What were they thinking?

yeah that was pretty dumb
not only did I just waste like 20 minutes of my life starting the games over and over in a row to unlock them, I never even knew about ristar being on it until like last year

In light of it and DX's retarded unlock methods, it had absolute kino music.

>not comprehending the joys of working towards unlockables organically pre-2010s

You dumbshit zoomers wouldn't understand since everything is handed down to you pieceameal via paid DLC.

>Its okay when Animal Crossing does it

>thinking everyone is a zoomer for wanting full choice
>thinking locking entire full games behind secrets and play time is good for what is supposed to be a compilation of those games and not just being able to play the games you want off the bat
>thinking this is comparable to unlocking optional extra content like cheat codes, hidden weapons, secret levels, etc.
If you buy a compilation, it should be open from the get go. I don't mind unlockables like listed above but hiding entire games behind "Play this game 35 times" is retarded.

Spinball.

>Implying Toxic Caves and the Boss Theme aren't kino

Alright, This game had everything it offered from the start and this was released in 1997.
Now what?

even then there are multiple edits floating around for the options song, and if you listen closely to the original thing you can hear an actual song under the original. Not sure if it was a soundchip issue or what, but the tesla coil sound effects are almost always edited out or deafened. I have no idea what in the fuck they were thinking

Lost World and Sonic Boom didn't. They had passable music, but not great.
Then there's the Bioware RPG.

>implying the options menu isn't kino

My zoomer nostalgia goes off every time I hear this track

options menu is kino when you have the music at the lowest setting
it doesn't help that emulating the game makes it sound even worse than it did on the original hardware.

I was only half joking I like that track

I like the track too but I still wish that they didn't butcher it

I will never not love this remix. youtu.be/z3Na1kDJpu4
