A friend gifted me this game and I'm having a blast.
Why didn't you fucks tell me about it? So far It's much more fun than God of War, which got shilled to hell and back on Yea Forums, what gives?

I like Odyssey way more.
I remember seeing shill threads
Sounds like a you problem
i refuse to buy any AC game where there is no Multiplayer hunt
Odyssey was shilled for quite a while, but the only threads from Origins I saw where WE WUZ shit.
This game even got some women walking bare titted in the streets.
Shut up and visit Me
Wish I had known this had microtransactions (in a fucking SP game) before I bought it. Going to just pirate odyssey whenever I get around to wanting another big open world game
>GOW4
>Shilled on Yea Forums
if anything its was harrased by a bunch of fags looking to cash in on the ONIONS meme of the time.
you'd have a few people talking about the game and enjoying it but thats not the same as shilling.

>Good
I don't understand how the franchices stays afloat, between its garbage naratives and stale as fuck ubisoft "free roam" gameplay its almost completey devoid of character.
what are you enjoying about it OP?
Maybe because my last Asscreed was the first one back when it was released and I activelly avoided most open world shit since Skyrim.
Combat feels surprisingly more fun than I expected, the world is absolutely gorgeus and there's a shitload of stuff to do. The story so far (3 hours in) is already a step above most western shit, the goofy "taking itself too seriously" kind of fun.
It's nice to fuck around, do random quests and the like. Feels safe, but very polished.
The setting is 10/10, as someone who really likes historical stuff it does an above average job at depicting Egypt.
I think Origins was the first good AC since 4, and the first AC at all to have good combat. The older ones were only good as stealth games but Origins and Odyssey are good for both stealth and combat.
This game just made me want more historical Egypt games. I'm not a fan of ass creed but I picked it up for the setting and that shit is beautiful. The last game I played was ass creed 4 and I thought origins character gameplay was an improvement over that at least they realized those fucking tailing missions sucked and didn't put those in
AC Origins was pretty entertaining, glad you're having fun.
I didn't even notice a micro transaction menu until late in the game. Game never suggests you to buy some shit
the discovery tour was great, really nice way to learn about history,
I'm just glad I can't throw myself at a pit of enemies and just single-button counter all of them while they take turns to attack. Getting my ass handed forces me to act stealthly some more.
Because GoW is a PS4 exclusive and this place is Sonygaf, so of course that'd be shilled
It's the best AC 2bh. Better than AC Odyssey for sure. Origins is about quality, Odyssey is about quantiti.
Its literally botw but with better graphics, so a solid 8/10
Yeah, I know what ypu mean. Origins was the first time I ever felt challenged during combat in an AC game, and I really liked that. The overpowered counter button pissed me off too.
it's a good game.
It's honestly much more interesting to play than BoTW. After a while dicking around with the physics in BotW it felt underwhelming. The world was much more empty than a literal fucking desert country.
this and odyssey are fun.
all Yea Forums does is post about smash shit so you dont see many actual discussion threads about videogames. but enjoy.
>ass creed
lol
ACO runs out os steam as well pretty fast. Shame tho, they had a perfectly executed setting, an okay character, but the whole game was held back because of their sticking to the horrid ubishit generic formula.
>every time the game switched to modern time with that retarded dyke
I wish they'd just cut out the fucking modern day shit
Getting something for free and not having played a lot of the older games will have a large effect on your opinion. I really hate when poele get free shit or cheaper after updates and go “wtf were
people complaining about” as if it isn’t a changed product.
>Ever getting games at full price
And that is why you pirate you pleb
>WILL SIWA NEVER KNOW PEACE?
Probably the only AC game I want to replay some day. Aesthetics and DLCs were too fucking good. I also enjoyed new combat system.
I imagine that HUH when walking around in the camel will get pretty annoying soon.
I didn't play Origins and I really don't want to because I don't care about Ancient Roman Greek Egypt
If it was actual ancient Egypt and not Romans larping as Greeks larping as Egyptians like the Ptolemaic satrapy it is, it'd be way more interesting.
Odyssey was great though, I hope they make more games like that - namely with practically zero present day content ripping you out of history every 90 minutes
>every time the game switched to modern time with that retarded dyke
>all 3 times
It wasn't that bad my dude. I agree, though. The modern sections suck ass.
I've played Assassin's Creed Odyssey for over 150 hours on a single playthrough (which still isn't finished yet because the Atlantis dlc isn't out yet) and I cannot think of anything I'd rather do than play immortal Kassandra in different historical settings
she needs bigger boobs though
Fucking this. Why must Rome always be included in any fucking ancient setting ever? Just give me truly early stuff.
>tfw no game about Hittites since 1997
>odyssey was great though
it was fucking awful, sounds like you have not touched anything else in the series to compare it to
I played Black Flag and fucking hated it except for the ship combat
Odyssey is almost the perfect rpg except for the fucking retarded level scaling
>t. never played the game
There weren't Romans larping as Greeks larping as Egyptians, tho. There are Romans, there are Greeks, and there are Egyptians. Each society has vastly differing architecture and language.
Didn't Odyssey ditch the shields and spears from Origins?
How could a perfect RPG set in ancient greece not let you roleplay as a Hoplite?
black flag and ac3 had a pretty shitty design in having to roam to get anywhere
ezio trilogy was the high point in the series
never played ac1 because i couldnt ever find a version that didnt look like it was buggy as shit and by what ive heard the controls are pretty unresponsive at times
odyssey was a turn further into the wrong direction
i got off that initial island (thank fucking god) and it led to one of the most boring assassins creed settings i have ever set foot in. i busted my ass to try and find enjoyment in it but hot damn did they completely miss the mark with this game
Odyssey is the best Assassin's Creed game for 2 reasons
1. there's no Assassin's vs Templars story in the first place
2. there's a grand total of 15 minutes of forced present-day bullshit for a game that's about 100 hours long
The only reason to play an Ass Creed game is for the historical segments, not the gay ass conspiracy matrix bullshit yanking you out of the funzone for a grueling 50 minute walking simulator
>he fucking hated Black Flag except for the ship combat
That's literally what makes the game so much fun. That and the setting.
you can play with spears
you cant have a shield for some reason, which is definitely weird, as enemies can all use shields
I heard it was something about slowing down gameplay? I don't remember, its still dumb, the option should have been there
What kind of dumbass prefers odyssey to originis
Kys
>brazier gets lit
>phylakes shows up with the reinforcements
hey i hate the not animus sections as much as the next guy, they fucking suck and we could have just got some short clips on them instead of the low point in AC design at the time
odyssey is extremely boring in almost every approach taken. it does not matter which character you pick, the story just remains as a slow drag while you do some shitty mission for the 100th time in a slightly different location
That's stupid. Just ditch passive blocking and make the shield give you defense when equipped and you press a button to bash dudes to open them up for other attacks instead. Issue solved.
It plays like a subpar action RPG with open world elements.
It isn't an Assassin's Creed.
Subpar compared to what? I'd gladly take some recommendations.
>It isn't an Assassin's Creed.
that's why its good
same reason why odyssey sucks
Are the DLC that good? They cost twice the main game.
Anyone else unabashedly an Assassin's Creed whore?
I know we all have our guilty pleasures and such, but I enjoy every goddamn game I've played in this series (haven't played the handheld games) despite the shortcomings. The only one I was even remotely disappointed with was Unity, and that was largely because of the very obvious microtransactions and the big areas specifically designed for multiplayer that barely worked.
Still played it to completion though.
malaka
Nioh
>good
they're ok at best, but they do add like 15-20+ hours of content for each one, and more importantly, they add it in the three regions that were completely barren and devoid of quests and things to do in the base game: Makedonia, Achaia, and Messenia
only reason I bought them was because I received a PS+ gift card for Christmas and I never use playstation online shit so I thought "what the hell"
considering I didn't pay for it, I certainly got my money's worth
I just finished Origins and the DLC. I liked it although 90% of the side missions were cut and paste. I don't like how Bayek didn't get a proper send off. He didn't get any closure in the ending of the main game or in the last DLC other than he goes off assassinating some more
Shit dude, that's one of my favorites.
It was shilled plenty and the way you can tell is that we had threads up consistently for weeks filled with nothing but positive stuff and we wuz kangs-posting before outright vanishing altogether, then the same thing happened with Odyssey.
Origins has plenty of problems because it's a decent game and beautiful game world brought down by having almost no stealth mechanics like assassinations or crowd blending. You can play on easy so sneak attacks do some damage but that makes the rest of the game far to easy, and if you play on NM then assassinations only do 5% damage to targets. Instead the game expects you to clear entire castles and locations from dozens of grunts before engaging the target, which turned it into an action game more than anything and combat just get repetitive after so many hours.
This is basically Ubisoft's FIFA
I see they're as mediocre as every other AC dlc's then... It is either this game or The evil within 2.
There are assassinations in origins, and you can't crowd blend but you can hide in tall grass, in haystacks and shadows, or just run off and survey the enemies from up high. Again crowd blending and bench sitting are nice but this game didn't do away with assassinations at all. I think it had more assassination focus than Unity or Syndicate
WE
NO
Hey man Tyranny of King Washington was amazing. Too bad it was paired with trash
The modern story could have been good if they went all in on the conspiracy stuff but they piss around too much and it's just boring shit. Ass creed 2 headed in the right direction with the glyph puzzle stuff but they got rid of that stuff
youtu.be
If they had any idea what direction to take the story it could theoretically have been good but they have been fucking around for 12 years and like 15 games with literally no in-universe progression whatsoever, so who the fuck kept caring after the third game?
odyssey is better, but gow was better than literally any ass creed
WE
>people enjoying nu-god of war at all
God of War 1 and 2 were the only good games, 3 was only good for the tits and ass, 4 is a fucking disaster of Viking leddit shit
WUZ
Old GoWs were buttom mashing shitfests. I enjoy how at least they made your actions in general feel more meaningful as a whole.
I'd like it better if it wasn't for that shit camera.
