I reinstalled it a few days ago.
I forgot how ugly the game was, maybe they changed something , I dunno. Still, HoN still has the most fun heroes from MOBAs, nothing was more satisfying than playing Salforis and ulting an escaping enemy.
Tried playing LoL because someone told me Mordekaiser was like Salforis but it wasn't even close.

I was mostly a player who randomized in 95% of the matches but when I had to pick a hero, I'd always go Timbersaw. Shame that after they nerfed solo offlaning, it felt like Timbersaw never recovered from it. He wasn't very good at dual-laning because of XP sharing and midlane was too reliant on counter-picking. If you didn't stomp middle, you probably lost the game.

Funnily enough, randoming for extra gold and timbersaw were my favorite things about dota 2 and they both got removed or nerfed around the same time. Went from daily player to a monthly one during that period. Maybe one day Timbersaw will make a comeback to it's former glory. Maybe give him a game-changing level 25 talent. It has been two years since 7.00 and his level 25 talents are still underwhelming as fuck.

The reason will be that in 10 years LoL and Dota 2 will be outdated in terms of graphics and engine so there is high chance both games will make sequels. At that time young players that never played mobas might try it

Well, this statement pretty much guarantees that only Dota and LoL will be relevant because everyone dumped their money and time into those respective games. A reason why the moba craze ended pretty damn fast was because no one could make League and Dota players budge from their games. Disregarding dev and game quality, they really didn't offer anything from either game that made players want to switch besides something really superficial like aesthetics/themes. So why would a developer try to make their money in a genre dominated by like 5 games who all have the same playerbases with the same reasons why said bases stick to those games.

Rubick from dota, his ultimate (best spell) lets him steal an enemy spell to cast whenever he wants, he has a passive that buff both duration and damage from any spell. You can see why he s one of favorite

comfiest community, no one.
Dota is the most rewarding, but it's the hardest to master; every gameplay element is free, but skin can cost 30$.
Hots is the easiest one, but they just killed the competitive scene and people are afraid the game gonna be killed soon; you need to unlock characters and you can t play what you like.
Lol is the middle ground, people still play it and even if they bitch a lot they like it. You need to slowly unlock chars here too. Note that I have barely played this game so I can't help that much.
Anyway if you really want to go into a MOBA your best option is to check what your friends are playing and ask if you can join them, this way you ll skip most of toxic people and they can slowly teach you all the HUGE amount of shit you need to learn

Been a while since I played, but I remember Linkens being a retarded mess, with it blocking abilities basically at random. It could block several aoe abilities (lion and es come to mind), but ONLY if the opponent actually clicked the hero with linkens. If they clicked the ground it wouldn't block the ability. Also, which abilities pierce BKB. Many ultimates do, but some don't and there doesn't appear to be any logic behind it beyond some nebulous "balance".
