That's a double negative, m8. Not the best way to encourage people.
Don't worry I keep motivated even though I suck
Can't give up on something I never tried.
Just played fighting ex layer today with people.
It's hard not to when you no longer have the motivation to do so
make me faggot
you aren't going to convince me to buy that abortion mk11 lol
then stop making every trophy/achievement for fighting games require online rankings or online participation.
if I can't complete it with a second controller then I have no intrest in having to rely on other people.
They're too hard and none of my friends want to play them.
I could spend all that time getting good on something that's actually worth it.
Start posting more of my wife.
Based Rammy poster.
I'm too stupid to improve. Everything I do is wrong.
I'm going to keep on spending only four months on a title and there's nothing you can do about it
Then get smarter user. I believe in you.
You mean my wife.
No I mean mine. We both can't share her.
No, everyones wife
So many hot designs wasted on shitty fighting games.
I want to get into fighting games. Which games are the most populated on pc?
inb4 >fighting games on pc
I don't have a console, and will not buy one.
Stop shitposting on Yea Forums
Start playing Guilty Gear
Stop backdash canceling.
Im bad so i get smacked online. Also i only have PC AND im a yuropoor. The game is rigged against me mate.
Are you still talking about fighting games or you mean in general?
I can’t. None of my friends like them so I’m stuck playing online with no friends and I’m always playing new games anyway so I find it hard to stick to a fighting game long enough to get better when I’m always mining away at a backlog. Any time I spend trying to improve just feels like time wasted because I know I’ll drop it and I could just be playing another game.
Also, I suck at execution and get frustrated with myself too easily.
What I need is people that also play the games I play on the platform I play that aren't insufferable assholes with no desire to get better. Pure "win or get butthurt" fags get you nowhere and is annoying as fuck.
Also, a lot of these can't even socialize. Also, the FGC is dead I'm my country, and is trash in other countries
I can't even get good at smash user, how could you possibly have hope for me. Not to mention I'm dead inside from my unhealthy habits and job.
The player pools of fighting games are so small that getting consistent quality matches most times of the day against people who are in your ballpark of ability is hell. If you're not in US/East Asia, on PC, not playing SFV, the population gets worse than halved every step. If you start playing a MOBA or fps that was released 10 years ago today, you can instantly find 7 other shitters to learn with. Also fuck Discord.
>Double negative
No...?
Based retard
Ramlethal meant for cuddling and marriage.
i only play melty blood
There's no one still playing Guilty Gear online though. What's the point?
When you get good at fighting games almost every other game becomes boring.
When your online doesnt suck
When does this game get good i bought it and i do 1 or 2 vs matches maybe play in tutorial and then just drop it
>playing fighting games online
Tell that to the devs
>want to play Tekken 7 again
>remember the legacy DLC characters
>remember no jukebox mode for PC
>remember the terrible offline content
>remember the shittiest fucking story imaginable
>remember the terrible netcode
>remember the execution barriers to basic fucking movement
>remember Harada lying through his teeth at every juncture of development
>remember Harada turned a Native American into an Asian for some reason
>remember why I dropped Tekken 7 the first time
>remains uninstalled.
but all my friends stopped playing...
Getting good at a fighting game takes too long. Sure it's really cool once you're able to compete with and beat pros but then you realize you could have completed like 50 other games you've been meaning to play with all the time you've spent on this one.
God I wish I was Ram
>want to play tekken 7 again
>realize its 70gb
>realize it takes 1000+ hours to become a novice
>never install
I tried to get good in multiple games for hundreds of hours but I'm STILL GARBAGE.
Some people are just not cut out for it, user. People try, and the ones that can't get good stop trying. You shouldn't have such unrealistic expectations.
i might play shodown since it seems like you don't need to learn combos there
I want to RAMlethal
Same. Playing against random online just isn't as fun.
>tfw not black so dont bother getting fightan games
I'm giving up on making porn of fighting games.
Guilty gear should just go the doa route and make a volleyball game.
guilty gear has an action RTS and that shit looks even more complicated
I'm too slow for fightans
I love fighting games, but I'm trash at them. Not because I don't know the inputs. There's certain movements where it's like ... I'm doing it, but the move isn't coming out. At that point there isn't really a point to keep going. The game can't communicate the precise timing it wants from you, only the directions of input. So it's this super retarded game of "just keep trying the move a dozen times and maybe one of those times it'll go off and it seems completely arbitrary." And it's just not fun. And there isn't anything you can read or learn to get past it. I think this is why so many people give up fighting games.
Whereas in something like smash brothers you can perform every character's moves very easily, usually with the press of a single button and a direction. You don't feel like half the character's moves are locked behind months of building retarded muscle memory. You'll still get your ass handed to you by good players, but they're using the same moves you are, they're just thinking faster, using more precise timings, making better decisions, etc.
I really respect fighting games and the people who play them, and I find matches really fun to watch. I recognize it takes a lot of skill and it's truly impressive. But it honestly is very difficult to get into fighting games if you haven't been playing them for years already.
>Low quality shit fighters
>Poor design
>"Loops and combos, oh my!"
>Esport money eating up budget to actualy finish fucking games
>Nonstop DLC of rehashed characters and other shit
Fighting games gave up on themselves. 90% of the fighting genre is unfinished trash niggas will hop on because a character that barely mattered 20 years ago is somehow the best thing on earth until the game actually comes out and it's not.
>Even Tekken 4 had a better Arcade Mode with char.endings and Tekken Force.
>Also Mokujin and Roger Jr. are still missing.
I don't have any friends or locals
A.B.A. or bust!
Daisuke please!
Tanomu!
Jack > Ram > Elephant
I never gave up, not once
>Get BBTAG
>decide to try it
>it’s actually kind of fun
>see rwbyshit
>mfw
I didn't give up.
Not yet
>Sin will fuck a literal 1 year old
i wanted to like GG but it feels really fucking weird and different to every other fighting game i've played, i just cant get into it
Arcade mode is fun, but if I'm to waste time on serious practice, I'd rather practise something useful
Watching streams is more entertaining than dealing with the autism that is actually playing them.
>70gb
How the fuck can a fighting game be bigger than most open world RPGs?
I don't like losing
>than dealing with the autism that is actually playing them.
?
You just need someone to train you properly, find a good coach. Someone to beat those bread and butters, basic blocking, and footsies into you until you can't take it anymore. And then forcing you to blow if you still lose so if you want to spend it on other things you need to get gud first. Always works. Just need your coach to instill discipline in you so that you keep practicing. It's really not that hard to get better, especially more than beginners, user. Ganbare!
I used to play a bunch of Xrd with a friend of mine until it turned out he was a heroin addict and stole a bunch of shit from me. I don't have anyone else to play with in person and I just haven't been compelled to jump into online play. I was thinking of trying UNIST for something different but I doubt I have the tenacity to get as good as I want to be in this genre
>bread and butters, basic blocking, and footsies
Wait, just how bad do you think I am?
I'm better than the average fg player that picks up the game, loses for 5-30 hours and drops the game.
You seriously think I can't do "basic" blocking and BnBs after hundreds of hours?
The issue is that I got past the beginner and average level but I cannot for the life of me beat anyone that actually matters (people who actually play FGs regularly)
I'm just low level and stuck there, and having to watch veterans pick up the hardest characters and get to mid level in just 3 hours of training mode with 100 matches is agonizing
I'm shit at everything. No.
Gameplay takes up a lot of space. Open world rpgs have no gameplay.
What's the point? The friends I got into the scene do it amongst themselves without me now and my other mates don't touch fighters.
what game would you guys recommend to someone completely new to fighting games? ive been looking around and so far the only 2 games that interest me are guilty gear and SF5, but ive been hearing the latter is awful so im not sure.
SF5 probably. Or Uniel.
stop posting autists
You did say
>I'm STILL GARBAGE
If you're past average level you aren't garbage! Do you visit the practice rooms a lot? Fight a lot of strong players?
Tekken 7 is the most populated by far
>Live in SA
>No locals
>Friends are all NA or Yuro
>Don't even own the latest version of the game cuz lol arcsys
I should move to Japan and play with the Gods in Mikado
>Ky loves it
w-what
Ky is a fuccboi, what else is new?
I don't really consider being able to beat beginners and irregular players as good.
I'm garbage in the grand scheme of things.
>Fight a lot of strong players?
I hate fighting beginners and there is nobody who is equal to me, I can only ever find better players who just curvestomp me despite having way less matches and time invested into the game.
In Anime fighters anyway.
I recently played SFV to see to what rank I could get and I could not even get out of super and ultra bronze. That just tells me that my fundamentals are garbage.
Maybe I'm not even past the average level, who really knows. I can't tell, I've never played a BB or GG game on launch and all the average players are gone by now. All I know is that It's extremely easy to beat beginners and impossible to beat anyone who isn't
I haven't played the story. He seems so cool and justice.
Only ever got into the Persona fighting games and I think I just like the ArcSys feeling. Kind of want to get into BlazBlue, what should i get on ps4?
Blazblue is in a coma right now, most alive """"BB""" game is BBTAG but it plays nothing like the actual blazblue
Central Fiction is the most recent one.
How do I get better at Mortal Kombat or Smash Bros?
At its core, fighting games are a means of connecting to people and I don't want that.
His wife is Dizzy. Imagine all the possibilities.
My state is free so I've won locals/gotten to top 4-8
My tournament standings have improved per successive tourney I've went
I've never went 0-2 in any game
I basically play every day
What more do you want
There's around 200 people online in the evening most days.
If those are the two that interest you then just pick either of them. Guilty Gear is a lot of fun, I can't speak on SFV because I haven't played it. The only way you're going to get anywhere in any game you play is if you enjoy it though, so just play one you feel you'll enjoy.
He is.
How is GG or FighterZ, do they all play sinilarly?
>kick left
>kick right
>kick left
>kick right
GG plays like a more grounded Blazblue
FighterZ is really fast, neutral ends in the blink of an eye and you're constantly on your opponents ass or blocking.
>GG
>Fighterz
>Playing similarly
Definitely not
Not really, GG has a lot more defensive options than FighterZ.
If I had a perfect brown gf with cream colored hair to motivate me then I could win Evo.
That kick's a good move.
Elphelt wants to be a waifu, and I want her to be my waifu. That's good character design.
GBFV is gonna be the last fightan I try before giving up entirely
Team Blue cant properly balance to save their fuckin life.
>I think fun is more important than balance
Gee, what gave you that idea
What's a good fighting game to start at? I fucking loved Virtua Fighter, Bloody Roar, Tekken, and all that good shit as a child. Butt now I suck so much ass, I literally couldn't beat the training mode in GGXrd.
retard
I want to play Baiken and Ramlethal so bad but i fear the online could be dead in my region anyway
Tekken 7 is pretty popular
What region is it?
True, I just wish that characters in Blazblue that scratched the itch as well as they do for me didnt have to suffer with being dogshit in most matchups.
>want to git gud at fighting games
>pro players dont want to play you because you suck
>everyone else dont want to play you because they have friends to play with already
No other genre makes me feel this lonely that no one is there to play with you.
FYI, that greentext was straight from Mori's mouth
I don't think I've ever been refused in a casual match when I'm at locals/majors.
Most people online will want to play you because it feels good to beat the shit out of someone. There are people who won't want to bother with you because you're shit, but it's not as many as you'd think.
Same, SA here. Xrd online is pretty dead everywhere but Japan though.
I don't have issues with it in Europe, and it's presumably at least more populated in NA.
Oh, I know. That shit just faded from my memory. I was confirming that I remembered him saying that shit. Sometimes I think this shit shouldve stayed an RPG in planning, but that has nothing to do with anything by this point.
South cone. I have problems finding matches in FigtherZ of all things so figured the online for GG must be dead, inflation in Argentina is through the roof so it's not like i can pick the game up unless i find it dirt cheap on Steam.
Locals sure, but everyone I added on Steam already has preferred regulars. No matter how many times I initiated invites to games, nobody ever invites me back. Its depressing to see all those people playing the same game I like just not with me. They are not obligated to play with me. Finding a regular sparring partner online is hard.
Do you check the world lobbies, or the player lobbies? I don't live there, so maybe it really is dead online, but I have found in the past that a lot of people online mistakenly believe it's dead because they check ranked matches and world lobbies instead of the player lobbies, which is the only place where anybody plays.
>tfw in fightan purgatory where I stomp newbies and get stomped by anyone with a hint of competence
There is no middle ground.
I'm right there with you, brother.
same
you're in low level and so am I
It's the worst and most un fun place you can be in. Fight noobs? You'll stomp them and learn nothing.
Fight mid level players? You'll get destroyed and they will get bored and stop playing after 10 minutes.
And it never gets any better, I'm just fucking stuck here while others can get to mid level in like 10 hours
I don't get dopamine from winning in fighting games, it never feels satisfying regardless if I cheese or analyze frame data and execute combos perfectly. Nothing at all, not even a little bit. Compare that to Competitive FPS where the whole experience is a rush. Maybe it has something to do with the short nature of a match for fight games, either way it doesn't seem worth investing my time in so I don't.
>remember how fucked the story is now both currently and retroactively by making Heihachi a dindu, when Tekken 6's bullshit story ended on a point that 7 could've easily saved
>remember that Lars is a faggot for wanting to ice Jin in his sleep despite Jin telling him the reason why he did what he did in 6's climax
>remember wanting Zafina to come back in some form, but realizing that they would more than likely assassinate her character like how they turned Julia into a listless Twitchslut, and made Jaycee from Tag 2 canon despite the Tag games always being noncanon
>remember how pissy Harada gets whenever people tell him how disappointed with Tekken 7
>have to basically wait until a Tag 3 to get a REAL roster at this point because they dragged their ass to start meeting expectations with 7's so now you're treated to characters you may or may not care about slowly dribble out like pre-cum with each Season.
>more 2D mechanics instead of 3D
Haha, but E-Sports, man.
The netcode isn't that bad.
But I'm not.
Smash Ultimate is the best Smash game yet. I've been putting a ton of time into it with my brother and close friends.
My Palutena's only getting stronger.
I'm not sure what do you mean by player lobbies but more often than not i'm playing ring matches in my region's lobby. So far FigtherZ is holding up but i'm having a hard time lately finding player of my skill level.
My thumbs still hurt after playing UNIST for like 4 hours straight last week. Also after watching a stream from the Yea Forums lobbies I realized I am still a thousand years too early to even try competing in them.
Many times pro just gives me the first round by playing like a retard then goes full power one knockdown oki me to death until victory. I feel insulted
Get a stick dude.
But I don't enjoy pvp online. It's cancer.
>Also after watching a stream from the Yea Forums lobbies I realized I am still a thousand years too early to even try competing in them.
try /afgg/ they're all shit
You're talking about people who've been playing together for nearly two years almost every day. Getting better is a gradual process and having people to fight only quickens the learning process.
>want to buy unist or guilty gear
>heard you have to join a discord to even find any matches
When you go to play online in Guilty Gear there'll be an option that says Ranked Matches, which barely anybody plays, then there's an option that just says lobbies or world lobbies, it shows a list of different regions and their are premade lobbies for each of them, which absolutely nobody plays, and then the rightmost option says Play With Your Friends or something like that, and that's where you can make your own lobbies or join other player-made lobbies and is also where everybody goes to play online.
I imagine there will at least be people playing in the player-made lobbies, they may not have a good connection with you or they may have a private game or something, but there should be people playing unlike the world lobbies where there is nobody at all outside of Japan.
>Many times pro just gives me the first round by playing like a retard then goes full power one knockdown oki me to death until victory. I feel insulted
Played Central Fiction last week and had that happen to me. Never understood the purpose in doing that beyond being patronizing. I'm not gonna get better if you play me less seriously.
I'm not giving up on them
but i did give up on Xturd because it's a boring okizeme fest with no neutral
What the fuck do you mean "Pros" did you fucking play with sonicfox or something? Mid level players are not "pros", not by a long shot
These games bring out the worst from me, seriously. I get mad so easily. Either my character doesn't block, it's not doing what I want, my enemy can do something while I can't even though I try so much. Fuck them.
You don't have to in Guilty Gear. I haven't played UNIST since May of last year, so I can't really say what state it's in right now as far as playerbase goes, but I would assume you don't have to there either, considering it's probably never been more popular than it is now with its EVO inclusion. I don't know why people pass around the notion that you have to use discord to get any matches in these games, but GG tends to get 200 people, give or take, online everyday, which isn't an enormous playerbase, but it's enough that you can just go online and play against someone without having to organize it through discord or anything like that.
Fucking same. I can only get to pink square in DBFZ and then get fucked for 10 matches straight until I go back to red.
I don't have enough time to become a pasasble novice and also play other games. I'll stay out.
smash isn't a fighting game but I enjoy that one
Or "players who are better/more experienced than me". Theyre pros in my newbie perspective with less words to type
UNIST guy here, the scene has swelled since the EVO announcement for both PS and PC. There's people on ranked now too.
>Yea Forums lobbies
Do we have those? I've never seen anything like that.
because marvels dead and no other fighting games interest me.
Yep, near-daily for the past two years since JP release back in July 2017
Just for UNIST and only if you're in NA. I've seen people try to kick off EU lobbies on occasion, but they never stuck around, unfortunately.
>gave up on BBCF after 250 hours
>gave up on GG after 297 hours
>don't like BBTAG, quit after 100 hours
>don't like DBFZ, quit after 100 hours
>don't like UNIST, quit after 40 hours
>worse than beginners at SFV, couldn't get out of bronze, quit after 50 hours
>hate 3D games like tekken and soulcalibur
>hate platform fighters like smash
>mexihopper is dead
gonna try the new samsho but i got bored of 5 special after like 5 hours of playing so I doubt i'll stick to it
lol
maybe you don't like fighting games
I thought fightan carried over to other fightan. How can you have 700+ hours in a genre but can't get out of bronze in jive? There's literally 13 year old mashers in that tier.
>worse than beginners at SFV, couldn't get out of bronze
Are you me? I'm decent at most anime fighting games and Marvel but I JUST can't at SF.
>I-no loves it
street fighter is shit now
vampire savior is dead
All modern fighting games are getting simplified. Arcsys are just making baby casual trash.
Yet people still say they're too hard
dunno' you tell me. I even posted replays, got advice but still couldn't make it out so I just quit because frankly being stuck in fucking bronze for longer than a day for someone with 800 hours is really pathetic. I have no fundamentals
Anime fighters, not even once.
But I beat Tekken
I get matched with pros online and if I want to improve further I have to make it a second job.
Fighting Games are a waste of time if you don’t have plans to physicially join and go to FGC events.
no need to worry, ramlethal, I love your game. I'm getting rather decent at it too so I'm not dropping you too soon
being honest, during my my entire childhood, I've always been playing one of these. first it was darkstalkers and KoF, then mahvel, then tekken, then bloody roar and I'd even go to arcades with my older cousins and ask around for tips and shit
the bad part is that you grow bored of most other types of games
I'm pretty sure there is no such thing in FZ but i would look into it, i will also have it mind if i ever buy GG (or UNIST for the mather because i'm seriously tempted to play that as well)
Aren't anime fighters notorious for being "too offense and pressure" oriented amongst SF players?
I was told I was respecting too much and being too defensive in SFV, I played ryu
I don't play FighterZ so I don't know what the online is like there, I was just talking about the GG online.
>again paying for patches
no thank you
I wanna fuck Ram Lethal
>that image accompanied by the word suck
nghh
>frame data
>spacing
>oki
>microwalks/dashes
>kara cancels
>option selects
The list goes on. Too much work for something I will never play offline.
Same
Storywise Tekken died at 5, 7 also had:
>Paul still being treated as joke, granted it started after 3.
>Forest Law hospital stuff used as an excuse to make him not return.
>Replacing Raven with a female version of himself.
>Rushing A.King and Marduck battle, and put them later as dlc without an event with the two.
>Anna wanting to kill Nina since she killed her future husband without an event to explain it better.
>Lei Wulong turned into a homeless bum.
>Hwoarang losing an eye to a bomb despite that he fared well against Jin in 5.
And etc.
based
these images are supposed to be ironic bro
>started after 3
Cope
Still pissed with you for lying to me for so long, New Yorker.
???
whats the lore here
How do I make my gf look like Ramlethal?
I can't get into UNIST, Xrd is too fun.
I can't do the reversal missions. Every time I think I have the timing down, I don't.
Can you experienced people do them consistently?
I've been giving up off and on since 2009.
>nearly every girl from every fighting game is a 10/10 semen demon with loads of porn
>end up hating them because i can't play any of them worth a shit
There are discords with penguins playing GG and other anime fighters regularly. You can track them down through facebook fighting games groups
>Lost to a bear in 4, then became obsessed about becoming the strongest and aliens afterwards.
>The Devil phenomena being changed to a genetic thing Heihachi just missed out on
>7 still not explaining why Heihachi locked up Jinpachi and starved him to death
>Paul still being treated as joke, granted it started after 3.
What's really fucked about this is that for how much shit it gets for being too different, broken and experimental, Tekken 4's story (especially for Paul) is still one of my favorite things in fighting games because it allowed the supernatural but still kept a grounded tone and didnt go overboard like later games have done.
I don't have the execution to play GG and I like defensive games like SF4 better
I'll play nu-Samsho when it comes out
I love it when this happens to people like you for some reason
>Eddie Gordo going after kitty girl despite that Jin was the one that did not payed him for his master as promised.
I feel the same
except I just hate myself and not the character, why am i so bad and incompetent
phrasing was bad, meant hating fighting games not the girls
>The word forgot Kazuya was literally the Devil after he made Zaibatsu look bad.
My personal favorite.
How do I git gud
No. I tried too hard and failed. Now i only play for shits and giggles. i will be forever in this state right here.>Yesterday a friend of fine who never played fighterZ decided to try it.
>We couldn't play together because of connection issues.
>He goes to try some casuals matches
>He basically stomped everyone effortlessly while i have around 80 losses in a row.
i am just too retarded for this and it si frustrating to not even be able to put up a fight in the majority of fighters i played and beign average at best at the ones i played the most. FighterZ was my last fighting game and i aint buying any anymore. Fuck this genre and fuck me for ever trying to get gud at it.
hmm... post more 18
nigga now matter how you put it every motherfucker will tell you to do he most basic training that everyone who tries fighting games does because they can't phantom in their minds that someone can be this bad even though you followed every advice known to man to get good.
at least you aren't as pathetic as me
Before: Kazuya made a contract with the literal Devil to take out Heihachi.
>Now: Nah, its just a genetic thing and not a sovrannatural event.
They tried to redeem Heihachi making him marryng someone hired to kill him, then throwed his son because of his genes rather than being severe, they forgot that he straight up killed Michelle father, locked his dad who did nothing wrong and tried to use the same genes he despised with Ogre's blood to become more powerful.
Fighting games are so dumb. Its has to be worst vidya genre.
>no real story
>can beat the AI easily
>everything revolves around having fast reflexes and muscle memory
>no teamplay
>audience is "strange"
I mean I played them too, but only from like 10 to 14.
Why couldn't they just die instead of RTS?
that actually really close but i only ever bought GG and fighterz from arcsys.
i was also thinking on getting units but lets be fucking real here. iot would just be another waste of money, time and patience.
How are black people so good at fighting games
Cause casuals like you eat waifufaggotry up while ignoring the gameplay while RTS can hardly provide girls for casuals to fap to
fuck me at least you can get to red and pink.
i cant get out of yellow and green.
i have a fucking 80 losses streak my dude.
Yeah this genre probably isn't for you if you don't like competition and get exposed for coming up short.
Like what
What is the point of being fast at pressing buttons? Destruction is always easy and for dummies/niggers. Creation and thinking 50 moves ahead is for the gigachads.
You can create a defense.
But since you're using gigachads, convincing you otherwise seems like a waste of time. Thinking ahead also exists in fighting games too, you'd know that if you fought something that wasn't easy mode AI.
That's rough. For how long have you been playing? Getting out of beginner level in DBFZ is really just eliminating bad habits, like not 2Hing fullscreen Super Dashes, getting opened up by IAD overheads, pressing buttons when it's the opponent's turn, etc.
But i still play a lot of Unist and Tekken because fighting games are fun
I don't know.
I have been playing seriously for a year now and have 800, can't even get out of bronze in SFV, can't beat shitty low level players in anime games.
I seriously don't know what I did to deserve to be THIS retarded, most people who have 200 hours of overall experience with fighting games pick any new game up and get good in like two days.
Just "playing for fun" isn't really possible for me either, I LIKE competition, I PLAY so I can get good. But it's just not happening, I'm not a casual, I like this genre but it just kills me inside. I just wasn't born with enough IQ and good enough reflexes. I hate it
382 hours isn't shit
100 hours.
The thing is that most of the times i cant get out of pressure and whenever i do i can't get on the offensive. so i can only attack when the opponent makes a massive fuck up which rarely happens with the huge majority of players.
Dude are you me?
I am also too retarded to get good. the only game i was ever not complete garbage was usf4 and now only the pros remain in their majority.
Just do is io do and stop playing. Get fightcade and play that every now and them. it will save you money and time.
What character do you play
May and May only
I'm also too autistic to quit
I just love the genre too much
help me it's an unhealthy obsession, I want something I will very obviously never get, I'm not cut out for it but I keep trying and going insane
King of fighters 14 is a game to can picknup for the first time with a collection of friends, and all of you will be building skillsets that are found throughout the rest of the genre.
But they're playing Zelda
The lore is to trust no one you meet on this site. As they will deceive you in any way possible for their gain.
my best advice is to stop playing or go for an easier game.
try something else you are going to go insane with frustration. not even joking.
Rather, don't believe overly nice people who uses ! a lot. they're probably creeps like that doremi shitposter
>my best advice is to stop playing
I can't I'm fucking addicted
I also tried drawing and programming and was too shit for both and gave up. This (Getting good at FGs) is LITERALLY my last ambition I have left in life
give me some linne blockstrings/frametraps
im new to unist and my pressure game is shit
You will never be good. That's not an insult. Instead, focus on being better.
youtube.com
a-user please, anything but that
I've been playing for a whole fucking year and I can't get out of bronze in SFV playing a dumb basic character like Ryu. I'm not getting better, at all
Quit being a little fucking bitch, holy shit. this is the most blackpilled thread I've seen in my life. Just play the fucking game and get better.
Hey do you wanna know why RTS died? Because it was a genre about
>being fast at pressing buttons
and focus on shitting as much units as you could and watching building fall.
Wanna know why fighters aren't dead yet? Because it's a genre with one of the highest levels of both mechanical execution and mind games, game knowledge is massive at high levels and thinking is necessary to ouplay your enemy. It's also apealing to the viewer, unlike rts
Sounds like you're just not patient enough. In DBFZ you pretty much have three options for dealing with pressure, blocking until it ends (most of the time it will, if not it's not a true blockstring, which leads us to the next option), reflect which will get you out of blockstrings with gaps (don't use too much or you'll get baited), and guard cancel which will get you out of true blockstrings for the cost of a bar (also baitable).
And for getting in you probably need to work on neutral, that includes observing your opponent's habits predicting what they'll do next and deal with it accordingly, and getting good at movement. Watch some pro matches and watch how they usually get their hits in, pros don't usually fuck up.
what is the point of geting better if you are not going to be good at it to actually have some decent fun? I don't get it?
Stop giving up on X medium of fun that requires time investment out of your free time on a significant level to become only competent at best at.
Don't bother with this series unless you like Fat Old NTR bullshit
I'm going to mating press her.
Because nobody is good at fighting games.
I still play Tekken almost every day
It's great and I'm glad the game isn't dead
Play guilty gear, unist, soul calibur, FEXL, and koihime enbu! They're actually good!
Stop playing SFV, DBFZ, and NRShit! They're fucking shit!
>Sounds like you're just not patient enough.
nigga come the fuck on. i sued to play matches focusing entirely on blocking just to try to learn how to get out of pressure. My point is it doesnt amter how much i do or try or whatever advice and lesson people give me i usually either dont learn it or cant apply them during fights. so it is useless either way.
some people obviously are. what the fuck are you on about?
I'll stop giving up on fighting games when the community stops running back to grovel to Capcom every time the stupid company takes a step forward after 2 steps back.
>gigachads not just enjoying simple buttonmashing when with a bunch of friends
Look at this nerd.
>popular game bad
>obscure game good
This but unironically
KoF is my favorite fighting game this gen. Best since SFIV. I like it even more than Tekken 7. All fighters are beginner-friendly imo. It's just the knowledge of other players doing crazy shit in tournaments that shattered the illusion the games were shallow mashers. They used to be harder before... yet they were more popular. Difference is, pre-internet, 99% of players were unaware there were people out there way better than them. So now it's, "I'm just not good at them!" when it should be (and used to be) about just enjoying the game with friends or solo.
Enjoying the art, the characters, the sound-effects, the cheese, beating local friends, and learning a bit of the lore, and mastering the game were the fun parts. People don't do that anymore. It's about how many streamed tournies are there that I can tech-steal from, and how many hype merchants are there? How many ecelebs will entertain me as I continue to suck, but feel part of a community? Forget the game! Who do I know who's playing it?
End fucking rant.
>no local scene
>online fighting games are cancer because of lag
fighting games aren't viable for me
>hurr durr let me fight Akuma in Devil form right in the open, surely nobody will see this
>'kazuya is a devil wtf I hate g-corp now'
>kazuya only then decides to laser the zaibatsu satellite from orbit even though he could do so with ease a hundred years ago
>'the crashed zaibatsu satellite killed millions wtf I hate mishima zaibatsu now'
>oh no the world hates us, we are doomed, time to duke it out on the volcano one last time with my son for real since my voice actor is dead now
what the fuck was this even
>Enjoying the art, the characters, the sound-effects, the cheese, beating local friends, and learning a bit of the lore, and mastering the game were the fun parts. People don't do that anymore.
I do. Just not with KoF. Casuals and the e-sports scenes, man. Waifufags were a tolerable part of the community before but the absolute amount of casuals flooding in ramped up the waifufagottry up by an enormous margin.
Maybe you're just retarded. You can always try separating these lessons and try to do them individually, like "this match I'll focus on blocking", or "this match I'll focus on playing neutral". It's good to note also that this shit takes time, you won't instantly get good at blocking by practicing that for 3 matches. Which is why I usually prefer practicing by actually trying to play the game. I've been playing DBFZ for a year and like I said I can't even stay at pink square, it just takes time, try to have some fun to make this time less noticeable.
There´s too many fighting games.
Every fg i enter i need to learn new mechanichs and moves for every characther with the danger of the game being abandoned. Im fucking tired.
>some people obviously are
Do they have a perfect win record? No. They're just better than you and they people they beat. But the people they lose to are also better than them. But then they get better and beat them next time. It's not about being good because there will always be people better than you. That's why I say to focus on being better.
The point is you're looking for a destination you don't know, you don't have a map and you don't know where the fuck you are. The journey is what really matters. This may sound like philosophical garbage, but that's how I see it.
>i usually either dont learn it or cant apply them during fights
Then actually learn and apply it. It's only useless when you give up. Nobody can solve the problem for you.
>since my voice actor is dead now
Man it still hurts that both died
There's a big fucking difference between being stuck in bronze or blue-yellow square and losing to people at majors tournaments
PS4 or PC?
PS4 EU, but as I understand it EU PC and NA in general has more players.
>PS4 EU
you're the guy from last time, add me so I can play with you once I refill my ps+
Oh it is you. Not sure what I did to contribute to you feeling negatively like that especially we haven't talked in a long time but I am willing to talk or hear you out.
Maybe they should add more content to make solo play more fun instead of relying solely on online
Tell me your PSN and I will once I change my username because I'm deeply ashamed of it. I won't have a wired connection until May though, so I won't be playing until then
fluffy eyelashes are my weakness
Hyuraa
Yea Forums is too lazy to learn real fundamentals. It's funny as even in a game like SFV, where you can be a complete gorilla and make it to gold, it's too hard for them.
>Maybe you're just retarded.
I am pretty sure i am
>You can always try separating these lessons and try to do them individually, like "this match I'll focus on blocking", or "this match I'll focus on playing neutral".
That's exactly what i was doing.
>It's good to note also that this shit takes time, you won't instantly get good at blocking by practicing that for 3 matches.
I know. wich is why i spent a huge amount of matches trying to work on individual things to no avail.
>Which is why I usually prefer practicing by actually trying to play the game. I've been playing DBFZ for a year and like I said I can't even stay at pink square, it just takes time
I can't even get out of yellow square. some times going back to green
>try to have some fun to make this time less noticeable.
can't have fun with this amount fo frustration and how much i've been stomped. that shit is just not happening.
are you mental? do you seriously believe players like sonic fox, tokido, alex valle and etc aren't good players? for as much as some one can be better or worse than others players doesn't mean they aren't good at it. I agree on focusing on being better but that video and this mentality is obviously not true and IT IS philosophical garbage.
Also
>Then actually learn and apply it.
yeah, but i can't do it no matter how much i try so it is not a problem that can be solved.
i appreciate the motivational posts and all but that wont do shit.
What do you miss?
SC2/3's stuff?
Just post fighting girls nudes, cocksucka
>Claudio doing nothing in the story.
>Surprise Akuma in the story with his lore being i have to kill Kazuya and Heihachi due to Kazumi promise without knowing what happened with the two, i hope he doesn't show up in future tekken games.
>Kazumi wants to train and have child with the man assigned to kill as she says, then tries to attack him directly instead when he is sleeping.
>The next game plot will be basically Jin trying to kill Kazuya since Akuma failed.
Alright, I'll get back to you in May.
>suck at the genre
>but can't stop playing it
I'm glad I'm not you, that sounds legitimately hellish
More stages, more characters, lots of alternate outfits. Smash Ultimate raised the bar, and other fighting games need to catch up.
NOOOOO SFV IS SUPPOSED TO BE UNGA BUNGA RANDOMNESS!!!!!!!
Uncompressed audio and video. BlazBlue Central Fiction did the same thing with music and voice files, making it take up way more than it should.
>guys, let's use up our resources to make extraneous add-ons!
Any excuse not to get good huh
I played fighting games for 700+ hours and I have no fundamentals, how do I acquire fundamentals
I played SFV for 3 days and ranked up to ultra bronze and back to super like 13 times. I don't mash either, I can even post a replay if you want
Tekken, but it's a pretty bad game to get into because of its obtuseness and complete lack of tutorials
I'd say SFV is the least worst fighter on PC with a high population once we exclude tekken... though it's hardly amazing.
You could maybe try SC6 for 3D or unist for anime.
700 hours in what? anime?
I'd ram her lethal
I don't give a fuck about competitive play.
>but i can't do it no matter how much i try so it is not a problem that can be solved.
Nigga, stop saying you can't do it and fucking do it. Your problem is your goddamn negative attitude. FUCKING DO IT.
Just join and play. You can't get better if you aren't willing to take a beating from players better than you. Half the time, a second lobby gets made where a lot of the new/intermediate players jump into anyways.
Tekken is also popular but it's not bad
Tbh, I'd play fighting games if there were more sexy brown girls.
*sniff* *sniff*
You're the same type of people asking for an easy mode from a fromsoftware game then. Just play another game.
>letting 4 characters stop you from enjoying a game
guess you really couldn't stand it, couldn't wait another minute
Yes, 2 Anime games and 2 tag games. The really offense oriented sub genre of fighting games. Despite this, my offense is complete horse shit.
I recognized that webm you posted and I posted this same replay in /fgg/ and got a lot of good advice but I still couldn't get out of bronze despite that and I quit out of embarrassment.
youtu.be
I can't. I think I'm literally going to have a heart attack If I have to fight one more dipshit ken player on fightcade.
No, I just want a solid single player experience.
>mainly play GG with friend
>he only plays slayer
>on a good day we go even, though I usually lose more often
>have gotten kind of tired of slayer's BS, lately he's been teleporting crossup IKing me or i framing through jabs (why does an IK have i frames)
>In 3S I'm at the mercy of whatever character he picks
I dunno, I think I'm getting to that point where I get burned out again
play pot and slam his shit every time he dashed at you.
Stick to NRS
That sounds good, but I forgot to mention I'm in EU
You're not learning the game right. If you find something you can't deal with or don't know hot to escape in a match, go into the lab and start practicing against that character and that particular move. Hell, sometimes just simply asking works. Just now I played a whole heap of matches against one guy in Tekken 7, friended him on Steam to say gg, and we exchanged some information about how to deal with eachothers' attacks. Looking up info online about your/said character also greatly helps.
That you don't win even when you are in the process of learning doesn't matter. In a real fight your opponent will eventually adapt if your entire mindset is "I am going to do this one thing only" (and quite frankly, so should yours be). If you succeed at doing that one thing at first, that's already a step forwards.
With stuff like blocking you want to learn the attack strings of specific character combo's, or at the very least quickly note which moves your opponent uses the most. Remember that usually there's always two options to each problem in a fighting game because of its rock paper scissors nature.
Don't forget how Akuma simply fucks off completely after fighting Kazuya without even settling the deal
WTF VAPPABROS
I WAS TOLD SFV WAS STILL GORILLA SHIT OHNONONONONO
So am I.
I don't have the reaction speed for video games.
This.
At least NRS always has those trademark quality animations.
>I can't even get out of yellow square. some times going back to green
I can assure you that I have way more than 100 hours though. I started playing fighting games for real at the end of 2017 with SFV, but ever since DBFZ came out that's been my main fighting game, although I also play SFV and GG Xrd on the side.
>can't have fun with this amount fo frustration and how much i've been stomped. that shit is just not happening
This might be the root of your problem. If you're not having fun then you'll have no real drive to get better other than frustration, which is bad. I can't really tell you how to have fun since that changes from person to person, but you should probably do something different than you're currently doing. For me I have the most fun doing experimental shit, whenever I'm in a loss streak I'll just go to training mode and find some experimental setups, combo, or even play a completely new character that I don't usually play for a bit and then take them to online. But that's just me.
There's a reason people say to not play competitive games while "tilted", and that's especially true with fighting games.
Can't say I have personal experience with the EU scene but unfortunately the discord might be the thing for you, no clue how big the scene blew up there, if at all, if EVO announcements had any impact across the sea. I can only hope it isn't as obnoxious as the american one
stop getting hit by guiles sweep and sweep him back after you block it. after you blocked one of his flash kicks you should have capitalized on your oki more instead of backing up every time.
Why she is not in xrd ? Fuck you daisuke
>she
Your A moves naturally frame trap into C moves. 5B has a decent stagger window for frame trapping while everything else is kinda shit. Your special cancel windows are good, so you can delay and end with 236B or 214B as a frame trap.
For pressure, your options change depending on how far away you are. At far range, you have jump-back kuuga and your C buttons. At close range, you have your A and B buttons and a fast grab. Your mixup options are bad, so you'll mainly need to catch them pressing buttons, or otherwise just use grabs and assaults when they don't.
too bad sfv does not reward a playstyle like this. sure you can win a game here and there but at the end of the day it will come to scrambles and v - trigger comebacks
Dumb waifufag
Robo Ky not being playable is the true sin.
Thanks for the advice but the point is that I have 800 hours of experience and dont do the most fundamental shit like punishing properly
Believe in the floof...
I only have fighterz out of all the games released past 2011 and I'm too broke to get SC6 or Tekken.
Also too shit for unist.
PLus passes.
Agreed, despite literally being ranked in the 500 online that guy would never be rewarded for playing like that.
Oh wait.
But I play UNIST and BBTAG almost daily.
Maybe in Xth or whatever the fuck it will be called.
is it safe to try continuous pressure through reverse beat? ive seen some players do it but when i try, i get hit out of it.
It's hard to stay motivated when the community is the definition of small and dedicated and there are no resources on frame data, matchups, combos, and tech while the community is incredibly hard-headed and practices with close friends instead of just making public lobbies.
just make friends bruh
>Been stuck at the intermediate level for years
>Zero idea on how to get out
I think I'm just a brainlet. I have no idea how people can dissect someone's neutral with only one match/round. It takes me a lot of time to pick up on habits, then you play a god who can switch up their gameplan on the fly.
trashbox is ranked nr.1. do I need to say anything else? bobby will never EVER win a tournament with this playstyle
Why did she lose her backflip kick in the transition from 98 to 99
>stop mashing and try to learn
>go through a period where I struggle with mashers
Depends on how much they respect your pressure. People really like to mash in ranked so I stick with a lot of jump back kuugas and dropkicks instead of rebeats there.
I also like to repeatedly rebeat 2C -> 5A at long ranges, since most people don't think to assault to deal with it.
but I just went to the arcade yesterday
thanks for the tips, 1 more question. when you jump back kuuga are you using the A or B version?
it was awful. i stopped playing them a while ago. i only play sf3 sometimes on fightcade and only casual matches with some people i know on discord. i went back to playing single player stuff.
if you really think e negative attitude is all that is keeping from doing these things you are fucking nutz and we dont have anything more to discuss.
i already did everything i could think of that i ahve been told ehre and everywhere else. it aint working therefore i stopped playing.
i did all of that but i couldn't either learn it or apply it during matches. this is also not my first fighting game either, i've been on this road for almost e decade.
Fucking Carlos
The only advice I can give to you guys is to play people much better than you in order to get curb-stomped. What comes next is sharpening your blade. You need to start building experience now and building on what you know. You now need to see what it is that separates you from the people you consider experts but it'll never be as easy as just watching a video. You're going to need to teach your hands even more than your brain.
Solid anti-airing, good job on walking him down to the corner, but always try to be at anti-air range in case he tries to jump over you. Other than that work on your punishes (look up some frame data during loading or on the downtime between matches and sets, phone apps are great for this), and some combos to make the punishes hurt extra hard.
Also like the other user said, you can punish pretty much any sweep from any range with your own.
Yes. Anime fighters don't teach you about the importance of footsies, spacing for whiff punishment, the fireball game, ect.
However SF5 gameplay was developed by a GG player, so it's rushdown focused without the same tools GG has for defense. That's why people who expected Street Fighter hate that game.
The mashers are the fun part since they never block on wakeup or respect your wakeup
There's a difference between mashing and smart mashing
>tfw out-floof'd
Yeah, when you learn how to just punish them it's fun, but I get caught off guard at first
Both. B kuuga's faster so you it can punish better, A kuuga's more plus and works on angles the B version does not.
You'll need to learn when it's safe to use depending on the matchup, but it's a good tool to use. You'll have to play around to figure out a good jump height too. It isn't an answer to everything of course.
There's not an emphasis for whiff punishing unless an opponent messes up real badly, but footsies is definitely one of the harder aspects of anime fighters since it begins and ends fast; a fast ebb and flow.
Also, the GG player they hired for SF5 is a Millia player, so...
Thanks user but this was really unnecessary as I quit the game already. see I only ever played SFV as a measurement of raw fundamentals and skill, and I am extremely bad.
I don't enjoy them unless there's a good chance I'll win. Like so good that even if I do badly one round I can make it up the next. I don't have that so I don't enjoy playing fighting games.
Also, the majority of the time the character designs leave me cold. It's pathetic but the most interested I've been in fighting games is when I'm allowed to make my own autistic OC characters, I played SC6 for a lot longer than I do most fighting games.
Anyway, I'm half decent enough at For Honor that I can win some of the time, so really that's good enough for me.
Nah, they are boring archaic shit.
I want to fuck this brown sharp-tooth slut.
>there are no resources on frame data, matchups, combos, and tech
You can find all of that stuff on dustloop wiki and mizuumi wiki for just about every modern game. Most games have a large Discord server as a player hub where you can asks questions and find matches
>inb4 discord
Yeah it sucks but with a genre as niche as fighters you can't really be picky.
I have seen extremely mediocre players stomping better players by abusing the super dash, that's most likely what happened.
i left the thread and came back, thanks for the responses, ill look into KoF and GG those 2 seem really fun
Join UNIST Yea Forums nightlies. Sunday - Thursday 9:30pm PST - 1:30pm PST.
Everyone encourages eachother to get better and there is very little if any salt. PS and PC both have been getting a decent group of people to play with lately.
This looks boring as sin.
>PST
Thank god it’s the weekend so I don’t have to worry about sleep.
I meant 1:30am PST st the end of that.
Usually we take a break Friday and Saturday but if you want to play later today around the same time, throw up a request to battle it out and I'll play some games with you.
its more a thing of pvp vs pve games.
pve games just arent as dynamic as pvp games which is why its difficult to go back to them once your life got absorbed by league or some garbage shooter.
Don't play shitty games then
I have mixed feelings about her character but she was super fun to play as
What's a good fighting game for beginners on PC? I've tried SFV before but it feels too slow to me (I'm a FPS tryhard so I need fast, flashy shit), so I guess I'm more into anime styled ones?
Divekick
SF4
Why are NA players so fucking dumb?
trying to learn sagat in sfv
he's really fucking different from the other fighters and im not sure it's in a good way
it just feels like he's limited in a bunch of ways that other characters aren't without enough benefits to offset it
>(I'm a FPS tryhard so I need fast, flashy shit)
UNIST and GGxrd both have solid tutorial systems
BBTag and DBFZ don't have as a tutorial but are easier to pick up and play.
>lobbies are during neet hours on weekdays.
>dont play at all on weekends where normal people have the day off
wtf
ty, I will try all of them! I've heard good things about UNIST.
Master the Tiger Knee and all will become clear.
Sagat main here, he feels weird because he's still built as a dedicated zoner in a game where most people play like absolute gorillas. He isn't a bad character, most people seem to agree that he's solid mid or upper mid (Bonchan still busts him out to good success at tournaments). He doesn't have a stupid v trigger that can turn the game instantly or anything, he's just a straight forward honest character. If you enjoy his zoner style he can be really rewarding I feel, though if you want someone with some bullshit cheese maybe look into Guile. Charve motions are too weird for me but if you don't mind them he's another great zoner.
When I started playing him I found this guide very helpful. It provides a nice overview of his moveset, their uses, and even some simple but effective combos.
