why torture yourself with retarded strangers for internet ELO?
probably the best esport to watch atm
>Competitive Overwach
Post your face when
Who actually is this guy? I've seen so many fake subs of that interview and never knew who he was/what he was actually talking about
Never watched it, I imagine it's a fucking joke with how they've had shit like Zarya be broken as fuck for literally years now without being touched.
Blizzard viewbots, along with tricking goys into leaving the stream up for hat tokens. Overwatch is not a spectator game in the slightest
No one I know that started playing at the start wants to play that game since its so stale.
Pic related was the "meta" for last season. You cannot tell me that there were 100k+ people interested in watching a bunch of teams play mirror matches with the same 6 heroes.
Overwatch is just CS:GO for ADHD zoomers.
Change my mind.
its :ok_hand:
this has been the meta for almost a year and before that there was the dive comp meta that lasted more than a year. meanwhile a game like league of legends as shitty as it may be changes the meta very often thanks to regular updates
The definition of "unholy abomination"
rather staple my nutsack to my forehead and go bungee jumping
>mfw ashe
What the fuck were they thinking? She has literally no upsides because her reloading time is fucked.
Aren't they going all in with the geolocation shit? With players playing in their respective cities?
Why needlessly add jet lag and visa issues? Why are we pretending that geolocation isn't just a hold over a time before the internet and live broadcasts? This isn't like physical sports where teams need their own field to practice on.
Why is blizzard so fucking bad at running an esport?
But think of all those fans who are going to cheer for players who don't even speak their language!
>Why is blizzard so fucking bad
Could've just ended it there
god i fucking hate blizzard, how can you not be able to balance 29 heroes?
Anything where the action is not all on one screen is shit for spectating
I can't since you were proven right right after your post.
>years
> they put a cap on how much charge you get from a single bubble
>reduced the effective grav range by like 2 meters
>affected how much splash range her alternate fire gets
>change how her charge decays
>changed how armor is affected by every damage type
She's been changed quite a couple times. Not as much as mercy or brig but it still happened
>banning players left and right for the tiniest things that might offend someone somewhere in the world
>shitty game design; already non-conductive for an esport
>awful meta
>so much shit plastered on the screen at any time; good luck trying to understand anything that's happening if you don't play the game
>fan participation is so forced
>viewbots, clear that their top viewing spots were bought out
it's reddit's esport, alright.
based
Does anyone actually watch that?
...
>good mobility and can push away enemies like an ulting gengoo
>Bob is a 7th man and can contest, body block and kill
>dynamite can be detonated behind shields
Complete joke, helped to swiftly kill many people's interest in the game
Literally fucking useless because outside of her abilities she's the equivalent of a cripple.
>put it on a channel for boomers during school hours
Well at least those stuck in retirement homes will have a good nap
haven't played it in a year. Had potential. Anyway, the game should have been f2p.
Anyway, I really don't give a shit on competitive gaming. I rarely like any gamers. When I use to play OW, I kept coming across the most salty-est players. The whole community is toxic af.
My sister and her bf actually follow the league. They even went to go see the finals. They still play it today and now that they're having a kid, pretty sure that kid's first words will be "nerf this!".
Its an unfun shitshow that forces you to play meta characters if you want to climb after Diamond, and if you're a DPS player and you don't enjoy playing Tracer/Genji/Soldier/Widowmaker/Ashe/McCree, you have to fill as Tank or Healer, since non-standard, damage-dealing noobstompers like Junkrat, Torb, Sym, Bastion, and Mei will never EVER be buffed to actually compete with the aforementioned damage dealers.
Almost every hero they have added since launch aside from Baptiste and Moira have some form of stun or crowd control that takes control out of your hands, which is not fun to play against. At a certain skill level, characters like Widowmaker become actually uncounterable by ANY hero other than a better Widowmaker, since you can run a "protect the president" comp that has the mobility and shields to both protect the Widow and keep your team from pushing onto the point.
Smurfs are in every single competitive game and make the entire purpose of an MMR system irrelevant, since you can just pay money to play out of your real ELO and stomp people that are worse than you are and swing the scales in the direction of whichever team has the higher ranked smurf.
Combos like Dragonstrike + Grav were too good/meta defining and thus nerfed, but Nanoblade has been overpowered for 12 seasons now and has only been nerfed by the removal of the Nano speed boost.
Genji is too good of a character and if the Genji player is skilled enough to abuse this fact, it requires you to run a Brig in order to not get steamrolled by him.
I haven't had a fun time playing this game since Doomfist was added.
t. mid-Masters Junkrat main that plays comp literally every day.
Everybody plays the same meta for the entire season, so many fucking mirror matches. There are like one or two interesting teams, the rest are just boring or straight up bad. I gave it some time but I still don't like the franchise/team structure. It comes off as having no soul. Even low budget FGC weeklies are more hype, not to mention the commentary actually being fun and knowing their shit. The commentary for OWL has been lackluster. Some of them don't even sound like they've played the game, they have no idea what to look for or what to comment on. Others are more competent but still boring. No doubt someone is whispering in their ear to not display too much personality or risk being offensive.
>competitive overwatch
Because they're trying to get city based franchises to draw in viewers. Of course if you're bothered at all that your local team is actually 100% Korean you must be racist. They want you to care so much about where the team is based that you'll tune in to watch and show up for games but then also give no fucks whatsoever about where the players are from to the point that none of them even speak your language or interact with the fans.
After winning OWL the first thing London Spitfire's all Korean team did was go to Korea to celebrate and relax, basically not bothering to communicate with English speaking fans at all. It's all a fucking joke.
Blizzard is known for making a lot of changes that don't matter while letting obvious problems fester. That's how you get a yearlong moth meta.
>Competitive
>Video game
>viewership of dinosaur media where e-sports gets wedged between regular programming once in a blue moon
Yeah I'm sure that'll translate to actual fans who'll keep watching.
It's hella boring
Just watching the 6 same heroes duke it out. Watching overwatch in general is boring to watch
I wonder how many are token farmers and embedded streams. For all this viewership the match threads sure are dead.
>I rarely like any gamers. When I use to play OW, I kept coming across the most salty-est players. The whole community is toxic af.
How are you even on Yea Forums?
>Competitive Q pressing
It has nothing to do with that. Quake has like 4 guns and 10 maps and it's way more exciting to watch than OW.
The only reason I liked play competitive during season 4 was because I treated it like a chatroom at 2-6 AM while moving around with lucio/mercy, you did it blizzard you made a game with characters that felt nice to move around with and interacting with other humans carried it this far
Maybe it's better to say
It's just the same strategies
Zayra + Dragon cucks
It's the same play every time
It's great when the OW casters shout like apes whenever anyone presses Q. Trying to build hype in a hypeless game is pathetic
It's like a hotdog eating contest, except all the hotdogs are turds!
t.retard
what is marketing
yeah i'm sure those londoners are going to be super thrilled to cheer for a team of sameface slants
From what I remember he's just talking about some job he had on a beach restaurant where he cocked everything up and got fired
The story itself is kinda funny but he tells it real well
OWL in blogpost
>forced paid league, diffirent from quake or counterStrike championships
>spend milions to convince people thats a big e-sport instead of having a game that naturaly brings millions of people to play it like quake arena or fighting games
>if you want to enter, you must spend millions for slot
>team is OWL have Newy York, dallas etc names, yet they're mostly koreans
>there's no team without a single korean, yet most teams have trouble having more than 1-2 non-koreans
>nearly 50% of OWL players are from Seul
>3/4 of teams rosters are korean kids bought from 'esports farms"
>those farms train young koreans in specific games, like starcraft, overwatch, lol etc and many others. After this they're sold to esports teams
>nearly all koreans in OWl use same, tauch mechanic skills, visible in how they make use of controller space etc or how they "throw" computer mice to turn around
>most of OWL viewers do it for free points, Those points can be only spend on skins
>without those free points, overwatch have very little viewers compared to how blizzarit
>people present in the studio, cheering for teams are either paid to do so or forced to obey rules aka fake crowd
and final
>they forbid "ok" symbol because hacker known as Yea Forums tricked them into thinking thats white supremacist symbol
in short, OWL is just blizzard dreamland. Its a gigantic Statue of Liberty made of shit. impressive work of architekture, but still its steaming, smelly shit. And they pay people to think that gigantic pile of shit is a good thing
I can't think of a more terrible FPS to watch desu
This. WHY IS EVERYONE KOREAN. What the fuck is going on? I'm struggling to find sense in blizzard's decision making
Those guns don't invalidate each other and limit the emergent gameplay possible. OW is all about stacking the odds in your favour instead of engaging in a fair fight. Both teams are always looking for the most optimally broken team composition that will render any other strategy irrelevant, and they succeed all the time. It's like watching two people try out aimbot each other.
I miss playing Reaper and Ana and it feeling good. I haven’t played since season 2 comp.
Here's your English team bro
>Genji is too good of a character and if the Genji player is skilled enough to abuse this fact, it requires you to run a Brig in order to not get steamrolled by him.
Absolute truth. If the Genji is skilled and you don't dedicate at least two characters to keep an eye on him / keep him in check, he will absolutely demolish your team.
What I absolutely hate about the playerbase is that everyone takes a "i don't want to deal with it, someone else will deal with it" attitude when they are getting shitcanned by someone like Genji, Tracer or Widow. They'll watch these characters get kill after kill on their killfeed but almost no one wants to bother switching because they don't want to feel like they were FORCED to stop playing what they want to. Everyone will say "Someone do something about X" but no one will actually do anything about it. Because everyone has this attitude, very few actually the experience or skill necessary to pick and utilize those counters effectively. I've seen this as far as high Diamond/Early Masters. Very annoying.
Korean farms
Why would you get those " gods" who can think, have demands, expectations etc when you can get a cheap (compared to other peoples) roster of koreans who obey your commands. One of the teams have streamer in their ranks and have a problem because he's too vocal about some shit
Also funfact, last league winner, London spitfire, just shit at UK, they ignored celebration in london and most of them never actually went to london, depsite being a part of a fucking London City team
korea sorta just chose this game to be one of the ones they focus on. it's not blizzard's decision, but they should have separated the league into regions (NA, EU, LATAM, etc.) and force teams to consists of said region's players with like 1 maybe 2 allowed from another region
They'll never nerf him, either, since he's the most popular character on the roster.
>>nearly all koreans in OWl use same, tauch mechanic skills, visible in how they make use of controller space etc or how they "throw" computer mice to turn around
what does this even mean?
Don't be racist, user. Don't you know that in American sports it's perfectly normal to have franchised teams with zero local talent? Clearly it's just wrong to care about where players are from, but don't forget to root for your home team! Isn't it hype that all those different cities are represented in OWL?
who is this chad
chung sun un yen
Ever since BW and then SC2 Korean have had an affinity for Blizzard games. It has to do with the PC culture there too, whereas most other Asian countries are about consoles. The main competitive games in those other countries are fightan.
its actually worse when you are the only one who tries to deal with it.
>Switch from rein to monkey because we are getting absolutely decimated by a widow
>"dude stop throwing we need a rein for this comp to work"
I just dont know what to do in these situations
because literally everything is random
They just want you to enable them while they keep playing like selfish idiots. Blizzard has completely failed to incentivize team play over being a jack ass one trick pony.
I don't think it'll be long before the game goes F2P just to boost viewership.
>flooding the game with children and brazilians
Blizzard is so dumb I can see this happening
I usually post on the threads that are chilled.
you're deluding yourself if you think they're not already spending their money on it and it's going to make them even more money. Why does business bother you so much?
