Like a lot of early access games like Kenshi:

The people who invested in it are probably dead or not interested anymore

Decent game framework buried under scope creep and a bizarre unwillingness to release anything not completely finished into a fucking early access title

Four years since animations were announced and like seven since NPCs and vehicles only got done because they were literally outsourced to a contractor team

Ironically the vehicles are the most polished thing in the game

Has potential but will never get completed

this.

Plus the game's main assures you that you will die so it doesn't make me want to play.

Aren't they literally lifted from a mod and poorly at that?

Development hell

all they have to do is make it so the horrible nausea inducing fog of war can be toggled off, and the game would be a solid 10/10 from me

or for someone to release a mod for it, which no one seems like they want to do

i don't want to be able to see zombies, just the world without the constant blackness and fucked up light levels, think like Dead State or something, you only saw zombies by your line of sight, but the world was completely visible

otherwise the devs refuse to leave early access and are pretty hostile to cricitism on the forums, hiding behind a tiny personal army that shits on people for critiquing the game, but thats nothing new

the longer it takes to release, the older and shittier it looks, it has some really interesting fucking features you don't see in zombie games normally, like water and electricity being turned off after a few weeks into the game start, but its filled with bullshit like zombies respawning and migrating to your home even if its in the middle of nowhere with no light or noise etc

plus the multiplayer is very shitty

like all sandbox survival games - once you get over the initial hump its a walk in the park with nothing to do

>Plus the game's main assures you that you will die so it doesn't make me want to play
That's from the tutorial sequence though and you can create any kind of autism rpg self insert you want

when you start a new game the game pretty much tells you "this is the story about how you died"

not a problem for me personally, not everything needs a story, but the issue is there's nothing to really strive for in the game after the initial homestead part

>bullshit like zombies respawning
This is trivial to disable user its the very first thing I did. Everything else about this game is fucked but that part is mercifully configurable.

>there's nothing to really strive for in the game after the initial homestead part
That much I get, there's a pathetic amount of real content.

You are gonna die, why bother living then?

lost source code/10

didn't kenshi leave early access?

After how many years

Played the tech demo in 2011 while in Uni. Today I have a house, wife, two kids and a third on the way. And the game hasn't been fucking released.
Fucking early access.

Looks like a more dull version of CDDA

I stopped giving a shit when the mods were coming out faster than the actual game content, then to top it off they supported a mentally tranny con man that ended up killing himself.

he's already making a sequel..

6 or something retarded like that I think

>two kids and a third on the way
OH NO NO NO NO NO

Cataclysm is better

games like this suck when they wallow in early access, because a less "advanced" game will always come along and be way more popular and accessible and practically render all the devs effort pointless in the end

shit like dayz and exanima are other examples of this in action, its frustrating when its a game you actually really like (in my case, exanima)

Playing video games with your kids is a great joy, user. Though, I make sure the little time suckers also do sports (unlike me who was a fat fuck until mid twenties).

you fucking manchild cuck

>migrating to your home even if its in the middle of nowhere with no light or noise etc

This is pretty bullshit. The damage system is also messed up, a broken foot is essentially a game over since it needs a full in-game month to heal.

This, name five games where you can be a hentai monster driving a death mobile, while on enough drugs to kill an elephant.

Did they ever introduce NPCs into the game?

Boring as shit, cataclysm the way better zombie survival sandbox

Boring.

Or a cybernetic crack head in a gimp suit that has studied the blade and can face tank hulks while a raven that lands on the minefield 40 map tiles away and behind a office building kills you instantly

it was fun for a bit with my pals.
capped it off with some god mode shenanigans

The game looked and played much better before the major graphical and combat overhaul. Haven't played since then.

I was interested in the game and I thought it was good for a while, but it pretty much required mods. At the end of the day it was just tedious, and there wasn’t really any point to continue playing it once you got reasonably good.

This. I don't even play this game anymore and i almost died twice during the development process.

>almost died twice
Sekiro?

This entire game can be described like this. No threat, no goal, no content. Games like 7 days to die or cataclysm are much better. 7dtd has actualy dangerous enemies who attack your base every few days. Cataclysm is just great over all. In zomboid, you loot some buildings, baricade a house and die to some stupid shit because you got bored of sitting in your fort for months and no zombie even bothered attacking you.

This year I had a car accident

left EA but never finished

it's a buggy mess with shit pathfinding and empty world, 98% of the NPC's are useless

I wouldn't be surprised.
But it works very well as far as I've seen, even though it has been a while since i played.

>7 days to die
yeah naw, not ever since the devs decided their game should be a voxel fallout 4 ripoff on unity

Wait, what?

why the fuck is there always a thread made by someone about the obscure/dead game i started playing again? shit's uncanny.
game's one of the more enjoyable zombie apocalypse games but development is borderline fucking dead unfortunately.

When I was 13 this game was already on early access
I'm about to turn 19 next month and it still is on early access

>then to top it off they supported a mentally tranny con man that ended up killing himself.

lol, what?

>no goal
Nothing wrong with it

what does that have to do with fallout 4?

Yeah. 7dtd is going in some questionable directions. I liked older versions much more than what we have now, but I'd still say it is more entertaining than zomboid.
Nothing wrong with game having no real goal to win the game. The thing is, you can't really make any goals your self unless you really unleash your inner autist. Want to get good loot? There are like ten different weapons in the game and getting them takes no time. No armor, no clothing variety. Want to make large base? Hope you enjoy one "block" type and spending hours getting materials to build something you will never really use anyway. Want to level up your character? There is not enough ammo in the entire map to level you shooting skill. And other skills are pretty much pointles to level. Zombies are slow and weak, so combat skills are not really necesary. Cooking is useless. This goes for all other skills too except maybe carpentery and metalworking.

Your overall goal is to survive. You can loot like ten houses and get enough food to last you for weeks. You baricade your house and end up sitting on your ass because there is nothing worth working towards. And fixing these problems is so easy.

Well it is meant to be very realistic. One month is pretty forgiving, it can take months for a foot to heal.

>spend 30 minutes stockpiling food
>nothing to do except sit in my base for 5 hours or go to something retarded that will get me killed

It used to be on desura of all places kek.
Now that I think about it it is a really old game

It gets a pretty huge update pretty much every month

How are you getting injuries from anything other than zombies and the occasional cut from broken glass if you have to make a quick escape?
