You have to read all the ones before 2k series and read them their earliest archived forms (this avoids edits done by trannies who might have been triggered by something in the old story).
The only way SCP can be saved at this point is someone seizing control, purging everyone and replacing everyone with people who aren't mentally ill trannies. SCP alternatives keep failing because nobody cares about them and early SCPs are better than whatever they have.

It was originally one of the best SCPs on the site, basically 087 but with body snatchers, eldritch horror, and some neat ideas about how SCP used different MTF specialists, including one that was deaf and blind.
Then the original writer went full autism and threatened to delete it because they didn't like it anymore, so the scp reddit writers came together to "rewrite" it. Everything that made the original entry creepy was replaced with fan fiction shit about foxes and fire because "lol its a firewatch lookout", the body snatchers were relegated to a b-plot, the deaf and blind MTF became a Mary Sue because she was "the one" or some shit, just so much more forced exposition in the exploration logs when the original basically had none.

/x/ spearheaded the creepy pasta trend but it then got really popular. Scary stories attract children so creepy pasta became infantile with things like the creepy pasta wikis being saturated with poorly written stories and slash fiction of developing teenaged girls.
/x/ wanted to distance itself from creepy pasta at that point and so they came up with this idea that there would be this secret international organization dedicated to securing, containing and protecting supernatural phenomenon; like how Indiana Jones the Lost Arc implies with its closing sequence where the arc is shown being stored in a massive warehouse of presumably supernatural artifacts.

They made a wiki that was thematically designed to be like some sort of glitched archival system for the organization that you, the viewer, have accidentally been given access to. Each article was presented in a format describing its containment procedures, description and related logs of events related to it.
For a time it was an entertaining website full of great horror concepts but eventually /x/ got bored (also /x/ was getting killed by Yea Forums raids which is why /x/ is now dead) and the website was handed around to various faggots, friends of said faggots and so on. Eventually some mentally ill retards took control of it and opened the flood gates to reddit and children which resulted in much of the same tarnishing general Creepypasta recived prior but with an extra social justice flare.

Now all the old articles are ignored or edited of content considered offensive and bad OC inserts are the top most voted entries.

I read through the Wayward Society site recently, it's basically MiB meets Gravity Falls. Nothing amazing yet, it's still pretty new, but it's refreshing to see an SCP-like wiki that doesn't do the same old "cold and calculating scientists write research papers about apocalyptic beach balls" thing a lot of the other knock-offs have done.

decommission logs used to be a pretty fun way for the writers to remove stupid OC's, but then the started ballooning so much that the writers doing the decommissions became the stupid OC's
