How do I make a Room imprssive and give robotic limbs?
Add shit that adds to the beauty to the room like statues etc, set the pawn you want to replace the limb on to be operated and let the doctor do his thing if you have one obviously you also need that robotic limb.

Not necessarily. It depends on the mod. That genetics mod adds a shitload of time to startup and it's only one single mod.

the system itself could be potentially interesting if it actually made sense though, like you get diseases from eating raw meat/botched meals or untreated/badly treated wounds (which already have infection potential, which is also poorly implemented considering an infected hand can kill you for some reason), or even have clouds of insects that go around the map sucking blood and transmitting shit, are there really no mods that actually improve the system instead of outright removing it?

This playthrough got boring. I collected 1 of every magic user from Rimworld of Magic. Nothing could beat that much bullshit.

I can't achieve max comfy because there's no way to seal a room and make your own jungle biome

I know medieval times has the option to do it but there should be a good number of other mods out there that can disable it at different levels

i know making your freezer out of wood is just gross regardless of what the game takes into account. especially when you're already surrounded by stone and steel
I've done a few advanced bases with this game, but I always either fuck up a mission to go recover something/someone, or I just get bored of my fully automated luxury gay bunker. I've yet to finish a game.
If the game had achievements I might've finished one to get that. They do work.
dug out a design in a hill outside the walls, they infested it, let it grow since i figured they attract the raids making them great guard dogs, and infestations only spread as long as theres overhead mountain.
There wasnt enough raids and caravans to keep them in check though. And any time it got cold enough to incap any little scarab, their hive would immediately mob the walls. It would have been fine, but the FPS got pretty bad.
Killing all their hives starved a lot of them though. They only ate jelly and corpses it seemed.
Gotta say playing this with 5+ friends where you are each one pawn, which is based on you as insultingly as possible, is probably the most fun I've had in a long time

what do you think about only being able to directly control 1 character and playing mostly in 1st/3rd person perspective and instantly losing the game if your character dies?

yeah, northern hemisphere boreal or redwood only really, with a road preferably. Dont enjoy the other biomes or their fauna as much. And the berries, marshes, mountains make life easier. You know, checks all the autism boxes.
I should play this game again sometime. Totally dropped it when I got Kenshi

if you made kenshi into more of an fps action game, but still with the deep systems of a game like rimworld or kenshi, that would be pretty fun.

i had an idea for a game where you play as a single colonist in essentially a rimworld colony, but it's story-driven choose-your-own-adventure rather than a survival game. The problem is that the ship's ai, which dictates all the orders for the colony (ie what you played as in rimworld) turns out to be callous and sees you as disposable, and if you follow all of its instructions throughout the story you end up in terrible situations and end up dying, and the only way to get the good ending is to either rebel and take control of the colony or to escape.
I'm definitely not looking to make a cover shooter
The basic idea is having all the RimWorld mechanics just a different more direct control theme and different character interactions where you can't force people to do things and instead have to manipulate them into maybe doing what you want

I've had some similar ideas, with the colonists basically being prisoners
Something like that always seems like a good way to give the player some busywork, so there's less situations where there's nothing specific to do

this happened to me 2 games back, I think there was 16 hives when it first popped up and that grew to 20 while I was fucking around not dealing with it (I just walled off the main cave and set a no-travel zone around the other end I couldnt access without drawing aggro)
I was also much less prepared for it when it came and ended up just forming a caravan and bailing on the colony with all the valuables
2 doggos died from bad pathing while forming the caravan
Is it ever actually worth using Luciferium? I’ve never tried using it because of the drawbacks

This game can be quite fun some times. My biggest issue is that for combat you have 2 real choices. Make a super cheesy kill box that rapes the entire attacking force with no issue. Or dont do that and end up with most of your colonists horribly injured.

There is also feeding a giant clusterfuck of angry animals and boomrats/loupes, and unleashing them on raids, feeding the surviving animals with the flesh of their victims.
But rotating pastures is an annoying micromanagement to do, and animal handlers easily waste the most production time out of any job, so this shit still isn't as efficient as a killbox.
it slowly heals permanent scars and wounds (short of regenerating entire body parts) and increases combat effectiveness by a decent amount
it's not really worth it outside of bringing scarred melee veterans back to peak combat fitness or brain injured sharpshooters back from the dead; it's almost never worth it for non-combat colonists (though I'd make an exception for a level 20 animal handler or warden)
a cryosleep casket is mandatory in most cases regardless

I'll be more elaborate and reformat it in the following days
All the features modded RimWorld has, but with some drastic gameplay changes and additions:
- You mainly play in first/third person perspective, with a bird's eye view for build planning
- You only have direct control over your own character
- Other characters are AI-controlled and build their own things (using food and resources you may consider your own)
- You can't directly control them but you can suggest or demand they do certain contextual actions and things you queued up in the building/job planner
- Whether they do it or not depends on what they personally think about you and your standing in the group
- If you are respected and they considered you their leader they will likely do what you want
- If they are timid and you are strong enough to bully them into submission they will likely do what you want and maybe stab you in the back
- If you are weak and they don't like you then they will likely ignore you unless you make good suggestions that line up with their own plans
- ...those are just a few examples, the basic idea is that you can become the leader that decides everything, or the town bycicle / slave that just follows orders, or anything in between
you can download the mods from the website but steam workshop is so fuckin easy

The reason it doesn't exist yet is because most programmers are too dumb to do AI, let alone complex gameplay mechanics

To be fair it is basically a Dorf fortress with exactly what you're describing. The better the graphics etc get, the less shit you can do though.
Dwarf Fortress is worse in every way except complexity
