GTX 950, not really looking to upgrade at the moment since i can run anything i want to play pretty well

1080

GTX 970 because despite the 3.5gb meme it still was pretty cheap at release and I still max out everything at 1080p70fps

I’m going to be building a computer in the next month or two. $3500 budget. Already have a nice “50 4K tv.

Wat buy?

that's not a budget. Max everything 9900k/threadripper and a 2080ti.

Don't buy a thread ripper if you are a gamer, thread ripper is badass but core count isn't needed for games Intel's Superior IPC helps games more

ebay.com/itm/ASUS-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1080-TI-Turbo-11gb-Gddr5x/143209225909?epid=680577066&hash=item2157ef5eb5:g:vIcAAOSwAThcWDW9&LH_BIN=1&LH_ItemCondition=3000&frcectupt=true

Buy this for 500$ and sit comfy for the next 2 years

>have same gpu
>can't play sekiro, dmc 5 nor REmake2 without killing the visuals and even then at low fps
what the fuck do you play

Titan x pascal, was £400 a year ago.

>Already have a nice “50 4K tv.
You're gucci at this point. Research shit and build the best computer possible.

You named exactly what i played, though in my defense, i did got a heavy CPU upgrade recently so that may be the case, i used to barely hit 30 fps on Monster Hunter World before it, and after getting a Ryzen 5 2600 i have no problem reaching 60+

the only good games ever made, dwarf fortress, quake 2 and Left 4 Dead 1

>Pay $250 every year just to play PC games
This is why I play on console.

It's funny because even though you are impersonating me, i do play those from time to time, just replace Quake 2 for Doom WADS

1070 mobile

and on console you never hit 1080p 60, 1080ti from 2017 is about 164% more times more powerful than the RX470 (pretty much the xbox one's gpu) and if I'm fair and assume the PS5 has an Vega 56 equivalent (most likely) the 1080ti is still about 40% more powerful and you'll be stuck with that 400$ PS5 for at least 5 years. PC wins because you can upgrade when you need to not when the 'next gen launches", 700$ gpus are high end for a reason

the good games, nothing wrong with it, I have a 1080ti just to play 2009ass games mostly

Rtx 2080 is what i'm running right now.

If you are into good games, i heavily recommend you DUSK, i got it yesterday and i am having a blast.

A rx580 4gb
It was on a good price when I bought, the cheapest on it's range. Good enough for 1080p.

Just got my MSI RTX 2060 along with a bunch of other components. Finna 'bout to build my first gaymen computer when my case and mobo come.

Attached: 1468206271532.jpg (578x327, 31K)

I know about DUSK it's badass it's sitting on the wish list

A right forgot to speccy so i can trigger V/ my bad.

i just have a simple 1080

1070ti. Perfect for 1440p, can get 4k on certain games. I can barely tell the difference 4k and 1440p though.

2 RX 580s (or 570s I can't bother to check) that I was using to mine crypto and still do off and on. I don't have to pay metered electricity where I live now so it was basically free money off rent. They do a decent job, and I'll usually Crossfire them just for shits and giggles even though it has broken a few games

My gtx 970 I got 5 years ago for 50 bucks can still take anything

Yea was gonna nab a 1070ti but got a 2060 for 319 even free ship no tax. Replaced my second dead fury card. Powers two 1440p monitors here.

a ps4, because im not a virgin

gtx 660. i can run apex at 20 fps.

what did you do to get a 7700 in a z390 board or is the app just being retarded

AMD Radeon RX 490 8GB

Vega 56, it was the most bang for the buck where i live. Great performance especially OC'd

Women think consoles are for children fool, a computer is something you do actual work on while also being the best gaming system on the side

what do you guys with your old GPUs after you upgrade? Throw them away or..?

>that text scaling
gross

sell them on CL or eBay, or give them to friends then you get more friends with PCs, if it's something really old or sentimental put them on a shelf

Attached: Capture.png (617x442, 27K)

So I was looking for a new graphics card and while looking at 1070i's I saw that there were different distributors for it. What's the purpose of this and are there any tangential differences between the different models? Pic shown isn't all of them.

1050ti

Planning on upgrading to 12GB of RAM, upgrading my 1680x1050 monitor to a 1920x1200 monitor and getting a 1060 6GB.

I might upgrade my i3 8100, but I doubt it, it's a good CPU.

I had a GTX1660 gifted to me.
I have no idea what it's worth since I'm a brainlet when it come to computer.

Attached: 1541862094550.jpg (420x375, 99K)

I honestly couldn't tell you, as I didn't build it myself. I can show you the mobo and CPU screens though.

Attached: build2.png (1945x787, 397K)

>have 2160p screen
>functional resolution of 1080p
gross, turn off DPI scaling bro

In theory, there's very little difference in performance, if any at all. Some have better cooling than others, some make more/less noise, and some are different sizes. Just read the reviews on them.

Also, I wouldn't recommend getting a 1070ti at those prices. If you can get one for $350 or less, go for it. Otherwise get a 2060, which has has very similar performance, and sells for less.

the difference between vendors and models comes down to fan noise, cooling, overclock headroom, warranty and, to a lesser degree, quality.

also, for $500 you should probably consider getting the rtx 2070.

get a 2070 it's a bit better and cheaper

dafuq lol you have a 9700k though, makes normal sense just the Vendor who sold it did something weird

2060

Thanks for the advice/info.

Attached: 1490816169717.gif (244x156, 616K)

Yeah cause my blind ass can read this shit, if it makes you feel better it's on 250% now

Got a 2080, it's alright.
Actual good games that use RTX any day now, r-right?

naw fuck it you win, 200%

Sure, in 5 years or so.

neat, non-integer scaling always look like SHIT

1070Ti, thinking about picking up a 1440P 144Hz monitor to really take advantage of this card but 1080P 144Hz would probably be easier and more consistent on it. Kind of regret not buying a Vega 64 but next time I'll be going full AMD if their history of driver updates are anything to go by

I have a 2060. It's enough for me.

Attached: 1300126679642.png (512x323, 19K)

Is a 1070 good enough for the Valve Index? They say it is in Recommended but I'm worried about the FOV/resolution being too much.

>What does Yea Forums own?
5 RX 580's
1 RX 560
1 RX 550
Currently using 1 RX 580 8gb for gaming, three other 580's are mining and the other RX cards are sitting in my display cabinet on powered risers that were DOA. And no I don't plan on selling the cards used for mining nor do I intend to buy anymore cards for mining.

I found the sweet spot between see-able and clear at 175%

GTX 970. Can still run games on mixed medium/high settings at 1440p and 45-60fps. Good enough for me.

>What does Yea Forums own?

Currently:
2x Voodoo 2 SLi
9800GTX+
GTX460
2x GTX670 G1 2GB SLI
GTX1060 Strix 6GB
GTX1070 Strix 8GB

Quadro FX4500 512MB
Quadro 4000 2GB

Oh and 1 single 580 is sitting idle because my mobo is crap for crossfire so I can't use that one at the moment.

give them to your friends, worse case you can explain that they could die, they could build the rest of a 1080p system for like 150$

>1080/4790k

Still can play majority of games mostly maxed out at 1440. Want to get 2080ti but haven't heard anything new regarding their VRAM modules shitting themselves since the original reports came out.

1070 Founders.

Was planning on it but my friends are all console gamers. I'll put them to use for folding at home or some other useful thing.

rx580 8gb and it runs everything. I don't care about 4k or maxing AA since new games are all shit anyway, definitely not worth spending over $400 for a fucking gpu. I'll probably get something better after the release of PS5 and new Xbox.

Fun thing user, the RX580 will be for sure better than whatever they use for the PS5 or the new Xbox

had planned a 2700x with a 2080 combo, but sis had financial problems so im playin with my 2700x and a 1060 from old pc.

Hd7970ghz. I badly need to upgrade especially since I got a 4k TV now, but I don't see a gpu that will last me as long as my old one

Nah man. Next Xbox will have 2070 ti. Gonna be named RTXbox.
Screencap this

I've got a GTX 670 and an i5 4770k at the moment. I know I badly need an upgrade on the first front and I imagine the latter will need one too. I really don't want to go too over the top pricy though, I dread the thought of having to buy a new motherboard just for a CPU with more threads.
Any GPU and CPU advice?

980ti perfect for my CRT Monitor

>i5 4770k
you mean i7

my advice is if you're aiming for 1080p is to upgrade to a rx 580 or gtx 1660, it will be a huge boost over the 670. you can still keep the cpu assuming you have it overclocked, it won't bottleneck.

>RTXbox

Attached: 1462787119103.png (500x509, 338K)

More like RTX2030

How long will my RTX 2070 last me?

Ah, no I meant i5 4670k. I was thinking of getting a Vega 56 since it's pretty cheap in the UK, and well-thought of. Yae or nae?

1060 6GB

>Want to get 2080ti but haven't heard anything new regarding their VRAM modules shitting themselves
Only the first wave of founders edition had this.

Depends what you are aiming for, 4k 60 fps? 3 years or so, 60 fps at lower resolutions? at least 8 years

EVGA 1080Ti with AIO

From my experience with Ayymd, I wouldn't recommend a blower model and you may need to upgrade PSU.
Doubt a 2030 could do 4k or whatever next gen consoles are going for. They wouldn't have to settle for some cheap low end gpu since consoles are sold at loss and they make it up on the software side.

R7 370
I don't play a lot of modern games but Sekiro made me consider upgrading. Dunno if I should get myself a RX570/580 now or wait for Navi.

Wait for Navi and get a RX570/580 at a much reduced price

1080

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a blower model? As for the power supply, I think the one I have is pretty beefy. Also, given that it's not the i7, is there more risk of a bottleneck?

You can get a 580 for around $200 or around $170 for 570. 8GB on both (I'm in US, so price could be different for you).
Guess it would depend on how tight your money situation is and whether you want to get Navi at release or what a bit for drivers and shit to get ironed out.

Just built my first PC 2 months ago. For what it is, it's great and there's room for improvement down the line.

Attached: Screenshot (13).png (489x359, 26K)

I'm not completely sure about bottleneck, but I'd assume so. Wouldn't hurt to ask others though.
Blowers are the models with 1 fan that blows air out of the end of the card. Not all 1 fan models are blowers though. Fan fins or whatever they are called are in different position than normal fan.
Blowers usually run hotter and louder. AMD are already hotter and louder in general as is.

>pic related is the Vega 56 blower

On the fence between a 1660 ti a 1070 ti and a 2060. Just want to play total war three kingdoms. I also use zbrush and Im running 4 monitors.

Which cooler are you looking to get?

That TV is probably going to have insane input lag, not to mention you'd need to be sitting pretty far away from it to actually see what you're doing.
If this isn't bait you should consider investing in a smaller monitor with lower latency.

If you're only using your computer to play games, you're probably a child.

someone who runs a 18" here, yeah it's awful don't do it.

my set up now is

>32GB Ripjaw RAM
>EVGA GTX 970

Attached: Screenshot_20190412-183137_Newegg.jpg (1080x2220, 468K)

At that price you can get a 1080 TI FTW3 used, don't buy a 2060 shit fucking blows assholes for the price.

I dont usually overclock so I dont use liquid cooling but I have a Cooler Master heat sink 212 EVO 120mm fan

i'm building a amd cpu, is a 1660ti a good idea or should i look for a video card specifically made for amd pc?

I just bought a Vega 56 but it's an Msi one. I sure hope it's not too hot because I can't be assed to spend money on water cooling right now and i'll be relying entirely on case fans for a while.

Attached: 1552755883943.jpg (868x868, 131K)

1070ti would be cost inefficient, 2060 is roughly the same performance and cheaper.

1660ti is about the same as a 1070, this one really depends on the price, I wouldn't pay more than 250.

I ran a GTX 970 on my AMD 6300. It was ok, it bottlenecks though. It was seamless once I switched to Intel.

Blower type are louder and run on average 6-7c hotter than the open/dual fan design. They may underclock/throttle to keep the temperate in check too.

Since its a closed shell, any case fans won't make a big difference but with a blower all the hot air goes directly outside the case so nothing stays inside the case.

sup

Attached: file.png (658x516, 67K)

Sure, a ryzen 2600 should be good enough for it.

is it better to just go intel then? prices are around the same

Ryzen CPU's work just fine with Nvidia, I run a R5 1600 /w 1060 and no problems.

With a 1660ti a R5 2600 or 2600x should be ideal. (or 3600/3600x if you want to wait for those coming out in July onwards)

that's the processor i'm looking at, so there should be no issues?

1070 8gb

I dunno if I want to get a new card yet. There isnt really and good games to play it with.

Well I was told to undervolt it anyways so that'll help a bit. I'm pretty sure buying this thing was a bit overkill anyways but it was at an ok price compared to the usual GPU prices where I live. Noise doesn't bother me so I'll just hope I don't face any real problems stemming from temps.

RX cards are cheaper than ever before here so I might just pull the trigger when I have the money. There is some panic about crypto gaining influence again here so that might affect things by the time Navi comes out.The only game I'm waiting for now is Bannerlord so there's gonna be 5nm cards out by that time I bet.

1060 6gb but my thermals are shit and my friends with roughly the same build get better performance freedom because their cases offer better thermal solutions. Moral of the story is don't cheap out on the case

you did this just to save your feelings while reading these thread didn't you? it's okay, you're welcome now.

lets embrace each other in our computer browsing builds.

just got a 2080 ftw3

>buying low end Nvidia

1050ti 4gb

Want to get a 1660ti but I just can't justify paying near 300 bucks for one.

If by "real problems" you only mean shorter life or card just dying, or blowing up or whatever. It'll be fine. My old r9 290x blower would get to 94c while gaming(and almost 90c from watching a youtube video). Lasted years like that. Still worked when I upgraded it a month ago.
If you want low temps then a custom fan curve should keep them low, especially since noise doesn't bother you. I wouldn't worry about constantly fast fans dying either, kept my r9 fans high constantly to keep temps low the first few years I had it.

>Want to get a 1660ti but I just can't justify paying near 300 bucks for one.

I know this feel. I really feel the 1660 is kinda overpriced for being an emergency panic move by Nvidia since the rtx cards weren't selling.

Any word on if they are doing a 1650?

R9 390 8GB

Got it for like $300 before the mining craze. It's still plenty adequate for anything at 1080p, but I plan on upgrading when Cyberpunk 2077 comes out.

msi 1080 gtx 8gb gamer x edition - bumped the overclock up just a tad more than what it comes at with afterburner

1650 has all the same rumors and leaks like the 1660 and ti did. So it's safe to assume.

2070. Overpriced but I wanted to upgrade, I had the cash to burn, and its working great so I don't have a lot of complaints.

This is pretty good to know, I haven't even finished this build here but it'll be my first time handling a proper gaming set up so that'll be fun. I got the 56 and am planning on getting a 2600x because they already seemed like they were plenty good to cover my current needs and then some, and there's nothing on the foreseeable future that I'm planning on getting asides from Bannerlord and maybe Xcom 3 when it gets announced. But by the time either of those games arrives I'll probably have changed a few things here or there on the build because learning about this stuff ended up being as fun if not more than actually playing vidya.

Attached: 1555006847979.jpg (575x600, 53K)

>Any word on if they are doing a 1650?

Box photos have leaked for base 1650s. Supposedly, they are hitting around the 22 this month

The ti version will probably be shortly after. Like the 750ti and 1050ti they will be able to work without external power.

Around $350. It’s a good card and just came out

Ryzen 2200g
Corsair 2 x 8gb 2666hz ram
Gtx 1660

Runs all modern games at 1080p ultra settings just fine. Next buy is gonna be a 144hz 24" monitor.

Gigabyte 1080. I like my build a lot actually. I probably won't upgrade for another 4 years.

Our grandchildren's grandchildren will be dead and gone by the time Bannerlord releases

I have a 6600k and a GTX760. Going to upgrade the card shortly but between 1660ti and 2060

RX 470. I really feel tempted to get an RTX 2060 or a 1660ti, but I still want to see how the Navis are if they ever come out, plus it still does fine for 1080p gaming even if it sounds like a plane taking off.

>Next buy is gonna be a 144hz 24" monitor.
I'm building a PC right now and choosing a monitor and today I told some friends I was going to get a LG 24GM79G-B they did very smug anime girl faces while scoffing at the "LG" part. My alternatives are Viewsonic XG2401 and AOC G2590FX but these are both around 30 to 40 more where I live and I'm poor. I didn't expect to have trouble picking monitors but everyone is so fucking opinionated on monitors in a way that puts amd vs nvidia shit to shame

Fuck em

running two 2080ti, but shit gets hot, can't wait to replace those with something better

you're friends are retarded, if they aren't actively giving you advice they're just forcing their own opinions of things on you and likely have no idea what they're talking about.

do your research and buy what you need, also make sure to shop around second hand deals to save money.

>you're friends are retarded
ah fuck i'm retarded, your*

Verdict on buying a Second Hand GPU? Found a 980 at a 200~ price tag

One of them is kinda cute to be honest

The cute one named the alternatives and another of my friends let me try out his set up because I wanted to know just how relevant a "G2G 5ms" delay could be so that was cool of him. I was under the assumption that LG was a good brand as far as screens/panels go so I was pretty confident in my pick before talking to people. Most of the elitism I've dealt with comes from the internet though, it's borderline impossible to discuss how good a screen is sometimes because people have no understanding of the limitations some people have. I just want to play some vidya and maybe later use this as a second monitor when I upgrade, I'm a talentless hack so it's not like I'll use my PC for image related work. The monitors I listed all seem pretty comparable so I'll do some extra research just to be sure. I prefer avoiding buying second hand when it comes to electronics and machinery.

>/g/ told me to wait for Navi
>couldn't wait and got a 2060 instead

Maybe my card will be outdated but I'm finally having fun with video games again.

>guy i know consistently insists that I should wait for new RAM and Ryzen series
>I'm on 1080p so anything remotely recent will do just fine for several years
Waiting for new hardware is a meme unless you want to do some heavy duty shit

Have a 980 that was doing okay until I upgraded to 1440p/144hz. Now it's getting absolutely slaughtered

I would, I really tried to be an AMD guy but after getting my I7 I cant ever go back.

Okay lads, this is my set-up. Pls help.

Get a new video card, a SSD and another ram stick.

Well it’s not exactly a meme around the next Console gen. It’s why I’m hesitant to buy a current card because the next shit will be announced this E3

I thought I had an SSD, not entirely sure what's going on there. RAM yeah I'll get on that, same with the GPU. What about the CPU though?

1080ti, I like it.

Every new video game will be shit and Butterlord will never be released, we're safe bro

I have a gtx 1060 3gb, but I'm thinking of getting a 1660 ti in a couple of years or whenever, Is it worth getting Yea Forums?

CPU is still ok, it’s right around recommended for the graphically intensive games.

>I thought I had an SSD
It is. I just saw the 2tb of storage and assumed it to be a HDD. Sorry.
>What about the CPU though?
Unless you can get an i7, you would have to upgrade your mobo and ram. Not to mention your CPU is still good for games.

That's good to hear. I'm a bit worried about the threading issue though. If it turns out that the need for more than 4 threads becomes too much of an issue, do you think I could get a new CPU without needing a new board, or am I screwed?

RTX 2080

How big of a bottleneck would the CPU be if I have a 4690k and am considering getting a 2080? Should still be ok for a while longer, right?

rtx 2070. I should've just bought a 2060 and then oc'd it.

Yep you will be fine until the next gen releases

that's a pretty damn big bottleneck. i'd go ryzen 5 2600x or i5 8600k minimum. preferably an i7 or ryzen 7

Huh. Okay then, I'll hold on the CPU for now. Any recs for a CPU? I'm thinking changing to a Vega 56 for reasons of price, though the fact that the free games deal is over sours the deal a little.

But what about L4D2?

My first build I did fully on my own. I am proud of it.
