If you think the game is too easy, I recommend trying out forced 4 player mode. It changes how many enemies spawn, their health, how much interactables (chests etc.) spawn, how much they cost and I think how long you need to stay in the teleporter zone

iirc hopoo asked modders to change the version number or something to make it so you couldn't play with unmodded people. which I think means you could have people do things like unlock bandit, but keep the version number the same so it's still compatible with quickplay

Artificer is just weak in general.
They'll always be beaten out by all the others because of their lack of hitscan and heavy reliance on CDs, especially early on.

That was the exact moment I fell in love with the game. The game manages to archieve that MGR feel where the theme of the boss fight reflects perfectly the flow and themes of the boss and you just start getting so much into it.

Hey, I have a slight Critique for this, I don't know if you can even address it, given the nature of the mod, but the teleporter charging takes forever, I think because it assume you're going to have 4 people in it, and each person adds X to the amount of charge per second.
artificer needs a redesign, imo. her kit just feels really disjointed and weird, with a large part of it becoming fairly useless as the game goes on. I like the elemental attunement idea I've seen floating around, not sure if that would be too close to mul t though.
itemisation is totally fucked up. why are so many healing items so useless? they all give a tiny amount of non-scaling hp. the only one that's decent is fungus on an engi. why are so many green damage items way worse than whites? 90 % of the time I would probably take another syringe or sticky bomb over whatever shit damage green dropped. in general I feel like too much damage comes from item procs than your actual character. perhaps hopoo could add some items that increase ability damage or something.
a couple of characters feel way too reliant on specific items when you get to late game. huntress with no backup mags and engi with no bandolier both kinda suck if you get to that point. maybe they could bake some sort of cdr into their kit.

Shift is terrible in every regard a skill can be terrible. It's too thin, blocks nothing, most enemies walk around it, the stun doesn't last long enough, and the execute effect doesn't mess well with her kit.
R needs to scale with Attack Speed somehow.
Also everything but M1 having a pointless wind up animation is clunky.

He said MUL-T so R would probably swap between 2 elemental types with 3 different abilities per type. M1, M2 could be the existing charge based fireballs and flamethrower with a third new ability. Swap to another element and its the existing M2 and Ice wall plus a new ability.

I think sticky bombs need to be a green item, desu. They are way, way, way too valuable; If I'm picking a sticky over literally every other white every time a three terminal is available, then it oughta be looked into.
change one of artificer's buttons into something that lets her flip between the different elements (so fire/ice/lightning) with different versions of her abilities for each. so you could keep the current flamethrower as a powerful close ranged ability, then have the lightning version be a focused beam with longer range but less damage or something like that.
right now it just feels like artificer is 4 different abilities that are kinda cool individually but don't really work that well together. the most success people have with her comes from stacking backup mags and ignoring most of her other abilities altogether.
If you could've just not murdered everybody with meteor and 2 gestures, it probably would've been fine. But you did, so fuck you.

Both Monster Tooth and Medkit need value buffs as they just feel useless incredibly quickly.
Add a small chance increase per stack to AtG Missile Mk1, even just +2% would be better.
Shrine of Combat should award Lunar Coins.
1m/s move speed buff across the board.
Artificier falls off extremely quickly compared to the other characters. She needs major revisions desu.
Chronobauble is entirely bad. I don't care about the speed of the enemies because movement items stacking make me faster than light and killing enemies slows them by 100% forever and reduces their damage by 100% forever. Just change Chronobauble's effects to be the Time Keeper's Secret so it still does something keeping with the "time" theme.
The swamp area is so visually unappealing it hurts.
Add the difficulty choice on the ending screen and current stage number to the HUD.

Am I the only one that really hates how Hopoo made new monsters work? It feels like their universal answer to making things harder is to just make things spam projectiles. Every game utlimately results in me circlestrafing some huge horder of enemies and hoping I got the items I need to clear said horde before I have to dodge too many projectiles.

I don't think the game is ever particularly hard it can just really screw you over with item spawns. The core game design as it stands right now rewards item hording more than player skill.

He wrote on his dev blog on sprinting vs non-sprinting; that if a player is focused on an object and meandering towards it, it feels like a waste of time. The sprinting + camera zoom out helps alleviate this feeling, and I think the addition of sprint at all has shaped the core design of RoR2. Consider this: If there were no sprint, none at all, we could simply strafe around a stone golem and pepper it with rounds until it dies. But, to compensate, Hopoo would have had to make golems' speed faster to make sure a player cannot circlestrafe forever. That sounds cool, I'm sure everyone would be okay with that. Especially RoR1 veterans. But that still leaves the dilemma of players getting bored while trotting over to points of interest.

I hate how Imp Overlord is range now with projectiles, it was a full on fast melee boss with a short ground laser. Projectiles are just annoying.
Titans are fucking annoying to engage compare to a Colossus. Can't even enjoy breathing room when you're not in their LoS only to get fist when the indication clips in the ground.
Dunestriders are another story, don't know how to change them without fucking their whole stitch.

Barbed wire and spike strips'll be useless in 2 since you really want to be as far away from all enemies as possible in 2. Tougher Times has taken the place of that ribbon one that gives you a chance to avoid damage.
I honestly just think Radar scanner needs to be made passive. Maybe just have it only show nearby objects instead of filling the edges of your screen with arrows. As it is right now it's really only good for cloaked chests and rusty lockboxes.
I genuinely think Red Whip needs to be white. A flat nerf to Sticky Bomb seems like what will probably happen.

Let me rephrase: Barbed Wire and spike stripe will do no good because you don't want to be in a golem's face and get the clap in the midgame. Wisps, Greater Wisps, and potentially Ancient Wisps (found in the game's files) will be unaffected by either since they're in the air, or you want to stay away from Ancient ones. You DEFINITELY don't want to get close to elder lemurians. You see the trouble? It's not detrimental, I'm sure Hopoo can think of something else like

That's a problem, too. Frost Relic is great with Merc, and middling-straight up bad with anyone else. Red items, above all else, should be an across the board benefit for all characters.

Haven't tried joining quickplay but no mods are available, it only has bandit active.
dnspy is used to decompile & recompile. You could also use other decompilers, but the main advantage of dnspy is that you only decompile & recompile specific files rather than the entire project.
When decompiling, most likely some things will break, and some of those aren't fixable. (For example the warning in the modding pastebin about fucking around with files that have networking functions)
If you fully decompile the assembly, you then need to resolve all those issues in all the various files.

There's a 0.5% chance you get a lunar coin from any kill. Every time you get a kill this halves.
Assuming your team lets you have all the lunar coins (since you're playing MP apparently), this would mean only 10-15 have to drop, whereas if you shared, it would have to be 20 to 60 that have to drop.
But lets play it safe & lets say 10.
To get the tenth coin, there is a 0.00097% chance to get a lunar coin, this means on average you would have to kill 100.000 creatures in a run.
Now I'm not sure about you, but I've never had that happen
But it's not just the tenth, it's all of them, and that would be another like 100k monsters or whatever (I forget the exact math)
Not only that, but you spent at the very least 17 lunar coins that game. Assuming you got them all from lunar orbs. But lets be honest, you likely didn't & bought them in the bazaar, which is 2 each, plus some extras for buying passage into the bazaar.
So lets say an even 35.
To get 35 lunar coins in a run, you would have to kill 13.743.895.347.200 monsters (more or less)

Frost Relic should debuff enemies in melee range to move slower, attack slower as well as doing damage as it currently does. If you want to get real fancy with it, it could have increasing effect the longer the target stays in it until they're totally frozen for a time
It's really only good for chars close to the action and in a game where the meta is go fast and never stop the guys that have to be in the fray (looking at you Mercbros) should get some love

Lost a game last night as merc. Was playing with a huntress buddy who died to two of shielded wisps bosses. I managed to get one of them but every time I got the last one down to 0 armor I would bop it into the stratosphere. It would take at least a full minute before it was in range again and at that point it’s shield would be back up. I basically just gave up :(

Has to be an elite boss on Monsoon that spawns from the teleporter event. It also has to be one of the main bosses (Beetle Queen, Titan, Vagrant, etc)
Play MUL-T normally on Monsoon since he's busted, look out for the Mountain Shrines. You'll eventually get it.

Shrine of mountain gives the teleporter more credits to spend on boss spawns. Elites cost more credits to spawn than normal. Do some basic math. user.

That's not true. I got Deicide because I activated two shrines. I was only an hour in and no elite bosses were spawning, but I hit two of those fuckers and it dropped a blazing stone titan + three other titans on my face. I'm pretty certain not activating those would have just spawned two stone titans cuz I wasn't really that far into the run.

Your friend is a retard. 3d printers take a random item of matching rarity type and return whatever the displayed item is. So a Crowbar 3d printer will take a random white item and give you a Crowbar in return.
3d printers are one of the only things in the game that alleviate the heavy reliance on rng this game naturally contains. You can see a printer for, say, Syringes while playing Huntress and think "Well, all I have now are medkits and a warbanner, so five Syringes would be a lot better than that."

I play mostly solo monsoon and I swap between the whole cast, I most commonly play commando but my least favorite characters are mul-t and engi.
I occasionally play multiplayer but multiplayer sucks dick, quickplay sucks and everyone here seems to be shit at the game and/or obnoxious.
Whenever I play solo I only play monsoon, but if it's multiplayer I don't mind rainstorm. Since I've played monsoon so much though I've gotten drastically used to it. The game just gives you way too much to work with. Not that that's a bad thing, it makes the game fun. It's still easy as fuck though.

Printers are good early and late, but terrible mid. Early they're good because you still know what you'll lose, and late you basically stop caring about losing one of many white items as long as it means more sticky bombs/attack speed etc
but in the middle you might still rely on a couple of the commons, which is why its almost never worth the risk around that timeframe

I mean, the only time a printer can really fuck you is if you've got a few very key items and it takes those or you print everything into some shit item
Recently did a run that went 20 stages with another engi & he just printed out every single white he had twice, including all his FOONGOOS. He had like 60 syringes at the end, he still did a ton of damage & barely ever died
I have lost many potentially hour-long runs due to being overzealous with Syringes or Stickies and getting rid of most of my mobility and health items.

The looting system is addictive. Sure it’s the same maps and bosses but what if I get a shit load of mushies this time? I wonder what it would be like to have 20 warbanners. This run is going to be the run where I get that item that shoots the skulls when healed.

Lategame you get 100% of your health drained in 1 second. Shooting FAST and leeching health just as fast is the only way to survive besides dodging. Corpseblossom prevents that.
I don't know why people treat fungus as a must have on engi.
I just had and I didn't get my first fungus until my second loop, and I didn't even get broken items on my first loop. Only reason I had 21 at the point of my screenshot is because I found a fungus printer MUCH later on.
If I'm playing engi I'd much rather have stickies, syringes, or glasses.

fungus is great for engy especially multiplayer because then everyone else can stand next to a turret for a tick or two of hp regen when they need it
I agree, engi's true core item is bandolier. He does obviously make the best use of shrooms though of any class.

Only Y.V. would really make sense. He's an inter-dimensional gun god and by the way things are shaping up in RoR2's lore, there's gonna be something having to do with portals and alternate dimensions.
It's not a must but Engie is literally the only character that can use it and it's the easiest way to keep your turrets from dying.
