i really liked the d3 shotgun, very clanky metal sound and loading shells was fast, sucked at anything past 10 feet but it's a vidya shotgun so it works. also plenty of shells everywhere.
any fallout 4 gun
Terrible, but something about weapon upgrades in that game just felt right.
most of HL2's guns were pitiful
What's wrong with it? I like the aesthetic.
>looks ugly
>sounds ugly
>does no damage
The ultimate shit weapon.
KLOBB
what's so bad about the usp?
mostly the way it sounds
unreliable
fucking useless gun
Why are you posting a cosplay prop instead of the game model?
UNRELIABLE? TIGHT TOLERANCES? NOT A SOLDIERS GUN?
It's a starting weapon. It's not supposed to be a kick down the door gun. That's what made getting the .357 so enjoyable.
Explain why this wouldn't work.
if it wasn't for the filename, I would have thought its from Metro
>t. fun-hating faggot
It's ugly but shotgun faggots git fukked all day.
>
The .357 was also trash.
The fucking kids in this thread. Isn't spring break over for you all?
Feast your eyes on true sorrow.
is this hardline?
yo how many barrels you need pham?
The HL1 pistol feels fine though
Best weapon in the game. Even better with sound.
ITS KLOBBERIN TIME
TWO
KLOBBS
I CAN HEAL HIM TWICE AS FAST
/thread
>Not klobbering people in multiplayer.
You'd get fucked, grandpa.
They cylinder is closed around the cartridge.
Better watch your fuckin mouth before I klobber you
I wish Bungie could code even something remotely like that. It's just an auto-rifle with 4 barrels.
>it's bad on purpose!
this is premium bait
>being this pedantic
>hating on the .357
It's the only gun that I know of in video games that can make an enemy do fucking cartwheels if you shoot them in the head.
you can add almost every gun from borderlands
The revolving cylinder wouldn't work unless that's just a facade hiding the actual cylinder inside which is open. The little yellow chute at the top of the extended mag could be an ejection port for spent rounds but I don't see room for a mechanism which could eject the casings instead of just having them rotate and take up space on the cylinder.
Basically compare it to the Dardick's mechanism and you'll see why.
every gun from Anthem
I could see Razer actually making a "gun" like that 2bh, or madcatz
well lol just open it up
Why are the geth so shit at making weapons?
UN FUCKING RELLIABLE LADIES AND GENTS
Then the casing ruptures and squibs the bullet.
This piece of shit
>can't even aim down sight
That unironically looks like a Nerf gun
They don't have souls.
>callofduty1129
>magazine
>trigger
>ejection port
>barrel
>sight
>backup iron sight
>rails
>probably a gas system hidden in the chunky ass furniture
It looks like it was made by someone who understands how guns work at least, ignoring the tarps and scifi greeble shit.
Every automatic shotgun in every shooter I've ever played. They always feel like I'm not shooting anything at all and shells are just spilling out of my pockets regardless of how much damage it deals. And they always waste ammo like crazy.
The only exception to that rule was when I turned my Mauler in MWO in (barely) walking 95 tons four-barreled automatic shotgun.
Also double-barrel shotguns that shoot one shell at a time. It's fucking gay. Warframe's press-shoot-release-shoot on Tigris is pretty good tho.
Idiot
What is the point of any of this stuff? The barrel looks insanely tiny so the bullets can't be large enough to justify a stock that huge. It's not a railgun is it? Wtf is with all the random bits of metal pipes or whatever too. What the fuck man
literally nothing wrong with it.
H-here I go!
>always thought the trigger part of the webm is that its ejection port is left-side despite being right-handed.
>years later noticed the ammo count
I remember playing Payday 2 and being so disappointed with the AA12. It should be mowing down everything in its path but you're better off with the fucking sidearm shotguns
Most fantasy guns look like nerf guns. Hell most fantasy weapons in general look like toys, most of these limp dick artists have never seen let alone handled a real weapon in their life so they think that the average person is totally down with carrying around a footlong pistol with 10 pounds of weight hanging off the barrel
is kojimbo the truest /k/ poster in vidya?
Then how does it work in the game then, retard?
That is so fucking funny.
>shells have to travel backwards to hit firing pin and eject
Game balance is a bitch my man, if you want an auto shotgun that feels like an unstoppable jackhammer fuck you machine play KF1 for the AA12.
The quarians are even worse
This gun looks like shit and feels like shit to shoot.
Any Halo weapon
No, because Sawyer exists.he and his team had to actually study and fire weapons in order to make them realistically function in F:NV. It's why there's a huge difference between NV and 4
the entirety of HL2
Hmm...
I see you have NO rebuttal...
Enjoy your bitterness, babycakes
It's a fucking .22 long rifle what the fuck do you expect
why is the optic on the slide?
>carrying around a footlong pistol with 10 pounds of weight hanging off the barrel
I don't think that matters too much when most of these games also feature you wearing suits that give you superhuman strength. Borderlands is probably the worst in that regards though.
t. someone who doesn't know how a gun works
the left bolts are the least stupid thing Bethesda has done with ballistic weapons
I genuinely cannot tell which end is the barrel holy fuck
it shoots paper pellets
garbage, just like the game
>hand just clips through the spokes during reload
>spokes just clip through the magazine during reload
>that fucking barrel setup
>that bayonet placement
oh no no no no no no
The only reason it exists is so you have a gun in casinos and real raw motherfuckers use melee in them anyway
worst gun in any videogame
Aiming reticle linked to the HUD on marine's helmets.
Pic related was pretty good. The rest of ME weapons are complete dogshit indeed.
When I was a little kid my dad got me a BB gun. Literally, a Red Ryder BB gun. Needless to say, not exactly powerful.
So one day I'm running around in the woods outside our house, shooting and trees and rocks and shit. I shoot at this giant-ass oak tree maybe 15 feet away and sure enough, the BB ricochets off it, comes back, and pops me right in the eyebrow. Being a little kid it was like an inch, if that, from taking out my eye like in that Christmas movie.
The mild sting I felt from that incident was like an eternity of excruciating hellfire compared to the harmless scratches you'd get from this low-polygon piece of shit.
>with appologies to a one Mr. Ken Lobb
Is that the gun from new vegas? the machine gun version of it is pretty shit but is actually quite satisfying imo, lovely fire rate and sounds
Aa12 in army of 2 40th day is pretty good
Funny thing is it's the same in Fallout 76, but the new pump reloads shells individually. They just copied the weapon without bothering to upgrade it's animations to a new standard. Really pathetic for a AAA dev.
Fuck you
The auto shotty in CSS is almost a direct downgrade from the regular shotgun. The AA12 was pretty great in MW2 though.
Hey I have massive respect for Joshua Sawyer too. But BB literally jizzes himself over his guns.
Thank god I deleted this shit game
There's a theory that Fallout and the Elder Scrolls share the same universe.
So that explains this phenomenon quite well; magic receiver.
I know, but Kojimbo only learned firearms through police information and movies. He barely fired one
>magazine size of 17
Every time there's a new fucking retarded thing to find
It can be decent if you have a high luck, high guns, high sneak build for it and use the right bullet type at the right time. also with some damage mods and jsawyer as well as weapon mods expanded
I used to hate the .22, but that was before I embraced it.
The M1014 in Counter-Strikes is very solid with practice.
>barrels are placed entirely below the firing mechanism and feed ramp
Man I understand that it's light sci-fi and all but come on. Unless it's an energy weapon with a battery pack, a gun pretty much has to load a bullet into the tube it shoots out of. Why do so many sci-fi games get it wrong but still insist on it being a physical projectile?
Yeah but quarian and geth guns are op as shit, only N7 weapons and specter gear come close
Every Borderlands weapon
the reload is awful, but as far as feel it's actually one of the more tolerable guns in 4
>New Vegas: Lever guns have an animation system where you can load individual bullets at a time, even fire mid-reload
>Fallout 4: One reload animation of putting in five rounds regardless of ammunition count
Wait
Which end shoots
welcome to Pandora kiddos
PPSH-43, heck of a shotgun
fuck you
That's because of game balance.
youtu.be
fuck you
you don't know how long the firing pin is
>hating on the Mozambique
how do i know you're an Apex nigger?
any source engine gun
Yes.
Now: LEAVE US ALONE!
Fan theories don't mean jack shit nor excuse just bad weapon design
You have shit taste, both were good guns
So I guess that makes him more /k/ then
>Autismally detailed gun wank one minute
>Davey Crocket out the helicopter being hilariously underpowered, Five Five Sixers and Pineapples, tommygun made of bees the next
>bayonet's position
>honda civic rim mag
>feeding and mechanism unrelistically separated from the rotative tri-barrel
NOTHING about this gun makes sense
>left bolts are the least stupid thing Bethesda has done with ballistic weapons
What's wrong with having the bolts on the left?
>fiction
The Mozambique in TF2 is great. He's probably talking about the Mozambique in Apex, which is a truly embarrassing piece of shit.
Have you never played L4D2? The auto shotties in that game are crowd destroyers. You don't even need to know where to shoot in order to crown a witch with those fuckers, you just hold R-M and keep walking like nothing even fucking happened.
[loud gunfire]
starved of ammo
So for this gun to work, the firing pin has to extend down the length of the barrel, hit the shell, and either stab through or use fucking magnets to pull the shell back to the ejector port
Literally what’s wrong with a tommy gun made of bees?
why make it a spas if it works nothing like a spas
Damn, that is nice
MGS4's Saiga wants to speak with you
*shoots second shell from magazine tube*
L-M* give a a bit of leniency, It's Friday and I'm a ronrey drunk off work.
The pistol in the first HL stays viable throughout the whole game, whereas the pistol in 2 is immediately terrible.
because spas IRL is actually shit
i.e not impossible.
>yfw irl Bethesda guns
>mag fed, clip reloadable, revolver with triangle bullets
>Funny thing is it's the same in Fallout 76
They fixed it
yeah it's a blow forward system. the whole barrel assembly moves while the pin is static at the very back of the housing near the trigger.
Very fucking impossible. You'd have to redesign a shotgun shell to make that work.
MW2 AA12 was literally a bullet storm
>The AA12 was pretty great in MW2 though.
I forgot, could you akimbo those? If so, the PC must be nearly as strong as Doomguy, those things are fucking massive
So don't fucking make it look like a spas
t. apex faggot
what the fuck
Or use recoil to throw the shell back. Gas pressure can be used to do fun stuff, look up the fn2000. It throws its empties directly forward. You could get shot in the gut, fall to your knees in pain then get nailed in the eye by the very brass that just fired the round that hit you
if you could commit suicide with a videogame gun what would it be?
More games need wacky shit like this in them.
>Game balancing? Progression? What are those!?
You're just be cynical.
Brighten up, sunshine!
At least the sound effect is alright
Do you see enough room for a retractable/spring loaded firing pin on that bad boy
Gauss Rifle
That way I don't feel anything
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I fucking hated this thing
Fuck Todd.
Golden Gun, no chance of it leaving me a brain dead vegetable since it kills in one shot every time
The pistol in 2 stays great for plinking at headcrabs/manhacks/barnacles.
Don't get me wrong the vanilla sound and reload is shit which is why I always skin it but because it uses its own ammo it does stay useful.
no siree
No, you could akimbo the sawed off, and the lever action which was completely broken for a while, also aa12 isn’t too heavy
BFG : quick and painless
Picture for ants, yadda yadda
FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU
That's just a lazy answer.
Me and everyone in this thread hate YOU...!
Everyone, laugh at this imbecile!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
The aa12 was op in most of the cods
Goddamn it Google images. Fuck you and your thumbnail shit
But HL1's pistol feels like utter shit to use, so it evens out.
It has one of the worst sights in the game
Its only appeal is "I CLAPPED BECAUSE I KNOW BLADE RUNNER"
So there's a sleeve that wraps around the bullet and charges it back to strike the firing pin instead of the pin striking the bullet? Why is the ejection port there if the bolt has nowhere to go unless it operates like a bastardized Rem1100 and is jointed half way down to accommodate for that sharp angle to make it into the stock? Why doesn't the barrel move in game thereby ruling out it being recoil operated?
Half Life 2 doesn't have a satisfying gun aside from maybe the Magnum and the Crossbow, IE, weapons with fairly limited ammo supply.
Pulse Rifle probably comes as close at any gun does to both satisfying and well supplied but it still comes up a little short in both respects imo.
just move the magazine back to the underneath the ejection port and it'd be good
>water cooled ar
>barrel is detachable like air cooled
>only loads from low capacity mags
What the fuck were they thinking
This is why I get mods for my guns.
i kind of want one
it's a close range weapon, it doesn't need much more than the bead sight
it's also one of the only handguns in the game that can take armor-piercing ammo and extremely early in the game, at that.
>balance
>single player game
Good guns are still good, they don't need bad guns to be compared to. That's just lazy
It IS though. If you make the starting gun too good you end up with the Dead Space problem where the Plasma Cutter completely outclasses everything else you pick up for the rest of the game and none of it means anything to you. The early guns have to suck a little bit so getting new guns is an exciting prospect. Please don't ever design a video game, retard.
Heres your Fallout 4 Pipe Guns bro
doesn't this also turn into a carbine or something?
Little too late, don't you think, Todd?
You can tune a gun, but can't tuna fish
KF 1 and 2 are the only games that do the AA12 justice.
>get the mod that lets you reload it like a normal human being
>oh god it feels great
For all the neat shit FC2 did, this is really inexcusable.
fallout weapons are made from scraps of other weapons. not everything you see there operates as it would on the original weapon.
Loved this gun. The silenced .22 has a critical hit bonus that does an obscene amount of damage when sneaking.
I remember sneaking into Legion and NCR camps in the middle of the night and one shotting everybody with that thing.
so how does the FO3 combat shotgun work then
leaked taurus prototypes
this shit, its horrible. if you are trying to find a gun in halo, you NEVER pick this
irl the ruger mk is a pretty fun plinker
single barrel shotgun is far better than two barrel on doom
come at me one at a time
It was designed for close assault and used in Anchorage. So it was a gov't contract pre war.
overly-complicated mechanism where the gun feeds from the drum into a tube into the chamber
it would explain why it has such a slow firerate for a semi auto
What the fuck
is that a fucking revolver barrel in there too?
no
It just works
>play halo on legendary
>really don't like using this ugly, gimmicky thing
>immediately eat shit for not just giving in and using the instant shield buster over the automatics that take a full mag to bust a single brute
i don't want to drop the suppressed smg odst, it's cool ok
Or, if you’re actually good at game design, you can make weapons that are good through the whole game. New guns should be sidegrades, not straight upgrades, otherwise what’s the point.
>EMPs vehicles
>Gives you a kill so fast when combined with a headshot weapon that the community tries to stop it by shaming people who use it
PAH PAH PAH
If you overcharge and then finish your opponent off with a melee bash, it's pretty good.
Why bother using any other gun if the starting one was good enough for the entire game?
It's like in Halo 1 where the handgun was godly due to an error they forgot to correct. There was no point in using any other gun because it was so good.
>Hating on G36
literally the sexiest NATO gun to exist.
Unless your playing legendary, then it's the best anti elite weapon.
Not even him Todd
I really want to know the story behind it. There's a lot of weird oversights like the Dart Gun having a magazine for no apparent reason.
Yes, why not?
dude if you are playing on legendary all you need to do is, use needler and and plasma rifle. needler mega OP in halo 2 cause you can duel wield it.
>how to spot a noob
It was good in CE though. Better than the plasma rifle that ate through their batteries too fast.
"fun" sounds like a good reason to use gear that is not the best
>Every automatic shotg-
Saiga-12
Hey buddy, the G36 is a beautiful lady.
It doesn't.
The mechanism doesn't exist, if you take an empty combat shotgun and load it, there is nothing that causes the shell to travel to where it needs to be. The shells are in the drum when loaded, and then when fired magically end up behind the barrel. If it had a pump or something that would make sense, or if you loaded one normally then the rest in the drum it would imply a system where the next shell is loaded after the previous is fired, but from how it is in game it ends up like pic related.
Whaaaaaat. D3’s shotgun was amazing. About the only good weapon in the game aside from the plasma rifle which was only amazing because of the pure ASMR pleasure the reloading sound effect induced.
Ironically this is one of the best answers. It's so shitty the shotgun renders it a strict last-resort weapon for the first couple levels at most and then the chaingun renders it literally obsolete for the rest of the game.
>F3 assault rifle is based on CETME/G3 which is both a practical system and fits the 50's aesthetic
>F4 "assault rifle" is a humongous light machinegun that uses a cooling shroud that was dropped after the 1910s and uses laughably undersized box magazines which prevents it from even being a decent LMG let alone a fucking assault rifle
i like the suppressed SMG and automag in ODST so much that i don't want to give either of them up and i always end up eating dirt for it
the automag is actually an amazing gun but the SMG is basically just a marginally better assault rifle in that
>this week on "bait or brainlet"
>AK's retarded brother
far cry 2 was great in that regard
everytime someone posts SotE screenshots my faith in Yea Forums goes up
Zodiac from Rachet & Clank 2
Aren't most lever actions loaded from the bottom? What the fuck is this?
>the only good weapon in the game
that's kind of why it sucks, it's a very generic, ugly shotgun that you're constantly using because it's so efficient.
doom 3 base game was 90% sprinting into the imp that just jumped out of the closet and tried to spook you and blowing it away in one shot because the game isn't really that good at being scary
AK47 bullpup conversion kit.
I can't even...
Give an example.
DID YOU GET ALL THAT KING KAI?
Loading gate on the side like the video, except on the other side. Or the tube at the bottom near the muzzle.
Glad we think alike user
It's useless from the first fucking room both in 1 (not completely if you're unlucky or just bad at vidya) AND 2
This apeared to me fairly recently actually, played blood for the 1st time and realised how fucking powerfull the flare gun was
AK47 laser conversion kit.
There's no way the gas ejection system could push a round that far unless the whole internal system was greased to hell and back.
Resistance: Fall of Man
not that guy though
Fuck that boss fight tho. 12 year old me got my vidya privileges revoked countless times because of the rage that level induced.
>hate on the klobb
nigga i will freakin end you
bunker klobb no items
It's not just the ammo count. Notice what he does after he loads all five shells.
the fo4 assault rifle was supposed to be an LMG, the assault rifle concept art is just an AK.
They just decided to laze out and make them serve the same functionality with the customization.
Nice boat user, must be nice taking it out in this weather
>Why bother using any other gun if the starting one was good enough for the entire game?
Good FPS should make use of the entire arsenal.
Give upgrades to starting weapons (dual-wielding shitty starting pistol), balance how much ammo for different guns you give to player, have some utility for weaker guns (destroying props, finishing weaker enemies), give some drawback to stronger guns (aoe, slow projectiles, limited range, accuracy).
Aren't all Jakobs guns semi-automatic?
Evelyn
oh my fuck it keeps getting worse
Yes, and that one is.
you actually don't know what you're talking about
The bullet is still the same, the casing, however, is in the form of a triangle, known as a tround. Folks back in the 20th century were testing it as a weapon concept to blow shit up and store things effectively while making it light to carry more ammo
youtube.com
He loads a new round, that's the case with every FO4 reload.
Every gun in Fallout 4 is like this
>Inserts five shells
>Ejects a live round
user, do you not see the issue here?
it's like they wanted to rip off the PPSH but didn't take a thought as to how it should functionally work. Bethesda has this obnoxious habit of art designers that don't actually think about any logistics, which is why FO4 actually having the guys at Id do a few of the weapons makes the rest of FO4's weapons so fucking weird, especially the infamous lever action from the DLC.
The shotgun is quite powerful it's just that it's a point blank weapon, which is not too much of a problem since many of the games enemies have tells of what they are going to do next which allows to you dodge melee and ranged attacks.
So by the end of the game I was dodging fireballs left and right and blasting fucking demons in the face with the shotgun.
Very satisfying, but I understand why they gimped the range, the game is too much of a corridor shooter if they had kept the range of the first 2 doom games nobody would ever use any other weapon because it would be too powerful for the environment they had.
The laptop gun awesome, fuck you.
It's a Marlin Guide Gun. Their loader is in the right side. Bethesda switched it to the left side.
I can't wrap my head around why they thought it sounded ok, especially since that sound was in right from the alpha.
The MULE from Gunman Chronicles
Actually I do. If the HL2 Pistol was good, I would use it over every single other gun. Getting a new weapon wouldn't matter because the pistol is good enough, so why bother? Unless I was out of ammo the pistol would be used exclusively.
>They just decided to laze out and make them serve the same functionality with the customization.
But Bethesda is one of the very few game developers that isn't lazy.
maybe the firing pin is really really long, and the cratridge doesn't go further back than where the magazine is
same
...the Mozambique isn't in Team Fortress 2
you can sneak the fucking superheated power fist into the casions
how does that even work
It's semi-auto.
i dunno about that one chief
That's a complaint you can make about every FO4 reload, and most other games besides.
lol just shoot with the other shoulder
Any new weapon from F.E.A.R Perseus Mandate
>being right handed
topkek
You could say it's a bee bee gun
anything from doom 2016
>pistol literally goes pew pew pew
NOT ENOUGH FOOD TOKENS
I legit thought it was a shitty pistol, it's supposed to be huge shotgun
>really really long firing pin
Making it a piece of shit that's gonna break after like three rounds
>does anyone smell burning
>ak-47
I don't understand how that variant became so known when it's the rarest one of the ak family excluding prototypes
>ugly
Say that to my face and not over the internet and see what happens.
>It's 2019 and every piece of media still refers to a magazine as a clip
>One time swear some show called a stripper clip a magazine as if to piss me off more
Worth a read about all the gun issues in FC2
It's basically a pistol for all intents and purposes. I like to call it the button-pressing gun
>"anything" from Doom 2016
nice bait
>anything
No way fag. Just the pistol.
I like it. One of the best peashooters in any game.
>firerate
>sound
>actually quite accurate and relatively deadly
Been dun befo
youtube.com
It was shit then, still shit today
It's the iconic weapon of the communist era, much like the M16 and the FAL for the west. The 74 improved upon the 47 in every way, but gun nuts still hunt for the 47 because of its legend.
Play Killing Floor 1/2
Shotguns are by far the most broken OP shit imaginable. The AA12 will turn everything into cheddar.
this
while I enjoy some real guns, why not put funny ones in games, theyre fiction after all
The number. "AKM" carries no cool factor.
Top bait
ahem
It's still better than normal shotgun from DOOM, but i don't shit on D. version.
>lets combine the flaws of both shotgun and revolver
Hardline was unironically the best BF game since BC2
AKM, preferably underfolder > any other gun
the entire arsenal in 2 is terrible let's be honest
Heat-resistant colon implant
You have the big gay
Why are you a retard?
Have to disagree, its crazy firing rate and accuracy keeps it from being garbage even after you get the SSG. It's pretty much Doom's shotgun on roids.
I enjoyed magnum and pulse rifle a bit.
wtf
>grand total of 18 bullets to be found throughout the game
You can shoot down helicopters with it in Stalker: Oblivion Lost Remake, so its good by me
The Spas 12 is semi auto in the default config right? Couldn't it be set up for full auto and the cyclic rate is just fast enough to fire two rounds that quickly?
It's almost impossible to excuse this though.
The SSG is such a powerful gun that it changes the whole dynamic of the game. It deals 3 times more damage than the standard shotgun at the cost of just 2 shells and a slower firerate. Its firepower shreds enemies that would've been obstacles in Doom 1 like pinkies, cacodemons and barons. That gun alone is one of the main reasons why Doom 2 throws more enemies at you and has a bigger nastier enemy roster in general. Your meme opinion is wrong.
best post in this thread
How would you make a gun to subtly troll /k/?
I loved this gun. The jerkyness fit that it was made of wood and set in Africa. Plus it sounded impactful and satisfying.
Reload from the bottom near the trigger.
holy fuck I completely forgot about this video
>10 years ago
I am truly a fucking old man
Yeah it’s annoying but you have to admit that actually getting butthurt over this requires a certain level of autism.
It's so OP, you don't even need other guns for the rest 75% of game. Just carry various ammo for it(except rubber bullets, they are utter shit)
Type III milled AK's are by far the most common produced around, given and are the most common type of milled kalashnikov you will find. There were many countries who made them milled under soviet support (Chinks especially, they had to reverse engineer how to stamped their Type 56s after the Sino-Soviet split) Type I stamps are de facto the rarest followed by Type II milled as well.
games always make it far better than it is in reality
>in every way
except caliber. Also AKM was the one to quickly replace the ak-47. Ak 74 came after the akm, which is actually the variant usually when people talk about "ak-47"
guess i'm retarded and not knowledgeable then
>yfw AKMS
depends what it's made of.
So how many of the people shitting on this gun don't even know where it's from?
1 it's from fucking borderlands, a game that has realism as the last of its concerns
2 its a randomly generated gun with random parts
you are literally talking bullshit. even on hard mode I swear the cache on top of the exit of the ravenholm mines has a full replenish.
Wait, are you telling me a Protecta loaded with slugs cannot shoot down a Mi-24 irl?
You don't know what the point of rails are?
An M16 that reloads by shoving stripper clips through the ejection port.
Absolutely great taste.
>that article
oh god thanks for posting it
>that bayonet placement
I never noticed the bayonet, holyshit kek
RANDY YOU HAVE TO GET BACK TO THE MEDIEVAL TIMES YOU FORGOT YOUR USB STICK ON THE TABLE
Randy pls
These have a firing sound that would make an airsoft gun sound powerful, and they become irrelevant when you get the more powerful minigun that shares ammo with them.
Actually, scratch that.
For me, it's the underfolder donger.
bolts are put on the right so when pulling it you can keep aiming at your target, also scolding shells falling onto your arm
>2 its a randomly generated gun with random parts
It's the whole fucking part that is retarded, it's the same on every gun that has it. Go to bed Randy.
other than the stock and the whole profile of the firearm being too large and high, nothing else really wrong with that. The rails in front are for attachments, found in every modern firearm
I think they felt right because they were actually interesting in terms of design. Increased ammo wasn't just a longer magazine but was a whole magyvered contraption strapped onto your gun. More firepower wasn't just a shinier receiver but a whole housing of pumping gears and tubes. I don't know many games that have weapon upgrades like this but it makes it feel so satisfying when you actually get them.
Cylinders have to be closed, because the cylinder of a revolver doubles as the chamber. It needs to be able to hold the cartridge in place, and act as a wall for the expanding gas to push against when the gun is fired. Otherwise all the pressure from the gunpowder goes everywhere and the bullet at best just slides out the barrel.
The only way for the design as pictured to work is if the cylinder is actually just a spoke design with open sides, which would completely ruin half the function of the cylinder.
You *might* get away with it if the frame of the revolver acts as the outer wall of the cylinder. This would allow the spoke-design cylinder to feed ammo in from the side, and then close off with the frame as it rotates. But it would require such a precise fit that basically any fouling at all will start causing malfunctions. And really, if you have the machinery to manage that, there are better designs for handguns that don't risk malfunctions just to try and keep an old style alive.
I never liked the chaingun even as a kid. It just looks stupid and sounds weak.
even half life 1, to be honest
the pistol is still useful even after you get the SMG because it deals more damage per shot and is more accurate, making it great for sniping headcrabs. using it also saves more valuable ammo (energy, rockets, etc)
half life 1's weapon selection was great since every weapon had some kind of niche.
>SMG was good for semi-close range fighting and had the grenade launcher for fighting groups of enemies
>shotgun was great close range, obviously
>hivehand cost no ammo to use and had homing ammo, but had a shitty projectile speed and took a long time to "reload"
>gauss gun had a huge burst damage for peeking around corners and boosting yourself
etc
meanwhile half life 2 just throws you a generic assault rifle at some point, and that gun is the most effective weapon in 90% of situations and has shitloads of ammo to spare, so unless you feel like getting cute with the crossbow or something, there's no real reason to use anything else
Hard Reset would have been good if the gun didnt suck. Transforming is a lame gimmick
>Payday 2 has gun customization
>Get the Spastic 12 year old
>It costs $40000 to unfold the stock because the devs are retarded
>The only exception to that rule was when I turned my Mauler in MWO in (barely) walking 95 tons four-barreled automatic shotgun.
Based
one of my favorite mechs in MWO is a double LBX20 mad cat 2 with two ERPPCs
It has decent long range potential and then just fucking deletes any retard dumb enough to round a corner and look at you.
This is pretty neat desu
on that note, here's a fucking ugly revolver.
retard
prove it.
the chaingunguy's chaingun sound more effective even if it's just the shotgun firing noise played rapidly
>1200 rpm. Both bullets hitting same target
>retarded
You're retarded
shame they were hellbent on fucking the game up at the beginning. Guess that's blizzard for you.
user YOU'RE GOING TO GET Yea Forums IN TROUBLE AGAIN
WE CAN'T GO AROUND SHOOTING DOWN HELICOPTERS
I really hate how bulky and cartoonish all the guns look. Sniper scope really irritates me, also the assault rifle. The designs of the guns (and the characters) just make the game seem more goofy to me like a cartoon.
>shoots soft-airgun pellets
Yeah, no wonder it took several mags to down a single zombie.
Nah. Half life 2 to this day has some of the best feeling guns. You can’t beat those Steam+Havoc bullet physics and they all have great aim if you know how to use them.
its lowkey the dirtiest gun in NV
Not in Titanfall 2. Even in Apex it's pretty fun to use.
i remember thinking the shotgun from 2016 was underwhelming and then i played it again and holy shit how wrong i was
>how good the grenade launcher is at everything
>how solid the triple shot is when you just need something deleted in the early game
>how consistently it staggers enemies, even at medium range, allowing you to follow up with another shot or a punch which will almost certainly stun them
Am I crazy or is that hammer too high to actually hit a round in the chamber?
Can't wait to scrape my wrist in the exact part you really don't want a scrape on
>machine gunner
>gets also all the heavy launchers
I hate this trope, makse zero sense. Otherwise xcom is a great game
That sounds very much intentional. IIRC the devs said they wanted it to feel like playing with action figures, especially with the customization
fun fact: they based this revolver on the python from HL1, apparently
take that for what you will
this thing made me wanna throw up
every aspect of overwatch's design is an abject failure
theres a SPUR on the GUN where your HAND would typically GRAB it.
And the AKM is basically just an updated AK-47, considering the original AK-47 was designated just as the AK calling an AKM an AK-47 isn't exactly wrong.
>sucked at anything past 1 feet
fixed
Borderlands is intentionally stupid and over the top, you might as well shit on Duke Nukem for being unrealistic.
There's litterally a gun that does a load of damage, but slows your movement to a crawl and screams and insults you when you fire it as a trade off. It's not meant to be taken seriously
>semi-automatic
>no damage
>can't be handle with both arms
>5 meters of actual range
Deal with it. Bloodborne has the shittiest gun pool in all the vidya.
The railgun in pretty much the only usable weapon in that game and then it has a fire rate of 1 RPM.
I fucking hate Jakobs rifles, I'm pissed they're bringing them back in the new game, they're shit and unfun but unironically the only decent fucking rifles in vanilla BL2 and PS
that thing was ok, i geuss
Might also be to make the guns seem bigger from the far away view you see your guys most of the time.
You're a brainlet if you think this weapon is awful. It has easy to control recoil, headshots kill all the civil protection guys easily AND you can mag-dump with it. It lacks a little power but it's far from bad.
>plebs who know nothing about Halo
The key thing to keep in mind is that while the UNSC"s firearms seem primtiive given the game takes place 500 years in the future, they consistently are shown to be more complex in a few ways, most notably the fact that they use much larger cartridges and fire at higher bullet velocity then each gun's modern equailvent (The Assault rifle in Halo, which occupies a role sort of like the modern M4, uses a full size, 7x64mm round, their shotgun is 8 guage, their standard sniper rifle is an Anti material rifle, etc), alongside the implication and statements elsewhere that materials science has advanced and body arrmor and just general materials for equipment in general is much stronger, and that the guns havre advanced recoil migiation technology
The second, and where your question becomes relavenant, is stuff like intergerated electronics and digital logistics technology is super common. All guns have smart link systems to link up to the HUD of the wearer, (be it MJOLNIR's helmet, the ODST helmet, combat goggles, or even, assumedly, through a person's neural link they have installed on their neck), there's integeratef friend or foe tags, there's electronic/digital scopes that feed the zoom directly to the use'rs hud as well, ammo counters, etc.
So to answer your question, the reason is because electronic/digital systems and logistics is fully intergerated into the entire UNSC armed forces, so there's no need for actual iron sights. That vbeing said, we see in concept art (pic related), that if you remove the electronics suite, there's a sight under thewre
AA13 in Neotokyo just destroys everything in one hit.
Syndicate 2012 was underrated as fuck, just because its bloom was OP
App3 pistol is still sexy
gta 4
As notes, even [putting aside the EMP charge, it's actually not complete trash just with the normal fire mode in CE. In Reach (the game you posted it from) it's also somewhat capable of getting kills in a pinch, though not as well in CE. Same for 4 and 5, but it chews through ammo super quick in those.
that thing was fucking great
>tfw your brain is so massive it collapses under its own gravity
Since Bethesda published NV and it was made on their engine, couldn't they just copy a few lines of its code to make proper hand reload animations?
Why did you quote me? I like the AR.
You guys are looking at this gun wrong. You can stunlock with it in Halo 1.
Best game.
Fuck this thing was awful. The nu-Covenant weapons were shit minus the Focus Rifle.
I loved this thing fight me
Plenty of guns in doom16 had great upgrades, the shotgun basically made the pistol pointless as soon as you got it, ar(actually a fucking beltfed 50cal) with scope was great for sniping, while rocket pod replaced normal fire when you fully upgraded it
I want to get into KF2 but there's something about it that just didn't hook me as much as KF1 did
the blunderbuss is more of a tool than an outright damage dealing weapon, but
>better firesound than the hunter pistols
>spread shot, so an enemy that tries to evade will probably still get hit
>does great stagger compared to the pistol, notably can stagger crowds with the spread shot as a panic button when you're getting swarmed
>the description outright lies to you for some reason, it's just as quick to raise and fire as the handguns- it just takes longer before you can take another action. Still a con, but it's just as good for parrying if you get the timing right in the first place.
its great in reach
easy to use with a xim
they probably figured they could just release it unfinished and let the fans actually make the real animations.
The barrel IS supposed to jiggle a little? I remember using a port to L4D2 and whoever made the gun jiggleboned the barrel improperly so it became jello if you so much as turned.
Test
Literally why
Coolest thing about it was showing off the new lighting engine Carmack made
Don't forget the fucking anti-air sights on that pig.
Jesus christ this gun is fugly and stupid.
the fact that Reach's AR felt pretty good made this shit
It would be possible but only if the revolver was designed for that from the ground up, there is no way a normal revolver could be modded to work like that.
thanks for the input Randy
>The Assault rifle in Halo, which occupies a role sort of like the modern M4, uses a full size, 7x64mm round
Look at the size of this cross hair.
>shoving the stripper clip into the floor plate
I now want an enbloc fed 1903
You shut your whore mouth, that thing was a beast on BC2
Hey, as someone who mourns the fact that such a good game concept was ruined by it's shitter aspects, I personally found the autoturrets that could shoot you through walls and the awful twist and character motivations at the end also killed a nice game.
The canted sights on that one gun were cool as fuck though.
IT'S NOT A SOLDIER'S GUN EY?
That's why it has no recoil and perfect accuracy, you're supposed to magdump into their face.
Isn't the Halo Assault rifle's ammo counter actually detachable?
Didn’t this get memed into army of two?
lmao... Someone hasn't used Jakobs legendaries I guess.
No really, the back part of the Desert Eagle's slide moves, the front part doesn't. The sight is in the wrong spot. That's why the rail section is in the front.
fuck you i liked it
i loved how much of a piece of shit it was in lost in vivo
>he doesn’t use the cannon
There’s your problem
My only issues with the guns in anthem were the fact that they all look relatively same and they all have those stupid rags all over
What purpose could they possibly serve when they're clearly not for camo?
don’t you have some bathrooms to be kneeling in, randy?
>4+5 magic lever action
>that soft-reset hammer
>round 4 is loaded, then ejected empty at the end of the reloading animation
>left-loosey bullshitery
>why is he barrel so comically large?
Am I missing anything?
I'm surprised no one ever made a USP Elite model for HL2 honestly. It looks way cooler and more fitting for the setting than the USP Match does, and there's more than just 9mm variants so you could legitimately damage/sound mod it within reasonable levels.
ITS FUCKING IRONIC YOU RETARDS GODDAMN
Yeah, it's pretty obvious why it's so unreliable in real life. The whole thing jiggles.
I liked how the handguns were the only weapons that could be fired while sprinting, giving them a use in CQB as you could pepper an enemy while running at them for a melee attack.
the funny part is they knew nothing about guns going into the game and had to do extensive research. They still made mistakes as you can see with the service rifle having no charging handle but almost all of them are gun lovers now.
Wait, they fixed it? Because it was like FO4 at launch.
What that was the most kino shotty ever it just needed slugs.
It was great in DoomRL before the ammo regeneration nerf.
>tfw pull the trigger more than once per minimal time unit and running out of ammo on infinite ammo gun.
They specifically patched it some time after launch, though they never backported the patch to FO4. Problem is it still inexplicably ejects a spent shell for no reason.
Just the ammo count. It's still ejecting a round needlessly and its left-sided
Use it with Acog and slight of hand pro, works so much better.
What's the benefit of shooting a can of tuna?
theres so many shit wrong in just 7 seconds
>got a flashback to when I jumped down towards a super mutant and shot him dead using this weapon.
thanks for the memories user.
I hated the fact that the bullets/spent casings didn't move..
yes, but the devs really thought they could fix something that was already perfect
>shoot pilot
>helicopter dies
you'd be surprised how weak bulletproof glass is
That is unironically what they did in Fallout 4.
>flip-up rear sight
>along-axis 'front sight' setup like it's a fucking shotgun
>that godawful height-over-axis
>if it's bulky it's scary and futuristic!
>handle is placed way too far back, or the rear 'stock' is retardedly short
>must weight well over 10kg
yeah, but the devs went out their way to "fix" the gun
I'd laugh myself into a coma if I saw something like that. That's hilarious.
>Halo "lore"
That thing looks like it would Far Cry 2 on me.
You can actually set barrels on fire without just exploding them
>high recoil, low mag size, and slow fire rate compared to the other semi autos
>just for a little bit more damage
At least it becomes a great sniper rifle once you unlock the scope.
clip your nails faggot
Which barrel does the shooty bits come out of?
>gameplay mechanics are canon
Well shit user, guess a single pistol shit kills the giant, 12 foot tall amalum of hundreds of worms then.
The information in the novels and the EU overides gameplay abstractions. We have specific effective range numbers, muzzle velocities, etc for a bunch of the guns. In the books single plasma pistol shots also basically ,melt people's ribcages open and can give second degree burns even just from near misses.
The MA37 (the AR from reach)'s is, yes; it's hard to tell if in the art I posted the ammo counter is also removed or if it's just the front housing .
The pistol from Half-Life
I don't know how to tell you this user but Halo unironically has the most lore of any Video game IP period. Elder scrolls is litterally the only other thing that comes close.
I guess, I have issues with the idea for both aesthetics and function. I'm not going to fuck up my zero to demonstrate it to myself, but I'm pretty sure having the RDS forward like that would make sight acquisition more difficult. If I had a Deag I'd definitely get the slide cut.
In any case the one shown ingame is the older version without the rail.
Part of the charm is how much descriptions go into detail. You'd know if you had opened the game manuals for the original releases of 1 and 2
i think this is better than the SSG
The more you look at it the funnier it gets desu
this gun is always shit
>sounds like shit
>feels like shit
>always super weak
>fucking huge
>How do we let people know this is a FUTURE revolver?
>Stick lights on everything and anything. Fuck it, put some lights on the back of the cartridges as well
There is such a weapon, the Dardick Pistol.
Those magazines would've made more sense on a Bandit gun.
Wasn’t that the intention? I thought they said they made the combine weapons feel like ass to convey that they basically stood 0 chance if they were ever to revolt or something?
underrated post
I'm just bitching about the firing sound effect used in H3. It's awful.
>that shitty muzzleflash, tho
That was a glitch that was later fixed.
I agree. Not sure if you played the Halo games past 3, but Reach and especially 5 have really fantastic sound design on the AR, and they, again especially 5, are way morew accurate and they feel super meaty and fun to shoot.
All of them, the weapon is called Cerberus+1
The weapon's intrinsic perk is called Four-Headed Dog and it shoots bullets from all barrels at the same time
It's actually a really trash gun despite it being considered an "exotic weapon" no one uses it
...
Isn't it left-sided for copyright reasons?
>it was like an inch, if that, from taking out my eye like in that Christmas movie.
A Christmas Story? Protagonist didn't shot his eye out, he's got the exact same wound as you
Check out my mods
No, that would be the FAL.
>mah fayvourite.
>he didn't clear Quarry Junction with this
luck builds are great user, try it out
If one thing that dogshit abortion H5 could do right was indeed giving us a useful assault rifle with headshot damage bonus. Shame it's overshadowed by the SAW.
>he doesn't know
The ejection port is still too big, the bolt doesn't have room to move, the trigger, guard, and mag release are too far forward to move the magazine back, and for some reason the mag release is inside the trigger guard instead of by the magazine, it's just a completely non-functional design.
that facebook post still makes me kek
Forgot image to contribute to the thread
Not bad
>resonance of fate
monica
Holy shit what a bunch of retards.
Most guns in that game feel and look like shit.
