Fuck Dark Souls 3.
What a shitty hub
Who's fucking lighting these candles? It always bothers the fuck out of me with Soulshit is if everything is suppose to be dead then how the fuck are candles, torches and shit still being lit?
the fire keeper does it
me, its a tough job im glad someone noticed
Probably the Firekeeper, considering it's her job to take care of Firelink
.
magic
Isn't this a problem in almost every fantasy ever?
That place isn't abandoned. Most NPCs wind up there.
Maybe the Npc named the “fire keeper”
Just a hunch though
Also there’s monsters everywhere and people can use magic to do just about anything. Everlasting candles don’t seem too far out of reach
DS2 had a comfy ass hub, and the emerald herald was a babe
>graphics dramatically improve
>people are still retarded so they weld over the eye slits
>boot up game
>alt+tab in majula after playing for a while
>completely forgot the game open and just kept listening to the theme while doing something else
youtube.com
>Nexus is well lit, has a neat design, has everyones personal belongings all over the place
>Firelink (1) is right under the sun and lush with green grass
>Majula is also under the sun, has some comfy houses, and overlooks an ocean
>Hunter's Dream feels like a comfy getaway home and is bathed in moonlight
>Firelink (3) is indoors, dimly lit, and has no foilage
There's your problem. It doesn't feel like home, it's not lit, it's not lived-in.
Who would tend to these small candles, the small fires on these candles... Some sort of.. Keeper of said small fires. A fire keeper, if you will.
The ambient noise in this video is way too loud to be relaxing.
Dark Souls 3 is the end of the series, everything has gone to shit and Firelink represents that perfectly if you ask me.
Fuck u nigga ds3 hub world was nice
But everything else about that game sucked shit, especially how much it fellated ds1
Just made me think of what the perfect souls game would be
> map design of 1
> Asthetic of 2’s armor and hub
> 3’s weapons
> 3’s gameplay
> world asthetic of 1
> 3’s MP
> 3’s PvP
> 1’s bosses
Personally I love 3 the most of the trilogy because the gameplay hits the nail on the head, it just lacks a bit on its world and map design
Always loved this piece
More like
>map of 1
>aesthetic of DeS
>music of DeS and BB
>mix of Sekiro and 3s gameplay
>mix of 2 and 3's MP
>mix of BB, 3s, and Sekiros bosses
Why casuls setthing so hard on soulsborne game? Bosses are too hard for you?
If only someone was there who's job it was to keep the fire.
They tried to reference The Nexus except they fucked it up harder than B-Team
The perfect souls game doesn’t have mechanics from other souls like games nigga
But if it did I vote Nioh > Sekiro big time, I’m not about that forced dex build life
It's fun to invade someone or get summoned by someone in DaS2 and just run around lighting their torches.
I don't get it. Firelink is nice and cozy, meanwhile Majula is literally nothing but ruined buildings with an open sewage pipe in the center that probably reeks of thousands upon thousands of years of Drangleic's garbage. It doesn't even have proper greenery like DS1 Firelink did.
Must’ve missed the giant beautiful cliff side with the bonfire that overlooked an endless sea. Combined with the music and emerald babe it was great
The sea in Majula never looked particularly appealing, to be honest. If the area looked more like Heide's Tower of Flame it'd be a lot better, but something about Majula's lighting and color just turns me off completely.
Way I see it, I'd rather have the hub be somewhere in Heide, which I actually think is a really comfy-looking area, or to stay in Majula but have everybody more inside the mansion, as well as enlarge it and fix the roof. Make it a proper house, maybe even give it a little garden. And put the garbage hole somewhere else for heavens' sake.
I don't want Sekiro 2, but I do prefer the complexity it had. I'm playing Bloodborne again after playing Sekiro, and it's braindead simple in comparison. I want more combat utility and a wider set of moves/combos.
Should I play DaS2 or Nioh? Haven't played DaS2 in years. I never beat Nioh but I'd start a new save and do a 2h build (are there 2h i don't remember)
I still never got the point of the small old man. He just sits there. And for some reason he didn't Kindle the fire? How does an old man like that manage to get the fire?
He kindles it, they all kindle it [except Lothric?], Ludleth is the only one who didn't run away after being raised again.
Also it's very strongly implied that there's a lot more to Ludleth than he lets on. Maybe it's a Gwyndolin situation, where his looks don't amount to much but he packs quite the punch, just in his case we never get to see.
>Map design of 1
It worked out but it would be better to evolve beyond that. A souls game without fast travel that's just selecting from a list of locations would be a breath of fresh air at this point because it's a massive crutch. Doing some esoteric shit to move to and from locations would be more interesting.
>Aesthetic of 2's armor
2 had pretty shitty MMO armor. It was also the first to try to fix clipping by fucking with items while still having full sets that were supposed to match clip like a motherfucker
>2's hub
Was alright
>3's weapons
The way the weapons worked was worse than 2 but more polished
>3's gameplay
Was a mismatch of tempo in a lot of ways by improving things disparately and fucking with the various elements with little regard. It made the game more bland and started to hit the boundaries of gameplay in Souls by distilling everything down to roll souls.
>3's MP and PvP
It was pretty shit though. It was more reliable to matchmake but it wasn't fun.
>1's bosses
They were alright and had some of the better ideas but 3 had some solid bosses and 2 at least had interesting gimmicks for nearly everything.
>Ludleth is the only one who didn't run away after being raised again
he's got no legs
How did he climb on that throne then
What do you mean he Kindles it. Isn't the whole point of dark souls 3 you chasing down the assholes who avoided kindling the fire, Killin gthem, then using their souls to Kindle the fire yourself?
Are Dilapidated Temple and Kuro's Room peak comfy? They have the perfect mix of isolation from the dangerous world and bro NPCs + Emma.
They all [except Lothric] already linked it once in the past, you're chasing after them because they don't want to do it AGAIN.
No, the temple is cold and deserted and Kuro's room is big and sterile
Rice loli's room is warm and inviting though
3 and Bloodborne have absolutely shit hubs
BB's would be great if there were actually other hunters that showed up except Gehrman
Everyone already kindled it and they've been brought back to life so you can do it
Why didn't they want to link it.
Setting your soul on fire for an eternity sucks. Then later waking up and being told that whatever blackened remains didn't burn fully have to be set on fire again sucks even more.
I wonder why the abyss didn't come out.
Nexus = Firelink 1 > Majula > Hunters Dream > Firelink 3 > Dilapidated Temple
>basically a constant downgrade
retard
>literal fire keeper is always there
>WHO IS SETTING FIRE TO THE CANDLES ?!
retard
based
But who's lighting that shit in random-ass places that are factually abandoned or even sealed off, like the Catacombs of Carthus?
Their homelands had gotten fucked up and it was generally pointless, unrewarding and unpleasant
The skeletons, duh.
miyazaki
Firelink 1 is no where near as cozy as Nexus or Majula, damn jew snake
Ludleth lit the flame in the same cycle Champion Gundyr had intended to. Champ was imprisoned by Oceiros IIRC, got there too late and hollowed, so Ludleth literally willed himself able to light the fire in the encroaching dark because he was such a badass. When you fight the real Champ, its during that cycle, he's hollowed and everything is dark.
DS3 skeletons are fucking hilarious, they look like they're enjoying themselves
Crestfallen Warrior detected
Yhorm went to pout in his throne and be emo and might have been hollow anyway, Aldritch never wanted to link it in the first place and was basically forced to the first time so upon being revived he just went on with his plan to bring about/prepare for an age of the deep, whatever that entails, and Lothric also never wanted to do it and didn't either time.
Is age of deep same as dark
We don't know, not enough information is provided. Aldritch had a dream/vision of an age of the deep, not specified exactly what that is.
The dual wielding skellies have the sickest moveset.
Dark Souls 3 had reat bosses, great soundtrack, more great lore and locations. Too bad the level design was lacking.
I enjoyed Nioh far more than DaS2.
I think 2h weapons are spears, axes and odachis
>3s gameplay being good
zoom zoom
Ludleth is the only one who never swayed you to do things, he just wants you to do what YOU feel is right.
Maybe someone cut his legs off and put him on the throne. When you kill him you can hear his agony of burning.
They saw the abyss in each other, seriously.
Majula > FS3 > FS1.
I was never a fan of original firelink, just some generic ass ruins.
This, honestly. It's just a fucking bonfire in the middle of some ruins. Take two steps and you're getting fucked by skeletons. I'd probably easily forget about it if it was actually a random bonfire and not a hub.
Majula was nowhere near perfect but was actually a solid hub. Especially with that music.
