardigans is pretty good if you’re going for support, but so is Mr. Big. Caravan has a personality of his own, ACTS, and some pretty useful abilities. Deep Purple and Joykiller are good for abilities. Pharaoh Sanders is also a good one, and has a special event against Joey. Carpenters is one of my favorites for the Customize skill, one hit KO attacks, over world interactions and story events, and the Road Roller.
