It's not a question on if there will be a Dark Souls 4.
It's a question of how much do you WANT Dark Souls 4?
It's not a question on if there will be a Dark Souls 4
I want Bloodborne 2
This meme series already damaged the industry enough, I hope it just dies forever
Dark souls has already been done 3 times. If you want more Dark Souls just replay the existing ones.
What else could they add?
They could keep going the Bloodborne route and make games with similar gameplay but with entirely different settings.
The middle ages have not much else to offer apart from what you saw in the previous Dark Souls games.
I'll be interested to see what Namco does with the IP now that From is out of the picture. I wonder who'd they get to do it? The idea of another company having a crack at it while From makes their one-offs seems more interesting than From coming back to phone in the development.
If its another roll spam fest I'd rather not have it, if its a return to roots then I'd be very interested.
>Dark Souls: Gaiden
>made by Platinum Games
How bad is it?
I don't want it. and Dark Souls is one of my favourite games.
they already demonstrated multiple times after dark souls 1 that they don't know how to recapture what made it good, so it's probably not worth giving them another chance
I want Nioh 2
I guess it depends on if Kamiya can channel his inner DMC1 self and make a game with atmosphere.
I wouldn't mind a spinoff game set in the same universe but I don't want another sequel, DS3 was a fine send-off to the Souls universe and adding another mainline game would just make things more convoluted than they already are
I don't want it. The franchise has been milked for long enough.
We haven’t had a King’s Field game in years. It’s time.
this
>We haven’t had a King’s Field game in years
Thank god.
how about a prequel in the age of the gods
>implying King’s Field is bad
You swine.
I'd rather have Sekiro 2 or Bloodborne 2
Dark Souls is finished franchise, deal with it.
I don't get the "series has been milked hard enough" angle. What about franchises like Castlevania, or Mega Man... they have dozens of entries. Even King's Field had four entries, so what's wrong with a fourth Dark Souls?
If they did do some kind of follow-up game I'd rather it take place in one of the mentioned locations like Carim or Vinheim instead of a major setting like when the gods were at their peak
>>implying King’s Field is bad
Yeah sorry, it's terrible.
ok gonna lay the fact right here for you user
Considering that from's cotnract w bamco is finished and From can basically pic out what devs they want to work with now, I dont see them going back to bamco
In that case then the Dark souls IP is done for unless for some reason From's next titles flop and they are forced to go back to their bigger franchise, but that's unlikely
From is already working on a new ARPG IP, basically the next iteration of souls (some will argue sekino is that next iteration and while that is true, i mean a game that will also have those rpg elements and MP systems)
Froms next game will be armored core, so this new ARPG IP wont release until 2022 the earliest
They'll probably pitch is as an IP they can build upon for further releases
This doesnt mean that sekiro wont get a sequel, esp now seeing how well it performed, but the game seems like it was put out to work as a stand alone piece once the dlc is out
I dont see them going back to the same souls combat tho, they'll probably pick some elements from sekiro (as from is usually reusing stuff) but also build upon it and better fit it for various playstyles
I want Demon Souls 2.
I mean I'd be cool with another one at some point, but maybe give the formula a rest for a few years.
Between sequels and Bloodborne and re-releases there's so many of those games available on the current gen.
They're good games and all but they honestly aren't all that different from one another and at this point I'm kinda burnt out on them.
I want Demon Souls Remastered for Switch
contd*
expect sekino to get 2 dlcs, one later this year then another in march next year
From seems to favor 2 dlcs per game, seeing how that was even the original case for bloodborne
There's a chance they might release 3, and that for sure would be an interesting twist but I dont see it happen
>questions???
Or play Demon's Souls unlike this pleb
FPBP
As many as it takes, until the snakes are dead, and I get to be the one who stabs them until they are.
I suspect Sony owns DeS and a remaster or sequel would be locked to PS.
melee combat as good as sekiros.
No, fuck sequels. Give me Sekiro dlc and go make Blame! game.
bro go to bloodborne's chalice dungeons
there's your demon souls 2
why would they revisit an old sony IP when they already have a way bigger one that's not as similar as dark souls
like i dont see the point. Dark souls was already a continuation of the dark souls formula, only better
you want a continuation of demon souls world? then there's bloodborne user
I want Code Vein
Everyone would be hype for it if it was released ten-to-fifteen years from now. Right now, no one would care.
lololololo americano weaboo con shittaste
Dark Souls is actually a continuation of Demon Souls, unofficially, because Sony has ip rights.
that aint true, there are a ton of diehard closeminded fucks who were mad at sekiro and just want the same shit over and over
but yeah lets not pander to those people
I want to know what happened to Code Vein, they paraded it around, built a bunch of hype then delayed it indefinitely and they've stopped talking about it.
I wanted to kill Hatsune Miku.
in terms of game systems it is, that's what I said, but lore wise bloodborne is a sequel
>you have those catacombs filled with knight armors
>father gascoigne who comes from a far land used to say umbasa
>game files directly labeled ds2
Why do people ask for more souls when the creator himself said he's done with it?
game is said to be going through dev hell
all we were shown at the time was all they had, that area was like the first thing they built, just a prototype which explains why it looks so dull
they just wanted to profit from the lack of souls at the time, and do so before fromsoft announced their next gem
desu they were clever, imagine trying to build any short of hype after sekiro was announced
that's also why they are now just pandering to us with waifus
game will likely be trash with the studio pedigree, just built to take some of that souls x hentai revenue
I can see a game working if it's set during the new Age of Ancients that follows DS3. With a strong horror bent, where the whole world is a lifeless ruin, towering archtrees are everywhere, and you're constantly making your way through buried decomposing ruins of the previous Age of Fire while crawling under the roots of the world, with the massive shadows of everlasting dragons the size of a small city flying overhead and shrouding everything in darkness. The perfect kind of setup to serve as a kind of postscript to the setting as a whole, tie up loose threads, and maybe get more light shed on the parts of the lore we never have any clear contact with, like a newcomer poking through the ruins of the past just finding out stuff, trying to figure out why he's awake, or even better, what he IS. And maybe at the end you even get to witness the birth of the new First Flame and the life it brings, and get a glimpse on what kind of new world it will be.
because people have really limited imagination and cant imagine anything better than what already exists
same reason why everybody was raging when sekiro was announced because "muh different"
Beats me user, I sure as hell don't know either.
I think both of them are actually sequel, just alternative routes of what happens after Demon Souls (depending on ending).
Does that make the old one a great one in this context?
Why? What else could they possibly do with the story? And don't say a prequel because that would be lame as fuck.
I want DaS4 if FROM wants to do a DaS4
I love the series but i fucking hate how mistreated it was.
>1 is filled with passion but development is rushed midway through
>2 is given to a literally who director who FUCKS EVERYTHING and they have to rebuild the game from scraps, resulting in a broken mess of animations, graphics and game design
>3 is absolutely low effort with the excessive re-use of assets and ideas, linear as fuck and easy as fuck to make the biggest cash-in on the biggest amount of casuals possible
Im tired of this bullshit, if they want to do it right then sure, i want another fucking trilogy even, but if you are going to treat it like you did the 2 sequels then fuck you, no i dont want this trash, FROM damaged their series long enough and i dont want to be angry at them again, just go do whatever the fuck you guys want, because GODDAMN you guys half-ass it when you dont.
not at all after the Trainwreck that was DS3
I still want a Gwynevere boss fight.
Fuck off
Let Japan Studios develop it itself.
Bloodborne had so much love put into it. If there was to be a bloodborne 2, I would like to see that same quality like the first.
they barely did anything for bb tho
dont give the game to anyone other than fron
From knows where the money is and won't go exclusive again
More body sliders I want to have a GIGANTIC ASs and GIGANTIC TIDDIES on my barefoot half naked obese female character also we need a facesit gesture and sex gestures during jolly co op and invasions
D4RK
SOULS
Then go play Black Desert Online and fuck off
no. I want those options in dark souls
ah yes, handle me that thing, woof, your Dark Soul
I don't, concept was wearing down by the end. Had my fun with the series and will go back and play them but it's time to move on to other IPs
Based
FPBP
>find Gwynevere.
>So much time has passed, her tits are all shriveled and saggy
I don't care what they make as long as they keep appealing to my doomer mentality with their dying world settings and melancholy atmosphere . That shit is good even in the armored core games.
>From knows where the money is
true, not only that but they are not owned by kadokawa so they are the ones choosing, and from what i've heard, that means exclusives are even more unlikely
however SNOY could still pull a ton of money at them for a sequel, they know it'd be a system seller for ps5
also SNOY usually does contracts of 3 games with studios. These are usually canceled if the games dont work out but it's likely from has still another snoy exclusive they need to deliver
I mean...maybe?
bloodborne is the sequel to the no-magic ending of demon souls
I kinda want it but it's not at the top of my list.
1. a proper Samurai Souls
2. Bloodborne spritiual sequel (i.e. what Dark was to Demon's)
3. a new Soulslike IP based on another popular historical setting e.g. Ancient Greece or Rome
3. new Dark Souls game
5. Bloodborne 2
6. a new IP that's as dumbed down and feature starved as Sekiro
7. Sekiro 2
Hopefully Nioh 2 will be fucking amazing.
>1. a proper Samurai Souls
unlikely w sekiro already out
>2. Bloodborne spritiual sequel (i.e. what Dark was to Demon's)
this guy gets it, from is great at continuing with grander concepts but not making a strict sequel
I'd love another miyazaki led gothic horror game
.
.
.
>6. a new IP that's as dumbed down and feature starved as Sekiro
yeah you are a bit retarded nevermind
>What else could they possibly do with the story?
Who gives a shit about the story? Give us more Dark Souls in more magical locations with more bosses and weapons and armor sets and shit. Simple.
chill they will give us medieval dark fantasy stuff + rpg + multiplayer
just not under the dark souls IP
The IP had three (plus DeS) in the series.
This.
>directly labeled ds2
These are actually files from DaS2, not DeS.
Their games sell like hotcakes on all the platforms. Their next game is already confirmed to be a multiplat but they apparently are working on two games so who knows.
Miyazakis next game won't be BB2 tho.
>let's run another great ip into the ground!
No thanks.
>These are actually files from DaS2, not DeS
lance mcdonals and richard pillbeam have been datamining these games for a couple of years now, dont think they'd make that mistake
also you have no proof of these being ds2 files, mind you, a game that was developed in an entirely different engine
as others said in this thread, bb has traces of demon souls in the lore that are pretty obvious, to the point of one of the bosses directly saying umbasa
there's more ties to des2 than ds2
He was talking about BB you dipshit
I want them to fucking take their time and synthesize all of the best parts from DeS to Sekiro.
>DeS level of experimenting
>DaS level of world design
>DaS level of characterization of characters
>DSII DLC level design
>DSIII level of presentation
>Bloodborne's entirely live instrument soundtrack
>Sekiro's level of combat
I mean come the fuck on, DSIII was fucking embarrassing in the character department. I just beat the bull in Sekiro, and Emma still has the same damn dialogue from a few hours ago
>There was once a Dragonrot epidemic before...
Come the fuck on. And why does she stay outside? The sculptor isn't gonna mind if she sits with him.
Tanimura and B team are not int he credits for sekrio so you know what that means
I don't want this.
Rather, I want a spiritual successor set in a new world that is essentially the same as Bloodborne, but not stuck on a system that plays it as poorly as the PS4. Seriously, the game feels so choppy it makes my stomach bleed.
Maybe they could it all... Darkborne. Or Blood Souls. Or Bloodkiro.
>Their games sell like hotcakes on all the platforms.
yes i too said this
>Their next game is already confirmed to be a multiplat
dont see where you got this from but this would make sense if their next title is also AC as i said before
>Miyazakis next game won't be BB2 tho.
i mean we dont know, I sure wouldnt want him working on it if he's not passionate about it
doesnt need to be BB2, just the next sony sequel that's likely to happen if the 3 contract thingie is true
I'd find it weird if he was the director of AC considering it was likely developed in paralel to AC
so who knows what's next for this madman
>>DSII DLC level design
>1 long line that warps around on itself
>3 times
stop posting you nigger
>Dark Souls 4.
If it's AGE OF DARK i want it really bad!
I heard FROM usually builds demos with engines from previous games before using better tech. I guess I must be mistaken then.
The traditional fantasy setting got boring, and the victorian setting is even less appealing.
DS3 hints at an age after the Age of Fire, called the Age of the Deep Sea. I would like to see a game about this in a different setting.
If you simplify anything of course it sounds like shit.
>DeS level of experimentation
>Game gets harder if you get griefed by a scraping spear faggot
It could mean Dark Souls 4 or BB2.
In my opinion BB2 will be a PS5 release.
sekiro is their best game in terms of character developement, just keep playing
>I just beat the bull in Sekiro, and Emma still has the same damn dialogue from a few hours ago
you say it like the bull is an important character
she changes her dialogue before that if you do other stuff anyways
>Come the fuck on. And why does she stay outside? The sculptor isn't gonna mind if she sits with him.
she goes inside later on lol, in various poses too, just keep playing bro
gameplay wise, its common for npcs in hubs to be kept away from each other so that the space in the hub is better used. Would be weird for everyone to be close together cause then you wouldnt care about the rest of areas inside of the hub, this is pretty basic game dev stuff
also there's more character stuff that kinda keeps her from being too close to the owl
>age of the deep sea
>MHTri of the Souls Series
Please no
>The traditional fantasy setting got boring
Even by DSIII the From fuckers were pulling amazing vistas never seen in vidya fantasy out their dicks. Read: There are no contemporary medieval fantasy games that can match the unique settings of these games.
>There are no contemporary medieval fantasy games that can match the unique settings of these games.
This.
Why would anyone want sequels when they already fucked up 2. I would want a Dark Souls and Demon Souls remake for the next generation but no fucking sequels.
well sekiro was made by the bb team, that is A TEAM, that's what we've been told since it was first revealed
would be interesting to fully disect the credits tho
>Tanimura and B team are not int he credits for sekrio so you know what that means
B team can still do great stuff on the next game, they did most of DS3 and that game was only bad because they had just 2 years of dev time and shit budget, half the game had to be scrapped. that is the ending and a ton of game systems
B team can pull their shit for the next release, i believe in tanamura, just give them more money and time
I want them to make a postive game for once.
You can set it in DS universe tbqh, just make it about actual full-on rebirth of the world from leftover cinders. The repeated death instead of a curse is now a blessing as you NEVER GIVE UP in your quest to bring life to the place once again.
Call it Burning Souls.
they do! but for some reason with ds2 they started from the ground up with a completely new engine, which is what caused the game to have such a troubled dev cycle
Yeah they're great, but no more please, do something different
I like how we talk about A team and B team like we know shit of how they opperate
So that's why DS2 felt like a brand new game instead of just a rehash of the original
i like how you're a little faggot bitch
Just keep making new games in new settings. Demon's Souls was great, Dark Souls 1 was great, Bloodborne was great, Sekiro was great. Meanwhile DS2 and DS3 were...questionable, to put it as kindly as possible. Fromsoft seems to perform best when creating entirely new worlds but falters when it comes to expanding on them.
Please no. It's already dead.
>and that game was only bad because they had just 2 years of dev time
The base game was made in about a year and four months considering DSII's DLC and Bloodborne's DLC were being worked on up until mid 2015.
sounds absolutely kino and ludo as fuck
But we do
A team made:
DaS, DeS and BB
B team made:
DS2, DS3 and Sekiro.
Sekrio is a team with miyazaki, b team and tanimura are not in the credits of sekiro
/Thread
Too late, user.
>Project 1: An action role-playing game with a dark fantasy setting similar to Dark Souls, but approached from a ‘different angle’.
>Project 2: A reboot of an existing franchise, with ideas inspired by Dark Souls and other previous franchises.
>Project 3: A brand new IP that’s ‘something different from what the company has been doing previously’ and ‘a bit weird’.
The "a bit weird" was confirmed by Miyazaki to NOT be Deracine. Project 2 likely turned out to be Sekiro. Project 1 is our "not-Souls 4"
wrong
DS3 wasn't even bad. Just rushed.
A good portion of the bosses in the game even discounting the DLC really are spectacular, and the level design was pretty much all-around fantastic.
If it had like, one more year of development and polishing, it would have been brilliant.
I'm not sure what the "B"-team are up to, should they actually exist as a distinct set of individuals within From Soft, but if they've learned their lessons from Dark Souls 2, remembered the efforts of the king crown trilogy, and whatever they assisted/developed with for Dark Souls 3, then I'm sure that their next project is just as likely as any From Soft game to be great.
DS3 is fundamentally trash, not even 5 years more of the development would have made it good, kys.
Transhuman horror sci-fi Souls, or Conquistador Souls set in 14th century Mexico with mesoamerican gods and beasts.
I want an alice in wonderland themed soulsborne game
B A S E D
I want
>DeS'/BB's level design
>DaS' overall map design
>Sekiro's verticality of the level design
>DaS2's evolution of power stancing, cues from Sekiro's combat and BB's trickweapons
>BB's level of art direction (live orchestra and all)
>DaS3's polish and netcoding
>Better spell casting weaponry, a la DeS or DaS1
>Good build variety
>Good lore, like BB's
>Good enemy/boss variety and design
yeah In many ways it felt different but I felt like that's also probably why the gameplay didnt feel as good as bb
it could very well be
they probably had some people working on it by the time ds2 was wrapped as they dont need the entire team for dlc
the way it feels to me is like areas where first built on their own without any sense of world design. This is probably because at that time they just had modelers working on stuff but planners were likely busy with ds2
once everyone got back to work on ds3 they had a lot of assets done but not much time for planning
they still wanted to do new shit like the bonfire sacrifice mechanic but it was likely cut because not enough dev time.
Entire ending was for sure cut because of bamco. remember how this was originally said to be "the lat entry in the series" but as the release got closer the press shifted to "a turning point for the series". Bamco clearly got scared thinking they might want to g back to the series in the future so they forced a more mediocre ending that basically repeats what went don in ds1
original ending looked like it would have been a more definitive thing. they were probably quite deep into it too
seriously fuck bamco
The Souls series has singlehandedly brought Singleplayer games back into mainstream popularity.
All it has done is improve the industry.
this much of a retarded
sekiro made by the same team as BB
I would play that
It's fundamentally good.
I don't want Dark Souls 4 at all. The fanbase has been corrupted - the games themselves keep getting worse as they go on.
Just let FROM do what they want to do from here on out. Every time they branch out from traditional souls it's great. Bloodborne and Sekiro show that. Hell even the quickening pace of combat from dark souls 1 onwards show that's what they want to do and that's what they're good.
You did. It's called Dark Soul 3.
I didn't want 2 I didn't want 3 and I sure as fuck don't want them to dig up a corpse for the 4th game.
era insider onipotent who was the one who leak sekiro being annunced at tgs and ms e3 claims that sekiro was not part of those 3 fromsoft games, just like deracine wasnt there
still, project 2 sounds a lot like sekiro and it also would be weird for them to talk about this 3 project deal years ago and for the two games that came out after (sekiro and deracine) to not even be taken into account...
if the era insider is right then
>project 1: is the not-souls4. dark fantasy arpg with MP
>project 2: likely armored core. again this sounds a lot like it could be sekiro but goes against what insider said and also dont see from not developing a new armored core
>Project 3: who the fuck knows but i sure hope it's directed by miyazaki and its a fullon game, not a gimmick vr thingie etc
There's an utterly enormous area that will never see the light of day. Lord knows why it was cut.
Is all the infighting between souls fans really necessary?
What's the root cause of all this friction? This... animosity? What exactly is it that gave birth to this deep, burning schism that's split this fanbase into six fractured pieces?
Why can't we just exist as the amicable, respectful, functioning family we should all strive to be?
With Dark Souls, the all loving, guiding, humble father. Stoic, commanding of all men's respect and adoration.
And Demons Souls, the reluctant mother, who gave birth to our favourite games. Less respected than our father, and sometimes battered by him, but kind and nurturing nonetheless, even if she resents living in the shadows.
And Dark Souls 3, the prodigal son... the very image of his father, a brave, sprightly soul, cheerful and yet not too brash, but with an awful tendency of mimicking his family at awkward moments.
And Bloodborne... well, we do remember Bloodborne do we not? The rebellious, brilliant, witty sister, creative and edgy, always treading upon new boundaries... always locked away in her gilded room.
And Sekiro, the adopted Japanese child who insists on eating his food with a Katana instead of a knife.
And Dark Souls 2... oh who could forget our dear little Dark Souls 2, the mentally disabled hydro-cephalic child, who dwells in a tranquil reality of his own, in his quiet little corner, painting glorious scenes with his own faeces.
Why can't we just have peace?
i agree except ds3 wasnt polished at all
sekiro is fromsoft most polished game
net coding was good u got that
This, DaS2 and 3 are both disappointing in different ways. I'll never understand how rabid those fanbases are for their respective golden cow.
Except that's wrong, you idiot. Afaik only DS2 was made by B.
why do people pretend that dark souls 1 is the greatest game of all time but dark souls 3 is one of the worst when there are so many things dark souls 3 does better.
>with MP
Fuck yes.
probably because it either doesn't fit in the lore or is unfinished mess
yeah gods grave
also the game was supposed to be way darker, vordt had babyes wrapped around his armor ffs
again, not enough dev time, thats why sekiro felt so fucking polished, they really took their time with it and had no fucking pig publishers pushing them in the back
lets hope they keep it this way, ds3 feels like it could have been so much more
the bonfire sacrifice mechanics too, would have been its unique entry, instead of a compilation of stuff that already happened
again, this jsut goes to prove that tanimura + B team can do great stuff if they have time
Contrarians being contrarians. I will say DSIII falls short, (Road of Sacrifices/Crucifixion Woods, certain bits of lore, characters), but that's not really new to the series at this point. Lost Izalith, copy/pasted capras and tauruses, etc. But it's the furthest thing from trash or Big Rigs.
have sex
yeah I'm happy you'll get it bros
just hate the heavy backlash against sekiro because some just wanted to push the system into it even though it wasnt meant to be there
I'd rather have a successor to Sekiro set in the Bakumatsu/Meiji times, or something that builds up on Sekiro's systems either way, DS has always been mediocre and starting with BB onwards it's clear Miyazaki had enough of putting half baked "rpg" mechanics and strived for more action based systems, which apparently doesn't sit well with most people who prefer their braindead R1 spam.
Still, it's time for a new Armored Core game given how they skipped an entire console generation altogether just to shit out more Souls games, if and when Miyazaki will direct another action RPG matters little at this point, as long as he keeps it in line with DS3/BB I could deal with, though again, I'd still prefer he expands Sekiro's core gameplay instead, it's leagues better.
Is they make it they should leave out optional easy modes like roll rings
BB is just a Dark Souls clone with a new coat of paint though.
Why do people compare demon's souls to dark souls so much. They're not even remotely the same aside from being set in midieval times.
dark souls is just a demon's souls clone with nothing new but worse world/lore though.
There will never be a
Dark Souls 4
Witcher 4
WoW 2
Diablo 4
Metal Gear 6
OTOH
There will always be a new
FIFA
Cow of duty
Assassins crap
Devil may cringe
Fuck this clown world.
B-team dark souls 4 would be the only thing that would interest me. I don't want to see the same shit get rehashed over and over again with some gameplay features and visuals from their previous game
I really want demon's souls 2 or bloodborne 2 but they would be cucky exclusives on a 24fps machine so
sure, bring das4
Right. It’s the same shit. Like another poster said, From should expand on Sekiro or do more Armoured Core games
I just want a Souls game with improved chalice dungeons that take procedural generation to new highs.
If done properly you will never need another Souls game, ever. It will provide veteran players with the increasingly elusive 'souls virgin' experiences, in unlimited supply. Enjoy playing Dark Souls for the first time, over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
I would gladly do it forever, too.
why the fuck would you want a diablo 4 when blizzard can't make games anymore?
just play poe or grimdawn
remember that fifa, call of duty, assassin creed used to be good milking the franchise is exactly what squandered its legacy let the good franchises rest in peace.
>DS3 was a fine send-off
how the fuck can it be a send off when there's still no fucking resolution
>link the fire > nothing happens
>end the fire > it just relights later
>usurp the fire > LUL
>kill firekeeper > be a nigger
A game that came years after does mechanics better
What an insane concept
I wish I knew how this worked
>DS3 was a fine send-off to the Souls universe
>Final DLC literally has no ending
improved/fixed chalices would literally be infinite content for a souls autist like myself
I don't but i'll play it anyways because i'm whiped.
>hotcakes on all the platforms
bloodborne sold a fraction of dark souls3 lol
But Dark Souls saved the industry
Because they want everything every souls game did that was good in one package while also surprising them. It will never happen.
dark souls ended with 2
your point being? its a fucking sequel for christ sake ofcourse it has elements and thing that are similar. do you hate sequels from all gaming franchises?
I guess you are right.
bittersweet
>Tanimura and B team
stop it with this fucking meme, dark souls 2 was made by SHIBUYA and then SALVAGED by tanimura who made it the semi competent game it was
shibuya wanted lucatiel to be literally don quixote while the bell keeper was his funny sidekick sancho panza, in DARK SOULS, think for a second how fucking retarded it would've been
>Dude DaS III is easy muh casual
Man DaS III hate is getting more and more pathetic.
These anons don't understand what they're walking away from. They see one flaw in how chalices were done in Bloodborne, and swore never to see it again.
Tasteless and shortsighted savages they are.
i mean dark souls 2 is already incredibly retarded compared to dark souls so I don't know how much more retarded it could get
Yeah thankfully people move on to new and better things
>how the fuck can it be a send off when there's still no fucking resolution
How can there be a resolution when the theme of the whole fucking series is that it's all a cycle you quadruple nigger?
didnt like sekiro at all
didnt like bloodborne it was a big meh..
without being the 2nd coming of christ the souls saga is perfect as it is at least for me , western setting, western fantasy , and more important western armors , wish they retake or rename the saga but keep said components in other games
Fuck you, Armored Core is next
Dark Souls game but make it cross-platform so we can all be happy
Fucking this, goddamn. I would've killed for randomly generated dungeons in DSIII, let alone Bloodborne.
>The burning cause of this friction
BB being an exclusive after DaS II was train wreck. This in turn echoed out into DaS III hatred because people enjoyed the salt the DaS II/ BB event chain caused.
If BB had been made multiplat at least two years ago it would be this bad.
Age of Deep.
Deep Souls.
Or a Bloodborne set in Pthumeru, Loran, or Isz.
Armoured Core is gay.
I agree with this.
If the series returned to slow, patient and weighty combat I would look forward to it. Almost as an antidote to Sekiro
>That mouth
GodDAMN that is neat.
procedurally generated content is never very good, pretty soon your brain starts to recognize the individual blocks used to build the levels and then it's not "infinite" content, but rather "the same 30 basic blocks repeated forever".
The only way to make the chalice dungeons interesting would be to turn them into a pure roguelike, where you have to use the weapons you find and when you die you start from zero, but that's not FROM's style.
How is that any more silly than the Onion Knight on Dark Souls 1?
I'm not opposed to the idea of procedural souls content in the vein of chalice dungeons, assuming it's done well.
But Chalice Dungeons certainly had more than one flaw, and anyone could see that at a glance.
Here's a few of them:
>Extremely dull and repetitive interior environments
>Extremely annoying enemy variations and re-spawning mechanics
>lazy/cheap/tedious bosses like the maneater boar, merciless watchers or the defiled bosses.
The problem with Chalice Dungeons was never the idea of them, but rather the pitiful execution.
>Extremely dull and repetitive interior environments
If you mean that they needed more tilesets, yeah I agree, if you think they just look bad and bland well then you're wrong
>Extremely annoying enemy variations and re-spawning mechanics
Nothing wrong with there being hard areas or enemies in the chalices
People are save editing to make them even harder for a reason
>lazy/cheap/tedious bosses like the maneater boar, merciless watchers or the defiled bosses.
Regular enemy bosses should have been replaced with bosses from the normal game
Fuck lorefags
Truly based.
FROM should just bite the bullet and make a procedural dungeon crawler. It would satisfy the buildfags until the end of time. Miyazaki can keep making his focused experiences on the side, no harm no foul.
I don't want Dark Souls 4. It's going to be more of the exact same stuff we've seen before with little to no changes in gameplay. Assuming it's left similar to what DS3 was, it's going to be a rolling simulator AGAIN. There is only so much MYSTERIOUS LORE I'm interested in putting together, there are only so many knight boss duels I'm willing to have before I just get bored of copy/paste things.
It doesn't help to know Miyazaki was fucking done with Dark Souls after the first one. The rest were all, literally, contractual obligation games born from a deal with Bamco. Why have more? I'm sure the pvp/co-op autists would wet their panties, but I can't see the appeal of more Dark Souls at this point.
>shibuya wanted lucatiel to be literally don quixote while the bell keeper was his funny sidekick sancho panza
>in DARK SOULS
Ohhh, but Bjorr, Siegmeyer or Solaire's stupid antics are nice, aren't they?
I guess it's fine when DS1 does it.
>judging a game on whether it resolved your favourite youtube fanfic
Vaati is non-canon.
At least half of his musings are based on DS2 and aldia's bullshit.
DS2 is pretty much half-canon, it can be easily interpreted as simply a different culture's take on fire mythos (consistently with the entire lore trying to evoke the feeling of real myth, i.e., partially lost and told by inconsistent sources).
The problem here is that From would inevitably be criticised for making their games too easy.
Their name has become almost synonymous with the expectation of difficulty now. And anyone who's been playing since at the very least, dark souls, or Bloodborne, is going to expect a game that challenges them, even considering their muscle memory and understanding of Souls-like mechanics.
This unfortunately includes games media, who would probably enjoy docking From Soft arbitrary points for decreasing the challenge of the game. And that would probably lead to a decrease in sales as well.
I presume From Soft probably feel pressured to make their games as difficult as they can nowadays. If at the very least, to appease a fanbase who seem very inclined to spew vitriol at any game from soft pumps out that threatens the relevance of their particular favourite souls-like game.
>Final DLC literally has no ending
The entire dlc to 3 is a meta-commentary on how Fromsoft is sick of making dark souls games.
No thanks
>Regular enemy bosses should have been replaced with bosses from the normal game
This, there's so many bosses I just kill myself near the end of the battle to fight again instead. Maria and OoK come to mind
Not even a little.
I'd rather fromsoft made a game based on the fingol experience.
Mechas are slow and boring. Go ask Sega for a game like that.
>Dude he's DONE
>Proceeds to make BB
Just because one has a Victorian coat of paint doesn't mean its fundamentally a different game. You could argue that he's sick of doing medieval shit, but even BB taps into that sort of bullshit with many of its weapons and enemies.
Dark souls style everything with tri direction blocking/parrying amalgamation of for honor and sekiro
Oh fuck I haven't seen that pic in years.
>This, there's so many bosses I just kill myself near the end of the battle to fight again instead
This is basically the videogame equivalent of edging
Solaire and Siegmeyer are great, what are your issues with them?
I do not see a mouth.
And even then sometimes they turn out better than some locations in DaS3, just look at the catacombs of Carthus, the place where you find the demon mages or whatever they are, those places feel dull.
Idk I'm still salty because I wanted a full return to a properly designed Izalith and didn't get it.
>I want everything rehashed to death
>buddhist themes
>wants a resolution
>how much do you WANT Dark Souls 4?
although it might be my favourite series
i dont want darksouls 4
i still havent played skeiro but it seems to be a really good games
i just want them to make more new games rather than do the same thing forever
Only way to properly do proc gen content in a souls game is as an NG+ mixup of the regular game world.
Swap enemy/item placements around, and have different status effects applied to the world and enemies either randomly or depending on the ending you chose.
>choose the dark ending
>entire game is dark/black sky in NG+
>all enemies/bosses now have abyssal/dark powers and attacks
You could do some fun stuff too with the dreg heap concept, completely fuck with the world/level order and have random levels connnecting to each other where it makes no sense like dark souls 2.
Imagine the Dark Souls 3 dungeon names
>Depth 4 Defiled Jugo
>Depth 2 Lower Carim
>Depth 5 Great Mirrah Root
>Depth 3 Fetid Forossa
>Or a Bloodborne set in Pthumeru, Loran, or Isz.
An entire game in Isz and Loran would be visual sex.
