OoT Online

Anyone want to play Ocarina of Time online? Now you can.

1. Download the most recent release of the OoT online "modloader" from here: github.com/hylian-modding/OotModLoader/releases

2. You will need to supply your own Ocarina of Time ROM. Last time we were playing using the 1.0 US (NTSC) version of the ROM. I don't know if it matters if you have a different version? We could always try it.

3. Extract the ZIP file you downloaded from the link in point 1. Put your ROM into the "rom" folder located within the unzipped folder. Run "OoTModLoader-GUI.exe", and make sure private and public network boxes are checked if a window appears with these options.

4. Make a lobby or join a lobby. That's all there is to it. Be sure to set your controls and shit as well. Make a new save whenever you join a new game.

Anyone up for playing?

Shameless bump, surely someone on here is interested.

Attempting another bump.

oh, did they finally release it?

Can't fight enemies together

So what can you do with your friends in this game?

No because I'm not a dumb zoomer. Actually, OoT online sounds genuinely dreadful

itd be a lot more fun with 3 people instead of 2. why would 2 people play in totally different parts of the map instead of right next to each other. whoevers making this should do 3 people. 2 people sounds limited. you either stick together or never see each other

it might be fun with a couple friends if you havent played it for years but what are you and your 1 buddy going to do thats so special?

If I'm revisiting the game I'd rather revisit the game the way it was made instead of some dumb tacked on multiplayer

How does that even work? If someone gets one item then you can't get it? Doesn't that open up multiple possibilities for the game to be unbeatable such as if one person has the Hookshot but the other has Ocarina (and thus they can't beat Forest Temple)

Yeah can OP just explain how it works/why it's worth playing?

You can download it yes. They're still working on it though. But I played it recently with people on Yea Forums and it works pretty well. We did have a Discord but I tried going on it today and it says the invite has expired. Which sucks.

I think you're right, but you can still see each other in the game world, and items you collect (apart from ammo and rupees) are shared. So if you get the Kokiri's Emerald, everyone has it. If someone else gets the Hookshot, everyone has it. If someone gets the Song of Time, everyone has it. Skulltulas are shared too, so are Heart Pieces, etc. Everything except ammo (amount of bombs, sticks, etc.) and rupees.

Complete the game together. I was playing it yesterday with someone from Yea Forums, and he went off to the Great Fairy fountains to get magic power and I think Din's Fire too, while I was finishing Jabu Jabu. Then he went to get Epona while I went to get Hookshot.

OoT is a 20 year old game. So how the fuck is this a "zoomer" thing you fucking dunce?

You can play with lots of people, up to 16 in a lobby I think. If lots of people in this thread are up for it then we could play.

You can have lots of people, up to 16 in a lobby I think. The other day there were 4 of us from Yea Forums playing in the same lobby, and you could see everyone's character.

It's exactly the same game, but with more people playing, so one person can do things like go to the Great Fairy fountains to get magic power and the three spells, while someone else is doing a dungeon, while someone else is doing Big Poes to get the fourth bottle, etc.

>If someone gets one item then you can't get it?
All items, medallions, songs, skulltulas, etc. are shared. The only things not shared are ammo (bomb amount, stick amount, etc.) and rupees. So if someone gets the Hookshot, everyone has the Hookshot. If someone gets Zelda's Lullaby, everyone has Zelda's Lullaby.

See above.

Zoomercore trash

>a twenty year old game is "zoomer"! XD
I just don't know how it's possible to be as unfathomably stupid as you.

Attached: brainlet.jpg (640x723, 30K)

Lol why did you say the same thing like 5 times to different people. Thanks anyway man

Adding "multiplayer" to a 20 year old single player game is about as Zoomer as it gets.

>All items, medallions, songs, skulltulas, etc. are shared.
not that's it particularly difficult to do on your own, but could one cheese the biggoron's sword quest this way

Sounds interesting. It's too bad then that I am at work.

What an idiot, kek.

Zoomers don't have the attention span for OoT

Damn, that's true, you would be able to do it in a minute or so. Is there a chat or something?

Yeah true I probably should have condensed the answers into one.

>i can't think of any arguments because i'm not capable of rational thought, so i'll just reflexively call anything i dislike "zoomer" whether it's true or not! XD
The people who are making this are not zoomers, so you're objectively wrong. And again, zoomers playing a twenty year old game does not make any sense. I think you don't even know what "zoomer" means? Because you're clearly using it completely incorrectly.

Attached: brainlet2.png (800x729, 48K)

Which is why they felt compelled to add a multiplayer component to it.

Even then it's still not enough of a quick return on their time for "fun"
It's not like PUBG or Fortnite where it's 30 minutes of nonstop BS

I don't know actually. I assume you mean you could beat the timers by just having one person stay in the "delivery" spot, and they could instantly deliver it once someone else gets the relevant item. Not sure if it works, it might well do.

>Is there a chat
Not built into the software, no. So we could set up a discord.

Like I said in this post - - the people making this aren't zoomers. And zoomers wouldn't have even heard of a game that was made around the time they were born. So again, you clearly don't even know what the word "zoomer" means because you're using it incorrectly.

This game sucks, you nostalgia faggots need to fuck off.

>POPULAR THING BAD!
No one cares about your carefully-constructed contrarian persona, my friend.

Attached: don't like thing.jpg (500x628, 102K)

Don't bother with it's kind.
They're leftists. They hold grudges and will always reply.
Except in the cases where they don't reply in attempt to look and feel superior after being called out.
This is guaranteed.

my rom is .n64, readme in the rom folder says .z64, does this matter?

Did anyone even make a server? I'm not downloading unless there's interest

t. Zoomer

Yeah you're right really.

I've been playing with a .z64 ROM, so yes both of them work.

I'm pretty sure all of the games run on the same server which is owned by the people who made this - so all you need to do is make a lobby with a unique name and then people can join that lobby.

>doesn't even know what "zoomer" means

Learn to self moderate. Ignore shitposters.
Replying gives them what they want.

>you hate game I like, so you political opponent!
You're mentally retarded

I guess that's true, but at the same time, dunces need to be educated.

People who are looking for attention by being contrarians are almost certainly leftists.

Here's a free bump, I'll join you when I'm done actually playing the game and hopefully these lobbies will still be alive. I've never played it so when I did join lobbies before, I was completely lost if they were past the deku tree.

To reiterate, you're mentally retarded.

Did anyone make a lobby already? if so, what's its name?

Lobby is named "videogames". Password is the usual. Starting now.

And I'm using this rom if it matters
mediafire.com/file/3jzipu9tl67sppi/Ocarina of Time 1.0.rar

you faggots better fucking record it

Found the zoomer!

Takes two minutes to download this shit. Nobody's here.

i see me and one dude, i got sword, anyone else here?

>barely edited wojak
zoomercore meme

>tfw no mac version

The movement controls are kind of crooked for me. Going to try to fix them. Is there in game chat?

>Is there in game chat?
I can't find one. First time i've done this.

Original OP here from first thread; Jesus Christ, what an awful fucking OP. This isn't reddit or fucking tumblr, you can link roms and shit directly, you little fucking pussy. Provide them all in the first post so people don't fucking waste their time finding the right shit, everyone has to use the exact same fucking ROM.

ROM: mediafire.com/file/3jzipu9tl67sppi/Ocarina of Time 1.0.rar

Make a Randomizer: github.com/TestRunnerSRL/OoT-Randomizer/tree/Dev

You can play whatever fucking Ocarina of Time mod you want as long as everyone has the exact same rom file. If you're a transsexual or transitioning, use discord to communicate and stay there. If you're a Yea Forumsirgin, communicate with one another using this fucking thread.

Attached: 624624724577.jpg (778x458, 115K)

where the fuck everyone at?

>he plays a mac

Sorry that this place has you a bit befuddled bro. Perhaps you should head on over to /r/politics which I'm sure will be more your speed.

There's no in-game chat yet, you'll have use the thread to coordinate or find a way to communicate using actions in game.

Where are you now? I'm the red link btw.

>doesn't even know what "zoomer" means
>his image has literally nothing to do with age, confirming his lack of understanding of basic concepts
Are you determined to make yourself look as stupid as possible?

Attached: brainlet4.jpg (1838x2048, 157K)

when I hold slightly forward link turns backwards
is it supposed to do that?

i just beat dk tree

>doesn't understand what "zoomer" means

Attached: brainlet5.png (413x549, 82K)

You going to be okay zoomzoom?
Sorry your toddler game is for children

I'm using a mac - thankfully I have Windows on my MacBook too (with Boot Camp, so it's natively installed on another hard drive partition). So I'm playing it through that.

But there is a mac version if you go to the link in the OP, although it has to be used through the command line. Should be relatively straightforward though, hopefully. Not sure if it works because I've not tried it. But you could always give it a go.

Nice, I might join.

I had a problem with movement, maybe it's similar to yours but maybe not. My analog stick on my controller would only send me in the correct direction if I pressed it a lot in that direction - if I pressed it only a bit in that direction, then it sent me the other way for some reason. I fixed it by reversing the Y-axis in the controller settings of the emulator. Hope that helps, but it might not do because you might have a totally separate issue.

Randomizer Lobby Name: Double Princess
Password: None

Put this in your ROM folder instead of the vanilla OoT: files.catbox.moe/0o59ao.z64

>still doesn't understand the basic premise of the "zoomer" concept
>still doesn't understand the anachronism of suggesting that zoomers would be interested in playing a game that came out around the time they were born - probably because, as I said, he doesn't understand the basic premise of the "zoomer" concept

>So how the fuck is this a "zoomer" thing you fucking dunce?
Adding multiplayer to a game for no reason is pretty zoomer. Zoomers think that multiplayer automatically equates to a better product

i'm gonna join this one. to the user i was doing the other one with, good shit.

I tried going on this with no password. Are people still on this? I haven't received any items so either you haven't got any yet or no one's playing on it. Or I need a password.

I'll download this in case no one is on the other lobby.

How did you get the sword already?

Wow you even randomised entrances. Nice.

I'm on that lobby and I don't see a sword...

what are the settings for this rando?

Everybody else appears to have a sword for me. What happens when I hit the speedup button for the emulator? Does everybody else zoom around?

I'm playing it now and it looks like he randomised items, entrances, text on signs and from NPCs, environmental music, and I would guess he probably did songs and skulltulas given that everything else is randomised.

No, just you. Increases the chance of you fucking bricking though, so I wouldn't use it if I were you. Just side hop if you're in a hurry.

Other players will always appear to have the sword equipped even if it hasn't been collected yet. It's a quirk in the system.

That would explain it.

By the way, a guy set up this Discord the other day to discuss Yea Forums playing OoT, I've been on there the last few days, I hope he doesn't mind me inviting you guys to it: discord.gg/VKyHcw

Probably easier than posting on here with the fucking captchas

just did chicken bottle and got heart recovery, so don't waste your time.

"boomer" and "zoomer" are meaningless bullshit terms
please dont use them unironically

Once it's been obtained it's been obtained. So if others do it they won't get that heart piece. Normally if you redo it you get rupees I think? So maybe that will be randomised to something else, I don't know.

Join the Discord if you want, it eliminates having to solve captchas: discord.gg/VKyHcw
