Do you get off on watching cute girls die in gory ways? Then this game is perfect for you!

never let your friends butter up their poopers alone.

The first game is. The series as a whole not so much

yeah its pretty enjoyable if you like horror but the third game is weak. It does do horror pretty damn well though.

I only liked the first one, the rest of the series gets retarded.

This is one of my fav bad endings and shows quite well the overal atmosphere of the game

is the PSP version worth playing?

It's the one i played and didn't had any trouble with it

I pirated the GOG version and played it for a few hours. The visual novel parts are your standard anime fare, mostly just fluff and tropes and there's 9 (maybe more) characters who all look the same and you won't remember their names. And then the actual gameplay consists of walking across many school floors in search of story triggers. You find an item, but you've no idea where's that single tile you're supposed to use it on so you run around the whole school like a headless chicken. Rinse and repeat. Also butt jokes. Not sure if beatable/enjoyable without a guide. It's a 1996 game for Christ's sake, can't expect any QoL here.

Wish it was a proper visual novel instead of an RPG Maker game. Maybe I would actually enjoy it.

The sequel Book of Shadows is a Visual Novel, but it sucks ass imo because it hardly has any visuals at all, 70% of the game is staring at an empty background with the characters text box at the bottom, you don't even get characters sprites

The 3DS version is the definitive edition, it includes both the licensed professional assets from the PSP release and also all the story chapters/scenes from the 2016/Steam release.

>inb4 I don't have a 3DS
Citra

No, Japanese writing is terrible and this is no exception
>hey we lost all of our friends in this deadly ghost school and we need to somehow find them
>let's split up!

It's meh, if you have nothing better to do, then give it a try. The soundtrack is fire though, love listening to it.

Do you like it when little girls are in extreme discomfort?

Only the first game. Pretty atmospheric and the music is great.

Only the first game is worth. BoS is ok, some good stories, some really shitty stories, but avoid BD. That game is fucking awful

so literally any horror anything ever, right

I got memed by Yea Forums into playing the first one, don't it's shit. Interesting story but severely held back by the rpg maker style.

These anons got it right. The 1st game is easily the best. 2nd game is OK if you really like the bad ends from the 1st game. 3rd game is the worst thing to ever exist and should be avoided at all costs.

Blood Covered is genuinely great. But what you play it on matters. PSP or 3ds are good but the steam version is shit. The game is genuinely disturbing and the end of chapter 4 still haunts me. Just be prepared to read and look up walkthroughs.
Id say its worth it.

There are far more western horror stories with that trope than japanese ones

It's like Higurashi but terrible.

Also the """gameplay""" only holds it back, so might as well just YT the whole thing.

I'm so hungry, I could eat a school.

i really liked the game, gore and anime faggotry aside, the game maneges to create an oppressive atmosphere just using sprites and story telling, that's quite impressive

First game is genuinely interesting, second is passable if you're really interested, third one is pure shit.

More like don't give into the darkness while your friend is off buttering their pooper alone.

I liked it. The descriptive horror is point on.

Descriptive horror is a result of a lack of visual creativity.

Threadly reminder that Ayumi did literally nothing wrong.
