NIGGERS!!!!!

Now that I have your attention what are some first or third person games that feel like they take place in a fleshed out world where people live e.g.
Darkness Within, Barrow Hill, The Lost Crown, Gray Matter, The Last Express, Dark Fall; Silent Hill 3 has some great attention to detail but there is too much action for what I'm currently looking for

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

The Max Payne series
E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy

>On rails running simulator
>Max Payne
To me it felt more like moving from one set peice to another
>E.Y.E
While I love it it didn't feel like a fully fleshed out world to me

Loved this game. Very long. Extremely good atmosphere, world building and story. So much hidden stuff and little secret areas. It is kind of a walking simulator but with game play and puzzles and you can die. Very unique experience.

I plan on playing that in a few hours

The Darkness and Escape From Butcher Bay always gave that feel to me. Old Starbreeze really was something special.

what is it about prerendered scenery that feels very atmospheric, especially in a horror setting?

Consistant style?
I know what you mean but also don't know how to word it

Alan Wake but the gameplay felt too linear

Trails in the Sky.

Amber: Journeys Beyond?

Also, remembered a very obscure title, that probably fits your request, but almost certainly not in a way you could currently imagine it to. Biosys. It's an absolutely unique survivalsimulation/Myst-like hybrid taking place at a somewhat fictionalized version of Biosphere2 (google it).

Also, remembered another non-obvious game. Although it isn't in first person perspective. Still, I encourage you to at least give it a look. Bad Mojo.

The first location of Sublustrum/Outcry, and the entirety of 1951: KGB Unleashed (they were made by the same team).

There was a spy Myst-like game taking place at a museum (you are supposed to rob), called Traitor's Gate. I haven't played it though.

>what are some first OR THIRD PERSON GAMES

OH
Midnight Nowhere (drop the game immediately after exiting the clinic and getting onto the street).

By the way, you did play Going Home and Everybody's Gone to Rapture, right?

It's over lads....

Yup, Resi is just as dead as Silent Hill but what does that have to do with this topic?
