if you can't get past 60FPS it's really good alternative
I had to play the Arkham Knight port at 30FPS and motionblur helped a lot it felt much smoother.

motion blur is only okay when it's used to highlight very fast objects like shrapnel. game developers need to stop treating the player viewport like a fucking DSLR

When i went back to ps2 recently a lot of the games used motion blur and it looks like crap on my 4K TV.

Real life has motion blur. A game displayed on a monitor needs to simulate it because you're not actually seeing moving objects but a series of still images. The still images won't blur on your retina in the same way and so it needs to be simulated to look "correct".
