Will ICO get a remake?

And will Blue Point be behind it? They did an incredible job with SOTC. I don't usually prefer remakes over originals, they tend to lose their soul and charm, but SOTC remake was better than the original for me

They said their current project is more of a re-envisioning than a remake, which makes me think it might be Ico since the game is a bit too simple for what players expect these days. I imagine if they want to sell the game for $40 they'd have to add some more enemy types, maybe more things to do in combat, maybe even some more areas.
I'm a Ico > SotC kinda guy but I also loved the SotC remake so I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Same here man, yeah they'll probably add a ton more areas and puzzles, the original game was only like 4 hours long.

I'm thinking of all the crazy shit they could do
>Yorda in general interacts with the environment more and isn't quite as autistic. She'll only be dragged by the hand for the first 20 or so minutes before she decides to keep pace. She'll have more unique animations when idling, like looking at a vista, playing with grass, etc
>If you are far into the game, Yorda may attempt to defend herself or even defend you. She's really bad and is unlikely to be effective though.
>Ico has more natural ways to move about the environment, a bit more like TLG
>The stick and the sword now have pause strings and hold inputs to spice up melee combat

Aren't they remaking Demon's Souls?

I would be just as happy, Demons Souls is my favorite soulsborne game next to BB

There's so many of them and they all play the same though. Pretty lame imo. Unless they did something radical like add in jumping I wouldn't be interested.

They're all cool in their own way, if they weren't, people wouldn't enjoy them.

Yeah I guess it's like the Call of Duty or Assassin Creed kind of deal.

I suppose, a lot more detail and care goes into fromsoft games though.

I’d give anything to see an expanded HD castle. It’s still one of my favorite settings in terms of atmosphere.

One thing I don't see people acknowledge about their last remake is that the overworld's atmosphere is so much richer than the original. I spent a lot of time just riding around the plains and looking at the cliffs. The beaches are especially nice. Would enjoy to see them do the queen's castle justice.

Untwoi?

next project is also rumoured to be MGS1 or SH1 tho.

>MGS1
Dude stop
>SH1
Mite b cool

It's Demon's Souls remade with Bloodborne improvements.

Everything looked so much better in the remake. Except for his face. Holy god did they fuck up with his face.

Blue Point are technically competent but they don’t know shit about art direction.

add a photo mode for taking pictures of yorda's feet

What the fuck do you know about art direction?

lol this game is shit and SOTC and the remake too. if you want a true artistic masterpiece go play BOTW.

It's next to impossible to replicate art direction 1:1.

Especially when engines differ.

no shit, but that doesn't mean you have to go in an opposite direction. but that doesn't mean bluepoint didn't nail their goal. neither of you know what you're talking about.

YORDA SFM

bump

ICO is one of my favourite games but it's pretty short and simply. I'd like to see them add lots of new areas and puzzles. What I fear if they'll add a combat system (I link the simplicity of it).

What sort of game has the right amount of complexity that might fit an Ico remake? I think somewhere between Prince of Persia Sands of Time and Devil May Cry 1 could be the sweet spot. Maybe put an emphasis on environmental interactions, like have height be a crucial strategic resource.
