ah ok i get you now. i misunderstood you when i initially read what you said. i loved the working out stats in san andreas. some random npcs talk to you differently when you were really buffed up. also loved how you can go to different gyms and learn new fighting moves

At launch I thought that it was one of the best games ever, but over time I saw through the smoke and mirrors:
>open world, while being the one of the most liveliest in gaming, feels small yet empty even though it is bigger than San Andreas
>missions are fun but super linear, also overarching storyline is very mediocre and feels unfinished and unfocused
>gameplay has a ton of small issues regarding movement and aim (which is weird, since Rockstar had basically perfected 3rd person combat in Max Payne 3)
>chaotic, grindy online which is extremely fun when playing with friends (doing heists or organisation missions)
>Take 2/Rockstar are one of the most greediest companies ever
>mods are great, but like Skyrim, they don't really fix underlying issues

everything about the gameplay is terrible besides the driving.
it's slow, sloggish and unprcise, anything your character does takes ages, it's like they took the worst parts of 4 and made it even worse
tumbling down a hill or getting hit by a car for example for example. you can't move e characteruntil hecomes to a complete halt which is a terribly frustrating experience when it happens
the heat system is terrible, high heat chases are almost impossible to win and are no fun at all
gameplay variety is nonexistent, mission design and structure puts you on rails with no room for self initiative, side content is nonexistent

and they're banned as well if you want to play online

Beautiful game with the most mediocre story mode out of all GTA games since 3. The main characters aren't that interesting, especially Franklin. They should've gotten him a better voice actor. The way CJ says things combined with that VA is hilarious in GTA:SA.
Online could've been good but is ruined with the amount of loading times. Pretty much heists and racing were the only modes I enjoyed. That armored car ruined every single aspect of free roam.

IV > VCS > VC > SA > III > V > LCS

It was ok, not as memorable as pervious titles but it was still a great game none the less. Lemarr was the only really memorable character imo
