Using "Digimodify" was just as much like Deus Ex Machina as "the will to digivolve" in earlier seasons.

I mean how does it even work? Can we presume the cards are expended after one use? Is there a limit? There's a fight where Gargomon stacks like 4 effects. If not all why not buff the digimon in every fight? Why wasn't there a run on booster packs before they went to the digital world? The blue cards seem to vanish and appear in unexpected times so at least those are vanishing. But that's the exact same "plot tension no wait we can become more powerful" false tension.

I'll grant it does definitely seem like they're doing something more than shouting "Digivolve" or offering suggestions that may or may not pan out. But c'mon the only consistent thing was that they needed they took a minute in each episode to flash something you could buy.

Yeah a classmate of one of the main characters gets absorbed ito a eldritch horror physical manifestation of a cleanup routine that tries to destroy the entire planet. Pretty surreal stuff in the best way.
Ruined any of the other Digimon anime series for not being as well put together as Tamers.

I liked the series where the characters were older. Fuck even as a kid I didnt know what the series' were called. Had a pretty decent ps2 game, mostly for the art and the cool battle mechanics.

What is so bad about this?

In a franchise that has been "what you see is yours if not owned by someone else" since the start making something exclusively for "else" was a thing people didn't like. Now dumb shit like Mecha Tyranitar or Monica is out of the question but people wanted F-00 and Majin as actual Pokemon for years.

There's a reason why in Yokai Watch every time they make a new game they make the previous game's bosses catchable. Because nobody likes not owning monsters in a monster franchise.

Which then got hilariously pushed aside. I thought they were on the same stage as s1 evolutions then you see the real difference in power when ExVeemon finally shows up.

There's no NTR, but it does get much darker toward the end than it probably needed to. One of the characters gets traumatized by the death of her Digimon and becomes suicidal while also getting possessed by the final boss.

This will forever be the only reason most people even remember Angela Anaconda. It's a show mostly forgotten outside of this one crossover promotion thing with "Digmon: The Movie".

the French dub is almost entirely based on the English dub, since it was also handled by Fox Kids or whatever. It uses the names, music, almost direct translation of the shitty English script, etc.

Pretty much one of the biggest examples of subs > dub, when it comes to the English dub.
