Best boss of the game is the final boss

>best boss of the game is the final boss
Wish more games got this right. Died 50 times to this guy and still enjoyed every single one, he never felt cheap (with a small exception for the times where he decides to just not stagger even though he usually does).

Isshin is cheap though, Owl 2 is honest

everything he does is telegraphed and honest as fuck

the only thing i feel that is really fast and hard to react to on your first try is when he jumps back and swings the spear at you (but once you get hit a few times you'll remember)

I made a no hit run for both, but Owl is probably even better than Isshin.

youtube.com/watch?v=nzYFB5PWon4&

he isnt. he literally tells you how to kill him every time you fail with the "hesitation is defeat" line. people get intimidated by the spear phase when they actually just need to go and engage with him close range instead of keeping distance.

Why the fuck does he have a spear and gun

I'll up you by one
I died to genichiro 4 times in a row for no apparent reason and then killed genichi and isshin in one fell swoop with no hits in about 2 minutes of nonstop perfects
every ng+ i've done (i'm on ng+4), i die to genichiro once or twice and then oneshot the fight now.
i'm a special kind of autism.

It's a shame he loses that *teleports in front of u* move after he pulled out his spear.

sometimes you just need to shoot someone in the face

I wish mikiri counter had a tighter window. too easy to pull off.

Being the sword saint doesn't stop him from also being the pistol patron and the spear sensei.

True, too bad his final phase it too easy
But first phase is pure swordfighting kino

Attached: Sekiro 2019.03.30 - 01.42.32.05.DVR.webm (700x394, 2.8M)

wish this worthless piece of shit game game got ng+ right

What is this from? Looks fun.

netflix' live action bleach movie

I wish it was way tighter and the symbol only appeared when you can actually do it. Genichiro has the most blatant stab where the symbol appears half a second or more before you can actually do it, and will make you eat a katana to the face if you don't know about it.

Would be bother harder and more fair. Also get rid of the symbol and add a red outline to enemies instead, would help determine if it's a stab or a sweep that is coming, especially when animations are far from clear and often muddied by various shit in the way (again, final boss is a good example, can't see shit happening below the waist).

i suck at it and i dont know why. its easy as fuck on the trainer guy and the basic spear enemies but on others i somehow just dont "feel" it

>letting him fully charge the draw
mark of a brainlet

theres a mod that removes the symbol and only a sound plays. imo it's a huge improvement because you can actually see the target instead of that fuckhuge symbol blocking your view.

I dominate the sword fight but he fucks me up with the spear

I've fought him like 10 times only managed to get to his second phase once, do I even have a chance?

Attached: 1329060594781.jpg (264x286, 36K)

Can't argue with that user, since then I learned that high monking his sweep is superior

Yes.

Because he is the sword saint

Because a true warrior knows you should be autistic about which weapons you use.

because fuck you thats why

>10 times
That's nothing, don't worry about it.

Yeah, why not? The game is hard, but you have already gotten this far. You have what it takes, just keep at it. I believe in you

>Killed him first try on NG+

Feels good.

But to be fair I still have to play a run with Kuro's charm off.

>try to beat Great Shinobi Owl for 3 hours
>fuck this I need to sleep
>Wake up, win 2nd try

Feels good. He's the only boss in the entire game so far that I had to do more than like 5 attempts for

The spear is likely from the General guy he kills in the opening cinematic. General Mamura or whatever.

is everyone talking about some sort of real endboss other then the fight against Genechiro and then Isshin? I read everywhere how hard that was supposed to be and I beat him at the fifth try. I don't consider myself a good souls player, but I felt like Sekiro was a lot easier then any Souls game before. After all the threads about it I get the feeling that basicly everyone cheesed everything in the other games and have problems now, because that is not an option anymore

This happened to me on every boss I got stuck.
Sometimes you take a while to actually learn.

I feel like that's by design. He gives you the framework of how the counter works, but every real enemy will be slightly different. So you learn how to do it, and new enemies make you learn further by adapting.

isshin is a plain skill check yeah. if you abused firecrackers and other lame shit over the course of the game you'll get punished.

Not true

his draw is one of the best attacks to bait out, can dash behind him after he swings to get an easy 2-3 hits in

He's hard, beating him once doesn't really tell you anything

Personally allways responded to the sound queue quicker than the Kanji.

I never used firecrackers until I got to isshin. blue firecrackers while he's coming at you with his spear catches him every time.

>some random boring looking guy as final boss
No thanks

Attached: 1520676379753.jpg (693x693, 138K)

He still has it, its just very rare

what?

Attached: 1500485518794.jpg (337x367, 34K)

He took me 3 hours on my first game, now I can beat him first try anytime. You can do it.

Exactly what I said, you could luck out with his patterns or just have an exceptionally good run
People who actually replay the games will tell you that Sekiro is far harder than any Souls game

Because samurai used spears and guns mong

>Owl 2 is honest
>honest
Back to your containment general /fgg/

I tried for hours for 3-4 days and just beat him yesterday after perfecting the first 2 phases. You can do it, user.

I guess you're right, beating a boss basicly tells you nothing about how hard it is to beat the boss. I am so silly sometimes

progress in these things doesn't come gradually my dude, it comes in leaps. Sleep on it once and you'll never die before phase 2 again.

How did you guys managed to beat this deadly alliance between seven spears and random samurai guy on your first playthrough? I just managed to beat them in an honest manner after like 5 attemps. Keep in mind that if you used gachiin's sugar, some ninjutsu shit, or just cheesed the fight with firecrackers you're a fag.

Attached: shume_masaji_oniwa.jpg (960x540, 72K)

I'm not the person youre replying to but he's right. How well you do against a boss varies, and you stop trying once you beat him once.

In reality, you go from 0% winrate vs him to a nonzero % winrate against him, but even if you reset the count right there, its still not 100%, you still wont kill him every try. IT might be 50%, it might be 20%, it might be 70%. It's hard to know without actually seeing you fight him. It is possible you got lucky and he did the patterns you're best at, or maybe you just got really good at him.

It's hard to differentiate perilous thrust and sweeps in the tall grass.

>Given abilities
>You're a fag if you use them

Eat shit. I used the possession jutsu and whooped Seven Spear's ass while my dude drew aggro.

>that one guy who has to state in every thread that he beat x in one or a few tries
>a claim that is impossible to verify doubly so on an anonymous imageboard
I beat Isshin without items, prosthetics, or any skills (yes, I removed the gourds too), you don't see me come into every thread pretending to be amazed that people are having a hard time against a boss I pinky swear had no idea was hard because he was so easy for me. I also realize my win could very well have been a fluke and it would have taken me another 20 tries had I mistimed a single click.

Attached: 1483631715350.jpg (437x471, 26K)

>played without sugar/ninjitsu/any cheese NG
>so i can cheese shit out NG+
Feels great to be alive.

You're not a shinobi.

I can beat isshin easily with just shuriken. but these 2 faggots. fuck em. I use EVERY single cheese trash tech in my arsenal against them.

Being the sword saint he has learned the absolute truths of the sword. Gun beats sword.

I just gachiin sugar deathblowed the samurai and fought seven spears normally because I'm not an insecure fag

i used one of the fires to separate them, just run around until the spear guy is on one side and the samurai is attacking you. attack the samurai a bit, reset the positions and do this until the samurai is dead. was a pretty shit fight desu, i hate having to cheese like this but it was the only miniboss in the game that i felt actually required it

I used blood smoke ninjutsu on the guy sitting to the left of the stairs to kill the normal samurai. I have no issues cheesing the game to avoid fighting multiple enemies because it fucking sucks to do so.

>no path of hardship
yawn

Backstab samurai then fight Seven spear 1v1.

His draw is great because it gives you a chance to recover your posture while his doesn't. Also parrying it does hueg posture damage.

>waste skill points raising attack power twice
>need 12 more points to get all the skills
It takes so long to get points now fuck I'm retarded

Attached: 20190410052839_1.jpg (1920x1080, 319K)

He didn't feel that great to me desu. He was a huge pain in the ass and a grind to get done. I do enjoy challenging final bosses, but this guy was straight up frustrating and boring to beat due to how repetitive the strategy was in his second and third phase. First one felt great, but afterwards it went downhill.

There's a minor NPC lying down to the left. I used the puppet skill to make him distract the Seven Spears while I went savagely against the samurai. I turned him too into a puppet and he managed to take away 1/4 of the shitty miniboss' healthbar. If the two are following you, then you must slowly hit the samurai when it's safe and use him as a puppet.

I didn't know this skill worked like this. Very nice

Attached: 20190404155028_1-1.jpg (2560x1440, 485K)

this has been really true for me too. after putting the game down for the night and revisiting it the next day I blow through bosses I was stuck on and wonder how I ever had trouble in the first place

I've had more trouble with True Corrupted Monk and Demon of Hatred than with him.
Might be since the game throw many human sized mid boss to train me.
Very fun fight, love how straightforward the fight is, difficult but fair.
Fuck the dual wielding red interior ministers and white monkey though.
Especially the slow moving one with hyper armor.

Im gonna be honest, i don't enjoy this much difficulty. At some point i just get bored. Also the game didn't have enough expliration to my liking.

best boss coming through

I beat him on NG+ yesterday without the charm. FUCK ISSHIN ASHINA HE IS A PIECE OF SHIT AND HIS ARENA IS A JOKE. OH YOU ARE GETTING IN HIS FACE HE WILL BACK UP TO THIS CLIFF AND WHEN YOU JUMP HIS SWEEP HE WILL GO UNDERNEATH YOU AND CLIP YOU OFF THE EDGE. HE HAS HIS SPEAR? NOW HE WILL BACK UP AGAINST A CLIFF AND SPAM HIS BACKSTEP SWEEP MOVE OR BETTER YET HE WILL START HIS RUNNING ANIMATION AND LITERALLY GLITCH OUT AND JUST SPRINT AROUND THE MAP LIKE A CRAZY MAN. OH AND ALSO WHEN HE PULLS HIS SPEAR OUT LITERALLY EVERY HIT STAGGERS YOU.

CAN ANYBODY CONFIRM FOR ME THAT AN EARLY DEFLECT AKA A BLOCK WITHOUT THE CHARM WILL ALLOW STAGGERING MOVES TO STILL STAGGER YOU

ALSO FUCK ISSHIN ASHINA

>game set in feudal Japan
>final boss is Oda Nobunaga

Attached: 1554219860659.jpg (480x426, 17K)

puppetteer ninjutsu and made the fight a 2 on 1, you have to watch out for friendly fire though

I love feeding her persimmons to watch her touch her cheeks in delight.
I gave her all my persimmons, including Taro's.

>hesitation is defeat aka spam attack to win
>works on Genichiro
>works on phase 1 Isshin
>try to interrupt spear Isshin's attacks with my own
>he super-armors through it
Honest my fucking ass

thicc bih

Attached: IMG_3450.jpg (2560x1440, 329K)

blue brain explode nice dude i didnt even think of that.

lol in Nioh 1, oda was dead because the game could never allow you to win in a real fight against him. You bring him back from the dead and if you beat him in gameplay he wrecks you on the cutscene after that and just lets you go

Japs love their Oda and I honestly can't fault em for it.

But being a shinobi is all about taking full advantage of the tools that you are given

Pretty sure being a ninja is all about being a dirty trickster and gaining the advantage however possible

>4th phase
>drone strike

>imagine being so good at swordplay you achieve sainthood

just got to this fight genichiro is a jobber and isshins first phase I can breeze through
but im getting rekt in his second phase with the spear

should I stick close to him so that he is forced to use is sword primarily ?
does it work?

Attached: 1555038826357.jpg (758x960, 120K)

Do the opposite. Wait for him to come to you. Also when he jumps run towards him and dodge towards him, if you get it right you'll end at his side and you'll get one or two hits in.

based kek

This desu. Isshin's inability to be staggered mid-move is the only thing that stops it from being top 3 fights in the game.
As it is, Genichiro 2 and Owl 2 are better demonstrations of all that you've learned.
Isshin subverts it instead of testing you on it.

>Beat monkey 11 days ago
>Haven't touched the game since
>Just installed Yakuza Kiwami
I haven't completed a Fromsoft game since Demons Souls.
Fuck.

Literally this, when he pulls the spear out you are so much better off playing it safe. Honestly his first phase is so easily fucked it feels like instead of designing an actually hard boss they just made him cheap as fuck, in his second phase he can stagger you at the beginning of an 8 hit combo that fucks you IMMEDIATELY the spear does so much stagger and the stagger is so fucked with the game eating inputs that you are fucked. So man you times I miss a block, try and recover and my dude just sits there like an idiot. If you get hit by the pistol it doesn't put you in a stagger you can immediately roll out of, instead you have a drawn out falling over animation THEN you can recover but if he decides to do one of his multiple running attacks after this you are fucked.

Really it boils down to me hating the stagger in this game. Posture doesn't benefit the player at all, one would think if you don't get posture broken you can't be knocked over but actually it doesn't matter at all it's just an extra layer of difficulty added to deflection where even if you deflect every hit in a combo your posture still gets maxed out and one mistimed block will fuck you up and on NG+ even with all beads Isshin will 2shot you if this happens. People bitching about easy mode just play without the fucking charm and fight Isshin it's ridiculous and bullshit.

>Walking into the fight normally puts makes you essentially fight two mini-bosses at once without any balance to their AI
>They'll mix up their perilous attacks at the same fucking time and you wont know which one is doing it because the symbol is over your head
>The area itself can obscure your view and the fire can blind you if the enemies are in front of it so it's even harder to distinguish the perilous attacks
>Parrying the spear can cause you to get knocked into fire or the wall where your camera fucks you because the area isn't big enough for two of these fucks
>Will attack from offscreen if you aren't focused on both. Especially with their quickest attack from their slow-moving stance
>The faggot sitting on the ground can fuck with your lock-on if you just keep him there
>Again, their AI isn't changed at all in this fight. They both fight you as if they're fighting you 1 on 1.

>OH, but you aren't supposed to cheese this fight or use any strategy other than fighting both at once :^)

Go fuck yourself, you huge weeaboo faggot. I didn't even think it was possible to get a stealth deathblow on the samurai swordsman but when I did, I knew I was supposed to do something other than being stubborn for a fair fight.

How do I git gud at Corrupted Monk 3rd phase? Does confetti make any difference?

spam firecrackers and ash.

or just learn the patterns like a man

just spam firecracka my dude
she can't even move her fingers

then dont spam and read his animations? hit r1 and see if he gets interruped then hit either r1 or l1

>Guardian Ape rematch
>perfect his first health bar
>calls in the support
>firecracker stun get most of his posture in
>fuck up, die, ressurect
>kill brown ape
>perfect parry headless ape's long ass combo
>hit him a bunch, realiza that was where I should've use the dpear to pull out the centipede
>he's at about 90% posture
>fuck up the parry and die to the string
I'm so goddamn mad that i'm going to take a break now. I remember hearing something about if I do this fight first I don't have to do the double apes, is that true?

Attached: IMG_8291.png (975x985, 1.07M)

What does the old lady mean by “freeing” her husband the carp feeder? Do I just kill him?

Are there differences in text if you play if you choose either jap vo or english one?
Been playing in jap and after the Demon of Hatred fight he simply said 'thank you', but while browsing youtube and seeing people play the same fight in english there's been an additional 'goodbye, sculptor' line.

It's her father, not husband. You can kill the Carp by doing pot noble's questline and free the caretaker.

is there even something else you can do with them?

Thanks!

His uneven terrain with THAT nigger rock isn’t honest

I progressed far into the level and watched her stab some nobles then die. Then I was never able to talk to her again cuz she was dead. I only then finished the quest to free her husband.

I wonder if I missed out on any additional dialogue/loot because of that.

Use them as consumables in the fights. Think you can also give at least one of them to that fat guy.

Because he is the perfect Samurai. I'm sure he is also a master with the bow.
The perfect warrior kills. What he uses to kill is up to context.

>I was never able to talk to her again
There are two of them. One warns you earlier in the location and the other one chills on the roof of a sunken house and asks you to open the gate.
If you finish the quest line and free the caretaker, rest near him and one of them will appear. Don't think you actually get anything from that.

Both of them are gone from those locations.

probably for retarded americans who dont know who the demon is. If that line is there it was added, original japanese version doesn't mention that at all. Wouldnt make sense since the lady you talk to after the fight asks you if you know who the sculptor is and sekiro says no.

What are you saying? Your chances of victory are 100% if you don't stop trying.

You're definitely right. You can't expect retarded Americans to not only explore but also put 2 and 2 together from other dialogues. They need to be spoonfed everything. Also holy shit lol I didn't know about the "Goodbye Sculptor" line. What a dumb line. Whoever plays on Eng dubs is a massive pleb.

He took me about 3 tries (4 kinda since I accidentally died to genechiro). The fight wasn't that hard after I got all the memories including demon of hatred and papa owl. I felt like the fight was over too fast to sink my teeth into. His patterns felt fun but I think he should have been given more hp and posture and perhaps a posture damage only phase, probably reduce his damage a bit so he isn't too punishing. He felt as fun as oda fucking nobunaga in nioh, nice game all in all, not blown away though

if you knew who the demon was I meant not sculptor

so you have to play through twice to get enough upgrade material to max the prosthetics right?
fuck

What the fuck is this "only parry and basic attacks or you are a cheater" mentality?
Not cheating is about making the game as boring as possible?

Demon is actually Tengu. You never see him after demon appears. And they are both yokai.

not him but I never used the candies in combat
too dumb I guess

its like how you didn't really bear nioh unless you only used mid stance 1kat

This but unironically 1kat is peak Nioh

I think it actually has something to do with in-game actions and not the version, because I just looked up some streamers playing in english and most of them didn't have the line.

Attached: demon.jpg (779x545, 91K)

No Emma is actually Isshin inside of Kuro's body. The Demon is Kotaro if you give him both pinwheels and kidnap him from the surgeon and then tell him to go to the merchant. It's assumed that he was operated on by the surgeon and afterwards he lost his mind to hatred trying to find the merchant.

Maybe it only happens if you eavesdrop on Emma and the Sculptor and then have the Sculptor tell you that you will be the one to kill him.

>want to play this game to fight Isshin again and other boss fights like Owl/Owl2
Why didn't the souls game give me the same feeling as Sekiro?

dont know what it would be. The merchant at dil temple mentions the sculptor went to the battlefield but that's it.

The ultimate upgrades are absolute shit except kunai, prob.
By the time you get stuff like spirit flamethrower you can buy infinite divine confetti.

Attached: 1532160667850.png (528x404, 3K)

>use divine confetti
>1,2, sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand 1,2 sand
>sand is interchangeable with firecrakers and snap seeds
>win

>that you will be the one to kill him.
Probably that, because I never heard that line from him even though gave him whole range of sake and heard his talk with Emma.

Yeah 2bh, I strayed from my 1kat ways after beating the fight with oda and fem frozone, I died probably about 80 times trying to do it that way but I felt like a god after finally beating it. Then I learned it's trivial if you use magics

>MFW I reach Guardian Ape 2: Electric Bogaloo
Someone hold me, I'm scared. How the fuck am I supposed to handle two of them?

Attached: scared.jpg (698x672, 26K)

They're both really honest fights.
Play charmless.

Concentrate on one of them. If you want to kill the female one then bait the headless into the scream.

It's alot easier, Guardian is in his second phase that is easy to parry and and the 2nd ape's posture is broken really easy with firecrackers, just go for the 2nd ape when it's down for the kill, you can tank it in 30 seconds.

Kill the brown one first, it gets destoyed by firecrackers+a couple sword hits.

Do I have somewhere else I can go, or is it the only way forward? I killed the first guardian ape and got the flower

>heard his talk with Emma
All of them? He has at least two conversations with her, in one of them Emma asks him if the flames of hatred are still burning and if you talk to the Sculptor afterwards he'll tell Sekiro to stop acting dumb and that he'll be the one to kill him.

Dixie Kong is not the same as Guardian Ape 1, she has less moves and goes down easier.
The fight is simple, just be patient, let the two split apart and then hit her when you get the chance. Headless Ape is quite slow and gets trapped in animations alot.

Prosthetics are king, use Flame Vent and Firecrackers, or grind her down from range with Shurikens. The Tanto item helps alot in that regard, you should get it if you didn't already.
You shouldn't have trouble with Headless Ape, he's very easy to read. Get Lilac Umbrella if you're having trouble.

Thanks. Ended up using firecrackers for about half her third phase and just deflected and mikiri'd for the rest. Much easier than the preceding boss, Great Shinobi Owl

Double ape fight is entirely optional. Have you visited the temple? You can get there from the castle.

Alright thanks, I'll try!

I see, no I haven't, unless you're talking about senpou temple, which I've clearedI think (I got transported to a realm where I had to do a boss by steaöthing upon monkeys)

If you haven't got past this place before beating the first Ape fight, no, you can't skip it. I wouldn't recommend it either way, it drops 2 beads, a memory and a ninjutsu.

Double Ape fight is only optional if you got to an Idol located further down the depths.

If you haven't done the Depths, it blocks your progression.

>Double ape fight is entirely optional
Only if you did depths before killing Guardian Ape.

Not him, but what about the finger prosthetic? It mentions that it enrages beasts, making them attack anything. Would it work on the apes? I never tried it before.

Huh, intresting.

What's with the Shichimen Warrior going to where the apes were after they're dead, hell what's with them at all?

Because Sekiro is a passion project like Demon's Souls.

They represent various dead. Once you kill that one and you see the loot they drop it makes more sense who they are.

It's Kingfisher, Sculptor's old training partner

Good luck, user.
Remember: always smoke the darkie first.

Usually after deflecting you Owl does this shoulder > swipe > firecrackers > swipe combo. Instead of backing off before the gunpowder explodes, you can deflect both initial hits and double dodge forward to get ~2 free hits in his back.

>Swords aint

>having to kill Emma again and again in the Shura route
I can't go on.

Attached: 4C1898C3-082D-4760-9274-DB0516C59BAE.jpg (680x680, 67K)

How'd all them monkeys learn how to swordfight? Silliness.

Got him!

The brown one died really fast, yeah. Was surprised at how easy it was, just took 3-4 tries.

Attached: 1554928929277.jpg (400x400, 14K)

Looks like the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice® was inside of you all along, user.

How far into the game is that big monk boss? Been looking forward facing her since the previews. I know there is a corrupted version of her, but I talk about the regular one which I assume is the first?

Hardest part about the fight.
>tfw you can clearly see by her moveset she's trained by Isshin but she's really just no match for you

This is the game people are thrilled about? How tedious and uninteresting. Why is genre popular again?

>using charm

Casual

There's two Corrupted Monks, one's a spooky illusion in the mid-game, and the other is the real deal that blocks entrance to the last area in the game.

Keep in mind if that if you forsake Kuro, you won't get to fight her true form.

>beat challenging but fair boss fight (ie every fucking fight in the game except for the double monkey fight)
>look up game wiki for lore etc
>comment section is filled with people saying the fight is fucking tedious bullshit trash
Both Demon of Hatred and Isshin were great fights with counterplay against everything they did. Why the fuck is every fucking retard so quick to blame the game for their own incompetence?

Both are pretty honest but the only thing that makes Isshin "harder" is that his telegraphs are quicker for his attacks. Like you fight Isshin and the way he moves in and out of sword swinging stance, it is difficult at the beginning to tell when he's actually done swinging and open for safe damage. Isshin swings his weapon faster while Owl swings slower while moving fast

Ok cool. I've been running around in this foggy area for some time now. I thought apparitions were impossible to hit without the confetti, but they take regular damage like everything else?

Because they want the fights to be about the rolls and dodges.

I like rolls and dodges too, but getting deflecting right feels so much more rewarding as a play. Great Shinobi Owl, perfect example

Attached: 1554837285831.png (717x613, 562K)

The best thing about deflecting is that you can really stand your ground. In Souls, if a huge dude with a huge sword swings at you, you better start running or be using a greatshield. In Sekiro you don't even have to take shit from Divine Dragon. Feels good.

Where's a sculptor's idol close to the creepy fuck in the foggy forest, playing the flute inside the house? I've been running around mindlessly for some time now, and I'm not gonna engage him, or Drunkard V2, until I find the next idol to rest at.

There's one right before the pit with a headless and after that there's none until you actually defeat a real boss at the end.

>outskilled sword saint isshin and genichiro
>outskill emma
>get absolutely thrashed by old man isshin
Fuck me

Attached: B2D9A2A9-0E58-4CE0-B74C-DA505F472224.jpg (1920x1306, 770K)

The creepy flute fuck is a joke of a 2 deathblow midboss though.
You need to kill him to remove fog and open the way to the zombie village.
Just cheese or skip the Juzou for now.
There's one idol at the very end of the village beside the river.

>Demon of Hatred
>Great fight
Great Bloodborne fight sure but a good Sekiro fight? Fuck off. Bosses should be an accumulation of everything you've learnt in the game while the Demon of Hatred actively punishes you for playing how you've been taught.

punishes you? how? you can parry his normal swings, dodge his fire swings, jump over his sweeps, and run away from/use the fire shield on his fire explosion and fire emblems.

Use red gourds and the fire umbrella and stay right on him. You can parry almost everything with negligible burn buildup and he goes down way faster. I don't understand why this argument is so common

>Demon of Hatred actively punishes you for playing how you've been taught.
Nah. It's still the usual high risk/reward idea with him. You could try cheesing him but his later phases will hurt if you tried it.

I honestly think that Old man Isshin is harder than Sword Saint, especially in non NG+ runs.

In his second phase you're almost guaranteed to die if you don't manage to interrupt his flaming judgement nut attack. And he mixes up more attacks that were blockable before but kill now if you even slightly hesistate to dodge them.

> you can parry his normal swings
For what purpose? This isn't a posture fight, you're better off just strafing to the left of all his attacks and hugging his ass
> dodge his fire swings
see above
>jump over his sweeps
his sweep has literally no indicator that it's a sweep, him dragging his hand across the floor could be a fucking grab for all I know.
>and run away from/use the fire shield on his fire explosion and fire emblems
Like a Bloodborne boss

Fuck. I saved Shura run for last and now I'm going to meet him for the first time on NG+++

>this isn't a posture fight
For you. Enjoy your tedium

>struggled like hell with butterfly, illusion monk, o' rin and a bunch of other minibosses
>beat 2ape, demon and isshin in

lamo2ape is actually easier than normal ape. simply because you dont have to deal with the rolling grab animation.

Whacking his ass is way faster than trying to build posture, a lot safer too.

you can just jump over the judgement thing if you do it at the very last second. still the old fucker gave me the most trouble out of all bosses and I did shura on ng+4.

>safer
For you

Better prepare your asshole because his katana looks fucking nasty and by now you should know the strongest fighters have the coolest katanas.

>ONE (1) outfit for the mc
What were they thinking?

fucking this. Every goddamn from thread without fail
>Am I the only one who thought so and so was easy
>are we all talking about the same guy durr because I beat him first try, no hits, no dodge, no parry, lol

Nice argument faglord

I noticed real quick that a lot of the game is better learned through sound. When I had to fight that down syndrome claw boss at the gun fort, the rhythm of his attacks was the way I took him down.

I fought him for so long that I actually learned how to parry One's mind. I only did it like twice out of my fifty-ish attempts. It's absolutely not worth it since it's way, way to risky and you take a shitload of posture damage even by deflecting everything while dealing little to none.

Most games in existence only have one outfit.

That he's a man on a mission and he's mission isn't to be /fa/

im not bragging but I just beat that headless nigger and his wife on my second try an hour back
I was dealing really good posture V18 A10 damage so it trivialized the fight

> 50 sen

>swiggity swootys at mach 4
I beat she doesnt run so she doesnt run her hair

>boss has 4 health bars
okay i'm on the journalists' side, this is bullshit, i've beaten every other boss but him
first 2 phases are easy but the spear and gun faggotry are trash

Attached: 1554770599555.jpg (1280x720, 37K)

So what the fuck was his 5shot gat
definitely not a flintlock
had to be one of them lead ball ammos and that need gunpowder reloads for every shot

how do I defeat seven spears? I can hit him fine but his poise regens in seconds. can I backstab him when I cause him to fall over or something?

How do you have so much?
I beat them too, but I only have 14 vit and 7 AP. I don't think I've missed any mini-boss up until then...

Phase 4 is the easiest of them all. Don't choke at the end and git gud.

ill get flak for 'git gud' but im honestly stuck on the shinobi hunter in hamata manor, i havent played a soulsborn game in years, hell i havent played a non-grand strategy/4× since start of year, but golly gee this game is super fun! just gotta master the mikiri counter. my reflexes are crusty AF

Genicihiro isn't even a fight lmao. The average mob enemy by that point in the game is harder.

The first visit or the one before owl 2?

I took 20+ tries to defeat certain bosses in the game and in retrospect it wasn't because they were hard but rather that I was so bad and not learning from my mistakes fast enough
However now I am strong

I don't understand this, every time i see people complain about his spear phase but when i did it i only got to his spear phase once before and then killed him because his spear phase was just easier to me because of Mikiri.

theres a skill called mikiri counter in skill tree that is ridiculously powerful and so mandatory it might as well be a innate skill part of your default arsenal but it isnt and not having it will fuck you in the ass until you unlock it.

>never felt cheap
I liked him but don't forget he can stab you through the fucking rock that it's in the middle of the map

Mikiri Counter has a very generous window to activate, but remember it only works on thrust attacks.

He's a cunt, especially at the start. If clearing the adds is getting too tedious you can just take a break and go progress in a different area.

I didn't miss any miniboss until the endgame except for those sashimi warriors cunts
found all the beads you can find in the world
currently vitality is 19 after getting 2 beads from 2ape, got one from the fat drunk where you fight the ogre first time and one from the ashina elite under Isshins room

as for attack power idk
I used all the memories but bosses will be the same for you as for me also I didn't use the mask

It's because he's at full health. Reduce it and the posture damage will start to add up at a certain threshold and they will regenerate slower.

The game actually explains this when you try to fight the samurai dude at the stairs.

A) NEVER stop attacking and countering
B) Chip down his health, THEN do A

This is how you beat every boss in the game.

He's weak to mikiri and jumping attacks

>True, too bad his final phase it too easy
Its supposed to be easy. Its a reward for going through the hell that is the first two phases. The final phase is just about dabbing on him with lightning.

Nigga it took me 6 hours straight. Most people seem to take around 2-6 hours to beat him. You can do it just keep at it.

His last 2 phases are exactly the same aside from the one lightning attack he does.

He has like 3 thrust attacks and 1 sweep
Just stay out of sweep range and mikiri the thrusts. Don't overcomplicate things, all you have to do is press dodge when he the spearhead gets close, the window is beyond generous

The fact that everyone is stuck on sword saint just means your all going to be double butt blasted when you go on thinking young isshin is stronger then the old man isshin. Isshin ashina is way more bullshit

The lightning attack even makes him easier if you deflect it, it stuns the shit out of him
It's practically a 2 phase boss

You can also aggro them and run to the left towards the isshin fight. They'll lose sight of you, come back and backstab the normal one than you can either fight the elite or do the same strat for another deathblow.

This is infuriating indeed. Punished for too quick reactions.

I JUST BEAT HIM, thx fromsoft for this beautiful game!

I wonder what it's like for people going Shura on their first time through. Because they hit pretty hard on NG+.

Would you rather have the best boss be a secret boss, or the final boss of the normal campaign?

Wouldnt know, i did sura on ng+ as well and ive been stuck

Really, really hard. Forgot to savescum and had to fight him on 4 gourd charges. Really forced me to get gud after hours of improvement.

Had 2 seeds left but you can't talk to emma after getting locked out.

Why does he want to kill you in the end when you take the good ending?

Not that bad, I probably would've been able to mash my way through in NG. As it is NG+ just forced me to actually learn their fights and not be bad and now they're fairly trivial.

Dark Lurker was the best DkS 2 boss and no one remembers him. The answer is clear.

Hes an asshole who hasnt had the soul tempering experience of chopping off his best friend’s arm after seeing him go demon, effectively reversing his character development and changing his mind about wanting the eternal waters and divine heritage gone.

Because he was summoned by black magic and shit and took pity on his son.. (?)

Nah, he probably doesn't care at all. He just loves to fight.

Isshin has to be the most overrated boss in From history. I can't even imagine how so many people had so much trouble with him.

I can't fight a samurai at the same time as Seven Spears, come on. Seven Spears takes 100% focus. You are supposed to stealth kill the samurai first

You can strafe and bait Sword Saint into his overhead attack and get 2 hits in constantly.

Old Isshin you simple tank with Shadowrush, just eased him on NG+ for the plat.

>and no one remembers him
I didn't even bother with him because fuck that shitty runback, seriously

Thanks for the advice bro, i dont have shadowrush though
My morale is dangerously low

Attached: 9701E59B-BA2E-4A9E-8B68-CACF622FF369.gif (255x191, 1.9M)

Most panicked I got in either fight was Old Isshin when he uses fire, that's bot some shitty hitboxes on it.

Thats what im at now. His sweeps are so hge and the entire area is against me, sticking on his ass is the best choice but with damage through blocks and no reliable dodging im just ready to quit

After seeing how inconsistent it was, I just pulled out the shield hat thing. Fuck that attack.

if you want to brute force him just use fireworks on last phase whenever hes trying to do fireshit.

just watch the floor, the areas that glow will burn up in flames. You can parry every single hit of his "one mind" attack

I whistled and got the literally-who to come to me first and fucked him

Fuck this game, ive beaten everything with the bell on in the first run, and without kuros gay charm in the ng, but i cant fucking beat isshin ashina and im done. There comes a point where something is just flat out bullshit and unfun

I have done NG and NG+, Return ending in my first run, Purification Ending in NG+, fucking loved Ishin fight, fucking loved Owl Father fight, But I'm missing 2 prayer beats for full health and the last seed so I'm stuck with 9 heals, is the demon of hatred that I left in my first playthrough and I'm doing tomorrow? Is the underwater heatless? I just don't know we're to look, I just want to kill shit now that I'm good with the combat

Someone post that pic with Isshins helmet covering his eyes

>the final killing blow is with his head bowed forward and wolf doing a heavy downward chop right on his neck
>doesn't decapitate him
That shit would have been perfect if it did instead of just a fountain of blood gushing out the back.

Attached: 1554461527073.jpg (1242x980, 163K)

did you killed headless ape?

Yeah I seen people say they probably cut it because EA or ratings, but you decapitate the Ape.

Japan's laws on decapitation are very strict.

She was unironically maybe the easiest boss in the game. I don't get how anyone can rage at this boss

>whistle first dude over
>stealth kill him
>fight spear dude

Wow that was hard

how do people get to this point and have trouble with her?

I am not that great, I took like 15 tries against the Ape and Owl, but True Monk was one try. Every single of her attacks is slow as fuck, you can just hit her like 3 times between her strikes and everything is telegraphed. And you can just zip away when things get too hot

noooo you have to use the ancient ninja code of bushido and fight enemies without using any sneaky tricks

>everyone making a big deal about how hard Demon of Hatred is
>beat him on my second try

???

Many Sekironiggers only beat fights by standing in one spot and spamming parry so of course a dead simple boss like DoH catches them out completely and reveals them as frauds
Can't wait for the DLC to make them roll for anal circumference

Is Demon of Hatred a good fight? I think I accidentally skipped him but I could go back before I take on Isshin again.

Do you like Bloodborne?

Like would be an understatement, I love Bloodborne.

It's easy and loreful, you owe it to your buddy to beat him

Brown one doesn't do grabs. It's easy.

Then you'll be sexually aroused by Demon of Hatred.

Which Bloodborne boss is he similar to? Because I fucking hated Laurence and refuse to fight him ever again.

He’s more like Manus and probably literally uses his rig

GUNSLINGER
SWORDMASTER
TRICKSTER
RANDOM HYPERARMOR

Think of him as a sort of Manus the first Vicar

He's like a babby version of Loran Darkbeast except with three healthbars. He can barely do anything to you when you hug his nuts.

How exactly did he resurrect Isshin with a sword that's supposed to make you not alive

Attached: 7fe.png (514x352, 32K)

the winded up long combos are just fucked up imo, you're not reacting to that shit in your 1st try.

It's an anime plot twist sword, don't think about it too much

The black Mortal Blade opens up a gate to hell.

Something about the Black Blade being able to open a portal to the underworld or some shit.

This is a game of memorization user.

It was the black mortal blade also known as “Open Gate”. It allowed one with Dragon Blood to sacrifice themselves with the blade to bring someone back from the dead. In this case Genichiro wished for grandpa Isshin.

When's the patch that buffs combat arts to actually be worth using?

>Isshin the Sword SAINT
>in hell
It just doesn't add up

Since black mortal blade can also sever immortality (Kuro bleeds to death having been poked by it) is it just objectively better than the red mortal blade?

We need a patch to stop the Demon of Hate cheese skip. I wish I could watch a speed runner that is good at PLAYING the game and not exploiting its glitches.

>one with Dragon Blood
But he doesn't have dragon blood. Unless he drank up the shota's blood after he cut him or some shit?

They could just make it so the Demon doesn't die when it falls off the map so if you try and glitch the game you just wind up stuck.

It's a title given to a warrior of legendary skill in swordsmanship.

I'm pretty sure it works as long as dragon blood is on the blade

>Unless he drank up the shota's blood after he cut him or some shit?
I mean why else would he cut the boy?

Black is always better

Description says
>In addition to the red Mortal Blade, there exists one that is black in color.
The blade's name is "Open Gate", and is said to hold the power to open a gate to the underworld.
It is through this power that it creates life. I beseech you, make offerings for the Dragon's Blood...

So, You just need dragon blood on the sword I assume, and Kuro is bleeding in the end.

Because he's tired of the little cunt's shit and he had too much crazy water
Seriously, Genichiro tried to be civilized about this

worst part of ishin fight was the very tall grass that made it hard to look at his movement.

Well maybe if Genichiro wasn't so autistic about it Kuro might have complied.

He literally coddled Kuro for three fucking years and showed him piles of dead Ashina soldiers, even offered wolf a job

>three years
user that's for the sack of Hirata, not when Genichiro decided to engage in shotanapping

what happens here? give the snake organ?

>died 50 times
I seriously don't get this. I have no idea how people had such a hard time with Isshin. Everything you learned in the game culminated to this point.

The fucking BULL boss was far harder because the fight runs opposite of everything the games taught you up to that point. Nothing in this game was "bullshit" except for the literal fucking Bull.

The Blazing Bull or the Sakura Bull?

>stealth sugar
>puppeteer the samurai
>gank first phase
>regular fight for 2nd phase

He's looks just fucking like Lawrence, but he's more like Cleric Beast or Manus

Doing the depths before the first ape fight lets you avoid it. Not sure if one of those ghost miniboss warriors with the malcontent ring will show up if you don't kill them though.

I fought em 2v1 and when I was able I did the jump over deathblow to the lil guy and puppeteered him.

2 times fighting him on NG+ after doing shura first. Puppeteered his partner with ninja candy.

Genichiro didn't kidnap Kuro dumbass, they're essentially family

Divine Dragon was Kino and extremely fun, don't care if it was easy or not.

Attached: Divine Dragon.jpg (640x359, 25K)

I don't even remember him using a gun wtf?
Was I just so aggressive he never had a chance to use it? Weird.

It was...interesting but the whole thing felt like a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment
I still don't know why jumping off a stump causes Wolf to do a fuckhuge AOE attack
