According to Itsuno, Capcom Execs were completely fine with either DMC5 or DD2 and he figured DMC fans had waited long enough. If Reuben's recent interview is correct though, then Capcom begged Itsuno to stay after he threatened to walk around DmC's release, and he got DMC5 out of that; I would assume that if Capcom wants Itsuno that bad then DD2 is very likely.
Also, Itsuno has recently tweeted a photo of him, the DMC5 team and "new project team" eating out together. Itsuno's said his main 2 dream projects are DD2 and Rival Schools 3, and with the MonHun guy in charge of Division 2 (probably to helm SF6) it's not likely that they'll turn to Itsuno for a fighting game right now. PLUS there's the Netflix Dargon's Dogma show coming. I'd give DD2's chances of existing a solid 85% at the moment.
