Went back to Transformers again last night after a month straight of DMC5. Game is still so damn good, although I don't remember the cutscenes looking as they rough as they do at certain angles; the cel shading just stops working sometimes. Otherwise, still worth being on the 3x3.

Can I take it you like atmospheric games? I'd definitely reccomend Symphony of the Night and Order of Ecclesia if you haven't played them if that's the case, perhaps Risk of Rain too since that's pretty good as well even if it's not as good as those two, I do absolutely love the final level in that game though. Though the second game did just come out, so I dunno, maybe you'd wanna look into that. I've not played it.

DP are pretty far down though. RGB being a complete mess and XY being utter bores gatekeep it from being the worst but it's dreadfully slow, has a region that is just bland at times, and a mostly weak set of new Pokemon with horrible distribution. Platinum made a HUGE leap but it's not Top 3 because of some of the issues that are inherent to Sinnoh. Could be bias talking a little here but I still think it goes B2W2, HGSS, Emerald.

I wouldn't call Sinnoh a bland region, it's one of my favourites along with Hoenn, but that might be because I know it the best, so take that as you will. I never played past the E4 in Platinum so I never played the stuff people love it for, and it's been too long for me to remember how slow they apparently were but I'll trust people on that. Emerald is absolutely top tier, no arguments here from me, never played much of BW2 so I can't speak, and I don't really have an opinion on HGSS for whatever reason. I'm not gonna say DP is quite top tier, but definitely in the top half and nowhere near worst.
No clue, my MM experience is severely lacking. I know they both have some sort of scoring system, Gunvolt's stage structure is pretty much MMX's, combat is zapping stuff moreso than shooting them obviously, there's missions to do and gear to craft if you wanna play around with that, and you get skills as you level up from killing stuff that give you healing and huge damage / AoE. That's the best I can do at answering that question.

Personally 2/3/5 are the peak generations but I do think the parts of Sinnoh (and the plot in Gen 4) that work work very well. I can't really say DP is in my Top Half when RSE, GSC, BW, B2W2, HGSS, and Yellow (mostly nostalgia there) exist. I can't say anything about ORAS, Gen VII or Let's Go but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that DP is better than them.
Thanks for the Gunvolt answer also. Doesn't seem like my game then. I much prefer MMZ to MMX and the rating system is one of Zero's weakest aspects.

I'll probably play BW2 properly one day, so maybe I'd like that more. DP is 100% better than ORAS, barely played Moon and not played Let's Go though, but I would put it above BW personally.

I don't know about Zero, but I think all score does in GV is improve your rank on that stage and give you more chances for items at the end of the stage, but you can also find stuff in stages to get extra items too (there's like a grid at the end of the stage and you pick X number of them and you get what's behind that panel).
And, for what it's worth: I don't really like MMX, granted I only got to Sigma 1 but I have no real desire to go back and finish it. I just said X specifically because they both have an intro stage and the refights are spread out a bit rather than all being in one stage.

B2W2 just hits a lot of sweetspots, although it's also the only true sequel in the series so having some knowledge of BW1 is important; what the player does in those games is referenced and informs the state of Team Plasma. I also think the Pokemon spread is great, the sprites in battle are fantastic, and the side content/postgame (via additional difficulties) are all great fun. I did a run of nothing but Fighting and Bug types (best types) and had plenty of great options, and even then I almost broke that rule to get a Golurk.

Simple, been playing since gen1 and for me gen 6/7 are the best (pokémon/region/anime wise), I also love gen 3, RSE were awesome but ORAS sucked hard.

Hmmm i'd say just jump in, it's honestly pretty accessible.
I guess one noob trap you should avoid is building tons of elemental weapons at the start, some of them can be good but it's not really worth the time investment until you can make a proper build around them.
Oh and do as many optional quests as you can, they all unlock useful stuff.
