They're not sprites they are 3D polygonal models. They were created to resemble chibi art style which is to make something small with exaggerated features big head and feet etc. They done it for the field models because they wanted to keep the graphic usage low while keeping the characters clean and easily recognisable/distinguishable from one another

Well yeah that's why you constantly talk to him throughout the game and he is able to defeat Tsung and how he makes cloud give him the black materia even though he has been asleep in the north crater since the neibelheim incident. You just think it's the real sephiroth for most of the game until you get to the crater, there are plenty of clues that it was Jenovas though. Near the start of the game the headless Jenova escapes from Hojos lab, it takes the form of sephiroth when it wants to fuck with cloud basically and sephiroth was able to control it.

OG Sephiroth dies in the Nibelheim fire. But with Jenova cells and willpower reforms himself in the lifestream. You fight the "real" Sephiroth at the end. For all intents and purposes though, the Sephiroth that you see throughout the game is a manifestation of his and Jenova's will.

So why the fuck does he act like an alright dude up until he finds out what he really is? If it was clone controled by Sephiroth, then he wouldn't give a fuck. Zack was the first and only clone that turned out okay, and Cloud while got fucked in the head, was still much more sane then others.

Not him but functionally. Jenova's trademark ability is shape shifting and mimicking other people so she could get closer to them, infiltrate their ranks, and corrupt them into monsters. Jenova's second trademark ability is to be able to control herself and anyone hosting her genetics at the cellular level. Sephiroth used this ability to travel the world gathering everyone with Jenova cells in them, even though his half destroyed body was stuck in the Northern Crater.

He's not really dead he gets stabbed by cloud in the neibelheim reactor, cloud throws his body off a platform down into the free flowing life stream that the reactor is harnessing the power of. Sephiroth is carried away by the current of life stream like a strong river tide and is never seen again assumed to be dead. What actually happens is he drifts down stream through the life stream to a place called the northern crater which is a massive hole in the ground which has created a cave the cave is so deep into the ground that the life stream flows down to there and pools up there it's a place of strong magical potency, sephiroth is washed down here and is basically asleep and cocooned inside a condensed form of mako/life stream energy. He would have been dead but being in that state of crystallised life stream he is still alive and being part of the life stream allowed him to effect people with the same Jenova cells inside of them, which meant he controlled all the guys with tattoos to meet for the reunion and guided Jenova to escape and use her cells to create a duplicate version of himself that could both get the black materia and go to the north crater and wake himself up

There’s an FMV scene where you see Sephiroth’s crystalized body right after the whirlwind maze. He’s been manipulating everything the whole time from there.

It will be rushed to fuck, and corridors everywhere like FF13 with no exploration at all. First part will end where the party is looking over the end of the highway in Midgar, after Shinra HQ.

The real Sephiroth wasn't really a clone. He was a science experiment ShinRa was using to find the Promised Land. ShinRa knows Cetra can talk to the Planet, so if you inject a human with Cetra DNA you get a human with Cetra abilities. Of course we find out later that Jenova was never a Cetra but an alien parasite shape shifted to look like one. And instead of a human with Cetra abilities that got a super human monster that had a psychic link with his "mother" as a result of Jenova's physiology.

The clones were ShinRa's attempt to do Sephiroth again but right this time. Ironically Cloud ended up being deemed a failure because he was too strong willed to just bend over and blindly assimilate to Jenova's will. Even if it was a subconscious thing and he finally cracked after the Temple

There is a full game on psp called crisis core where you play as Zack. You get to play through the full neibelheim incident and see it happening in 3D with good graphics and English voice acting you should play it after 7 if you can.

No. Hojo specifcally made those at Nibelheim, and all of them got fucked up in some way. Zack and Cloud are the same as black cloack dudes, but somehow less fucked up. I love how Cloud is an unreliable narrator in this game. When he tells the story you have no reason not to believe him. Then you start seeing more and more holes in his story. And Tifa keeps asking if Cloud is really Cloud since so many details about him are wrong. Until by the time you get to the Crater you're saying "what the fuck" at the same time Cloud is saying it. I wish we got to see more of the "upper plate" world in Midgar. Barret makes it sound pretty nice but the minimal areas we do see during the reactor missions look pretty bland. Maybe with not as much debris as the slums but it's nothing great either. Not that different from Junon.

That's what I thought for the longest time. I was under the impression that Cloud was born as a clone of Zack, just a failed one. His hair color being the opposite of Zack's and having the same degree of spikiness (albeit much messier) made this seem plausible. Cloud was Hojo's failed attempt at cloning a SOLDIER 1st Class specimen from Zack.

She barely even thinks about him during the whole course of the game, and when she learns he's dead she's shocked but accepts it without much worry and is then back to her usual self immediately after.

I played it for the first time as a twelve-year-old, with English not even being my first language, and I still understood the story just fine.

Well, I played it for the first time when I was 6, and I only had a pirated copy of the first 2 discs on mandarin, and I got it just fine.
