Why is this even considered a Resident Evil game?
Other urls found in this thread:
It takes place in someones residence and there's evil inside
Fuck off with the "It's First Person so it's not RE" shit, it's has everything other ones have
Why are 4, 5 and 6 considered Resident Evil games?
Why is this even considered a Resident Evil game?
It's honestly the single most Resident Evil game to come out since 3. Replace the Redneck Horror with Gothic Horror and make the voice acting ten times worse, and it could literally be RE1
Why is Outbreak considered a Resident Evil game?
Because is named and published by the owner of the Ip.
Because it continues the story with stablished lore and chatacters.
Just because you dont like them dosent make them not a part of the series.
didn't say anything about hating them m8
Based
its ties together both the english and japanese titles in one setting.
Why was this? Because Mikami decided to use a title and a bloke called Leon S, Kennedy to use in making his obviously completely new game that could have been called anything else?
>RE1
>gothic horror
I'm surprised you didn't also call it "Lovecraftian".
I have a better question, why RE 2-6 are named Resident Evil if they don't take place inside someone residence?
because it's fucking great and I would use a monkey paw to wish us all a remaster.
It easy to assume that given the question.
Residence of Umbrella Corporation.
Because the real name is Biohazard
It's like they took one half of one game and then sewed it up with an unfinished RE title. Should have been its own series
I think the main issue I have with it is that the main character doesn't have any personality in comparison to other Resident Evil main characters.
4, 5 and 6 are shitty shooters
Nah they are alright
No main RE character has a personality except for Leon. RE6 tried to give Chris one but it's pretty shit.
Seriously, just try to fucking describe the personality of Jill. Or Claire. Or Sheva. Or Rebecca. Or any of the other playable characters. They are all the same bland nothing and so was Chris before RE6. Leon is the only one that has ever had anything even then he didn't get much.
Fuck off.
Quips are not a personality.
Ironic how RE and now the RE2 remake are the best resident evil games.
>I'm Redfield.
>Takes place in the same Universe
>Plays more like a classic entry that the three that preceded it.
Why, indeed.
No fucking shit. That's why I said he doesn't even have much of a personality. It's still a fuckload more than anyone else has ever got. The closest we get to a personality for any of the females is hints Jill is a slut. That's about it. We didn't even know Chris was gay until RE6. To claim RE's main characters have personality is a fucking joke.
He isnt gay.
And what you consider a "personality" any way?
I still never got past the beginning. I hate cat and mouse games. Some games pull it off like the clock tower series or haunting ground. But this just felt like an indie game. Very sad.
Ethan has plenty of personality. I don't understand this complaint at all.
>Only connection to the main series is Chris amd muh bioweapon
I'll never play a Resident Evil indie horror FPS, ever
probably the best re game along with re5
I think this is the real issue here everyone going HURR DURR IT'S TOTES AN RE GAME UR JUST ARBITRARY and posting RE4 and beyond don't get. 4-6, as much as they sucked, still continue the lore and story of the prior games, in the same universe. What's this one's ties to the rest of the series besides "Chris"?
>Use herbs to heal
>Use knife to brake wooden crates
>Takes place in Resident Evil
>Has Biohazard virus beings thing
>Weapon and storage management
>Horror elements
Literally a Resident Evil game.
>its ironic
How so?
You forgot your pic
It IS gothic horror, moron.
I dont get what you mean either though user, how so? I thought gothic horror was stuff like The Adams family or Sleepy Hollow and all that shit?
It's called Resident Evil and it shares elements from other games in the series.
>He isnt gay.
Sure he isn't.
>And what you consider a "personality" any way?
It's who the person is. Their disposition. Their morality. Their hobbies. Their likes and dislikes. Their everything.
Almost all of them are just bland generic "good person". Some of them are given a minor trait, e.g. Jill being a whorebag, Billy having a problem with authority, but it never really has much bearing on the personality of the character in question. It's presented more as "lore" and not who the person actually is. Compare the main characters to the side characters like Luis and Excella and it's fucking night and day.
Nice try, RE4 us the best RE4 game.
>Plays more like a classic entry
What is this meme? It plays nothing like 1 and 2?
Moira has personality.
youtu.be
It is more resident evil than 4, 5, 6 and the spinoffs
Because it's literally the only scary RE game since REMAKE. Without shitty controls, the only way to make a game actually scary is a first person perspective. There's a reason RE2 Remake isn't scary in the slightest.
this is the only resident evil game I have ever beaten.
Nice, now play RE2make.
I dunno my fucking buthole made a noise when i played REmake 2 for the first time and the dogs busted through the little vents between rooms and shit
Why is this considered a Resident Evil game?
Its in the title, dumbass!
But did RE7 contradict any of the past games? It just added. Are creators suddenly not allowed to make any new story in a established universe because any of the main stays aren't leading? Id RE2 not an RE game if Leon was the only protagonist and nothing about Chris was mentioned?
Dude, the lore of resident evil is absolute B-movie trash. The less a game continues it the better.
It was the purest RE game since 0 at the time of its release, though.
This. 2 was just as much of a narrative departure with the gall to set up new characters and perspectives.
>muh bioweapon
That's the MO of every fucking game in the series.
fuck you, I liked it
I fucking hate indie FPS horror games where you have to hide, like Amnesia or Outlast, pick this up or no?
Only the first hour is stealth the rest is combat/dodging.
And even then it's usually running in that first hour, not hiding.
I played the demo, and it's unironically scary as fuck.
Early game's a bit like that but once you get to the mansion basement it's straight up classic RE from there. Even then said early game has a few neat RE-esque boss encounters.
>i fucking hate
no you dont hate it, your just a fucking pussy
>hurrr its not a ____ game because it doesn't follow the usual formula
I bet you think FFXV isn't an FF game too
You start out with no weapons or anything but there's only one single segment at the beginning where you actually have to hide or run from an enemy and then after that you get a gun pretty much immediately. And after you unlock some shit you basically become so overpowered that you'll be able to just cheese your way through the entire game on additional playthroughs. I enjoyed it though.
What's funny is 7 is a soft return to the classic formula.
You just answered your own questions OP lol
Aw shit I realize you aren’t OP, but that is the right answer, so /thread
deserves it more than 4-6
where the fuck is PCVR???
fucking scumcom
>I hate cat and mouse games
Fuck off, Ada
go for it, I didn't like outlast but enjoyed 7. you start off without a weapon but get one pretty quickly.
I guess voice acting and his change in tone throughout the game doesn't count.
>There's a reason RE2 Remake isn't scary in the slightest
You're like in an extremely small minority there.
Because its called Resident Evil
